Integration Services :: SSISDB Collation Change

The default collation for SSISDB is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. I had a question from a client today who asked if its possible to change it to French_CI_AS as they have issues with importing data from flat files using SSIS package. The issue they are facing is with different french characters and also numeric values with a scale... All their "user" databases are French_CI_AS as is the Instance collation.I'm guessing its not supported to change the collation of SSISDB as when i attempted on a "test" instance i get.

If its not possible to change the collation of SSISDB, Adding collate statement to each join in the ssis package??I cant find anything in documentation about this but maybe overlooked something...

We are upgrading from SQL 2008 R2 to 2014. I have a 2008 SSIS package converted in VS 2013 and deployed to MSDB as package deployment model. It ran ok from an agent job. However, after I converted the same package into project deployment model, converted the connection manager to project model, deployed the project (with the package) to SSISDB and applied environment variable for its configuration, the agent job failed for not able to acquire connection to what used to be the connection manager.
Both agent jobs run understand the same account on the server. The account has access to the databases that are connected in the packages. The job/packages has been running ok on 2008 R2 accessing the same db for years.
The environment variable for the connection string is defined as "Data Source=ServerABC;Initial Catalog=DB123;Provider=SQLNCLI11;Impersonation Level=Impersonate;"
Why can't the job connect to the database when it runs a package from SSISDB?

have a ASP.NET app that access the DBs in a SQL 2012 server. I added code to access the SSISDB but it returns an error " cannot open database SSISDB request by login"doing some basic troubleshooting:
-When login to SSM (2012-R2) with windows/sa credentials I can access SSISDB and its tables with no problem
-but when I try to access SSISDB via T-SQL as follows:
osql -Usa -Ppasswrod
>sp_helpdb...(this lists all the DBs including the SSISDB)
>use SSISDB
>go
>select * form TableName
>go
This script returns an error stating that SSIDB does not exist

By my customer, the jobs scheduler tool is Control-M.
I haven’t seen information about the SSISDB catalog but just the “old/classic” deployment for SSIS package on a SQL Server through msdb in the Control-M Documentation.
I writing a new achitecture concept for this customer with the SSISDB catalog.
How Control-M can work with a SSISDB architecture?
The version of Control-M is 8.

I've got an SSIS solution file with project deployment model in VS 2013 and would like to deploy that to SSISDB on different environments.All these days I followed the regular way to create a project in SSISDB and deploy it to that. Now want to find out if i can automate this process and so got some questions
1. Can we automate the process of creating a project on SSISDB based on our SSIS project name? This will be like when we do a deployment it should check if the project exists or not on SSISDB based on our SSIS project name, if the project exists we just deploy the packages in the project and if the project does not exists in SSISDB it will create that project and deploy the packages.
2. Can we also automate the process of creating environments? In traditional way we manually create the environment variables under environment tab of SSISDB, but can we make that also as part of deployment? Like when we are releasing to Dev server we look if that particular Dev variable exists on that server, if it exists we just update the existing stuff and if it does not exists we just create it.

I have a task where I'm dealing with Employee information. I load this data on a daily basis where I capture Name,Is_Active,Address information of the employee and I do truncate and load operation. Now I have a task to have a additional column called 'Statuschanged_dt' and have to capture the date when Is_Active changed from 'Yes' to 'No'. I know this can done in multiple ways like destination lookup, SCD and also CDC.

I am working on 1 POC project.I have 2 customer having source file in txt format, but the column sequence of both customer are diffrent.Number of columns in all files are like below.

As per source file you can see that CustA have column sequence ID,NAME,AGE and CustB Have ID,AGE,NAME sequence .I have target table #Temp with ID,NAME,AGE sequence.Like that I have many files from both customer, I have to load in ID,NAME,AGE sequence from all source file to target table.How can we change the sequence of source column before loading to target table.

