Integration Services :: SSISDB Collation Change
Nov 9, 2015The default collation for SSISDB is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS. I had a question from a client today who asked if its possible to change it to French_CI_AS as they have issues with importing data from flat files using SSIS package. The issue they are facing is with different french characters and also numeric values with a scale... All their "user" databases are French_CI_AS as is the Instance collation.I'm guessing its not supported to change the collation of SSISDB as when i attempted on a "test" instance i get.

Integration Services :: Package Failed To Run From SSISDB But It Ran Okay From MSDB
Oct 5, 2015We are upgrading from SQL 2008 R2 to 2014. I have a 2008 SSIS package converted in VS 2013 and deployed to MSDB as package deployment model. It ran ok from an agent job. However, after I converted the same package into project deployment model, converted the connection manager to project model, deployed the project (with the package) to SSISDB and applied environment variable for its configuration, the agent job failed for not able to acquire connection to what used to be the connection manager.
Both agent jobs run understand the same account on the server. The account has access to the databases that are connected in the packages. The job/packages has been running ok on 2008 R2 accessing the same db for years.
The environment variable for the connection string is defined as "Data Source=ServerABC;Initial Catalog=DB123;Provider=SQLNCLI11;Impersonation Level=Impersonate;"
Why can't the job connect to the database when it runs a package from SSISDB?
Integration Services :: Cannot Open Database SSISDB Request By Login
Aug 1, 2015 have a ASP.NET app that access the DBs in a SQL 2012 server. I added code to access the SSISDB but it returns an error " cannot open database SSISDB request by login"doing some basic troubleshooting:
-When login to SSM (2012-R2) with windows/sa credentials I can access SSISDB and its tables with no problem
-but when I try to access SSISDB via T-SQL as follows:
osql -Usa -Ppasswrod
>sp_helpdb...(this lists all the DBs including the SSISDB)
>use SSISDB
>go
>select * form TableName
>go
This script returns an error stating that SSIDB does not exist

I writing a new achitecture concept for this customer with the SSISDB catalog.
How Control-M can work with a SSISDB architecture?

Nov 13, 2015I need to modify a .dtsx that is inside ‘Integration Services Catalogs’; I tried right-clicking + exporting… But I only see ‘Configure’, ‘execute’ or validate options… I thought I could export it, directly from there, modify it and import it againNow I accessed the Integration Services from the same server name, and it’s not there… How can I find out, where is that package from? Or is there a way that I can export it directly from ssms?

What is missing so that I can see this node in SSMS?

Integration Services :: Automate Process Of Creating A Project On SSISDB Based On SSIS Project Name?
Apr 20, 2015I've got an SSIS solution file with project deployment model in VS 2013 and would like to deploy that to SSISDB on different environments.All these days I followed the regular way to create a project in SSISDB and deploy it to that. Now want to find out if i can automate this process and so got some questions
1. Can we automate the process of creating a project on SSISDB based on our SSIS project name? This will be like when we do a deployment it should check if the project exists or not on SSISDB based on our SSIS project name, if the project exists we just deploy the packages in the project and if the project does not exists in SSISDB it will create that project and deploy the packages.
2. Can we also automate the process of creating environments? In traditional way we manually create the environment variables under environment tab of SSISDB, but can we make that also as part of deployment? Like when we are releasing to Dev server we look if that particular Dev variable exists on that server, if it exists we just update the existing stuff and if it does not exists we just create it.
SQL 2012 :: Error When Running SSISDB Execution Report
Nov 15, 2013Whenever you connect to a database server that is running SQL 2012 integration services, then you right click on SSISDB, choose "Reports, then Standard Reports, then Executions" there is a display of each execution and options to drill down.
There is a particular execution that when I click to see "All Messages" I get a blank screen in SSMS with the following error: "Error: and error occurred during local report processing. --> An error has occurred during report processing. --> Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown."
Before I go add more memory to this SQL box, I need to understand how an out of the box, canned SSRS report such as this, which is built into Integration Services could produce this issue?
How To Create A Report Snapshot From Integration Services

