Loop Throught Columns Of An Excel File Using Dtsx Package!

I'd need an help because I'm stucked!!
I have to import an Excel file into my DB.
The Excel file is made by 2 worksheets but I need only one and inside this worksheet I have to loop through the columns and for each column I define a Data Flow that trasform the data as necessary and then insert into the table.
I started with a "Foreach ADO.NET Schema Rowset Enumerator" with connection=excel file and the schema was set to "Columns" but the loop go also through the worksheet that I don't need..
after 4 hours of tries I'm lost...
Someone could give me an advice?

I am having trouble with a dtsx package to truncate a table, then insert the contents of a .csv file. The package is being executed off the local filesystem, reading a csv on the same file system, and inserting into a remote SQL 2k5 server. If I run the package alone in BI it will run perfectly, if I implement the package into a console app in visual studio, it will trunc the table, but will not insert any of the data in the csv file. When running from DtExec I recieve the following error on the CSV portion after the table is truncated:
Code: 0xC00470FE Soure: Data Flow Task DTS.Pipeline Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRODUCTLEVELTOLOW. The product level is insufficient for for componenet "Soure - My_File_CSV" (1).
I have tried all the work arounds I can find without any luck. All help will be appreciated.
So I've seen articles outlining how to execute a package in VB and how to pass variables along to the package, which is great.
But I'm wanting write a VB.NET app that will read the xml in a .dtsx package, looking for the available variables (and datatypes) that need to be passed to the package to configure it properly. Anyone done this? Is it best to use parent package variables? Or another type of configuration?
When looking at the xml of a .dtsx file, I can see a variables section that could be parsed... is there anything letting me know what is required versus optional? How do I know the datatype that I need to pass? Any help would be appreciated...

I have a dtsx package that is calling another dtsx package, however, if the called upon dtsx package fails with errors or what not, then the calling package does not continue as well. Is there any way to override this such that if the called upon package fails, the downstream actions in that package can stop, but the calling packages downstream actions to continue?
How can I use a foreach loop container with an Excel connection manager. It is virtually impossible to configure the ConectionString property through expressions builder. Everything works fine with a Flat File connection manager but when it comes to Excel, I get the following error message: Error 1 Validation error. I am using a Excel Source to get the data from an excel file to sql server 2005 table. A couple columns are coming in a double precision float, but some values have characters in them, but those values are coming out as null, even though I changed the datatype from float to unicode string. Any inputs on resolving this will be much appreciated.
Hello, I'm new at Integration services and I have an excel file with information in several worksheets. I want to loop through some specific sheets to retrieve the data and save it in a database table. I know how to retrieve the data from one sheet, but I don't know how to do it for several sheets. Any ideas?...I would appreciate any help.
i have an SSIS package that exports to an excel file. This works fine. the problem is that it appends the data instead of overwriting the file. Is there any way to overwrite the file like you can with a flat file? I have to email the file everyweek and don't want to have to clear it out manually. Any help would be appreciated
I have an SSIS package which is suppose to read this db file and insert it into the SQL 2005 table. But when I execute this package it goes into a loop, reading the file over and over again. The package fails after inserting some 10 million rows ( actual rows are not more then 270,000) giving the error msg 'Not enough space on temporary disk'.
On examing the data transfered into SQL there are duplicate rows.
I also used the import export wizard (thinking there might be some error in Package code) provided by SQL to transfer the data from .db to SQL but it has the same result(goes in a loop).
I would appreciate any help in this problem. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I have a bundling package that runs about 20 other packages. It has been working fine for a while but a couple of days ago it fail with the following message,
Error 0x800706BE while loading package file "D:PackagesToradSales.dtsx". The remote procedure call failed.
I´m running the SSIS packages in an 64-bit environment.
In BI Tool SSIS Packages run fine and get data From Oracle and Save it in SQL Server.
Package Protection Level is EncryptSensitivewithPassword.
In BI tool when i open the package it ask password and then run fine.
If i change the Protection Level to Dont save Sensitive,
It does not run fine in even BI tool.
It is fine if i use EncryptSensitivewithPassword.in BI Tool and run it.
Now the problem is that i need to run this package through SQL Job.
so Job give error
"Failed to decrypt an encrypted XML node because the password was not specified or not correct. Package load will attempt to continue without the encrypted information."
I am trying to update a SQL table using an excel file which has 2 columns FMStyle and FMHSNum.
FMStyle is my link to the SQL table.

