Integration Services :: Size Of XML Document Limitation For Validation Task?
Aug 14, 2015
Out of Memory when working with big XML Files:when validating XSD it process small files but when size close to 1gb it throws .I have 16 xml files out of which 8-10 Â files size will be around 1gb processing one by one in FOR EACH LOOP container in SSIS[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.".Task XSD Validation failed.
system configuration :
processor:Intel(R) Xeon (R) CPU E5-2670 v2 @2.50GhZ 2.50 Hz
Installed memory (RAM): 61 GB
System type: 64 -Bit operating System
Visual studio:2012,32 bitÂ
virtual memory : 12499 MB
whether the size of the XML Document a limitation for the validation task ? or any system configuration i need to improve?
Im just wondering, does the Execute SQL task have a length limitation of how long the SQL statement can be, I tried to copy and paste a very long SQL statement from my DTS execute job task to a new SSIS execute SQL task and the statement was truncated and I cannot enter anymore text after that
I have an XML document that I am trying to use within a data flow (XML Source)--the problem is that I keep getting an error message stating that the XML document has multiple namespaces and therefore, SSIS will not create the XSD for me. If I take out the second namespace, I am able to successfully get the task to execute, but this XML is created with 2 namespaces and there is no way to get around this (I cannot get the report server to change these parameters)--my question is: know a way to get SSIS to handle multiple namespaces so that I can process this XML document and extract the necessary data elements from it.
Im newto SSIS. I want to develop package for data validation.
FirstName
1. Mandatory  field checking: if Null, reject the record  2. If field length > 50, then reject the record
SSN
1.  If field length > 12, then reject the record 2. If SSN is not in valid format, issue warning and process rhe record  without SSN value. 3. Valid format: 9 digit numeric values should present after striping off  all non-numeric characters. 4. Only send 9 digits to MDM
Like these i have 30 rules. And I have to shop the error msg if the validation fails like "Mandatory feild is missing".
I have a pretty easy data load and design of my package flow is like this : Excel -> Stage -> operational_table. So now everything is working fine and the operational table will be called for front end applications. So far so good.
Everything is truncate and load operation. Yesterday, my stage to operational table load failed because of truncation happened for a column.  Is there any way I can validate for errors and if at all there are any errors I wont truncate my operational table. I'm thinking of this way .. If  max(len(stage.column)) >   COL_LENGTH('operational table','[column]')Â
stop truncating operational table.. Is there any other better way or just above works fine?
I have a package that works fine locally but doesn't work when I deploy it to the server (and reset the connection strings to the local DB and AS instances that are running on the same server)It's not the usual permissions issue; I'm getting something about the SQL Browser not running (it is) and named instances. But my SSAS instance is the default unnamed instance?
The error message is "errors in the oledb provider. could not connect to the redirector. ensure the sql browser is running on the "." server" then another error with "error while retrieving name instance information".I've tried referencing the ssas server using its ip, ., hostname but the package craps out in a few sec
I've verified that the SSAS server is running and i can connect to it using ssms/tableau/excel etc.I've tried changing the service account of the sql browser to use local system.
I have a main package calling another package through the Execute Package task.
The main package is passing the Job Instance id as a parameter to the other package.
When i execute the Execute Package task the concerned package is not showing any execution progress. However when i set the Delay validation Property to True , I saw that the package executed instantly and the desired result was obtained.
I am not sure how the Delay Validation property worked for the cause , as in my package I had no scenario of a temp table being called or any other temporary variables being used which needed a Delay Validation.
I'm using SSIS in Visual Studio 2012. My Execute SQL Task calls a Stored Procedure where I have a TRY-CATCH. Last week there was a problem and the CATCH was executed and logged an error to my error table, but for some reason the Execute SQL Task didn't fail. Is there a setting to make the Execute SQL Task fail when an SP encounters a failure?
In short, does the €œTransfer SQL Server Objects Task€? support distributed transactions?
In trying to use a €œTransfer SQL Server Objects Task€? in a container using a transaction on the container. The task is set to support the transaction. It is setup to copy table data from several tables from a non-domain server (sql server 2000) to a domain-based server (sql server 2005). I get an error stating, €œThis task can not participate in a transaction€?.
