Integration Services :: Error In Typecasting From String To Datetime

I am using derived column to convert string data to datetime .My string data :
Start Date
15/06/2015
30/06/2015
NULL
2015/06/24
I wrote in derived column expression:
(DT_DATE)(SUBSTRING(([Start Date]),7,2) + "/" + SUBSTRING(([Start Date]),5,2) + "/" + SUBSTRING(([Start Date]),1,4))
which is giving error :
[Derived Column 1 [5452]] Error: The "component "Derived Column 1" (5452)" failed because error code 0xC0049064 occurred, and the error row disposition on "output column "Start Date" (5650)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
How to write the expression in derived column to handle null value as well.
Error: The variable "$Package::LocalConfigDB_ConnectionString" was not found in the Variables collection. The variable might not exist in the correct scope.

I have created one variable name migration_start datetime which give me default format of 6/11/2015 1:26 AM...But I expecting to get in 2015-06-11 01:26:22.813 format.I have used below expression betting getting issue with that
I am using Execute sql task in my SSIS package, and I am trying to make the following query:
<o:p></o:p> Select max(sqlid) from archive.dbo.Archivebbxfbhdr where timein <= ?<o:p></o:p> Where ? is my input parameter variable migration_start which is a datetime.<o:p></o:p>
My issue is that variable name migration_start which give me default format of 6/11/2015 1:26 AM
But I expecting to get in 2015-06-11 01:26:22.813 format.<o:p></o:p>
How I can I change the datetime format of my variable to be (yyyy/mm/dd)hh:mm:ss)?<o:p></o:p>
I am using Sql Server 2012. I have a table which has a field as Datetime (it is a table in Dynamics CRM 2011 so I have no control of the data type). Say this field is called BisStartDate. If I run this query in management studio.
select BisStartDate, BisStartDateutc from myTable where _bisnumber=10375
I will get:
BisStartDate BisStartDateutc
2014-07-29 00:00:00.000 2014-07-29 05:00:00.000
*in CRM, datetime is saved in 2 fields, one is the current time, the other one is the utc time.
You can see the offset between the datetime and utc is 5 hours.
However when the same statement was running inside a SSIS package on the server, the result returned is:
I will get -5 if I run it in ManagementStudio and -6 is running on server package(running inside VisualStudio will be -5, same as running a query in ManagementStudio).
I think when the record was saved, “date” is 5 hours offset to UTC time but now the system use the current utc offset which is 6 hours. I just want to use the BisStartDate as it is. How do I let the SSIS turn off the conversion.
The same datatime is saved in another system then we compare them to check the data entry. Now because of this one hour difference, sometime the Day will be different.
I have a several servers that i want to pull data from.I put the connection string in a OBJECT variable that come from configuration table and use it in the for loop mapping the value to local variable called connectionstring, this variable is the expression for the connection string property.So far everything is working as expected.
my problem is that on my development i put my local server in the connection string variable so i will be able to connect to the server so i will be able to map source to destination.
When i deploy the solution to production the data in the configuration table is different obviously but i get a connection error that saying that it try to connect to my dev server.why?
i have migrated a DTS package wherein it consists of SQL task.
this has been migrated succesfully. but when i execute the package, i am getting the error with Excute SQL task which consists of Store Procedure excution.
But the SP can executed in the client server. can any body help in this regard.
I am using OLE DB source to extract data from Oracle. I have query (sample) like below, but SSIS is converting ID as Unicode String [DT_WSTR]. Why is that? and how to avoid this?

I am trying to use the derived column editor but since I am fairly new to this, I am getting my wires crossed. c
1. Remove the % sign from the string -- not sure if I should use TRIM, or REPLACE 2. Divide the value by 100 -- but don't I need to do some sort of type casting first? 3. Do a cast to convert whatever I got into the correct decimals -- perhaps this isn't required if I did step 2 as a typecast to decimals already?