Everything seems to be ok except for the "Where FMStyle" is giving me a message Invalid Column name on FMStyle. Do I need to qualify FMStyle and if so how.
I have a created a DTS packges which is reading data from sql server table, manipulate this data as required and then create a text file with that data. I created the text file using FileSystemObject. I was writing one field at a time to the text file.
I need to same thing but instead of creating text file, I need to create a excel file with each column from database going to separate column in excel sheet. I tried to do this with FileSystemObject, but it was wrting all the columns from database to one cell in excel sheet. How can I fix this problem?

It's works fine on my computer (x86) and if I start the package manually on the x64-server. But I noticed that it runs under 32bit (DTExecUI.exe *32 in taskmanager) when it's started manually.
Any idea? The server use dtexec.exe to start the packages. Maybe it runs under 64bit then?
Hi,I have an Excel file with 400 rows of old values and the correspondingnew values. My table currently has 10 columns out of which 3 columnsuse the old value specified in the excel file. I need to update thoseold values in the columns with the new values from the Excel file.Please guide me as to how to proceed with this.Thanks in advance!
Hello everybody... I have a very simple SSIS package that loop throught the worksheets of an Excel file and insert the data into a SQL server 2005 table.
The SSIS is very simple and works fine the problem is that after the Package executes if I double click on the Excel file imported I have the message that the file is in use.
I think that the Excel connection manager of the package doesn't release the Excel resourse but this is only a guess..
Do am I right? If yes how can I release the resource?
I understand that I can use dtutil to provide a password to encrypt the package. However, when I run the encrypted package, I need to provide the same password in order to run it. Is there a way that I can encrypt the package but allow anybody to run it without providing the password? That is, I want the package to be encrypted so that nobody can load and modify the code in Visual Studio, but I want people to be able to execute it. Is there a way to do this? Similar to generating a exe file?
SSIS package created from the wizard couldn't be run from the visual studio editor? The run button is disabled. Is it not possible to run from inside editor as well?
I experienced a weird error while deploying my SSIS package. After running the manifest file, i noticed that one of the configuration file's path was not updated in the dtsx file. My solution has 8 packages and almost every package has 2 configuration files. Except 1 file every other config file's path is being updated. Has anybody experieced such a problem?
I have a task where I need to process roughly 60000 excel spreadsheets and bring them into a SQL Server 2014 database. All excel files have the same format and same number of identical columns. I have set up an SSIS package that is using Foreach Loop Container to look into a folder and process these files one at a time and load them to a table. The mappings are straight-forward, no problems there.
I am attaching a sample spreadsheet with two tabs - current structure and desired structure.
Basically what I need to do is to repeat the first 7 columns based on the number of lines in a transaction.
 I have a situation where I want to load the Excel file dynamically, and the excel file have different columns or even worksheet name. How I could approach this? I believe there's no way to modify the meta data (specifically the mapping) in the data flow.

I used to write DTS Scripts in SQL Server 2000 and schedule them as jobs with out problem.
This was normally done within SQL Server its self.
Now that I've moved to using SQL Server 2005 I've been learning how to use SSIS.
I've successfully developed a package and managed to create a .dtsx file. Now I have 2 large books on the subject of SSIS but none seem to go into any detail on what to do next.
So here€™s my newbie question (I apologise if I sound dumb!):
I don't want to run my package manually as the books keep telling me how to do.
I need to have my package added into SQL Server 2005 somehow and then schedule it as a reoccurring job.

Is there a way to strip out the annotations from a dtsx package. I'm looking at quite a few and would like to automaticly pull those out and store them somewhere in either a table or a text file.
Is this possible or am I going to have to hand copy them out?
I'm trying to create a simple .dtsx package that imports data to SQL server 2005 from an informix 7.3 db using an ADO.net ODBC connection. I am first creating the groundwork for the dtsx package in SQL server using the wizard, and then editing the file later in visual studio.
My data source SQL in the dataflow task is simple and it works great until I hit a locked record on the Informix database.

The work around syntax for the locked row on the informix DB should be:
set isolation to dirty read
go
select <coulmns>
from <table>
where <condition>
This syntax will return the data correctly using a non-microsoft SQL editor, however it will will not parse corectly within visual studio. Interestingly enough, in visual studio I can parse the islolation and the select indenpendantly, just not in the same statement.
Has anyone come across this before? Any ideas on what I can do to resolve my problem?
