Invalid Path Message

In the following code, I received an error on
execInfo = rsReportExec.LoadReport(strReportPath, strHistoryID). The errro was "System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The path of the item "http://localhost/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?/CAITReports/rptIssuesByRole&rs:Command=Render&intProjectID=119&nvchrWhoRan=DYW" is not valid. The path must be less than 260 characters long and must start with slash. Other restrictions apply.
I copied and pasted the path on the URL and it worked. What did I miss in the code? Why strHistoryID is required as it is nothing? Please refer to http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.wssux.reportingserviceswebservice.rsexecutionservice2005.reportexecutionservice.render.aspx

I'm trying to use the message queue task in SSIS 2005 and not getting very far. Right off the bat I'm trying to create a Message Queue Connection Manager and when I enter the path, trying both "seawxxxx estq" (my local computer name) or ". estq" and test it, it comes back with "invalid path". Have done quite a bit of searching around and can't find anything on this particular error.
Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

In my SQL Server, I see the below message in the Application Event Viewer
"18265 :
Log backed up: Database: HSD, creation date(time): 2007/01/06(05:05:05), first LSN: 1439:495055:1, last LSN: 1439:496675:1, number of dump devices: 1, device information: (FILE=1, TYPE=DISK: {'D:MSSQLBACKUPHSDHSD_tlog_200707141300.TRN'})."
When I save the application event viewer and open it in another server, I do not see the above message, instead I get the following message:
" Can't find or load message DLL. Message DLL must be in path or in current directory."
Any thoughts to overcome this problem is appreciated.
Thanks

I run SB between 2 SQL servers. In profiler on an initiator side I see next error: 'This message could not be delivered because its message timestamp has expired or is invalid'. For the conversation we use best practice, i.e. target closes a conversation. Target side succeed to close conversation, but initiator still stay in DO (disconnect_outbound).
What is a reasone for the error? What to do?

I used the DTSmigration wizard to transfer DTS jobs from SQL2000 to SQL2005. The wizard transfered the old DTP packages without error but now I cannot access some of them. The old DTS packages had names of the form <program_name>**<output_type> for example JM-102**excell. When I try to access (or delete) the new packages in SSIS I get the error:
The path is not valid.
Parameter name: packagePath (MsDtsSrvr)
How can I delete these packages?

Hi
Hopefully someone can help me.
I'm trying to restore my DB to a new server and also a new instance of SQL 2005 SP2+ hotfix KB934458.
I've successfully restored my MSDB database and everything seems to be working fine, but now when I'm trying to do a restore of my Database RMc to the attached SAN,
I'm getting the error:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The path 'H:' has invalid attributes. It needs to be a directory. It must not be hidden, read-only, or on a removable drive. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)
the H: is the Drive letter for my attached SAN.
The path I'm trying to give is H:\DBData for the MDF-file and the H:DBLog for the LDF-file.
I have the DB running on another server also with a SAN attached and there are no problems.
I also moved the MSDB to another drive on the SAN - a G-drive without any problems.
Is there someone who have a good idea?
TSloth :-)

Hello. I am attempting to add a distribution database to an instance of SQL Server on my local PC. I am using SQL 2005 Developer Edition. I am able to set the instance up as a distributor using the following command:
exec sp_adddistributor @distributor = N'computernameinstancename'
I use the following command to create the distribution database:
exec sp_adddistributiondb @database = N'distribution', @data_folder = N'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2MSSQLData',
@data_file_size = 4, @log_folder = N'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2MSSQLData',
I get the following error when executing that command:
Msg 14430, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_adddistributiondb, Line 214
Invalid destination path C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2MSSQLData.
It's not due to permissions on that particular folder. I have tried using other folders, all with the same results. Also, I am an Administrator on the PC, so I have full permissions. I have tried running the SQL Server services as myself and Local System. Same results both times. Co-workers with apparently the same setup are able to create the distribution database without a problem.
Has anybody had this type of problem?
Thanks,
Evan

