Is there any way to automate SSIS deployment? (SSDT for SQL 2014)
I created a SSIS project and a TFS build definition, but while the build succeeds there's nothing in the Build drop folder.
Hence a question - how to automate the deployment?
Ideally i'm looking to something similar to DB projects where VS (or Release Management) get the files generated by the Build and deploy them to the target DB.
We manage some SSIS servers, which has only SSIS and SSIS tools installed on them and not the sql server DB.
SSIS packages and configuration files are deployed on a NAS. We run the SSIS packages through DTEXEC by logging in to the server.
We want to allow developers to run their packages on their own on the server, but at the same time we dont want to give them physical access on the server i.e we do not want to add them into RDP users list on server properties. We want them to allow running their packages remotely on the server.
One way We could think of is by using powershell remoting and we are working on that. But is there any other way or any tool already present for the same.
For each row coming out of my data source, I would like to add the result of an Oracle query to it (select sequence.nextval from dual).
I need to acquire the sequence number before all my processes in my data flow, so I don't want to have a trigger in Oracle call nextval and do it automatically for me.
I also think getting the value of nextval inside of a variable at the beginning of the process would not work because it only increments the value once.
What is the best way of documenting SSIS packages?I am not interested in purchasing any software, any general template that covers the key information of any SSIS package that should be defined and documented.
I am currently moving everything from SQL Server 2005 SP2 to SQL Server 2012. I have a method for getting users, logins, roles and SQL jobs. But I also have to get copy all of the SSIS packages from 2005 to 2012. I know I can go to the 2012 SQL Server and click on the MSDN folder and choose import. However, this only enables me to import one package at a time. I have 95 packages. Is there a way to get them all from the 2005 SQL Server to the 2012 SQL Server in one shot? I am not a SQL developer nor am I a DBA but I have been assigned this task.
i am creating ssis packages with condition split . condition is SUBSTRING(EnglishProductName,1,1) == "A". pacakge is successfully executived but data is not move to condition split transformer to oldeb destinations. it not showing any error.
I've been working on an SSIS package trying to load some data and the archive sequence is faulty. I've been trying to load a few tables created in a previous sequence into a local archive file and I've been getting the error "Could not find a part of the path."
The results aren't telling me what it's finding last and so I don't know where to start.
And the source DOES have data in it. It's something between the source and the destination.
I have around 500 packages (SQL 2005) deployed in file system & all this packages are running on daily basis via SQL agent. Now I need to migrated all 500 packages into SQL server 2008 R2.
There is no inventory to track which package belogs to which team and any other information.
Now, I need a method to query the pakages connection string details with database respective. Is there any method?
I have created for each container to call all the packages in a folder like below, also created a variable.
Then I add execute package task inside of foreach container and selected file system in a location and in connection called currently creating package name finally in connection properties i added variable in expression which i created and mapped into for each loop container. I referred below link
[URL] ....
All the packages are running but its not ending once all the packages executed its re run and continue the running process, how to stop once all the packages execute.
We are building a dataload application where parameters are store in a table. And there are multiple packages for each load. There is a column IsChecked column if it is 1 then only the child package should execute.Created a master package. In which i have taken execute SQL task in that storing a results in variable and based on the result the child package should execute. But In executesql task i selected result set as full result set. I am getting the below error.
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "SELECT isnull(ID ,0) AS ID FROM DataLoadParameter..." failed with the following error: "The type of the value (DBNull) being assigned to variable "User::LoadValue" differs from the current variable type (Int32). Variables may not change type during execution. Variable types are strict, except for variables of type Object.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
Is there a way to change an image data type? I want to make a change to some deployed SQL 2008 SSIS deployed packages. I have a TSQL SELECT that searches the packages for a string. But I would like to be able to change a string. I have googled it but cannot find anything.
I have (6) sequence containers, each with a data flow task and script task. The script task renames the file and the data flow uses an OLE DB Source connection to export to a flat file using the Flat File Destination connection. For sI have been unable to move from the 1st sequence container to the 2nd (and the next and so on...). I am trying to do this "on success" (on failure I generate an email notification within each container), but am apparently missing a piece to this because after the sequence container executes, which it does successfully, nothing happens.
We have Sequence generator (Next Value) enabled for surrogate keys (SQL Server 2012). When we use the new SCD task, we get the following error:
[Insert Destination [42]] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005.An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "NEXT VALUE FOR function cannot be used if ROWCOUNT option has been set, or the query contains TOP or OFFSET. ".
Is there any know issue that these two features [SCD task and Next Value] cannot be used together?
I am working on 1 POC project.I have 2 customer having source file in txt format, but the column sequence of both customer are diffrent.Number of columns in all files are like below.
