I have two records in the source with information ID, RevisionID, Description, Region
There are two lookup files one with ID,Description amd other with ID, Region
I wish to update my two source records with performing lookup with these two files.To get the correct description and region data. How to do this in ssis DFT.
I have an Excel file which contains some data. I want to load that into a SQL server Table. Here are my conditions :
1. If the table doesn't have any matching records from the Excel file, then my DFT should load the data from that Excel to the Dest Table.
2. If the table has even one or more matching records, then the DFT should not process at all, instead I should send an email to the business stating that there are some matching records and hence the package is not process...ed.
P.S. If i use Lookup, I have two matching and non-matching output. which will process the non matching records into the table and matching can be redirected to any flat/Excel file. But i don't want to do this. I just want to lookup the Sql Server table and excel.
It'll be good if there is an additional option in the Lookup "Fail component on matching records".
I work in the healthcare area, and am handling the survey data ETL's. There are around 8 different survey areas and based on information received from them for the visit they reference, I want to pull in more info from our invoicing database. My idea is this:
1.) Pull in the flat file to an ODBC staging table
2.) Cache all invoice records that fall between the MIN(Date of Service) and MAX(Date of Service) from the staging table.
3.) First lookup the information needed on patientID, providerID, date of service, and billing location.
4.) For the surveys that didn't match on those 4 columns, try looking up based on patientID, date of service, and billing location (since I could be 99% sure this would still return the record I need).
5.) For the remaining surveys, lookup based just on patientID and date of service. These records will be flagged for manual review because clearly, if a patient has multiple appointments in the same day, this will be prone to error.
However, in trying to use only 3 of the columns in the lookup, I get the error saying basically that I need to utilize all 4. Is there a way around this, or is there an entirely different way I should be approaching this? The reason I thought cache transform was the answer is because I will need to run a different package for each lookup, as the data and logic between each survey will vary, but the invoice data "pool" will stay the same regardless.

I need to move specific files from a server to another server on a monthly basis. There are hundreds of files that are in the source directory and I need to move approximately 40 of those to the destination server. I would like to easily add or delete the file list as needed. I have seen where several variables were created for for each file name (and one for the path) and the ForEach Loop would go through them. With 40 or more I was thinking that I could make a connection to an Excel spreadsheet or text file with a record for each file name and read in and and move to the next record and make that value become the content of a "FileName" variable. Then if I wanted to add another file name I could just add another record to spreadsheet/text file or remove and the package would handle automatically....

I have created an SSIS package which processes daily financial information to a sql server database. These processes are to be outputted to excel spreadsheets to a readable report format for management to review. Some of these reports are laid out in a way that is not just tabular output but requires customized placement of data on an excel spreadsheet to specific cells.
I am able to place an initial resultset of a query output from the database in a tabular excel template through SSIS but the issue is at the end of that placement in the spreadsheet I am required to place another output below that tabular output in a different format from the initial output which I have shown below.
My Requirement ,In Source Database 5 tables are there ( Emp,Loc,dept,Time,Product ), Destination is Single Excel file.But Dynamically how to load each table information to load into each sheet wise through SSIS Package?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a delimited text file with 650+ columns. The sum of the column lengths of a single row, if fully populated, exceeds 30K bytes. The "killer" fields lengthwise are the "Description" fields. If they were removed from the input file, the remainig columns would occupy about 5000 bytes, which is within SQL max row length.
Can SSIS be used to created these two tables? (one without description fields, the other with those field but arranged vertically in the table rows).
The fundamental issue is I can not import a single file row into a sql table because that row length could exceed the max byte count for a row.
I have multiple xml data file in a directory say C:XMLData abc1.xml, abc2.xml, abc3.xml etc.
Need to loop through each file in ssis with Foreach loop container, and get the file name say abc1, and load the data of abc1.xml to abc1 table in sql server DB.
Next iteration will pick up the abc2.xml and find the abc2 table in sql server DB then insert the data in abc2 table.
While each iteration, xml source should also point each xsd file correspondingly.
Tables are already created in DB
I solved my problem up to getting the file name from ech iteration and assigned file name to variable, in oledb destination data access mode I select Table or view name variable, then corresponding table will get selected for data insertation.
Just wanted to know how can I read each xsd file for each xml data files while iteration.