I am working on the SSIS FTP Task that transfer file from one FTP server to local location, rename the file name, and finally transfer the renamed file to another FTP server. So I defined 2 FTP tasks.
For the FTP file receive operation, I need the remote path to be updated by a script and pass to the user define variable. So I set TRUE to IsRemotePathVariable. In the RemoteVariable, I set User::FTPSourcePath where the variable is set in the script with "/DMFTP/filename1.jpg"
For the FTP file send operation, I set TRUE to IsRemotePathVariable. In the RemoteVariable, I set User::FTPDestPath where the variable is set in the script with "/DestFTP/"
After all the setting, the FTP Task box show me the error as "Variable "FTPSourcePath" doesn't start with "/". Another FTP box show me "Variable "FTPDestPath" doesn't start with "/"
Can anyone help me on this problem?? Thanks.

I have created a FTP Task which is returning the value, "Error: 0x0 at FTP Task, SFTP Task: Invalid local path."
In my DB Table, the table contains a field for the location of files to be Ftp'd which is: C:/temp/ftp/OB/*
I believe my settings are correct and am curious to know if the above string should work or if I need a different syntax for the local variable.

I am having difficulty restoring a database (DB_1) with 2 datafiles and one log file, DB Structure is as following:
Filegroup PRIMARY with file name 'fnm_data' with physical file name and location D:dbfile_1.mdf,
Filegroup 'FG1' with file name 'fgnm1_data1' with physical file name and location F:dbfile_FG1.mdf,
One log file with file name 'fnm_log' with physical file name and location (E:loglog_db.ldf)
{Note} Logfile resides on E drive whereas Datafiles reside on several other drives.
I need to restore the DB on another machine. And I need to move the log file to a drive other than E.In this case it is K drive. Hence I have used the following code,
restore log DB_1 from disk='M:kupccciclog.txt'
WITH RESTRICTED_USER , MOVE 'fnm_log'
TO 'K:DBlog_db.ldf', recovery, replace,RESTART
go
When I try to restore from backup files, I keep error message saying "Physical file name E:loglog_db.ldf may be incorrect." 'fnm_log' cannot be restored. Use Move command to identify a valid location for the file.
Even though I am using Move command to move the log file.
Then I found that if I create a drive with E: and a folder named 'log' then restore program runs alright. That is, when E:log exists then code does run smoothly. All the restore code is looking for the presence of path of the log file from where it is been backed up. In this case it is E:log folder. Once the database is restored I could kill that directory and nothing happens. Also log file has been restored on K:DB only.
Why the restore code is looking for the initial drive letter and path even though I have used Move command? Is there an issue in my code?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

I'm having trouble with cube processing. While processing a code I'm getting a "Invalid column name MessageType" error.
I unfolded the cube, then I opened "measure groups", my failing dimension (ServiceRequestDim) and the partition.
In the partition I opened the "Source" attribute so it now includes my column which was missing. But it didn't solve the issue.
If I get the query used during the process I'm getting this :
SELECT
DISTINCT
[ServiceRequestDim].[MessageType] AS [ServiceRequestDimMessageType0_0]
FROM
(
Select IsNull(IsDeleted, 0) as IsDeleted, [ServiceRequestDimKey], IsNull([Status_ServiceRequestStatusId], 0) as [Status_ServiceRequestStatusId],[Status],IsNull([TemplateId_ServiceRequestTemplateId], 0) as
[Code] ....
In the nested query which defines ServiceRequestDim the messagetype attribute is still missing. In my source datamart the ServiceRequestDim has the "MessageType" column.
So the question is where do I change the nested request that the dim process use to reflect the actual columns in my datamart .

When trying to install Business Contact Manager (BCM) for Outlook 2007, the setup failed and I was refered to a log file in my Local Settings/Temp folder. The log actually says that Business Contact Manager was installed sucessfully! BCM is supposed to install SQL Express 2005 as an instance or as instance if SQL Express is already installed. There is an MSSMLBIZ instance in Services..
Who can I send the Log File to for analysis and the fix feedback?
When I first went into Computer Management and clicked on Services and Applications in the left panel, the error message appeared "Snap-in failed to intialize. Name: SQL Server Configuration Manager CLSID:{CA9F8727-31DF-41D2-975C-887D84903967} This message diappeared when I clicked on Services and Applications again. Under Services, there are 3 SQL services - one is an application that was uninstalled 3-4 weeks ago and I disabled this service. The other 2 are: SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) and the other one is SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) When I tried to start either of the last 2, the message appeared: Services "Could not start the SQL Server (MSSMLBIZ) service on Local Computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified. Under Program Files/Microsoft SQL Server/MSSGL.1 folder is mostly empty. So, it seems like the Path in the Registry is not valid and that nothing is being installed in the MSSQL.1 folder. If so, how do I fix this?
How do I get the BCM SQL instance to install and run properly? what do the messages in Services mean and how do I resolve these.
Thank you!

