I need to import data from csv-file to sdf-database (SQL CE 2.0). When I copy the csv-file to my mobile device, it thakes more than 1 hour. The sdf-File later has a size of 20MB.
If I create an sdf-File (SQL CE 3.0) on the desktop, it just thakes a few minutes.
Is it possible to create an sdf-File (SQL CE 2.0) on the desktop legally? My clients don't want to by the SQL-Server, because it should be an inexpensive solution.
Or is there another way to create the database with more performance?
I want to load a table from a file. My file has a fixed length(fixed block) and have the same fields of the table. I need the right sintaxis, because The next with errors:

ANY ADVICE will be greatly apreciatted because I'm not an expert in databases. Thank you veru much.

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to use DTS Transformation to load a test file to a view instead of a table? When I select from the DTS window, only tables are available for selections not the views.
We need to load a "master" flat file to SQL Server tables. The file is a dump from mainframe. Based on a field called "record_type", each record in the file has different columns. I would use the following as an example (the real file is much more complicated than this, but you get the idea):
If "M", the fields are "age", "gender", "birthdate", "state", "salary"
If "F", the fields are "age", "gender", "birthdate", "state", "company", "salary"
We need to load the file (only one file) into two different tables, M_table, and F_table. But I have researched and discovered in DTS the source (TEXT file) can not be queried against to filter on the gender field.
Since each record may have different number of fields, I cannot really load the flat file into a "staging" table.
Does anyone has any idea on how to achieve this? Thanks in advance!!!
I am after T-SQL code which will simply load the next T-log backup file from a network share folder to a warm standby db on a secondary server. What is needed is a Third server (server x), to participate in log shipping (MULTIPLE TARGETS).
Primary SERVER (SERVER A) Secondary SERVER (SERVER B) Log shipped to via GUI. THIRD SERVER (SERVER X) which will contain the same log shipped db from server A.
This will simply restore the logs from a network share to keep the db up to date.
as Declare @xml VARCHAR(MAX) Declare @i as int select @xml=BulkColumn from openrowset(bulk 'C:Documents and SettingsKasiDesktopote.xml', single_clob)as cse EXEC sp_xml_preparedocument @i OUTPUT,@xml Select * From OpenXML(@i,'/college/cse',2) With (name varchar(50), rollno int, year int)
i got the output... but i want to give path as parameter during execution of procedure name. can anyone help me..
I have a file which has * as the field delimiter and ~ as the record delimiter, but I don't know how much columns each row will have. Only known is the maximum which can be 15.
The file looks something like: A1*A2*A3*~B1*B2~C1*C2*C3*C4*C5~
SO I have created a table with 15 columns(since 15 can be the max) but now when I try to insert it to that table, I inserts only the entire file into 1 single column.
The command which I am using is: BULK INSERT tablename FROM filename WITH (FIELDTERMINATOR = '*' , ROWTERMINATOR = '~')
but this is not giving the correct output.
The output expected is A1 A2 A3 B1 B2 C1 C2 C3 C4 C5
I have a proc like this (T-SQL, SQL Server 2000):Alter Proc ImportXML@chvFullFileName varchar(200),@txtInputXML text=''ASMy question is how can I load the contents of the XMLFile into theparameter called @txtInputXML ? Let us say my full file path isC:XMLSampleXML.txt. I want to load this into parameter as one stringWhat do I use ? bulkcopy or something else ?Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks
we always get all versions of the DTS File. Could you help us to Load or Save only the last version of the file? Is there any option of this procedure sp_OAMethod (or other) that solve the problem?
I have deployed an MVC web app/SSAS database to our PROD machine and receive the following error:
Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft. Analysis Services.AdomdClient, Version=11.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89845dcd8080cc91' or one of its dependencies.
The system cannot find the file specified. The OLAP database has been processed and contains data. Also, the MVC app contains a reference to Microsoft. AnalysisServices. AdomdClient.
I have also tried installing the SQL_AS_ADOMD.msi from: URL....
I'm in the process of migrating several SQL Server 2000 DTS packages to Integration Services packages. One of the old 2000 DTS packages used the SQLXML Bulk Loader component. In order to use the new SQLXML 4 COM object in my Script Task (to initiate the Bulk Loader using .NET code) I've used the tlbimp.exe tool to create a .NET wrapper DLL. I've placed the DLL in the appropriate directory (C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90SDKAssemblies), successfully added it to my project (with Intellisense working), but when I run the package it fails with the following error:
Could not load file or assembly 'SQLXMLBULKLOADLib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Note: I also tried placing the DLL in C:WINDOWSMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727 with no prevail.
I've confirm the file exists (and any dependencies) in their appropriate locations. Has anyone else run into this? Any help is much appreciated.
Hello, I had a dat file which has 4000 plus columns, When I tried to get imported the files through SSIS import/export wizard, I got the error that the files consists of columns more then 1024. As the base table in the Sql server 2005 can have not more then 1024.
When I tried to load the file in partial columns, I am getting different errors and not loading properly. There is any way this file can be loaded manullay script mode through SSIS.
Hi, I have a custom library (ReportLibary.dll) and ı added it as a reference to the report (Report.rdl). I also copied the dll file to ..IDEPrivateAssemblies. The report uses a methot from the dll to get some data. When ı run the report from my local computer there is no problem, the data is generated from the dll. But when I depoy it to the sever an exception occurs.
"Error while loading code module: €˜ReportLibary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null€™. Details: Could not load file or assembly 'ReportLibary, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. Can not find the file. d:...Report.rdl"
I hope ı can find a solution to my problem. Thanks in advance.
I have a dataflow task which has 3 oledb source objects connected to each data conversion object and these are connected to a union all and finally to a flat file destination.
The purpose of this one is to extract data and pump them to the flat file.
If i run this in production during the time users are doing transactional processes (typical, add, edit delete), will it have an impact?
Hi all...I would like to know if SQL SERVER can load a tab delimited text file.If yes, how?A search on the web did not return me the "load data" command as mysqlor other.Thank you all.
When loading a table in a data flow from a text file that contains non-null float values, I am seeing erratic and inconsistent results. I am presently using SQL Server Destination in a data flow.
- With low volumnes of data, less that 50,000 rows, no problems
- But with higher volumnes, 2,000,000+ rows, I get different results depending on how I run the package. If I run is directly (right-click and click on Execute), I get the expected result.
But if I use SQL Server Agent to run the package, half of the values are lost and nulls are loaded instead. I have inspected the into text file and there are few rows with null for the column.
I am trying to load a XML file into a string variable using a XML Task. The file is 67,936 KB. When I excecute the package in the dev environment I get the following error:
[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.".
Has anybody run into this before? In the next step I pass the XMLData string to a stored procedure which loads it into a table with a XML data type column.
