I am trying to import Access reports using Visual Studio 2005 and Access 2007. SQL Server 2005 with Reporting Services is also installed. I select Reports in the Solution Explorer and then Import Reports... Microsoft Access and browse to my Access database. After I select the database I see it open briefly as if it is trying to import the reports but then Access quickly closes and a error pops up: "You already have the database open." I have checked and double checked and the database is not open. I have even tried several different databases and the same errror occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I installed SQL 2005 on x64 machine and notice that my Y: drive (data drive) has these additional directories (shown below). I know those files are components of €œMicrosoft Application Error Reporting€?. They are shared among multiple applications, hence them being in €œcommon files€?. After disabling the error reporting using Microsoft SQL Server 2005->Configuration Tools->Error and Usage Reporting, can I get rid of those directories or specify which directory that it should go to? Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.
The following had been installed to the drive that we did not specify in the installation of SQL 2005. Is there any way to redirect these file back the window directory?

I'm working with Vista + IIS7 + SQL Server 2005 SP2 (trial version entreprise) . When I try to access on this url : http://localhost/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx, I have the error : "The reports server is not responding. Make sure it is operational and accessible from that computer.", and when I try to access on the other url : http://localhost/ReportServer/, the error is : "Erreur HTTP 500.0 - Internal Server Error". Virtuals Folders "Reports" and "ReportServer" have been correctly created in IIS7 and services of MSSQLSERVER have been correctly launched. Do you have any idea?
I've installed SQL 2005 on a Windows 2003 R2 Server, I also installed another Web Server (Another Windows 2003 R2 Server) on a different machine. I've installed the Reporting Services on the Web Server. When I am trying to configure the report server, I successfully created the Virtual Directories, but when trying to do the "Database Setup" step, I am getting an error on the "Create a Grants Rights Script", with this message:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)) at System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ThrowExceptionForHRInternal(Int32 errorCode, IntPtr errorInfo) at System.Management.ManagementScope.InitializeGuts(Object o) at System.Management.ManagementScope.Initialize() at System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher.Initialize() at System.Management.ManagementObjectSearcher.Get() at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.WebUtil.GetIPAddresses(String machine) at ReportServicesConfigUI.Panels.DatabaseSetupPanel.IsLocalDbServer(String dbServer) at ReportServicesConfigUI.Panels.DatabaseSetupPanel.SetDatabaseConnectionTask(String connectionString, String server, String database, ConfigurationCredentialsType credsType, String account, String password, Boolean upgrade, String dbVersion)
As a result, I cannot run the reports nor get to the folder.aspx page on the manager side of the application. I am getting this HTML msg: The report server installation is not initialized. (rsReportServerNotActivated) (rsRPCError) Get Online Help
When installing the Reporing Server on the SQL Server machine, it works with no problems, and I am doing everything the same.
Would appreciate your help, I've been working on this for few days with no luck.
I recently changed my datasource in our Reporting Service Model. We changed to a quicker SQL server with disk capacity. I am able to run new reports but when I try to run old ones that were on the old datasource, I get an error. The datasource has been changed to point to the new server (datasource).
The error is: An error has occurred during report processing. I have an asp.net 2.0 web app that integrates with reporting services. Since installing sql server 2005 sp2 I get the following error when trying to access reports:
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
This data source is configured to use Windows integrated security. Windows integrated security is either disabled for this report server or your report server is using Trusted Account mode. (rsWindowsIntegratedSecurityDisabled)
I've checked the directory security for the report server website in IIS and integrated windows authentication is checked.
I can't understand what has caused the problem, before sp2 the reports were working fine.
I am trying to install Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services, Receiving the following error
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services -- Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:Config.Msi. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.
I am already logged in as Administrator and should have all the necessary permissions to install software
I have just installed RS and SP2 on a server running a MOSS 2007 (with SSL using an internal certificate) and configured RS to work on Sharepoint Integrated Mode. Then I went to Sharepoint to configure RS options, but when I tried to set up the Set Servers Defaults I receive the following error:

Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> Server was unable to process request. ---> The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. ---> The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
Also, when I try to deploy a report from SQL BI Development Studio to Sharepoint, I receive the error:

But I cannot connect to the 2nd instance through "SQL Server Management Studio". Also I am getting following error when I try to connect to the "Reporting services configuration" tool from a remote machine

I have problem during first configuration of Reporting Services from MS SQL 2005 Server Express with Advanced Services SP2. The error occurs when configuring virtual directory (Reporting Services Configuration Manager -> Report Server Virtual Directory). When I try to create new virtual directory I can see following messages:
Number of errors: 0 Create Virtual Directory
The virtual directory was created and assigned. Changing Secure Connection Level
After last message Windows reports that SQL Server 2005 Reporting Configuration Tool has encountered a problem and needs to close (and I can send report to Microsoft).
IIS shows that virtual directory under default web site was created.
My environment: MS SQL Reporting Services Version 9.00.3042.00 Windows XP Proffessional SP2 IIS 5.1 all components are fresh new installations. The only additional configuration I've made was adding IWAM_<hostname> as WebServiceAccount, all other configuration is default.

Please note that I develop reports locally against a database on another server; would this be part of the problem? Let me know if you need more info, too. Thanks.

I'm trying to make some reports using the sql 2005 reporting services addin for Visual Web Developer Express 2005. I download the add-in here. So far it installed "successfully". The problem i have is when i try to add a datasource to the report at "Report > Data Sources... " it gives me an error saying: "The system cannot find the file specified."
Another Error it gives is that when I try to drag a DataSet field from the Website Data Sources toolbox tab the visual web developer crashes :/.
An observation that I don't know if this is ok is when I create a new Data Source it creates an App_Code folder inside where my report is /Reports/ and there it saves the DataSet. Just an observation...
This is my development enviorment:

Hi, I want to get data from Oracle 10g Stored procedure to Reporting Services 2005. I could pass a SQL text and get a record set, but I want to execute a store proc and get the record set.
1. Add New Data Source 2. Choose Type : Oracle and connection tested OK 3. { call Test_Package.Test_Procedure(?) } is it wrong... how to write??? There is an error in the query. ORA-00911: invalid character
Also make sure that you use the text-based generic query designer (2 panes !) instead of the visual query designer (4 panes) - you can switch between them through an icon on the toolbar in the data view of report designer. Question : I tried many methods but unable to solve it...
create or replace PACKAGE Test_Package AS TYPE Test_Type IS REF CURSOR RETURN Test_Table%ROWTYPE; END Test_Package;
create or replace PROCEDURE Test_Procedure ( Test_Cursor IN OUT Test_Package.Test_Type, Test_Parameter IN Test_Table.ID%TYPE ) AS BEGIN OPEN Test_Cursor FOR SELECT * FROM Test_Table WHERE Test_Table.ID >= Test_Parameter; END Test_Procedure;
The below site gave some example but i could not solve it... any suggestions greatly appreciated...
How can deploy Reporting Service 2005 runtime with VisualStudio 2005? The reason here goes...
I have completed my project in VS2005. Now I am trying to make package. But here, i do not know how to deploy Reporting Service (My Report files) to Customer's Server with Setup or any other runtime solution. thanks
I recently installed SQL Server 2005 Enterprise on a machine running Server 2003. I have successfully configured Reporting Services (see below for summary of settings) - Used the defaults for the Repor tServer and Report Manager Virtual Directories - Windows Service Identity set to domain user. The domain user is part of the administrator group on the machine and has sysadmin rights to the database - Web Service Identity set to NT AuthorityNetworkService
When I open http://localhost/reports/, I get the following error:
I have check a bunch of forums, but have no success. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!

I have created an RDL file programatically. When I execute the code I get the error as mentioned below:
Error: Sub report cannot be shown. An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError)
When I copy and paste the code of RDL file into new RDL file and try to preview the output I get correct result. Note: The new RDL file does not give any error if the output is seen using preview tab but it gives the error only when executed from report viewer or from internet explorer.
Any Suggestion/feedback is highly appreciated. Thank You.

