Integration Services :: SSIS Execute Perfectly But Not Insert / Update In Destination Table?
Nov 25, 2015
I am using SSIS integration between two database. Both databases are sql server 2008. Â using many integration but getting problem in two only only two integration giving problem, both are executing perfectly and out put also not showing any error.
but destination table not inserted/updated anything.
first issue integration is using data flow task with oledb source and destination.Â
second one is using execute task with for-eachloop container.
The only way to add a new column to an existing mapping that I know is to go to advanced editor and refresh. This however keeps only the default mapping (where the field names match), the rest is wiped out, so need to restore the mapping manually after that. Risky and annoying at the same time. Is there any alternative?
I want only last yesterday data that's why i put the condition at oledb source and it working fine.It fetch previous day of data but at the time of lookup , it lookup all data from the beginning and provide the error of insufficient space.
1.how lookup contain only yesterday data.
2.What to do for lookup all data  (adding space is the solution or something else to do)
3.I want to transfer 100 of tables data everyday. this article is only for transferring one table data. For transferring the data of another table add dataflow task below to Apply stages update or add another sequence container.
TABLE_NAME DESC CODE tab1 table1 A tab1 table1 B tab1 table1 C tab2 table2 D tab2 table2 E tab2 table2 G...
First column values are table names which are already exists in target database. Next two columns[Desc],[Code]Â data gets populate from CSV file to table.
In this scenario, how to load tab1 data into the same table in destination and so on.
Which way will be more standard to accomplish this task? If its a script task using C#, looking for clear script to identify a value changes in the first column.
Have an SSIS package running great in 2008R2. It generates several flat files based on inline database queries. The first step of the package inserts a record into a log stats table and the last step of the package updates this record with the package name, run time and execution status. Now I need to add the records counts for each flat file to the log table.Â
Is there a way I can update one field for run counts with each of the counts for each file. So the [run counts] table column would look something like:
file1: 43522 file2: 645367 file3: 7883
Is it possible to store the record counts and flat file names in variables then concat them at the end when updating this record?
Or, is a better way to just insert/update a new record for each flat file step and log the counts for that file for its own record?
In either case, how I can capture the file count and pass that to the update statement.
IS that possible to get teh output of a execute sql task to excel destination.I have query which will comapre the data difference between two databses. It will comapre all tables in both databses and list out the difference in data by each table. I need to run this query using SSIS and need to get the output to a excel sheet...I have used the data flow task to run this query but my query is giving some error when used with data flow task. So i have used excecute sql task and need to write teh out put to a excel sheet.
I am trying to insert in table using execute sql task.
I want to pass value of Load_Frequency through parameter
But I am getting below error
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "Insert Into [dbo].[ETL_LOAD_MAIN] ( [Load_Fr..." failed with the following error: "The statement has been terminated.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly. Insert Into [dbo].[ETL_LOAD_MAIN] ( [Load_Frequency]Â ,[Load_Start_DateTime] ,[Load_Overall_Status]Â ) Values (?,getdate(),'In Progress')
I have a table is SQL server database A that is my source. I have another database B which is accessed via webservice call.(its a CRM server basically). My intention is to transfer data from A to B while B is accessible only via web service. I need to update existing one and create the missing one.
Currently I am using script component, and on every insertion of a row, i call the webservice to check if the record exist or not. If it exist I update it else create it using webservice call itself.
All this happen in Input0_ProcessInputRow(Input0Buffer Row) function.
Now this method is making 2n webserive call which is making the performance very slow. Â I want to optimize the approach. Is there a way where I can retrieve whole set of rows in source table in preexecute(), filter it and store it in a List. This way, i just need to check the list a perform update ro create accordingly preventing my webservice call.
How to optimize this or even some better approach?
Its actually a CRM server and I am trying to update and create contacts in CRM sync with a database.
I have requirement to update/insert the DPID based on the address which are passed as an input values. There are more than one address at the same time and I configured to get the address from the query which are correct and output of the address values will be stored as system object variable.I am then passing the system object variable to for each loop container and I have configured the collection and variable mappings as a variable for each input value.
when I pass the value manually to the web service task it works correctly. When I pass it as a variable to web service task it doesn't return any value.I have a data flow task which converts the ouput from web service task using the xml source converts it to oledb destination.I don't see any rows being written to the target table.
I set up a connection file in order to move data from sql to csv files. I should be at the last step, the data flow. but:I don't see any flat file in my destination assistant.
