I've build a few reports in visual studio, they work and they don't work, in a minute I can run them next minute I can't and I get this errors in event viewer every time they can't be run:
Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the SQLPDW extension.
Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the TERADATA extension.

When I try to install sql server 2014 on my machine,all the features were installed but except Reporting services-Native and error occurred as shown below.

Hi All,
I have an issue with Reporting Services that I have been unable to fix or find any answers to. I hope you guys can help. I have a list of 10 reports that run during the period of 1-4 each morning. They are scheduled to run on each database at a different time (5 databases in all). So there should be 50 reports at the end of the night. I wrote a report that looks for the last status of a report that shows that it wasn€™t successful. The only thing it tells me is this:
Failure writing file ABC Production Report: An error has occurred during report processing.
When there is a login error then I get that message so I know it isn€™t that. Also reports can error out one night and then work the next night. When I look at the time that the error status was written I see that it took 4 seconds from run time.
Does anyone have a clue what this means or better yet how I can get all of these reports to work consistently?

I set up Reporting Services about 9 months ago when I installed Microsoft CRM 3 (Dynamics?), but these problems have only just started occurring. Lost count of how many hours have been wasted looking for answers!
Apologies if this rambles on like a cheap book but i don't want to miss out any of the detail..
CRM stops working within an hour of IIS starting up, but if somebody logs in to CRM before it goes down then it's fine for the rest of the day. However the next day it's back to square one. Looking through Event logs it seems to be caused by SQL Reporting Server, because;
Report Server errors show it starting up after IIS, but within an hour throws up "Exception: System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException - Message: Unable to find assembly 'Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics". It's at this point that IIS stops responding altogether, hence CRM stops working.
Running iisreset from the command line makes IIS work again, but this becomes a pain in the backside running it every morning before my colleagues get in. I have set up a schedule to run it for me, which works, but as i said if nobody logs in within the hour (which does happen at least once a week), then CRM won't work until i manually run iisreset again.
Also Reporting Services Configuration Manager does not start properly, so i can't even go through that to see if it's a config problem - when launching it i get an alert box with "An unknown error has occurred in the WMI Provider. Error Code 800706B3". That's with the default server name already in the box, but no matter what server name or IP I try to get it to connect to, it just will not have it. Also that error code seems to be unique to me, since not one webpage exists with the same code.
Other things i've gone through;
- SQL Server Configuration Manager shows everything Running, including Report Server
- SQL Management Studio shows all CRM & Reporting Services databases exist and are online.
- The Report Server error log shows this: "w3wp!library!1!29/03/2008-12:34:00:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerServiceUnavailableException: The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer' is not running. The service must be running to use Report Server."
- http://localhost/ works fine.
- http://localhost/Reports/ shows up a .Net error page with Security Exception error: "The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy".
- http://localhost/ReportServer/ shows up a page with "localhost/ReportServer - / ---- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Version 8.00.1038.00" which i assume is lacking correct content.
- When CRM was configured the setup wizard moaned that it could not use the existing Reporting Services database or IIS directories, so for that purpose there are two more virtual directories in IIS..
- https://localhost/ReportsSQL/ shows up an error: "Unable to connect to the remote server"
- https://localhost/ReportServerSQL/ shows up an error: "Reporting Services Error - The Report Server Windows service 'ReportServer' is not running. The service must be running to use Report Server. (rsReportServerServiceUnavailable)"
- While trying everything i am logged in as server admin
- Software specs: Windows 2003 Small Business Server (SP2), SQL Server Standard 2005 (9.0.3054 / SP2), all patches from Microsoft Update (not just Windows Update) have been applied.
If you managed to read this far then thank you.. I'm nearly bald with frustration so if someone could please suggest things worth looking into or trying, that would be very much appreciated.

I have a report that uses a stored procedure as a dataset.The stored procedure accepts four parameters, which I have defined in the report. works fine in query builder and SSMS.
When I run the report I get an error stating a parameter is missing. I tried deleting parameters and recreating not luck.

I have  data driven subscriptions which are working fine for some subscription and one i have newly developed which is used to send the missing punch report to employeesNow , when the subscription runs it shows that all have gone email in report server but some of they are not getting any email i have tested it on my id to send each ones report to me but i also get sometimes 2 of 15 , 4 of 15 or else but not all i also checked mailroot folder under my server's inetpub there are nothing stucks. How to check why is it not sending email to all employees ?

I have been going over the samples from PDC 2005 and trying to run the External Activator program in section 2 'CLR Services'. After sending a message to the Inventory Queue, I see that 'dm_broker_queue_monitors' table has a row in the table, with the state column shown as 'NOTIFIED', but the ExternalActivator program never gets notified of the event and therefore never launches the 'InventoryServer' program.
Querying the [ExternalActivatorQueue] shows no rows.
Querying the [Inventory Queue] shows messages are waiting to be received.
Executing the 'activator' command in the ExternalActviator program shows
Notification service 'ExternalActivator' on SQL Server 'DBSERVER' and Database 'In
ventory' is connected to the database and working.
Any Ideas?

I'm sure I'm not the only one frustrated trying to figure out which log file SSRS writes to when an error occurs. Does anybody know a sure way to tell? It doesn't change the date/time of the date modified, so you can't sort by date in windows explorer. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which file it writes to. For example, I had to go through 6 log files to find which one was being written to. I had thought (hoped) that it would always write to the log files with the latest embedded date/time stamp as part of the file name. It does not.
I'm tempted to start using a file system spy, or resort to other tactics. Does anyone have a sure fired way to see which log file is written to when an error occurs? I'm not talking about SQL Dump files - just "normal" errors when processing reports.