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified. Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB'. No entry found with that name. Make sure that the name is entered correctly. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.ThrowExceptionAndWarning(TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.TdsParser.Run(RunBehavior runBehavior, SqlCommand cmdHandler, SqlDataReader dataStream, BulkCopySimpleResultSet bulkCopyHandler, TdsParserStateObject stateObj) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.RunExecuteNonQueryTds(String methodName, Boolean async) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.InternalExecuteNonQuery(DbAsyncResult result, String methodName, Boolean sendToPipe) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlCommand.ExecuteNonQuery() at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Common.DBUtils.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script) at ReportServicesConfigUI.SqlClientTools.SqlTools.ApplyScript(String connectionString, String script)
It's driving me crazy, why is it looking for 'ReportServerTempDBTempDB' in the catalog instead of 'ReportServerTempDB'? Is it possible to migrate from 32bit to 64bit?
I am trying to learn Reporting Services using the title "MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Step by Step" by Stacia Misner and Hitachi Consulting, published in 2006. I am experiencing problems with some of the exercises. I got as far as Chapter 4 when I followed directions to create a SQL statement to define a query string for a dataset. Pg 80:
select * from vProductProfitability
where year = 2003 and
MonthNumberOfYear = 1
The view vProductProfitability does not exist in the tutorial database that came with the book, rs2005sbsDW. The result of this query is the basis for the entire chapter on developing basic reports and I'm being denied a learning opportunity because the view does not exist. In short, I'm stuck.
I have tried to find somewhere at Microsoft to place this question and get some answers so I can continue thru the tutorial. To no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?
BTW, the solution that came in the CD is also wrong because the query noted above is also in the solution.
I'm currently receiving the following error message whilst attempting to install SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition on Windows Server 2003 (32 Bit): Error 29528. The setup has encountered an unexpected error while Installing performance counters. The error is: The system cannot find the file specified.
This server already has an install of SQL Server 2000 as the default instance. I'm attempting to install a new named instance of SQL Server 2005.

You can ignore this and it will complete the installation, but subsequently trying to patch with SP2 will fail on the same sections - Hotfix.exe crashes whilst attempting to patch Database Services, Integration Services and Client Components (3 separate crashes).
I've removed SQL Server 2005 elements and tried to re-install, but it's not improved the situation.
We would like to install Sql 2005 Enterprise Edition (including database engine, reporting service, integration service and analysis service) as a sepearte instance on a server which already has Sql 2000 with reporting services and analysis services. We do not want to disturb the existing sql 2000 setup.
If we do that then what will happen to my earlier sql 2000 reporting service? Will it be upgraded to sql 2005 reporting service? I heard that reporting services are instance unaware application. Where will be the default reporting service database available?
How i can hide the "error: Subreport could not be shown" message when record set returns null.
In debug window actual error is :
[rsRuntimeErrorInExpression] The Value expression for the textbox €˜textbox6€™ contains an error: The query returned no rows for the data set. The expression therefore evaluates to null.
I have problem,in the reporting services.I generated a report which gives me total of 5 pages.
When I export the page to Acrobat,it shows me up with 10 pages. It pints every alternate page as blank. Here it shows 5 page of report, but alternate page is blank. And making sum of 10.
I'm using Report Builder to create a new report. The problem I'm having is that once I choose a Field from an Entity in the Entities list I can only choose Fields from that Entity. For example, I have two Entities, one called Customers and the other called Delivery. Within the Customer Entity I have several Fields that I want to add to my report, say First Name and Last Name. From the Delivery Entity I have a Status Field which I'd like to include but because I have no way to get back to my Entities list, without removing the Fields from my Report, I can't include that Field.
If I remove the Fields from my report, the Entities list then populates with both the Customers and Delivery Entities, THEN I can choose my Delivery Entity and select the Status Field. But I can't get back to the Customer Entity. I keep going back and forth.
I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong, or if there is a more efficient manner to accomplish what I'm trying to do.
