View 4 RepliesI'm having trouble using a Progress database as a source. I have an OpenLink driver installed and a System DSN set up. I can successfully test the connection. I added this DSN to the connection manager and added it to a DataReader Source. I then added the SQLCommand property. I was able to map columns and such, so I believe the SQLCommand was successfully parsed. However, when I try to save the DataReader Source, I get an error:     Â
Error at Data Flow Task [DataReader Source [2266]]: System.Data.Odbc.OdbcException: ERROR [HY010] [OpenLink][ODBC][Driver]Function sequence error   at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcConnection.HandleError(OdbcHandle hrHandle, RetCode retcode)   at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.NextResult()   at System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataReader.Close()   at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipleline.DataReaderSourceAdapter.ReinitializeMetaData()   at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipleline.ManagedComponentHost.HostReinitialieMetaData(IDTSManagedComponentWrapper90 wrapper)
I want to connect to an Informix Database via SSIS to read and store data. I did some search online and have downloaded Informix ODBC Drivers. I installed the drivers and am trying to configure a System DSN but have few doubts on what each field indicate. URL... I am not sure on what to enter in fields like IBM Informix Server, Service Name? Connecting to Informix DB via SSIS?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect to a Web page from SSIS and I've tried both http connection manager and a Script Task but none of them seems to be working.
I get the following errors:
Through Script Component: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
Through http connection manager: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.
Here is one of the VB code I've tried:
Public Sub Main()
Dim MyWebClient As New System.Net.WebClient()
Dim proxyObject As New System.Net.WebProxy("BANANA:8080", True)
MyWebClient.Proxy = proxyObject
[Code] ....
And, here is one of the C# codes I've tried:
public void Main()
{
Variables varCollection = null;
Dts.VariableDispenser.LockForRead("User::RemoteUri");
Dts.VariableDispenser.LockForRead("User::LocalFolder");
Dts.VariableDispenser.GetVariables(ref varCollection);
varCollection.Unlock();

I could open the same web page mentioned in the code manually in all my browsers (IE, Firefox, Chrome).
I am using SQL Server 2014.
I've made connections in SSIS to Oracle before by setting up TNS but this latest connection is different.
I've been give an SSL cert that I had to import into the Oracle Wallet Manager and to get connected in 'Oracle SQL Developer' I had to choose connectionType = advanced and drop the following line in the JDBC URL section
jdbc:oracle:oci:@(DESCRIPTION =(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCPS)(HOST = server.domain.com)(PORT = 2484))(CONNECT_DATA =(SERVICE_NAME = XXXXX)))
So my question is. How can I go about making a connection like this in SSIS?
Just incase it matters, I'm working with OracleClient 11g

I have a very simply package using an Excel connection to an XLSX file. It's a straight read of the file and import onto a table.Â
The package works fine in Visual Studio 2008 development and also runs fine when executing on the (server I copied it to) under Integration Services. Â Â
However, under a SQL Agent, the package (32-bit is checked) can not acquire the connection to an excel file.  I use UNC pathing to the file. I've read other posts about similar problems and tried various scheduling options (including Owner of job).  Â
I even tried a to trigger it with a command-line which did not work:Â
"C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft SQL Server100DTSBinnDTEXEC.exe" /sq "our packagesMy_XLSX_File_Import" /SERVER myserver /X86Â /CHECKPOINTING OFF /REPORTING E
All errors are:  "DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "Excel Connection Manager" failed with error code 0xC0209302."Â
I'm having an issue connecting to an Oracle database using Visual Studio 2013 - Business Intelligence tools.I am running Windows 7 (64-bit), Visual Studio 2013, and have SQL 2012 Enterprise (64-bit) on my local machine. I downloaded the MS Connectors v2.0 for Oracle found here.  But when I try to add a new connection either through the connection manager or inserting a Data Flow Task and looking for the Oracle connections in the "Other Sources" or "Other Destinations" - neither option is available.I have the 32-bit Oracle client installed, the tnsnames.ora file has been created and I can connect to the Oracle DB through PL/SQL.I see Microsoft Connector for Oracle by Attunity 2.0 in my Programs list - installed for this file: Attunity SSISOra Adapters SetupX64.msi. don't know what else to try to get the connections available.