We have a datawarehouse that's built nightly through a number of Integration Services packages. I have several packages that compile and aggreage data used by a set of reports constructed and presented using Reporting Services. I would like to augment the packages to incorporate a step that will create a snapshot for each report. Can anyone provide a set of pointers or sample code to accomplish this?
The data is static and this method would allow the reports to be constructed before the first user runs them (caching would require them to be run once). I would also like to delete the snapshot if a report extract needed to be run again. This can occur in some occassions. I'd like to automate this as much as possible.
I imagine I'de be able to do this using a script task in SSIS that interactes with the reporting services web service in some way.

Jun 1, 2015I have created a report using SSRS 2012. To create a pdf report, I use SSIS 2008. When I run debugging in SSIS, the pdf report is generated correctly.
But when I run the SSIS as a job in SQL 2012, the pdf report is generated with o bytes. When I tried to open it with Adobe, there is error, something like - Adobe Reader could not open PPAA.pdf because it is either not supported file type or because the file has been damaged.
Integration Services :: How To Export SSRS Report To PDF From SSIS With Parameters
Sep 1, 2010I am trying to setup a process in which a user, who is using a vb.net 2008 application, will need to trigger the creation of two items. The first is SSRS report which will need to be exported to PDF format to a shared folder on the network.
This report accepts one parameter. The second thing that will need to be created at the same time is an excel file with data exported from SQL Server 2008 which is generated through an SSIS package. A couple things to note. The excel file and the pdf file need to have the same file name, other than the extension.
For example P00000001_20100831.pdf and P00000001_20100831.xlsx and will both be stored in the same network share. The filenames need to be created dynamically at run time and will be based on a parameter being passed to the report.
So far I have the portion that creates the excel file working fine. The way I create that is as follows. I have a stored procedure that creates a job which calls the SSIS package and passes the appropriate parameters to the SSIS package.
After the job is created I immediately run it and then delete the job. Ok, everything works fine with that.
Now I cant seem to figure out how to get the pdf created. If possible I would like to keep this portion together with the already created job or package. I am running SQL Server 2008 standard so the data driven subs are out. I have thought about create a time subscription and then just using a SQL task in the package to execute the subscription but couldnt figure out how to pass the parameter to the report and create the filename.
Creating Simple Report Using Reporting Services SP2 And SharePoint 2007 Integration
Feb 1, 2007I've been running around in circles all afternoon trying to create one simple report using Reporting Services (with latest SP2 installed) and SharePoint 2007. To the best of my knowledge, I have everything configured correctly:
When I access http://<server>/ReportServer, I see the server name of my SharePoint site.
When I click on the name of my SharePoint site, it shows me the directory structure I have created within my SharePoint Site
When I drill down in the directory, I can ultimately see the forms I created in my forms library (created via InfoPath 2007).
The next step is to create one simple report from the data in one of these forms libraries and a report on all the items within a form library. I'm stuck at the first step of creating a report, namely what to enter as the Data Source and the connection string. With a SQL database this isn't an issue.
How does one create a data source that will allow reporting over SharePoint content with the setup described above? And, if you have information that is found in the SQL Books Online, please be kind and post links so others know where to find this information.

I've created SSIS package and preformed steps described in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345250(SQL.100).aspx (after fixing version to 10.0.0.0).
Now I got next error when trying to add SSIS DataSource (in Report Designer - Visual Studio):
Error messageThe data extension SSIS could not be loaded.