Hello All,
I just performed a fresh install of MSSQL 2005 Server Developer Edition on my XPSP2 machine along with MSSQL 2005 SP1 and I noticed that errors are not being reported in the Windows Event Viewer. Is there a way to enable/disable logging here?
I need to view these logs because when the tasks > 'copy database' task fails it submits its error in the Windows Event Log however since I reinstalled MSSQL 2005 these log entries don't appear here.

I created an SSIS package for a client that does data importing. When I run the pacakge from Visual Studio there is an error window showing all the errors and warnings. A good example of an error is if the import file is in the wrong format.When there is a error or warning can I write the error log to a file OR notify someone of the errors so they can make corrections and rerun the package OR any ideas that the client can find out what went wrong and then make corrections accordingly? I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database

I started my Reporting Server and if I use the Internet Explorer as a Administrator everything works fine.But if I don't open it as an admin it calls "rsAccess Denied The user [...] does not have the permission...".Problem is that I want to run it in an SAP Program with an HTML Viewer. how I can get those Permissions ?By the way somehow I'm not able to create or change roles in the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.

I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets?
Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.

I recently updated the datatype of a sproc parameter from bit to tinyint. When I executed the sproc with the updated parameters the sproc appeared to succeed and returned "1 row(s) affected" in the console. However, the update triggered by the sproc did not actually work.
The table column was a bit which only allows 0 or 1 and the sproc was passing a value of 2 so the table was rejecting this value. However, the sproc did not return an error and appeared to return success. So is there a way to configure the database or sproc to return an error message when this type of error occurs?

I am trying to learn Reporting Services using the title "MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Step by Step" by Stacia Misner and Hitachi Consulting, published in 2006. I am experiencing problems with some of the exercises. I got as far as Chapter 4 when I followed directions to create a SQL statement to define a query string for a dataset. Pg 80:
select * from vProductProfitability
where year = 2003 and
MonthNumberOfYear = 1
The view vProductProfitability does not exist in the tutorial database that came with the book, rs2005sbsDW. The result of this query is the basis for the entire chapter on developing basic reports and I'm being denied a learning opportunity because the view does not exist. In short, I'm stuck.
I have tried to find somewhere at Microsoft to place this question and get some answers so I can continue thru the tutorial. To no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?
BTW, the solution that came in the CD is also wrong because the query noted above is also in the solution.

I am trying to get SQL Server 2000 to report errors of jobs we have running on our SQLServer.
We have installed Office2000 Outlook, but we keep getting the same error when we try to test it:
Error 18025: xp_test_mapi_profile: failed with mail error 0x80040111
The Exchange is on a different server, we have the Profile set up on the server, not the PC's, they just pull a copy of the Mailbox.
Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated.

Currently: We use currently devexpress reports and we have 2 languages(Arabic and English). the data in tables saved in two ways (Arabic and English). when the end user change the language of the web site the report data language changed when run it.
Example:

Hi All,
I'm new to SQL Server Reporting Services.
I managed to install Reporting services ok on a laptop running XP Pro. However I have run into all sorts of problems trying to install it on a Laptop running Vista Business with II7.0
When I tried browsing the reports folder (by using the url: localhost/reports), it could not resolve it.
I got a bt further by using the url: 127.0.0.1/reports. However having part displayed the page it gave me the following error: The underlying connection was closed. An unexpected error occurred on a send.
I googled this error and was told to check the Reporting Configuration tool.
When I did this I got the following error
There was an error while refreshing the reporting services configuration manager. The exception details are:
A connection to the computer cannot be established
Details:
Access denied
However I can connect to SQL Server via Management Studio

I've come across what appears to be a bug in SSRS. If after reading this post you feel otherwise, please reply to this thread...
I am trying to use SSRS to print to a Dymo LabelWriter 400 printer. This is a specialized label printer that prints one label to a page. The label paper I am using 2-1/2 inches by 1-1/2 inches. The Dymo printer driver prints portait layout as being the 2-1/2 inches width and 1-1/2 inches height. I assume that is because the paper rolls through the printer that way and labels normally are printed with more width than height.
Other software programs I use to print to this printer handles it properly (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office Document Imaging, Dymo Label software). However, SSRS seems to assume that portrait layout must mean paper height > width, as there is no explicity setting in SSRS to for page layout. The result is that no matter how I layout my SSRS report (e.g., switch width-height values, use tb-rl to rotate text), SSRS makes the final decision on whether it is portrait or lanscape. And in this case of the Dymo printer, it always sets it to the opposite of what it should be. Changing the printer settings (whether default or whether in print dialog) does not correct it.
Although assuming that portrait layout must mean paper height > width may seem to make logical sense, not every printer works that way; and other software programs (including Microsoft Office) do not make that assumption. It seems that SSRS and/or RDL spec should allow one to explicitly set portrait/landscape setting and not care about width-height ratio. It should be left to the printer and printer driver to decide.
Have other people come across this issue, either with Dymo printer or in other context? Were they able to find a workaround?

I'm scheduling a T-SQL job with SQL Agent. The job uses PRINT to write out various progress and status messages as it runs. I created an Operator, and set a Notification when the job fails -- will that send me the entire output of the job, or just the error message?