I'm building a package to import data from a flat file into a Customer table, and I have set up a Lookup to check if that customer already exists in this table, and if so, perform an Update command instead of the bulk load. I don't expect many updates, if any, this is why i just used the OLE DB Command instead of using a staging table.
I've a bit of a problem executing this within a transaction and having the lock table option set on the SQL Server Destination. Is there anyway I can get Transaction support for this Data Flow working, as I want to be able to rollback a complete file/import if possible.

I have a fuzzy lookup in Integration Services Packages that does not seem to run. I am pulling data from a table in sql server 2008 R2 and comparing results to data from another table in sql server (same database & instance) using a fuzzy lookup for match similarities between the data sets. When my data flow task reaches my fuzzy lookup, a DOS box pops up for a second and then my packages finishes with a message of "Finished. Cancelled". The last message in my execution results displays: "Information: Execute phase is beginning". Again, there are no excel files being processed or utilized in this package. I've tried running my packages both in 32 bit and 64 bit mode.

I am using a lookup and full cache, occasionally i get this warning:[Lookup [150]] Warning: The component "Lookup" (150) encountered duplicate reference key values when caching reference data. This error occurs in Full Cache mode only. Either remove the duplicate key values, or change the cache mode to PARTIAL or NO_CACHE. Now I know it is only a warning but it is highlighting a real issue.Is there a way of capturing that this has happened?

I have created variable @[User::CustId] with Int32 datatype, having default value 2 when I am trying to evaluate below query I am getting error

Error. The Data types "DT_WSTR" and "DT_I4" are incompatible for binary operator "+".
The operand types could not be implicitly cast into compatible types for the operation. To perform this operation , one or both operands need to be explicitly cast with the operator.
We have 10 sheets in Excel File and 10 sheet contains errror data. How to load 9 sheets data in to 1 destination and error data in to other destination?

I would like to be able to dynamically set the table that the Lookup Transformation is connecting to at runtime.I've looked into the "Use results of an SQL query" on the connection screen (which correlates to the "SqlCommand" property), but I'm unable to pass in a parameter this way.I've also looked into the SqlCommandParam, but that doesn't allow me to use a parameter in the "FROM" clause of the sql syntax.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm currently loading a package that does a lookup on a column of data type nvarchar(4).The values itself are (A+, A, B+, B, C, D, /). The strange lookup behaviour is happening for each of the cases, so it's not related to a specific value. After trying to put the cache on NO CACHE, the lookup works perfectly. When using the default FULL CACHE the strange behaviour happens. Could it be related to the data type? I have not yet tried to use a CHAR instead of a NVARCHAR but it looks like people have similar issues using CHAR.

I'm performing the incremental load.In the lookup transformation i used the destination table for the reference using Full cache mode.For the first time package executed successfully but when i executed the package second time, Suddenly Package hangs while running.Than i truncate the data from the destination table and restart the SQL Server Services.After doing all this i executed package again and it worked but when i executed package second time, again package hangs up .I have 8GB RAM and i5 2.5 GHz Processor laptop.

My report has two data sets that hold inventory from two different departments.

I have a table, that pulls the DeptB status of DeptA record and displays it. This returns empty when the lookup fails to make a match, which is fine. Typically means DeptB does not have the record yet. I need to count these empty (null) feilds and populate it in a Text box outside of the table.
I just can't figure out the syntax with multiple datasets. I can't use the lookup expression as part of the count expression since the count expression is not contained in a table that has a dataset.

I run SSIS using DTEXEC command. The output of the SSIS are getting truncated after X caracters.
This is a typical message which doesn't really debug. (as the full path would show me the DB name...)

Suppose in my table i have 300 records. In that 300 records i want to update first 100 records with today's date. 101 to 200 records with yesterday's date and 201 to 300 records with tomorrow's date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a small number of rows in a dataset, Table 1. There is a CLOB on a large dataset, Table 2. They join on a PK. I would like to retrieve this CLOB and add it to the data flow for Table1. In short I want to emulate the following:
Table 1: Small table without CLOB, 10 rows.
Table 2: Large table with CLOB, 10,000,000 rows
select CLOB
from table2
where pk = (select pk from table1)
I want this to return the CLOBs for the small number of rows in Table 1. The PK is indexed obviously so it should be a fast look up.
Table 1 and Table 2 live on different Oracle databases. How do I perform this operation efficiently in SSIS? It seems the Lookup and Merge Join wont do this.