I am wondering if it means exactly what it says €“ this task in SSIS can€™t participate at all. Or does it mean that it won€™t in this scenario for some reason. I attempted a simple copy of data from mssql 2005 to mssql 2005 (same server) and the task still failed). MSDTC appears to be running properly on my machine and such (I can do a simple distributed transaction across linked server to the 2000 server in Query Analyzer (QA)). Also, MSDTC appears to be working on both servers with distributed transaction query tests in QA.
Here€™s the error info€¦
SSIS package "Development BusinessContacts and Products Migration.dtsx" starting. Information: 0x4001100A at Copy BusinessContacts Data: Starting distributed transaction for this container. I am loading from SQL Server 2008 to Access 2010 using SSIS. One of the columns in the table I am loading into is a Number datatype and Fieldsize is long integer. The values are being truncated, so I want to change the Fieldsize to DOUBLE. Â However, when I do that I receive the error below. What should I do? I would like not to change my Windows registry.
This error can be caused by one of the following:
The maximum number of columns allowed in a table or the maximum number of locks for a single file is exceeded.
The indexed property of a field is changed from Yes (Duplicates OK) to Yes (No Duplicates) when duplicate data exists in the table.
An expression is not specified in the Expression property of a calculated field.Â
If the maximum number of locks per file was exceeded, you can increase the number by editing a registry entry. However, this is not a recommended option.
If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you could cause serious problems that require you to reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
Make a backup of the registry. Find the MaxLocksPerFile registry value by using the Windows Registry Editor, and then increase the value. The MaxLocksPerFile value is saved as part of the following key:
If the Indexed property of a field and duplicate data is located in the table, reset the Indexed property to the previous setting, or remove duplicate records from the table.
While I was loading to the same table a few days ago, I received a warning and the task took approx 9 hours. I am attaching the screen shot.
I have created a SSIS package which runs every hour from my Machine. First part of my Package runs a Execute SQl Task and result set (single row, single column) is a comma separated list of Unique Record Ids which have been updated in last hour. (i.e. FJ1,FJ2,FJ3) I capture this result in a variable and when I User script taks to display the value of this property, it appears as it should be.I pass this Variable to Execute SQL Task on Different ODBC Server using a Stored Procedure. My SQL Statement is as Following
call DeleteRowsById(?)
And then I have assigned my Variable (as SQL_Longvarchar) to Parameter 1 in Parameter mapping Section. (ParameterSize is -1) but it doesnt delete the records from the table. (I ran the SP manually in Workbench and it works as expected) Then i had an Idea and as part of my SP I started making entries in a Temp table just to see whats coming up as variable. Insert in the table shows only first Charecter from the variable and which is why its not deleting any records.I can not find why my variable is being truncated.
Using "Integration Services Project" template in Business Intelligence Studio. Using platforms Visual Studio 2005 along with SQL Server 2005.
Getting the error while trying to execute package after loading it programmaticaly.
I've just one task "Transfer SQL Server Objects Task" on my Integration Services package. But when I try to execute it from VS 2005 project programmaticaly, it gives the above mentioned error.
The commands I use:
Package pkg = new Package();
pkg = a.LoadPackage(@"C:Documents and SettingsabcMy DocumentsVisual Studio 2005ProjectslSSISSSISPackage.dtsx", null, true);
DTSExecResult dResult = pkg.Execute();
The the error comes like: error: 0xc0012024 The task Transfer SQL Server Objects Task cannot run on this edition of Integration Services. It requires higher level edition.
I have a developer here that created an SSIS package that contains a Send Mail Task. When this developer runs the package in the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) the send mail task runs without issue. But when he tries to run it using command line and the DTEXEC program it errors out with the following error message:

Here are the details of his machine: Visual Studio 2005 Version: 8.0.50727.762 (SP.050727-7600)
Under the Installed Products section it reads: SQL Server Integration Services version: 9.00.3042.00
Once we promoted the package to a production server it runs fine. I can also run the same package from my machine without issue. So, I'm pretty sure that it's specific to his machine, but I have no idea where to start looking.
