First off, can you post .dtsx packages to the forum? I always end up cutting and pasting code, which is by is nature incomplete, as it generally has external dependencies (connections, variables).
Perhaps you cannot do so for security reasons?
Second, is there a good blog site that allows you to post .dtsx packages?
I'd rather post .dtsx links than cut and paste code (which half the time formats the code un-recognizably), or even worse, post package xml, which contains the layout information and possibly IL that makes it all but unreadable.

Sure you can run

But You can only send message using contract1, when you try to send msg using contract2, it always say can not find CONTRACT "contract2".

I have a table is SQL server database A that is my source.
I have another database B which is accessed via webservice call.(its a CRM server basically).
My intention is to transfer data from A to B while B is accessible only via web service. I need to Trasnfer the data from the source database A to the destination Database B by calling the webservice.
Is there a way where I can retrieve whole set of rows in source table in preexecute(), And transfer the data to Database destination B by calling the webservice?

My Original Post
I have to query n table(NLRImports) using the Distinct keyword, to retrieve a set of ID numbers. ( "Select DISTINCT id_nbr from NLRImport" ).
Now i want to use those values i retrieved, to process the records in the table(NLRImports) 1 by 1. How do i use those ID no's i retrieved as Variables or parameters for my next query?? If this makes sense?

First, thanks for the response.... now here is what im trying to do.
I created a simple application in delphi to import information to a table in MSSql2005. This is some of the resulting columns...
date | id_nbr | account_nbr | sub_account_nbr | ... etc

Now there will be several entries with the same id no but on different dates, so i take it dates would rather be my pkey.
Then i need to take one person's entries(i work on id_nbr) and go thru all the entries taking the earliest date and comparing all the other entries for that person to the first date and select all the dates more than 19 days after the first date and less than 91 days from first date and place it in a new table.
I used cursor s and while loops to kind of get it going but i know that cursors are not really recommended use but the performance implications dont bother with this particular job.
What other ways should i be using to accomplish this?

Will i be able to do a contract which requires about 2 years experience?
O what a place to be I started this Contract as an (Interim) for a new DBA role, for an application support Company last month & all was going well. The User Application is run via Citrix against multiple Hosted Sybase ASA Databases. I introduced SQL 2005 with Reporting Services as a mixed Data Mart Remote Query via ODBC Linked Servers setup. Because they had never had a DBA before the Data I was able to pull from over thirty seperate databases into one and present via Reporting Services has blown them away. And then one day the Senior Support Analyst told me he had put the main most important Sybase Database on a completely seperate domain he had created(with no Trust between the two) , because he was unable to secure the existing domain against unauhorized remote internet intrusion & Viruses. (I never liked the idea that hosted customers were domainusers on the Corporate network) To add insult to injury he then told me to install & maintain another SQL Box on the new domain, OK so far. I logged into the supoposed new box via citrix & then remote desktop, and to my disbelief he had the desktop locked down - no access to control panel or anything - he asked me why i needed access - I told him - he asked me why I need to have reboot priveleges - I told him. So now he's installed 2005 himself in the vain hope I can work without Local Admin privelages or need to unlock the Desktop - he certainly won't give me Domain Admin. I Just cannot believe I'm unable to persuade him to Unlock the Desktop & have even threatened to walk out unless he lets me do my Job. He probably does'nt like me but there can be absolutely no question about my abilities or accessing data that i should'nt. He's basically read a Deny by Default article and expects me to start of as a user with a locked desktop and then request & justify escalating my security from there. Is this possible ? I have a table with 3 fields: Contract_No, Start_Date, End_Date. I need to calculate how many of the days between the Start and End dates fall within each financial year (FY) beginning 1st April and ending 31st March.
So for example if the Contract Start_Date is 26/01/2012 and the End_Date is 20/05/2012 or is null then the number of days for 2012 FY is 49 (counting from 01/04/2012 to 20/05/2012).
If the End_Date is null for the same contract, then the number of days for 2012 FY would be 365.
Since the contract period from Start_Date to End_Date might span more than one or even several FY I need to be able to show this in columns seperately for each FY. What is the best way of achieving this?

The problem I was having regarding re-enable a queue was because it was in another database. I am guessing it did that because the contract and Queues have the same name. I double checked and nothing pointed to that database. I fixed it because I can re-enable the queue in the other database and it is fixed. My question is why did this happen? The other issue I am still having is regarding why the queue got disabled to begin with. I understand that it was because of positioning but do not understand how or why and how to provent it from being disabled.