CustA
ID NAME AGE 1 VIPIN 29
CustB
ID AGE NAME 2 29 jayesh
As per source file you can see that CustA have column sequence ID,NAME,AGE and CustB Have ID,AGE,NAME sequence .I have target table #Temp with ID,NAME,AGE sequence.Like that I have many files from both customer, I have to load in ID,NAME,AGE sequence from all source file to target table. How can we change the sequence of source column before loading to target table.
I have a sequence container in my Package and this sequence has more than one control flow tasks.
Can I create the checkpoints such that only the failed component inside the sequence container runs again and not the other successful components/tasks in the sequence container?
An Execute SQL task returns one row with two values that are correctly stored into variables.
Based off those two variables, a sequence container is chosen to execute.
That sequence container then does magic. The last step of the container has an execute SQL task that runs and stores the result in a variable - let's call this[User::result] with type Int32.
Based off the value in [User::result] one of two final tasks run. A non zero value executes one task; a zero value executes another. Basically,SOMETHING runs after this.
Simple? I thought so... except Step 4 doesn't work. If I set a post-execute breakpoint on the sequence container, the variables are populated as expected, but nothing else runs. If I add another task to run (without a conditional expression) to run after the sequence container completes, the pre-execute breakpoint shows the data looking exactly as I expect.
Those script tasks are just MessageBox.Show calls and the expression, as you can see, doesn't use variables at all.
I have multiple sequence containers in my package. I only want to have one sendmail task for the failure/completion of the package. If I put the sendmail task in the last sequence container and the first seqence fails, the sendmail task will not be reached and therefore, no email will be sent out.Is there a way to have one sendmail task for all the sequence containers and allow it to send mail regardless of what sequence fails/completes?
I have a sequence container with 2 task into. If one of the tasks alert a failure then the sequence container should alert a failure too, but it doesn't. For testing I forced the error with setting the attribute ForceExecutionResult to Failure for one of the tasks. The task fails, but the sequence container succeeds.
I tried:
- changed the Precedence Constraints from AND to OR between the 2 tasks into the sequence container - changed the attribute FailPackageOnFailure setting True - changed the attribute FailParentOnFailure setting True
I have a fuzzy lookup in Integration Services Packages that does not seem to run. I am pulling data from a table in sql server 2008 R2 and comparing results to data from another table in sql server (same database & instance) using a fuzzy lookup for match similarities between the data sets. When my data flow task reaches my fuzzy lookup, a DOS box pops up for a second and then my packages finishes with a message of "Finished. Cancelled". The last message in my execution results displays: "Information: Execute phase is beginning". Again, there are no excel files being processed or utilized in this package. I've tried running my packages both in 32 bit and 64 bit mode.
I'm pretty new to SSIS but I've managed to cobble together a number of individual packages to refresh SQL tables from a 3rd-party database.
Now, what I'd like to do is have a single package that I can use to invoke each of the individual ones. Since it will run on a quad, I'd like to invoke them such they'll run in parallel.
I have 5-6 table and wanna to make sure if I'm using any of them in my Packages and I do have 100 Packages.shortest way to search these tables in Packages.
Would please any expert here give me any guidance about what Data Mining tasks can be automated and scheduled via Integration Services Packages? Also, If we automated the tasks, can we also automatically save the results of the tasks somewhere? Like if we automate assessing the accuracy of a mining model, then we wanna know the mining model accuracy later, therefore, we need to save all these results from the automated actions. Is it possible to realize this?
Thanks a lot in advance for any guidance and help for this.
I have a MASTER package containing multiple packages using execute package task in SSIS.When am running this MASTER Package in Sql server agent in SSMS, am getting error as below.
steps how to run this and let me know what information am missing to run the Master package.
ERROR :Failed to decrypt protected XML node “DTS: Password” with error 0x8009000B “Keynot valid for use in specified state”. You may not be authorized to access this information.
This error occurs when there is cryptographic error. Verify that the correct key is available.
I want to achieve the following in (SSIS/SSDT for SQL 2012) -
I have a generic SSIS package which simply sends out email notifications using SMTP email task (this package is within its own project, and has project level input parameters).
I need to be able to call this package in the Event handler section of every package (numbering in about less than 60) that we have. These packages are within their own respective projects.
I thought I could use the "execute package task", but it turns out , using this, I cannot call a package that is part of some other project. I also cannot call a package that is stored in the CATALOG. Is there any way I can do this ?
When I call the child package , I should be able to send in parameters like - error information and package name of the Parent package.
Our application drives SSIS packages from ASP.NET web services. To alleviate some of the package load time overhead application caches SSIS Application object and several instances of "pre-loaded" packages in ASP.NET Application context. As needed the code uses cached SSIS Application instance to execute "pre-loaded" packages. Is this thread-safe?