I received a pipe-delimited file that I need to import. (It has the equivalent of 650+ fields on a single row). While I had no issue importing it (SSIS 2008) I noticed that the input connector, Advanced option, shows an "OutputColumnWidth" of only 50 for all fields.
I say only 50 because some of the pipe-delimited fields can supposedly have a max of 250 characters so I'm concerned about potential data truncation. Unless someone has another thought I plan to manually set those OutputColumnWidth fields to 250.
I found an article that stated that there was a limit of 1GB of total user databases for SQL on Small Business Server. I could not tell if that was SBS 2003 or an earlier version. Does anyone know if there is any limitation?
I have created a backup device. THe file it wrote (.dat) is 1.2 gig when I tried to run another backup to it it failed (3sec) Is there a size limitation on the Device or .dat file size?
Just testing things out I tried to directly open this file and it gave me a memory problem(Try closing other applications not enough memory to open "filename").
Hi, I am porting data between sql65 servers. I am transfering data using bcp , while doing bcp i am getting following error. DB-Library error: Attempt to bulk-copy an oversized row to the sql server. DB-Library error: Attempt to convert data stopped by syntax error in source field. My row size in the particular table is : 170 bytes length. Can anyone have idea, what is row size limitation in 65. i am having service pack 5a.
Hi all,I am new to the ADODB.StreamI am using following codelRecordset.Open "Select * from <some table-name>"'this query return more than 1000 recordsdim lstream as new ADODB.stream'assigning the recordset data to the streamlrecordset.save lstreamlStream.Position = 0Dim lRecordset2 As New ADODB.RecordsetlRecordset2.Open lstreamMsgBox lRecordset2.RecordCountmy problem is that query is returning say 1500 records but when i amagain assigning the same stream to another recordset it is copyingonly 485 recordsthat is lstream is saving only 485 records...is there any size limiton stream...?how i can do this using stream only....If u have any solution plz reply back..Thanks in advance...
I am using FileSystemTask to copy around 4 gb file(ASCII). Is there any limitation on the file size. SQL Server 2005 SP2, Windows 2003 server. Copying from one Windows 2K server to other Windows 2K server. Thank you,
I have an expression based project connection manager in an existing package and updating Packet Size parameter.
After update and clicking on OK, Packet Size value reverts back to 0 (which is old value). This connection manager is used by lot of Dataflow tasks in my package and recreating the connection manager and updating the reference is not a viable option.
HI Everyone, I understand that there is a 4GB size limitation on SQL Server Express edition. right? What I want to know is what if a database file created in SQL Express is hosted with SQL Server 2005 will the file still have the 4 GB size limitations? Thanks
I am running 7.0 standard desktop on Workstation 4.0 and have run into a database size limitation of 10GB. I have all the newest patches and have found no documentation that refers to a 10GB limitation. A September copy of VBA developer says that this edition has a limitation of 4GB while the guides say that the Small Business Server edition would have a 10GB limitation. All other forms of documentation say that there should be the standard mega-terabyte limit. I'm completely confused by this [lack of] documentation. Any help???
I has created a SSIS FTP Task Programatically for Receiving Files. I have written code for Transfering data from FTP to my local machine. it is working fine. i need to log the details of the file transferred like file name, file size it to database table.
can any one help me to solve this...... its very urgent please.....
Email    | CC_Flag xxxx          0 yyyy          1 zzzz          1
Using Task SQL, I am trying to pass these email addresses to two separate variables - To_field, Cc_field on basis of the CC_Flag..Is it possible to fill two variables from a single SQl Task,.
I've never worked with the XML data type in SQL Server, although I know its been there for a few iterations of SQL SErver. Now I've got a situation in which it might store some configuration data as XML, since that's the way it comes. (We had thought about storing the data in a VARCHAR(MAX) field.)
The first question is does the XML data type have a size limitation? For example do you do something like:
ConfigFile XML(1000) NULL
Or is it just something like this:
ConfigFile XML NULL
The second question is persisting the data to a file. As the name I choose for the variable suggests, we want to save the data from a configuration file into a SQL Server database. How do we go about doing that? We'll be developing a C# application, it will read and write the data both from the SQL table and the user's local HD.