Where ? is my input parameter variable migration_start which is a datetime.<o:p></o:p>
My issue is that variable name migration_start which give me default format of 6/11/2015 1:26 AM
But I expecting to get in 2015-06-11 01:26:22.813 format.<o:p></o:p>
How I can I change the datetime format of my variable to be (yyyy/mm/dd)hh:mm:ss)?<o:p></o:p>

I have my SSIS package that reads elements from a Sharepoint list to a SQL table. The data type of my source is string and the destination is integer. The source column can sometimes be an empty string "" (not a required column)
Which expression to use and "where" or "what" SSIS component can I add this expression to? Like I know that I can use the "Conditional Split" to filter the data so for my expression which component can I use?

I've deployed my ssis pkg to the server and created a sql job to run this pkg. So far, everything is fine. Today, I got a request to change some variables inside the package which is part of the .dtsconfig. I want to edit the deployed .dtsConfig but it won't allow me and always complained that this file has been opened by another program. I am sure i've closed my ssis designer and other notpad, why can't I edit and save .dtsconfig file?

I just converted several SSIS packages from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2012. The packages having issues are those that are SSAS process cube tasks.
When editing the tasks in SSDT for SQL 2008, there is "Change Settings" button/option. In SSDT 2012, there is no Change Settings option!
What happened to it? Even when creating new packages, this option is not available.

We ran into weird/interesting issue with below details.
Version: Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3000.0 (X64) Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 6.2 <X64> (Build 9200):
We are using SQLCMD to run DDL script on our product database in below order. That script has below content.
step # 1 - database collation change (case -sensitive) statement as very first statement of the script
step # 2 - Actual DDL SQL statements
step # 3 - database collation change back to original (case insensitive)
When we execute all above 3 steps in single script using SQLCMD on our test_server#1 , it is successful but when same is being implemented on test_ server#2 , it is failing.We ensured that there is no other user accessing the db and setting on both the server are all default/basic. Separating out all 3 steps in 3 different script working fine. This is only problem when we combine them into single script and fire it using SQLCMD. If it is something related to session/transaction then we should hit same issue on our test_server#1 server as well but that is not the case.test_server#1 and test_server#2 has exact same database/data, just two different physical machine & SQL Server instance.

I have implemented a package to load multiple files to a destination. Since the source was a txt file, i have created as flat file source. However now we are getting files in excel format as well.
Is there anyway the source gets changed dynamically based on the file extension, output of the foreach file enumerator? I can think one solution to have 2 dataflow tasks based on precedence constraining and expression one is for .txt and other one is for .xls.

I have a got a package with source as sql table which has got 50 columns. We are using only 10 columns out of this. Recently one column name has changed and thus throws error invalid mapping. When I open the source to do the changes noticed that all the colums are prselected now and also the datatypes got changed to default ( I had changed the datatypes as per my requirement while i developed). So now I had to select required columns from source and redo the datatype changes in advanced editor.Is there any option which doesnt disturb this settings and we just need to correct the mapping alone.

I'm currently working with a SQLServer instance that uses a case insensitive collation. In this instance we have a number of user databases that are created without COLLATE and hence 'inherits' the same collation as the SQL Server is installed with.
I have searched the forum and understand that I need to rebuild the master db in order to change the 'default' collation. However, I do not need to change the collation on the user databases that exist. I would just like to make sure that all new databases are created using the new collation. Can I rebuild the master database without loosing my existing user databases? And if so, will they run OK using case insensitive collation, if the master is using case sensitive?

I created a new server registration under my SQL Server Group. After creating the registration via EM, I looked under properties and the collation is SQL_Latin1_General_CP437_CI_AS. It needs to be Latin1_General_BIN because this is the collation order in the production server. Please bear in mind that I am not a DBA and this is all new to me, but unfortunately I'm the one who has to fix this. Please keep the terms simple in any response. Thanks.

Is there a way (besides "ALTER DATABASE COLLATE ...") to change collation name for the whole database? I tried to use the "ALTER DATABASE" command, but it didn't work. And I wouldn't like to run "ALTER COLUMN" commands for over 100 tables.

Problem is, the database collation is "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and some fields of some tables have the collation "Latin1_General_CI_AS". You know the Problem ... ;-)
As I don't want to change the columns one by one, I want to ask how can I change collation of all column in a table by 1 Transact SQL? Or how can I change the collation of all the tables?

[Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" and "Hebrew_CI_AS" in the equal to operation.
How can I change these tables to have the saem collation? I did not purposely make it different.