Hi All, can someone help me, i've created a stored procedure to make a report by calling it from a website. I get the message error "241: Syntax error converting datetime from character string" all the time, i tryed some converting things but nothig works, probably it is me that isn't working but i hope someone can help me. I am trying to upload data from CSV to Sql table. I have a column as 'arrived_date' value '13:45' etc and while trying to load data i am getting error as "data conversion failed ,truncation may occur while loading data". In flat file connection this column datatype is string but in my table datatype is as time(). There is a error with conversion. I tried to change data type in advanced editor but no use. Using data conversion after flatfile makes my error disappear but it is giving error right at the file not even going through from file?
I have my SSIS package that reads elements from a Sharepoint list to a SQL table. The data type of my source is string and the destination is integer. The source column can sometimes be an empty string "" (not a required column)

Having trouble casting GETDATE() to a string value (DT_STR) using expression builder? I want to concatenate the current date to some text used in a send mail task.
In my source table, I have columns FirstName and LastName, both of datatype nvarchar. In my dataflow, I created two new derived columns mapped to these two columns. When pushing data to the source, I noticed that the FirstName column had a value of NULL while LastName was just an empty string (for rows that did not have any value).
My question is, why my source table column FirstName is showing a NULL value when the derived column datatype is string and the source is string? It should just be showing an empty string right?

Where the dropdownlists text = NAMEandDATE and its value = Course_ID When I select the LOC from the LOCdropdownlist, the dropdownlist in question updates, and an error "Erro converting datetime from character string" happens? Any suggestions?
I have create packages which loads the data from flat file to sql server table, now I want to make my destination table connection dynamic what is format of connection string. I also need to pass user name and password for sql server dynamically in this case, what is the format for the connection string.
Also in package i used ADO.net as source for *.mdb files how i can set the commection to .mdb files dynamically which is used as source in my package.

I am trying to create a stored procedure that Pulls in Chargeable and Non Chargeable hours for our employees however When I run the Stored Procedure I get this error "Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string." I am having a hard time figuring out were this is happening in the Stored Procedure. Also I would like to be able to Add a parameter that would be the StartDate and EndDate for which the stored procedure would pull time for.

I am using SSIS 2012 SP1 to import a comma delimited csv file into a SQL table.
One of the fields carries a time value:
Source = textfile, column=DT_STR(8), value format = "hhmmss", e.g. "011525" Destination = field in SQL table, data type = time(0)
To get it from the textfile to the SQL table I am:
1.) Creating a derived column called [d_Time of Entry]with the following formula -
SUBSTRING([Time of Entry],1,2) + ":" + SUBSTRING([Time of Entry],3,2) + ":" + SUBSTRING([Time of Entry],5,2)
2.) Performing a data conversion task to convert [d_Time of Entry] from DT_STR(8) to time(0) The upload fails because values that start with a zero, i.e. times before 10am, have their leading 0's stripped before being derived. You can see this because "011525" is derived as "11:52:5" when it should be "01:15:25".
I am downloading a webpage as a text file in order to read a specific string to assign it as a variable/parameter in order to create an output file name. I would like to know how would I be able to look for a specific string and output as another variable for the rest of the package.

To explain it a more better way, I have a sample webpage text here. I should be searching for "FullCountyLoanLimitList" appended by the current year (like FullCountyLoanLimitList2015) and copy the entire file name in the text file and assign it to another variable so that I can download that specific file using WebClient connection.
We are using lookup transformation in SSIS 2012. The lookup transformation queries a table with two date columns. When we hover the mouse over the two columns in the 'columns' tab of the lookup transformation editor, the two columns show as DT_WSTR instead of DT_DBDATE. Somewhere, either in the aspx.vb code, or the stored procedure that's being called, it doesn't like my code since I am getting the dreaded "syntax error converting datetime from character string" error. I've been battling this for two days - can someone spot what is wrong here?