How do I add only new rows to a destination table (when copying a table from another database every night) ?Every night I am copying a number of tables from one database to another.I only want to insert news rows (that are not in the destination table, but are in the source table) to the destination table.I might normally drop the destination table and just copy over the whole table, but in this case rows can be deleted from the source table, but I want to keep these old rows in the destination table (to maintain history). So I only want to add in rows to the destination table that have been added to the source table since last time.I guess I could copy the whole of the source table to a temporary table in the warehouse, then use a T-SQL merge command to compare and just add new rows to the destination table- but suspect that this is not the best way.
I am using two database server. Both are sql server.Â
My task is :I want to insert data from server 1 table to server 2 table and update same when modified the existing data from server 1. is it possible to do the integration in single package.
I know to do insert and update seperately by ssis but need to do same with single task.Â
I am using SSIS 2014 and installed adapter for sharepoint list source and destination and when I refresh the toolbox I don't see them. Is there a way to manually add them?
I have to combine data from DB2 and SQL server and do some manipuation. I wanted to do union all and put in temp table for further manipulation. I created a temp table in control flow,Â
CREATE TABLE ##SiteTemp   (    LEVEL2 VARCHAR(20),    LEVEL3  VARCHAR(25)
Then I was trying to use that temp table for destination but I can do see that in destination. I have to automate the package and do that everyday. I read some blogs but did not understand how they did it. I did set retainsameconnection to true. I did find this thread but i did not understand how it was done. URL....
I have two OBL DB sources, Then I have Union ALL and then OLE Destination in data flow.I have the temp table code in Execute sql task.
The SSIS Package deletes the current week's data, reloads it with fresh data, then calculates the difference between the current week and last week.
The problem is that randomly, instead of deleting the current week, it will delete the previous week. This happens maybe 5-10% of the time. At least it does until I rebuild the package and import it into SQL Server again.
I'm guessing that the Execute SQL Task is not updating the value of the Week variable before it executes. I started with the source type being a variable. Then I decided to try Direct input and pass in the Week as a parameter (OLE DB Connection Type). That didn't work either.
Most recently I tried writing the Week variable to a table first, then having a sequence container with all the tasks second. Slightly better but I still saw the date was wrong 2 times in about 90 executions. I was hoping that writing the Week variable out to the database would force an update of any associated connections to it, but that didn't seem to work.
I have a requirement to take xml file, in case the number of column changes, it should not fail the package, rather it should load the data in destination table. Destination table could be altered separately depending on xml schema by the DB team in production.
How to execute ssis package from command prompt and also pass configuration file to it and set logging to ssis log provider for sql server. Writing all those options with cmd.
I have tried to incorporate 638 lines sql code inside the Execute SQL Task editor. But it is truncating the codes inside the Execute SQL Task (SQL command) in SSIS.write all 639 lines of codes in the Execute SQL Task Editor in SSIS.
SSIS package working fine directly.I got following error while execute SSIS package from C# console application.
The connection "{79D920D4-9229-46CA-9018-235B711F04D9}" is not found. This error is thrown by Connections collection when the specific connection element is not found. Cannot find the connection manager with ID "{79D920D4-9229-46CA-9018-235B711F04D9}" in the connection manager collection due to error code 0xC0010009. That connection manager is needed by "OLE DB Destination.Connections[OleDbConnection]" in the connection manager collection of "OLE DB Destination". Verify that a connection manager in the connection manager collection, Connections, has been created with that ID. OLE DB Destination failed validation and returned error code 0xC004800B. One or more component failed validation. There were errors during task validation.
Code :Â
  public static string RunDTSPackage()     {       Package pkg;       Application app;       DTSExecResult pkgResults;       Variables vars;       app = new Application();       pkg = app.LoadPackage(@"D:WORKPackage.dtsx", null);    Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DTSExecResult results = pkg.Execute(); }
I have recreate the application with again new connection in SSIS. Still not working.
I have created for each container to call all the packages in a folder like below, also created a variable.
Then I add execute package task inside of foreach container and selected file system in a location and in connection called currently creating package name finally in connection properties i added variable in expression which i created and mapped into for each loop container. I referred below linkÂ
[URL] ....
All the packages are running but its not ending once all the packages executed its re run and continue the running process, how to stop once all the packages execute.Â
I have an execute process task set up to run ftp.exe and a script argument. Â The ftp.exe is referenced in the executable field without a qualified path. Â The package just seems to know it's there relatively. Â I need to change this to run a secured ftp executable that I recently installed on my pc. Â I put the new executable in the WindowsSystem32 folder where the old ftp.exe is stored. Â But when I put the new executable in the executable field, it says the 'File/Process "FTPS.exe" is not in path'. Â I get the same error when I fully qualify the path. Â Is there something I need to do with the new executable for SSIS to pick it up without having to fully qualify the path?