I solved the previous issue I had and now need to find out how to make it so I have Service Broker running on one machine and the services running on another machine. I mean you can set a connection string to post a message to the service broker but then it will need to respond and the connection string in the method called does not allow you to put a server in the connection string. The other issue is because the stored procedure calls the method in your code based on a namespace and then a method but does not specify a server. I am sure a way exists but am not familiar with it. This is the last piece of the architecture I need to work out before I finish designing the system.

I have two tables and a CTE table.
-Shop : list of all shops with an ID_SHOP
-Contract : list of all contract with a FK to the shop FK_SHOP. A shop can have multiple contracts
I have a cte where I calculate for each FK_SHOP the maximum contract start date. I now want to join my shop table with the contract table but only for the contracts >= their maximum contract start date.

A contract can many conditions so 1:M...Col 2 is the contract reference and the linking join to contract
Now - a condition related to an contract can have many re-trys and the causes the pk to increment. As you can see there are three conditions related to first attempt and then another three conditions.I want to create an ouput which just reflects the latest conditions when joining back to contract - Is this possible?I have requested to application providers to provide flag, but this will take some time...
I have a report with 3 groups, and a toggle on the first cell in the group header, and group totals on that line also. So it renders as:

Anyone having problems with this forum today?
I have had countless email alerts thru today alerting me to people replying to threads I have commented on. And I can see the person's comments.
1) WhenI click on the link it takes me to a page saying the post doesn't exist
2) When I try and browse to the thread manually I can't see the reply.
3) On one occasion I replied to one of these threads asking if someone had posted something and then deleted it. After I submitted the post I could see all the other posts in the thread which were supposedly missing before. The next time I browse to the thread (in a new browser window) I can't see any of the posts.
BROKEN!!!! I for one won't be coming back here until they fix it. Its pathetic.
I have posted something on the bug report forum by the way.

Hi,
Our website provide users with a forum where they can enter messages. So, typically, a user would enter a message, click submit, and their message would be displayed on the forum.
The db that stores these msgs uses a varchar field. Now, we're adding a facility to convert any urls that are entered to links by adding 'a href' tags, so that when users see messages with urls, those urls appear as links, and they can click on them. The problem is that if a user enters a message of 8K chars, then we add 'a href' tags to any urls they have, that makes the message length > 8K, preventing us from storing it in our db. (Please note that we do need to add HTML tags for other reasons as well, not just to convert urls to links.)
We thought about adding 'a href' tags during pre-render, thus avoiding storing html in the db, but found that doing such string manipulations, while a user is waiting to see their post displayed on the forum, was expensive. Timing tests revealed that the time to render such pages more than doubled.
I have solved such problems previously by adding an extra field in the db to store any overflow data, that is, data that appears after the first 8K chars.
However, I learnt of sql server 2005's varchar(max) datatype, and 'am wondering if the best way to solve this problem would be to replace the varchar field with varchar(max).

it works great, now say my order only requiers 700 of that sku,I only want to pull pallets that i need, how can i say:Select loc,sku,qty,datercvdFrom TableWhere sku=12345 (that qty summed is not more than 700?)
not sure if i can or how to make it like a formula.

I have got MSSQL 2000 set up on a machine in my rack at my local telehouse, and a web server set up at home on an ADSL line.
Both servers can see (ping) eachother fine , so you can rule out any kind of connectivity issues straight away, but when i try to get my forum to connect to the mssql database using the correct credentials it just fails saying that the credentials are incorrect ot the server does not exist.
I also installed an SQL database tool on my web server (Shusheng SQL Tool) and attempted to connect to my SQL server using that tool, and got the following message: '[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.'
The server is currently using mixed mode authentication (SQL/Windows) and has both TCP/IP and Named pipes enabled.
Is there some kind of 'Enable remote connections' option in SQL? I need to be able to allow connections to my SQL server from any system, anywhere...
Any ideas?

I'm just about to launch a forum, and right now its built in ASP classic with an Access db. I origianlly used Access because most hosts charge extra for MS-SQL server. Recently I switched to Jodohost who offers Access, MS-SQL and MySql for at no additional cost. So now that I have the option, I would like to pick the best solution before I launch.
* My questions are...
- What is the best db solution to go with for a currently small forum?
- How problematic do you think a data migration would be in the future if I stayed with Access for now and upgraded to MS-SQL with a full forum?
- Is it just smarter to go with MS-SQL now, with an empty forum, regardless of any preformance issues because potential migration problems are a greater risk?
- At what point does the speed of MS-SQL at high volumes over come the potential lags in accessing MS-SQL if it is hosted on a different machine from the one hosting the webpages?
* And please keep in mind...
- I have no db training. I can muddle through Access well enough, but administrating MS-SQL I think might be another story
- This fourm will start off very small, but could grow to be quite large
- I may not stay with jodohost, and would therefore likely have to pay more for MS-SQL (which I woudl rather not do)
