Is It Possible To Access Data Associated With A Hyperlink In SSIS?

I need to be able to to extract the data that is returned by clicking a hyperlink. I click the link and it displays the data.
I know that SSIS has a web services task, and that appears to be a neat feature, but the link I am connecting to does not have a WSDL file or anything like that. So I think I cannot use this task.
Does anyone have a suggestion about how I might do this?

Hi,
on a migration from access 97 to SQL Server 7.0 columns in access like 'hyperlink' are converted to datatype 'text' on the SQL Server 7.0. Now I miss the function in the access application I had before with fields like 'hyperlink'. Now I can't start e.g. a word document with a click and I have to type in the hyperlink manualy.
Does anyone had the same problem an possibly have a resolve?

I upgraded an Access 2003 database to SQL Server 2005 Express with the upsize wizard- worked great! Have a field that needs to be a hyperlink data type. There is no datatype in SQL that is hyperlink. Even if it were a text field, possibly inserting a hyperlink would work, but the insert hyplink in Access is unavailable, because the datasource is sql, maybe. I have a command button that ties to this function which won't work, obviously since it is not available. I need this field, it points to a file containing data that is being imported into the database. Huge piece of the database functionality. Making it easy for the user to find the file and using the vba to convert the data.
Saw the option of jump to url, but I don't think that will work? couldn't find the exact syntax either.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I was wondering if it would be possible to put report data in a hyperlink. For instance I have a report that pulls up a UPS tracking number and I want to be able to put it in the hyperlink to check the status from the UPS website.

Hello,
I have a report which has 2 tables.
The first table shows the current summary data as below.
ServerName Date ProjectStatus
Srv1 01/10 Green
Srv2 01/10 Red
Srv 3 01/10 Green
and the second shows the detailed history per server,
eg for Srv1
Table 2
ServerName Date ProjectStatus
Srv1 01/10 Green
Srv1 01/09 Green
Srv1 01/08 Red
Srv1 01/07 Red
Srv1 01/16 Red
I have a link on Srv1 column, on click of which i want to filter and show the data only for Srv1.
If user clicks Srv2 data in table 2 should be refreshed with values only for Srv2.
How to do this ?
Note: I have done this using subreports but I dont want to use sub reports for when it comes to using them in web aspx page it has its own issues.
I want a single report to have this functionality.
I am not able to set the Report Parameter on click of link.

I'm creating a SSIS in the designer view of SQL Server BI Dev. Studio (SQL Server 2005)
I need to import a whole table from MS Access into my local SQL Server.(this task will be performed weekly, so once working I'll schedule a job for it)
I've created a 'FILE' connection to MS Access in the 'Connection Managers'.
When I'm on the 'Data Flow' tab I can't find a Data Flow Item to use as a MS Access connection.
(available on the 'Data Flow Sources' are only: DataReader, Excel, Flat File, OLE DB, Raw File and XML Sources)
What am I doing wrong/missing?

I am having a problem importing data from xls and access into my SQL2005 DB using SSIS. Would appreciate any help in getting this resolved. I am exporting 350 tables data from SQL Server 2005 to Access 2003.and getting the below error.

I am try to transfer some tables data from one database server into another database server. I create a package in SSIS, and I use a variable to pass each table name. In Data flow, I use a OLEDB Source, but I cannot set the Data access mode to Table name or view name variable. Ever time, I will get this following error info "===================================

I'm trying to re-write my database to de-couple the interface (MS Access) from the SQL Backend. Â As a result, I'm going to write a number of Stored Procedures to replace the MS Access code. Â My first attempt worked on a small sample, however, trying to move this on to a real table hasn't worked (I've amended the SP and code to try and get it to work on 2 fields, rather than the full 20 plus).It works in SQL Management console (supply a Client ID, it returns all the client details), but does not return anything (recordset closed) when trying to access via VBA code.The Stored procedure is:-

I have a client who has SSMS installed on her laptop. She is able to connect to the SQL server via SSMS in the office and query data on the server.
She needs to be out of site often and doesn't have internet access. She asks if the data tables can be "backed up" or saved on her laptop, so she can look at them without worrying connecting to the server. I am not sure if this can be achieved, as SSMS is built for accessing a server, not a desktop. Myself never have this need. If I really need it, I would go to Microsoft Access and create an ODBC connection to the datatables. But this client thinks that Microsoft Access is beneath her.Â