We have an Enterprise setup with multiple domains.
We a Domain A with SQL server 2008R2 say SQL-A and Domain B with SQL server 2008R2 ( SQL-B). It will be like SQL-A will always access SQL-B. Reverse is not required.
In Domain A we have a .Net Application which accesses SQL-A to perform CRUD operations which ultimately come to SQL- B since all SQL tables exist in SQL- B only.
Need to know the right way to implement Linked Server from SQL-A to SQL-B, so that Domain issues as well as DML execution work smooth.
I need not worry about DDL in SQL-A And SQL-B as it will taken care of by network and H/W team. I just need to focus on as developer.

Hi All,
Parameter passing in SSIS 2005 sometimes appears to be a cumbursome task. I have been digging into this topic for quite some time and here i note down some simple steps to demonstrate parameter passing at Package level.
(1) Create a SSIS project using Business Intelligence 2005 Or VS 2005.
(2) Create datasource (.ds) and Data Source View as required.
(3) A default SSIS Package by the name Package.dtsx is created. Double click this and you are shown tabs for Control Flow, Data Flow, Event Handlers, Package Explorer. On the Control Flow, drap and drop Execute SQL Task from Control Flow Items in the toolbar.
(4) Lets now create a variable at Package level. Right click anywhere in the control flow box (not on the Task created in Step 3 above). Click on the Variables on the context menu displayed. Variables window appears on the left of the screen. Click the Add Variable box in this window to create a variable. Name it var1 (or whatever you may like), Scope as Package, DataType as String and Value as MyValue. This is only the default value.
(5) Now let us edit the SQL Task created in Step 3. Double on it, on the General tab you can change its Name, Description. Set ResultSet as None. We shall proceed to execute a stored procedure by name MySPName and pass it a parameter. Set ConnectionType as OLE DB. Select the connection you creates in step 2. Set SQLSourceType as Direct input. SQLStatement as MySPName ? . Note the ? mark after the name of the stored procedure. This is important to accept the variable value (var1) created in Step 4.
(6) Select Parameter Mapping tab now. Click on Add button. Select the Variable Name as User::var1. This is the user created variable of Step 4. Select Direction as Input, DataType as Varchar and Parameter Name as @var1. Click on OK now.
(7) This sets up the basic of parameter passing. Compile the project to verify everything works. Right Click on the SQL Task and select Execute Task. This will execute the package taking default value of the variable. This can be used along with dtexec command with /set option to pass the parameter at command prompt.
I need to download a file from google Drive or open it, using SSIS but I have not found any reference about it. Is it possible? Is there a provider to connect to Google Drive.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHello, I have a problem when trying to fully process an SSAS database using Integration Services "Analysis Services Processing Task" task. I have 2 of these tasks which are responsible for processing the Dimensions then the Cubes. When I run the package either via the BIDS environment or on the local server from the Integration Services engine, I will get an error after about 20 minutes stating:
"Error: Memory Error: Allocation failure. Not enough storage is available to process this command""Error: Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when loading the <cube name> cube from the file \?D:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2OLAPDataMyWarehouse<cube file>.xml"
The cube name is not specific, it will fail and any of my cubes could be in the error log
If I fully process the AS database using the AS engine (logon to local AS server, right-click AS database and click Process), I get no errors at all, it processes and completes fine. The processing options are identical when I run in AS or via the SSIS "Analysis Services Processing Task" task.
I've searched quite a lot online but no joy, the information I have gleaned from various sites does not directly link SSIS with SSAS processing problems.
When either the AS processing starts via SSAS or SSIS the memory usage of MSMDSRV.exe increases to around 1.4 / 1.5 GB but never goes to 2GB ever, even when the error appears.
I've done the following with no effect.
" Have run via AS and works fine
" No specific cube it fails on
" Have created a Dimension only package, same problem
" Changed the maxmemorylimit
" Changed the connections to localhost
" Memory DOES NOT max out on server
Server Specs:
Windows Server 2003 Standard + Service Pack 2
4GM ram, 2GB paging file
SQL Server 2005 + Service Pack 2
Can anyone help?
Andy
if someone can throw light regarding the metadata repository creation,its usuage , it will help me out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave Visual Studio 2008 R2 with SP 2 installed. Due to a merger we now have a MySQL database that we need to update from SSIS. Everything works except for the table insert or update. Would upgrading to SP 3 or SP 4 maybe useful with that?Â
