Integration Services :: SSIS Balanced Data Distributor Not Visible In Visual Studio 2013
Oct 28, 2015
I've used the Balanced Data Distributor with Visual Studio 2010 and SQL Server 2012 successfully. I've now installed BIDS 2013 and I'm trying to get the Balanced Data Distributor to appear again in the SSIS Toolbox.
I've installed the x86 and x64 version and it won't appear. I've tried the new version which is supposed to have a fix for some SQL Server 2008 issues but I get the message:
The installation is not successful. Check the following prerequisites: 1. Either Integration Services or BIDS has to be installed. 2. The version of these components has to be either SQL Server 2008 SP2 (or future SPs) or SQL Server 2008 R2 (or future SPs).
That seems this version only works for SQL Server 2008.
Basically i'm trying to create an SSIS workflow to download Sharepoint List data to SQL Server on a schedule of some kind.do we actually have to use the GAC install approach in order to get the Sharepoint List Destination and Sharepoint List Source entries to appear on the SSIS Project workflow entities?
I installed the Feature Pack Balanced Data Distributor control on my PC to use with SQL Server 2014 64 bit. I have used the control with SQL Server 2014 and SSDT so I was familiar with the process. Unfortunately, I cannot get the control to appear in the toolbox. No error messages appear, BDD just doesn't appear in the toolbox. I have tried un-installing, reinstalling, installing SQL Server 2014 SP1, installing again, rebooting a number and nothing works. The control just does not appear in the toolbox. It doesn't not appear when I go to choose items either. What does it take to get BBD to appear in the SSIS Toolbox for VS?
I have an assignment where I am asked to create a test report with Cascaded parameters in a report for use on an Intranet. Found a good guide on a site named slqtips. The only problem is, that when I have created my data source, my data sets and my queries, I should go to the window "Report parameter properties", for specifing the data which should be included in the choices in the report, and I cannot find it! As a matter of fact the milieu I work in, Report designer in Visual Basic Studio Shell 2013, on a MS SQL 2012 Server, looks different in many way compared to the guide. It actually also differs from the Pictures in the book "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services" I also try to use for the purpose.Am I perhaps working in the wrong place, or what can the problem be? Is this Visual basic 2013 Window some kind of upgrade which is different from the original version where you used to work with Report designer?
i never used SharePoint before, only for update some Excel files. But now, I want to extract the Excel Data from SharePoint 2013 to my SQL database. I'm thinking use the Excel Source to do that, however I'm having very errors to achieve that.
I want to do some ETL on data from the Excel files.
I created an ODBC to Lotus notes server and database. This ODBC connection works, however, when I put the ODBC into SSIS and test the connection my visual studio 2010 crashes and has to restart. Is there a fix I am missing on my VS2010? Or am I doing something wrong in my SSIS project?
Our project is on SSIS 2012 and we are using the project deployment model. We have parameter the connection managers, created environments, environment variables and configured the references. Hence, when we deploy the solution to higher environments, the connection strings are picked from the environments and not the ones stored in the connection manager.
However, we face issues when in development environment, we need to run the same package but by entering the values manually in the connection manager. Even though the connection details are correct, when we execute the package from Visual Studio, SSIS is not able to connect to the database. Is there any way to have SSIS prompt for the connection details after we have click on "Execute Task" or "Start" from Visual Studio?
Is there any way to automate SSIS deployment? (SSDT for SQL 2014)
I created a SSIS project and a TFS build definition, but while the build succeeds there's nothing in the Build drop folder.
Hence a question - how to automate the deployment?
Ideally i'm looking to something similar to DB projects where VS (or Release Management) get the files generated by the Build and deploy them to the target DB.
I'm attempting to connect to a database file through visual studio 2013 Ultimate. The .mdf file is located on my local drive inside the App_Data folder of the project. However when I try to connect to the file it fails and throws an error message (see below).
“The attempt to attach to the database failed with the following information: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 50 - Local Database Runtime error occurred. The specified LocalDB instance does not exist.”
I've got a SQL2008 database with 2008R2 Express loaded.
In VS2012 if I right click a table and select New Query, I get the Visual Designer.