I have a requirement in which i have to create a custom .net class library for Ex:-I retrieve password(s) from a thrid party component. Below is what i am doing.
(1) Created a custom class library which reads a custom .xml file from a drive Ex:- "D:MyAppMYAppCofig.xml" and sets to my properties of my custom class library and inside it i created an instance of third party component's class and passed these values. Since i need to use this .net custom class library both in web and ssis/database side i am using this custom .xml file.
(2) After validating passed data (properties set in custom .net class library) the thrid party component instance object created in my custom .net class libraty returs a password to me own custom .net class libray.
(3) This password I use in my web app for connecting to database. This code is working fine.
(4) My question is how to execute a custom .net class library code through ssis and to use the my same custom .net class library and pass the password to my SSIS component / taks so that that code block also uses the returned password to connect and do any needed tasks? In other words how to use custom .net class library from SSIS.
My Environment is as follows:- SQL Server is : 2008 R2 VS.NET 2013
Each DFT have source > Tranformation > Conditionsplit > Rowcount_Transformation >  Oledb Command                                                                                 > Rowcount_Transformation1 > Oledb Command1                                                                                 > Rowcount_Transformation2 > Oledb Command2                                                                                 > Rowcount_Transformation3 > Oledb Command3
All update hapend on diffrent Table.I want to log in Audit table .
My audit table like
Table_Name  Insert_count Update_count
How can I log the package having multiple OLEDB Destination.
We are building a dataload application where parameters are store in a table. And there are multiple packages for each load. There is a column IsChecked column if it is 1 then only the child package should execute.Created a master package. In which i have taken execute SQL task in that storing a results in variable and based on the result the child package should execute. But In executesql task i selected result set as full result set. Â I am getting the below error.
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "SELECT Â isnull(ID ,0) AS ID FROM DataLoadParameter..." failed with the following error: "The type of the value (DBNull) being assigned to variable "User::LoadValue" differs from the current variable type (Int32). Variables may not change type during execution. Variable types are strict, except for variables of type Object.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
My source has 2.2 million of records. I'm performing the incremental load.In the lookup transformation i used the destination table for the reference using Full cache mode. For the first time package executed successfully but when i executed the package second time, Suddenly Package hangs while running.Than i truncate the data from the destination table and restart the SQL Server Services. After doing all this i executed package again and it worked but when i executed package second time, again package hangs up .I have 8GB RAM and i5 2.5 GHz Processor laptop.
I have a question about the new Integration Services of the MS SQL Server 2005.
Situation:
- SQL Server 2005 (standard edition)
- 2 tables with identical structure (same attributes) - the table €žTestSource€œ will be constantly extend (new records & updates).
- the table €žTestDestination€œ will just be refreshed by SSIS (Data Warehouse table)
I would like to create a Integration Service, witch refreshes the table €žTestDestination€œ with the data from table €žTestSource€œ.
Existing records (ID already exists) should be updated (UPDATE), not existing records should be created (INSERT).
I would like to use the IS Data Flow Task, because in future i won€™t just copy the data. I also will use Toolbox items like €žData Conversion€œ, €žDerived Column€œ and so on.
Alike I won€™t use an easy SQL-Query, because it would be complicated to make changes and to Log the transactions.
Just clear and refill the whole table is not possible because of performance and availability requests (large data).
Question:
How can I implement this workflow as Data Flow in a Integration Service?
I am using SSIS 2012 to dynamically backup stored procedures on a list of Servers and Databases. Here are the steps in my package,
1. Execute SQL Task: Captures a result set (configured to save the data set in an Object variable) with all the Servers and Databases on which stored procedures exist.
2. For each loop that is configured to get each each row(server name @[User::Server_Name] and databases name @[User::DataBase_Name]) from the object variable (@[User::Connection_Strings])and pass it to a connection manager that has an expression for servername and database name.
2a) Â Within the for each loop, i have an execute process task that is configured as
 i) Executable:  C:WindowsSystem32WindowsPowerShellv1.0powershell.exe  ii) Arguments:  Configured this to fetch value from an expression. The expression i am using is,'C:batch - CopyPowerShell Scripts to Backup Stored ProceduresScriptOutSPs.ps1' -$Server_Name "+ @[User::Server_Name]+ " -$Database_Name "+ @[User::DataBase_Name]        Note:  @[User::Server_Name] is the Servername from object variable and so is @[User::DataBase_Name] for database name . The execute task is to run a command line that triggers a powershell script with parameters. Here is the powershell script that i am using,
When i execute the script, by passing parameters from arguments, it executes successfully but nothing happens. Passing wrong arguments in the expression?
