MS SQL Reporting Service In Windows 2003 Server

Jul 27, 2005

Hi,

I tried to Develop one Report in SQL Reporting Service. I have
installed SQL Reporting Serivice in Windows 2003 machine. SQL Server
Database is in another machine, running on Windows 2000. I developed
and deployed the report and all went fine.

When I tried to see the report through the Report Service Manager Web
Page it is comming properly. But When I tried to See the report in
another web page, I'm not able to see the images. But the Data is
getting Displayed and only Image is not comming. When I exported the
report to Excel, the Image is comming over there.

I am using Report Viewer control (Which came as Sample Program) in
the ASPX Page to render the report. I'm using SQL Server 2000 with SP3a
and SQL Server 2000 reporting Service with SP1.

I tried setting the Mime Time for the GIF image and even "*.*" in
the Mime Type settings of IIS 6.0. Even then its not displaying the
image.

Can any one help me out in solving the problem?

Thanks in Advance.

With Regds
Krish

(Windows Server 2003) Cannot Run SQLSERVERAGENT Service Under Non Admin User After SP1 Installation

Aug 14, 2006

Hi All,

I need a hand here, referring to this knowledge base on Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q283811) i applied this knowledge base, and it worked, the MSSQL and SQLSERVERAGENT have run under local non admin account.

But after i installed SP1, MSSQL service is ok, but SQLSERVERAGENT wont run. The warning message is : "Some service run and then stop if they have no work to do."

Is there any way i can install SP1 but in the same time run SQLSERVERAGENT under local non admin account?

Your assistance will be much appreciated

thank you very much in advance.

Windows Server 2003 And Reporting Services Error: For Security Reasons DTD Is Prohibited In This XML Document.

Mar 29, 2007

I do a clean install of SQL Server + RS + SP1 with standard setup on Windows Server 2003. I create a simple report (select * from aTable). This report (actually any report) shows the error message "For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method."

This has to do with security settings in Windows Server 2003. On Windows XP everything works fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Edit: The reports do work in the preview tab in BIDS.

Reporting Services Unavailable After Windows 2003 SP2 Installed

Jul 24, 2007

I have installed windows server 2003 on one of our test boxes (prior to live) and found that reporting services is now unavailable.

When I browse to the report server I get

Service Unavailable
The event log reports several times

"A process serving application pool 'reportserver' terminated unexpectedly. The process id was '3500'. The process exit code was '0xffffffff'.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

before the worker process is disabled:

"Application pool 'reportserver' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures in the process(es) serving that application pool.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

Has anyone seen similar behavior?

SQl With Windows Server 2003 SBS R2

Nov 25, 2006

We have purchased Windows 2003 Small Business Edition Premium.

Our company uses Analysis Manager / Analysis Services and also MDX functions. However Release2 only appears to have SQL 2005 Workgroup edition with it and these features do not seem to be present.

Does anybody know how I upgrade to get these functions? I don’t know if these functions can be downloaded or whether we have to upgrade by purchasing SQL Server Standard 2005 edition outright?

Thanks, Stephen.

Unable To Open Windows Service Identity Panel In Reporting Services Configuration Manager

Jul 4, 2007

Hi,

I've a slight problem with configuring my Report Server. I have set up everything apart from the initialisation and and the Windows Service Identity, however when I select the panel for the latter I am presented with a message box displaying the following:

" Reporting Services Configuration Manager:

There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retreiving WMI properties. The exception details are:

InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.

Parameter name: SelectedIndex "

I have tried re-installing the entire SQL server setup and this made no difference, I followed this by removing then reinstalling just the Report Service. Still nothing.

Any ideas as to what it is doing and how I should go about fixing it?

MSDE2000A + Windows 2003 Server

Jan 15, 2004

I have been searching the net and haven't found anything that has worked so far for resolving this issue, hopefully someone on here can provide some insight?

I did a fresh install of a Windows 2003 Standard Edition server (as part of a workgroup, not a domain..the server is only temporary for testing) and installed MSDE 2000A (the version that contains all current service packs). I can use the MSDE server locally on the server without any issue...however when I try to connect to MSDE with a workstation, it tells me that Access is denied or the Server does not exist.

The ICF is disabled, and all passowrds being entered have been checked, however I still can not connect to the sql server. Does anyone have any ideas on this or run into this problem before?

At first I thought it was just me, but has anyone else noticed that SQL 2005 suffers a performance hit when you install Windows Server 2003 SP2?

Since SP2, memory and hard drive usage has gone through the roof on a number of servers I use. It may just be coincidence... but it seems unlikely.

Now am I right in thinking Windows Server 2003 is an operating system. If it is can I install it alongside XP Professional which I am currently running. I am currently afraid to go ahead with the installation as I am worried it will overwrite XP, which would be disastrous as I have a great deal of data on it.

Some reason it is only allowing one connection at a time on the same database. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