In VS2013, same database, I get a blank page
I've tried a fresh install of 2012 and 2013 onto a fresh Win8.1, same thing. SQL2012 Express, same. If I use an LocalDB option, again no tools. I've tried Ultimate to see if it's something not in Pro.
Also the "code only" query doesn't connect me to the file properly, so even if I accept doing the query by hand, I have to paste a connection string every time.
I'm expecting it to do as per VS2012, and the VS2013 pages in [URL] My database is an attached file from an ASP.NET project App_Data folder.
I am using Visual Studio 2005 SP1, SQL Server Developers Edition, Both installed recently and updated completely on an XP SP2 workstation (again all updates installed, the necessary ones at least) The issue I am having is when I try to load a solution for Integration services an error message box appears with the following:
An error prevented the view from loading. (Microsoft Visual Studio)
===================================
The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) (System.Windows.Forms)
This issue was of course occurring before the reinstall of both Visual Studio and SQL Server DE. The issue also extends to creating new projects, in which I am not able to...so the frustration is a little high at the moment, any help would be great...
I have all this gray space at the top of my tasks. When I <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Left-click> to select all of my tasks and then try sliding it up, it creates even more gray space and actually moves it down. If instead when I <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Left-click> and then <Ctrl>+<Arrow-up> it doesn't move it. Is there any easy way to eliminate all this gray space at the top?
In previous versions of BIDS we were able to customize the DataFlow toolbox to incorporate the Oracle Source and Oracle Destination items - however, it appears this is no longer the case in SSDT (no option to customize toolbox). I've installed the 3.0 Microsoft Connectors for Oracle - when I create a new connection in the Connection Manager I can see the Attunity drivers, but under Other Source/Other Destinations in the Toolbox I cannot find the Oracle Source/Destination components.
I have visual studio 2005 and sql server 2005 with integration service installed on my machine. Couple of days ago, I installed visual studio 2008 professional. When I go to create SSIS project I dont see it in visual studio 2008. What do I have to do to make it appear in visual studio 2008 so that I can create SSIS projects.
I have outlook 2013 installed on my machine, I want to automate the download of an attachment which I receive on daily basis from noreply@test.com. I have created a rule in outlook to reroute these mails in a specific folder named Received_Test.Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them.
I am using sql server 2005 standard edition and i have installed MSXML core services 6 and also ADOMD.net for analysis services. i am using visual studio 2005 version of 8.0.5072742 and the problem that i am facing is when i use to develop reports using Analysis services as a data source , the error message pops up and VS 2005 gets crashed.
i could define the dataset , layout part and when i prees the preview , it gets crashed. could any one help me on this problem to sort out.
I've created some SSIS packages and made sure that they work correctly.
I've tried both copying these packages to the server using "Save a copy" and building and running a deployment package.
When I open management studio and connect to the Integration Services instance, I'm not seeing what I expect to see. There are no items under Stored package and I can't even expand the folder.
I'm sure the packages are on the server though, because within the Business Intelligence Studio, if I choose "add an existing package", my packages are visible under the SSIS folder.
Is this a security issue? Possibly we've installed Integration Services incorrectly?
I am trying to integrate Sql Clr with Visual studio 2005, but i am getting the following error when i try to deploy the solution:
CREATE ASSEMBLY for assembly 'SQLCLRIntegrationDemo' failed because assembly 'SQLCLRIntegrationDemo' is not authorized for PERMISSION_SET = EXTERNAL_ACCESS. The assembly is authorized when either of the following is true: the database owner (DBO) has EXTERNAL ACCESS ASSEMBLY permission and the database has the TRUSTWORTHY database property on; or the assembly is signed with a certificate or an asymmetric key that has a corresponding login with EXTERNAL ACCESS ASSEMBLY permission. If you have restored or attached this database, make sure the database owner is mapped to the correct login on this server. If not, use sp_changedbowner to fix the problem. SQLCLRIntegrationDemo
I have even set the Permission to External in the Project --> Properties --> Database tab. But still i am getting the above solution while deploying the solution.
One of the blogs suggested that the checkbox beside 'Trustworthy Database' should be checked. But i dont see any checkbase in the database tab of the Project properties.