With this query I call:

- SQLNumParams -> SQL_SUCCESS=0, pcpar = 1
- SQLDescribeParam( 1 ) -> SQL_ERROR=-1, [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid parameter number", "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid Descriptor Index"
Is there a problem with this calling sequence or this query? Or is this a problem of SQL Server?

Hello,
I am having trouble specifying a message body that is valid. I mean for the client to send. If I leave it as null then everything is ok but if I create a memorystream and add a line of text it reports back it did not pass validation. I do not understand this and am not sure what to do. I need to send a message based on a code and text but do not know the format of the body that is allowed. The code I am refering to comes out of HelloWord_CLR because that is what I am formating my sample after. I call it the same way it calls the return message done in ServiceProc. I need to know the message format including body since this does not seem to work. A sample of the call is bellow.
// Create an empty request message
string Msg = "Hello";
MemoryStream body = new MemoryStream(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(Msg));
Message request = new Message("Request", body);
Thanks,
Scott Allison...

Sorry if this is not the correct forum... I am using the FOR XML PATH feature of SQL Server 2005 (Amazing!!) Is it possible to return multiple rows? For example:SELECT 'Field1' AS 'Element1/@Field1'FROM TableFOR XML PATH('Repeating') Say the above SELECT returns 5 records, I want it to return 5 rows of xml in my ASP.NET application. So in this case each of the 5 rows would contain:<Repeating><Element Field1="Field1"></Element> <Repeating>Instead of returning 1 row with all the xml together.

Hello to all,
help, help,...
i have with this problem since 3 weeks, until now i cann't resolve this problem. Maybe can somebody help me. I am hopeless.
i have a data table ValidRelationship, i will check if there is a relationship between two members by this table.

I will give two member and check their Relationship with a sql query. but it can be that this two member have no relationship. So i define here that man should search processor <= 6 . To better describe i use a example: max. Result of this query is: 1-2-3-4-5-6. If this is a relationship between 1-7 is 1-2-3-4-5-6-7, but i will give a answer that this is no relationship between 1-7. because processor > 6.
But my problem is: this query executing is too slow. if i habe two member no relationship, the time of this complete sql query to execute is more than 1 minutes. Is my algorithm wrong, or where is the problem, why this executing is so slow? How can i quickly get the relationships between two member, if my algorithms is not right? The following Query is only to processor = 3, but it works too slowly, so i don't write remaining processors.
declare @IDM int;
declare @IDO int;
set @IDM = 3418;
set @IDO = 4270
select top 1 IDMember
from v_ValidRelationships
where IDMember = @IDM

I am having difficulty restoring a database (DB_1) consists of 2 datafiles and one log file, DB Structure is as following:

I'm having a problem with a backup job.
15 or so databases are being backed up overnight to a remote server using UNC paths. All bar one database is being copied fine. The one that isn't is the largest at 8gb. The error in the log is OS error 64 (the network name could not be found).
Now I've got the customer looking into any reasons why their network may be interrupted overnight, but while googling around I saw someone mentioned that backing up to UNC with databases over 2gb can cause problems? Is there any truth in this?
I am inclined to reccomend the user backs up the database to a local drive and then sets up a scheduled task to copy it across, but I'm interested to see if this is a known issue.
Thanks.

In the following example...
EXEC sp_addlinkedserver
@server = 'Shipping',
@provider = 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0',
@srvproduct = 'OLE DB Provider for Jet',
@datasrc = 'C:ShippingShipping BackEnd.mdb'
...can I specify the UNC path of the Access DB instead?