We have installed the latest driver from MySQL. Have tried the ADO.Net and ODBC drivers with similar results when we try to update the database.
Can we compare two databases using SSIS?
I have to compare two databases using SSIS and ( including table schema and data). ls it out the difference in data between two databases. How we can do this using SSIS ?
I have a little problem with my IS Server.I am using IS 9.0.1399 (SSIS 2005).I have one instance for databases.I am able to connect to Integration Services just with the Servername (no Instance Name) and I see the folders in there.When I try to open the MSDB Folder (under "Stored Packages") I get the following exeption:
"Login timeout expired/An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.SQL Network Interfaces: Connection string is not valid [87]."
I have a Pivot Transform in SSIS (2005) working perfectly, EXCEPT for that the first column of the output (the date) repeats for each of the following columns, which are themselves falling into the correct column, but not on the same line for a particular date as the others. Snipet of result from Data Viewer is:
dbDate site1 site2
1/1/2015 0:00 0.03 NULL
1/2/2015 0:00 0.04 NULL
[code]....
I am copying the template with header before loading the data. I tried deleting Dataflow task, Excel Connection manager etc., nothing seems to work and there are no nulls in the data. I did this several times, workaround seems to not working this time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just imported some SSIS packages onto my instance but my users aren't able to run the jobs for these packages (if thats the write terminology) it keeps failing with this error: Non-SysAdmins have been denied permission to run DTS Execution job steps without a proxy account. I've been looking around and I've been told I can assign the logins to the database roles in msdb but when I look for the roles in msdb they don't exist. SSIS is definitely installed on the server. How do I go about getting these added?
Have anyone successfully accomplished scheduling integration services package using management studio? or is there any other way to do this?
i am scheduling the package to run from SQL SERVER Management Studio using SQL Server Agent,but it is not working.Help is appreciated.
I try to import my SSIS packages which are created using the Business Intelligent studio into SQL server 2005 but I cannot do that.
I am running SQL server 2005 enterprise edition.
Also when i tried to connect to Integration services using Object explorer, it only prompt me for server name. I cannot change the username and password which is disabled.
Then how am i supposed to connect to Integration services on a server in this case?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a general question I need a few pointers or explanations. I have a top level Data Flow query in a SSIS package that has been running for years for which I have made some minor changes to pull additional fields and rectify a filter condition.Â
I have noticed that when I run this same query, exactly as entered in the Data Flow task, in the SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, the query returns some 105,000+ records but when run in development by executing the package the top level task only indicates some 21,000 records returned. Since there was not other transformations or filtering performed, I had expected the same record count and am not getting it.Â
I need to create a DB dynamically in the Server from the SSIS only....
How to implement this....
I need to convert an access 2000 database to access 2013 and then load the data into a sql server 2012 database. Thus any urls (links) that will show me how to accomplish the following in an SSIS package:
1. Convert an access 2000 database to access 2013 database?
2. Load the converted Access 2013 database into sql server 2012?
I am trying to dynamically change my initial catalog in a SSIS project. Each day I get a snapshot of data from the production server. I am performing ETL on that database and loading it into my warehouse. I am trying to put something together so that each day I get the latest snapshot and if its newer then my most recent one I pass that new catalog into the connection manager. I can already run the sql script to compare the two catalogs but I can't populate the connection manager.

We are using SQL Server 2014 and SSDT-BI 2013. We have a reporting environment where business users create objects which need to be persisted for fiscal year reporting. Let's say for instance SQLSERVER1SRVR1 they create table objects like below in the reporting environment.
Accounting2014, Accounting2015 in AccountingDB;Â
Sales2014, Sales2015 in SalesDB;Â
Products2014, Products2015 in ProductsDB;Â
Inventory2014, Inventory2015 in InventoryDB etc....
These tables are persisted for auditing in a different environment SQLSERVER2SRVR2 for finance & audit folks.We would want to automate this process using SSIS to create tables in corresponding database and load data. I tried using For Each Loop container but the catch is I could loop the source or destination but how do we loop on Source & Destination at the same time (i.e when source is in AccountingDB destination to be AccountingDB, source SalesDB then destination SalesDB so on etc....