I am trying to import an xlsx spreadsheet into a sql 2008 r2 database using the SSMS Import Wizard. When pointed to the spreadsheet ("choose a data source") the Import Wizard returns this error:
"The operation could not be completed" The Microsoft ACE.OLEDB.12.0 provider is not registered on the local machine (System.Data)
How can I address that issue? (e.g. Where is this provider and how do I install it?)
someone please tell me how im using primavera V5.0 (www.primavera.com) and i want to export the data from the .net to primavera and versa versa please tell me soon
I have had a heck of a time trying to get SQL Compact Edition 3.5 working in by Visual Studio 2008 environment. I (now) know it comes along with Visual Studio 2008 by default, however, I didn't realize that at first and went and installed one of the SQL Compact Edition MSI's that were available from MS download. Since then I am unable to create a new compact edition database (Add New Item...) in visual studio it says:
The data provider required to connect to the local data file could not be found. The file will be added to the project but the typed DataSet associated with the file will not be generated.
Also, When I try to create a new connection under server explorer, I notice the SQL Compact Edition is not a data source option.
I am running the relased build from the MSDN download iso: en_visual_studio_team_system_2008_development_x86_x64wow_dvd_X14-26382.iso
I have uninstalled the seperate install of the SQL Compact Edition and run repair on the visual studio 2008 installer and it does not fix the problem. I have seen a reference that says the design time installer should be under Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0Common7IDE, but it isn't in my install. I did find it on the source DVD under the folder WCUSSCESSCEDeviceRuntime-enu.msi.
After running that, I no longer get the original error message. Now I get a little further and then the Data Source Configuration Wizard comes up and says
An error occured while retrieving the information from the database:
SQL Server Compact is either not installed or the installation has been corrupted.
OK, so I look under C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server Compact Editionv3.5 which install from the DVD (WCUSSCESSCEDeviceRuntime-enu.msi.) created and notice a readme file that inside has a link for downloading and installing the Runtime for Desktop computers.
Thinking that perhaps the runtime is a seperate install from the design tools I follow the link and setup starts. At this point I notice that the set says Compact Edition 3.5 BETA - hmm that doesn't seem right so I cancel. Not sure why the final product for the design tools would have a readme that points to a download link for the BETA of the runtime, but going back to the DVD I see the file WCUSSCESSCERuntime-enu.msi and run it. This time it says it will install Compact Edition 3.5 - looks good no BETA.
Finish the instal and viola! it works....
So what worked for me in the end:
1) Uninstall any other installs of Compact Edition 3.5 you might have 2) repair visual studio 3) install the design tools from the DVD WCUSSCESSCEDeviceRuntime-enu.msi. 4) install the runtime fgrom the DVD WCUSSCESSCEDeviceRuntime-enu.msi.
I'm using Script Component to load data into Oracle DB due to the poor performance issue. Now, I found it will missing some data during the transmission. Please see the screenshot below:
I setup this package to import data from a Sharepoint list to a SQL Server data table. The primary key of my SQL table is mapped to the Title column of my Sharepoint list. There is a possibility that duplicate values will be entered in the Title field of the Sharepoint list. So when importing data into my table via SSIS, my package always error-out when there it comes across duplicate values. how you others have managed data integrity when importing from a Sharepoint list with the Title column being mapped to the primary key of a table.
Im newto SSIS. I want to develop package for data validation.
FirstName
1. Mandatory field checking: if Null, reject the record 2. If field length > 50, then reject the record
SSN
1. If field length > 12, then reject the record 2. If SSN is not in valid format, issue warning and process rhe record without SSN value. 3. Valid format: 9 digit numeric values should present after striping off all non-numeric characters. 4. Only send 9 digits to MDM
Like these i have 30 rules. And I have to shop the error msg if the validation fails like "Mandatory feild is missing".
I am using flat file as source.I have quantity column in flat file which is a Numeric datatype and target table quantity datatype is Numeric.
I am able to load data from source to target but when I am comparing data from source to target I am not getting exact record from source flat files Source having data like
as we can see that data are not matching with source I can not change the target table quantity data type, is there any thing which I can do with source column data type.
