JavaScript Error When Deleting User From Report

Jan 22, 2007

Hello,

Have a problem here needs urgent help. We are on SQL Server 2005, just recently installed SP2. Not sure if the problem is related to that but just now I tried to delete a user from a report (Properties > Security > Delete) I got a JavaScript error exclaimation mark at the bottom of my browser, when I clicked on it, it showed javascript error: 'return' statement outside of function.

The delete user function worked well all along until today, our IT installed SQL 2005 SP2 last week, not sure if it is related. Any solution? (uninstalling SP2 is not an option). and all other javascript functions worked well except the remove user in the security setting..I have no idea what is wrong..

Please advise!! HELP!!!!!

Thanks in advance.

[JavaScript Error] Cannot Delete User Or User's Authority In Specific Report After Install SQL SP2

Jan 23, 2007

 Hi,

I have several reports for users to view on our Intranet. After installation of SQL 2005 SP2 patch, I cannot delete user or user's authority from Report in Properties Tab. An error message was shown on the status bar. It indicated that JavaScript Error: 'Return' statement outside of function. Seems something wrong with the 'Delete' funciton in SQL 2005 after update. The other functions worked fine. Could you point me out how to fix it or need to install any updates / hotfix. Thanks a lot!

Error When Deleting Report In Report Manager And SQL Management Studio

Sep 19, 2007

I am getting a rsInternalError when I try to delete a report in Report Manager and SQL Management Studio. I am able to deploy, move (as long as the report doesn't exist at the destination) and upload but not delete.

This is the error dump:

SQL Server 2014 :: Add JavaScript Function In SSRS Report?

Mar 17, 2015

I have a Javascript Function provided by our .NET Developer Team.

This code has to be used in a "Text Box" and in Text Box "Action Property" this will be added in the "Go To URL" section.

But Since i have no understanding of Javascript i am not been able to add it.I tried a method of adding this code in the expression section, but it gives error of "End of statement" in Preview section.

Javascript Error When Trying Url Access

Apr 20, 2006

Hi,

i have a problem with the rs 2005, using url access to call a report:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Error: 'RSClientController' is undefined

Calling a report from the reportmanager works. The rs2005 runs on a machine with a parallel installed rs2000.

I configured the virtual directory to machinename/reports2005 & machinename/reportserver2005.

When i debug the clientscript i see that he requests a "/ReportServer2005/Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd?OpType=Resource&Version=9.00.1399.00&Name=Scripts.ReportViewer.js" and it seems that he doesn't get the jscript file.

I tried the solution with the axd-mapping, which an user posted here before but it didn't worked for me.

any other suggestions?

Cannot Find Server Or DNS Error When Using JAVASCRIPT Window.open With DNS Alias

Oct 15, 2007

Using SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services and want to open new IE window to link to a site.
We are using IE 6.0.

I am using the following Navigation "Jump to URL" in report:
javascript:void(window.open('http://www.microsoft.com/en/us/default.aspx'))

This works as expected if I am not using the DNS alias to reference Reporting Services. But if I use the DNS alias when referencing Reporting Services, then when I click the link in the report I get the "Cannot find server or DNS Error" in the IE window that opens. Everything else works correctly in the reports when I use the DNS alias.

Anyone have a clue why this is happening?

Thanks, DR

Fixed Header With Empty Data Set Created Javascript Error : Object Required

Feb 14, 2008

I have a report with a fixed header that works properly when the query returns results (or fixedheader = false). However, when the result set is empty, I get tenacious client-side "object required" errors. Obviously I can either turn the fixedheaders off or disable debugging in IE, but is there a Microsoft fix for this problem?

This is what I have.

SELECT *
FROM OPENQUERY(ADSI,

Let me know if you have any suggestions!

SQL Error When Deleting Index

Jan 6, 2004

Hi.

I have a SQL 2000 database. The table's primary key is set up as a "regular" index and another field is set up as a clustered index. When attempting to delete the index on this other field, I am receiving the following error message:

'tblQuestionAnswer' table
- Unable to delete index 'tblQuestionAnswer1'.
ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]A column has been specified more than once in the order by list. Columns in the order by list must be unique.

I do not understand why I am receiving this message in relation to the deletion of an index. Any ideas?

Report Export Failing: An Internal Error Occurred On The Report Server. See The Error Log For More Details.

Feb 14, 2007

I have a pretty complicated report (lots of subreports, tables, etc) that can be well over a few hundred pages long. I can generate the report just fine, but I cannot seem to export it to anything other than an html archive. I need to export to PDF. Every time I try to export it get an error that says:

An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.

I don't get any more information than that. Is there a way that I can figure out what the actual error is, or any other way I can go about troubleshooting this? Thanks.

Affect Of Deleting Error Messages

Jun 10, 2004

I'm using a unique index on a table with ignore_dup_key to get around using distinct in a stored procedure. In Query analyser, when I issue the stored procedure, you get a message and also the data in the Grid. In a stored procedure call, initiated from MS Access, the message means I have to put additional client side programming to work around it. I know that duplicate keys are ignored; that is why I've created the table with this feature (unique index in combination with ignore_dup_key). So what's with the message. If I delete the Error message 3604 will I still get an error message?

Tried Generate Script And Got An Error Message-for Deleting A Row

Jul 13, 2001

Hi, Thanx 4 ur response.. When I tried that I got an error message
14300: (SQL Server) Circular dependancies exist- Dependancy evaluation cannot continue.. Sorry to bug again--Are there any clues

------------
Jim at 7/13/01 3:59:32 PM

Right click on the table and hit "Generate SQL Script" (under all tasks). On the options tab in the middle of the page check off all four contraint boxes. This will generate all of the sql to add and drop the contraints (and table, so remove this one before running).

------------
King at 7/13/01 3:07:49 PM

Is there any way to delete an unwanted row on a table with 300 or more constraints with less modifications to contraints? Or is there any other way that can remove the unwanted row without much risk? Dropping the constraints is possible but re-adding the constraints may not be possible because the create constraint statements are not known. And readding the constraints may take time because the database physical size is around 1GB... Please help

Is There A Way To Show A User-friendly Error When User Did Not Select A Required Parameter ?

Apr 9, 2007

Hi all,

I was wondering whether there is a way to show the user an error when the user did not select a specific parameter.

In my case, I have two optional parameters. The user has to select either one to view the report. If the user does not select either one, I would like to show some sort of an error page indicating so. However, all i am getting is a complete blank with no report in sight. I as a developer know this is an error as a result of missing parameters, but i was wondering whether I could produce a page or direct it to a page so that the user doesn't go all horrified at an empty page ?

Thanks

Bernard

Nov 22, 2007

i'm using the Enterpirse library logger to write logs into a database.
When choosing connection string i choose the database i want in the "connection properties" dialog box and

SqlDataSource And Javascript

Jan 4, 2007

Hello everyone,
I am trying to implement two list boxes such that contents of one depends on selection in the other w/o reloading the page. I am using SqlDataSource object to retrieve data from SQL DB. When I am trying to write javascript for listbox population I run into an issue of not knowing which properties I have access to for SqlDataSource object. I need to know how many rows of information is there in the object and how to access that data. Can anyone advise on how would I do that, or direct me to a website that has a list of avalable properties?