I am receiving the following errors while trying to import data from an access database.
[Destination 2 - Amc_C_ARRV [400]] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "Invalid character value for cast specification".
[Destination 2 - Amc_C_ARRV [400]] Error: There was an error with input column "tSympOnsetDate" (494) on input "Destination Input" (413). The column status returned was: "Conversion failed because the data value overflowed the specified type.".
[Destination 2 - Amc_C_ARRV [400]] Error: The "input "Destination Input" (413)" failed because error code 0xC020907A occurred, and the error row disposition on "input "Destination Input" (413)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component.
The source database has "invalid" dates such as "6/4/199" and "12/23/1899". I am unable to change the data in the source database and have been instructed to load the values as nulls in the SQL destination tables. I tried to do a conditional split using a "ISDATE()" function but that is not a valid function for conditional splits.
What are my options for validating the incoming dates are correct or nulling the dates out that aren't

I have recently upgraded to SQL2014 on Win2012. The Access front end program works fine.
But, previously created Excel reports with built in MS Queries now fail with the above error for users with MS 2013. The queries still work for users still using MS 2007.Â
I also cannot create any new queries and get the same error message. If I log on as myself on the domain to another PC with 2007 installed it works fine, so I don't think it is anything to do with AD groups or permissions.

We need to insert data/rows from a SQL Server 2014 database into MS Access database. The problem is, there are so many columns (100+) in the table and there are so many insert transactions of this kind (from different tables) that it is not very easy to write the code in VB.NET that lists all column names.
Both the Access and SQL Server tables have the same number of columns and the equivalent data types, so inserting is not really the problem. It's just that is there a way to do an insert statement in T-SQL that does not name all the columns?

I've been developing desktop client-server and web apps and have used Access and SQL Server Standard most of the time.
I'm looking into using SQL CE, and had a few questions that I can't seem to get a clear picture on:
- The documentation for CE says that it supports 256 simultaneous connections and offers the Isolation levels, Transactions, Locking, etc with a 4GB DB. But most people say that CE is strictly a single-user DB and should not be used as a DB Server.
Could CE be extended for use as a multi-user DB Server by creating a custom server such as a .NET Remoting Server hosted through a Windows Service (or any other custom host) on a machine whereby the CE DB would run in-process with this server on the machine which would then be accessed by multiple users from multiple machines??
Clients PCs -> Server PC hosting Remoting Service -> ADO.NET -> SQL CE
- and further more can we use Enterprise Services (Serviced Components) to connect to SQL CE and further extend this model to offer a pure high-quality DB Server?

Hi everyone I have 3 tables (SQL table) one is the employees table and the other two are link tables for documents the tables have a one to many relationship. everything is running smoothly accept in my in my access form (which is the gui for my users) I can get the field names to look like a hyperlink but I cant insert the address. Since they are sql server tables thats not an option. Can someone help me out pls. I attached a pic of the drop down box to give you a visual of what I'm talking about
is there a TRIGGER OR STORED PROCEDURE I could create for this maybe?? Do know VB so wsa wondering if there is a way I could bo it by using sql instead??

Hi everyone, I am trying to hyperlink a file to the report. We are running visual and in one of the fields, we have a pdf file linked to it. When I tried making a report that pulls that information so we can click on it and be linked directly to the file, but all it gives me is the path to the file. Is it possible to link it that way??? I notice under properties, there are option for linking but its just for a report, bookmark, and URL. but none for direct files. Please help.

Hello,
I have created an SRS Report, that contains a list of Account Names.
On my reports, I need to create hyperlinks for the Account Names field. So I tried the following;
- In Layout mode, selected appropriate field (AccountidName)
- Right mouse clicked and selected Properties
- Selected Jump to URL
- From field list, selected AccountId
- Clicked OK
How do I get the URL to work?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have developed a report using microsoft reporting services with certain fields
In my report the user enters name (which is a parameter) and the report is displayed
Inside my report. I have a field studentID which should be a link which when clicked should take me to a new report which is a report in extranet.
Currently I dont have access to that rdl and for certain reasons, I am asked to link to that report by
coding a hyperlink in development
I know that in the text box under action properties I need to give the url , but its not working
Should i specify the student id anywhere .
What and where should I code??

I want to store an image hyperlink in a sql database but don't seem to be able to do it..is this do-able?
I can store a hyperlink in text format, no problem, but how do I do the same with an image?
I want to use images in my images folder. I can create an image field and set the required options to display images all that is pretty straight forward but trying to display the image as a hyperlink ( actually it's a mailto: link I want to use) seems not to be an option.
The purpose of this is to allow users to upload an image together with their email address and when other users click on the image it fires up their email app. I do not want to have to use a text link.

I have a web control which produces a drop down list of items that are stored in my database. The problem is that my SQL call is not properly displaying the hyperlink in .aspx please see my screen shot and code below. I also have ensured the link table in access is set to hyperlink. Installed it came with SQL Server 2005, and for awhile now I have been trying to create a hyperling to a folder with our scanned files on it. I go to the Jump URL and then I put in a link address like