I managed to design an Integration service package,but the desired level of performance has not been achieved(i.e it is performing slow).
So I want to know what are the best practices for optimized solution .
In my package I'm exreacting data from XML file and Storing it in SQL server database with some processing dring data flow.
I'm using
1) Two Script Task Control -In these control,I m opening the connection to XML file through VB.net code and
iterating each record at a time.
2)Two OLE DB Command -Each fetched record from script task component is processed in OLEDB command through
stored procedure and then inseted into database.
3)One for Loop -This loop contains two script Task control and two OLEDB Command control,
(mentioned above),for fetching single record and inserting it in database.
4)One derived Column
5)One Multicast
6)One Character Map
7)One OlEDB Source
As with my current performance I'm able to insert one record in every .5 second (Which is much below to acceptable limits)
Is control lying disabled on SSIS designer pane also affect the performance of execution.
SQL 2005 SP2 Reporting Services And Window SharePoint Services V3 Integration Config Issue

I have just install SQL 2005 SP2 and trying to get Window SharePoint Services V3 integrated with SQL 2005 SP2 reporting services.
In SharePoint Central Administration, I select the Reporting Services Integration page and have setup the Report Server Web Service URL and Authentication Mode. I then goto Grant database access, specify the SQL server name, get promted for a username and password that has access SQL Reportserver and get the following error "The group name could not be found"
Does anyone have any ideas?

Analysis Services 2005 Database Processing Fails When Run From Integration Services
Oct 11, 2007Hello, I have a problem when trying to fully process an SSAS database using Integration Services "Analysis Services Processing Task" task. I have 2 of these tasks which are responsible for processing the Dimensions then the Cubes. When I run the package either via the BIDS environment or on the local server from the Integration Services engine, I will get an error after about 20 minutes stating:
"Error: Memory Error: Allocation failure. Not enough storage is available to process this command""Error: Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when loading the <cube name> cube from the file \?D:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2OLAPDataMyWarehouse<cube file>.xml"
The cube name is not specific, it will fail and any of my cubes could be in the error log
If I fully process the AS database using the AS engine (logon to local AS server, right-click AS database and click Process), I get no errors at all, it processes and completes fine. The processing options are identical when I run in AS or via the SSIS "Analysis Services Processing Task" task.
I've searched quite a lot online but no joy, the information I have gleaned from various sites does not directly link SSIS with SSAS processing problems.
When either the AS processing starts via SSAS or SSIS the memory usage of MSMDSRV.exe increases to around 1.4 / 1.5 GB but never goes to 2GB ever, even when the error appears.
I've done the following with no effect.
" Have run via AS and works fine
" No specific cube it fails on
" Have created a Dimension only package, same problem
" Changed the maxmemorylimit
" Changed the connections to localhost
" Memory DOES NOT max out on server
Server Specs:
Windows Server 2003 Standard + Service Pack 2
4GM ram, 2GB paging file
SQL Server 2005 + Service Pack 2
Can anyone help?

Jul 14, 2014I need to extract the .ispac file from the SSISDB. I can retrieve the stream with catalog.get_project sp. However, the file I end up with cannot be unzipped, giving an error message. My guess is that it is meta-data on the zip/ispac file that has a problem, because I can actually unzip it with Winrar, but not with any of those I (programmatically) need to unzip it with.
Below is the code for my stored procedure - My own suspicion is in the BCP usage to turn the stream into a file.

I clean up some of those entries to keep the size in check or there is a max

We are the looking for details like, stored procedures or Views or other tables or Reports that are using the particular field or table. How can i capture those details and make it as an automated process, which updates when ever there is an add on in use or something else.

FT Indexing One Table ==&> Two Catalogs! POSSIBLE?
Feb 4, 2008I have currently one SQL FT catalog which indices couple of tables in on our server on nightly basis. It does a 'full' indexing of data as originally designed. Now the time it is taking to index all the data is unacceptable to user. I am working on it to make it index 'incrementally'.
But, for a short-term approach I want to find out, can we FT index a 'table A' in two catalogs on same SQL Server?

Full-Text Catalogs, Where To Locate?

looking for some views about where to place these catalogs. The manual says they work more effiecntly on a different drive to the database, which is understandable.
I'm in the processes of designing a new database application which is to be avaiable via the internet, and extranet app. But as I'm planning to host the app and the main database on a shared server but to have the catalogs on another server held in house. The app will have search facilities as its main use. They will obviously be some performace issues, but is this a good idea?
