Merge Replication Error: 'Failure To Connect To SQL Server With Provided Connection

Hi!
I´m trying to create a merge replication publication for a SQL Mobile
Application .
Everything works fine creating the publication and I'm able to do
the
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/aaaaaaa/sqlcesa30.dll, and it display's the
"sql server mobile server agent 3.0".
But when I run the application on the PDA and it´s doing the
replication it appears the following error:
'Failure to connect to SQL Server with provided connection
information . SQL Server does not exist , access is denied because
the
IIS user is not a valid user on the SQL Server , or the password is
incorrect' .
I have merge replication configured over VPN and the replication is failing to connect to the subscriber through Named pipes with the error Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server ......
Actually , I am having issues with Named pipes connection from publisher to subcriber. I have enabled the protocols and also enabled the remote connections using both tcp/ip and named pipes. I have created the client network alias using named pipes
Also, due to security reasons only few ports have been released on the subscriber. Please provide me some information on the following. 1) Does any port specifically be released for listening on named pipes? i am able to connect using tcpip with out any issues as 1433 has been released. 2) How to configure the replciation to use tcpip and not named pipes (guess by default it will use named pipes)?
Hi,I need some help. I am getting this error after I complete the asp.net register control and click on the continue button. It crashed when it tries to get it calls this Profile property((string)(this.GetPropertyValue("Address1")));When I look at the stack, it is coming from my ProfileWrapper class which adds user address, city, etc.. from a class which inherits fromSystem.Web.Profile.ProfileBase. I'm getting the error message below when trying to synchronise a sql compact database to a sql server 2005 db. Can anyone suggest a reason for this?
RDA works fine, permissions look ok. I've run process monitor and can see the IN/OUT files being created, no ACCESS DENIED messages etc. help!

Hi I am trying to complete sql server compact edition book online walkthrough "Creating a Mobile Application with SQL Server Compact Edition". I am successful to complete it as guided using all default settings (e.g. anonymous access, windows authenticaion etc.) and the sample run on both emulator and my pocket pc svc5000. I have following configuration..

But the problem is that in production environment i will not be able to connect to the sql server using named instance (e.g machine_nameinstance_name). i have to use ip address in that situation. so i tried to modify the sample to use ip address in place of named instance and then the problem starts.. I have configued my sql server to allow remote connections using tcp/ip and named pipes using sql surface area config tool.
When using named instance i used following code to Synchronize with sqlserver 2005 with and it worked perfectly :

Not: I try to run SQL Server 2005 but I can not, even I logged on to my computer with an administrator rights. On the other hand I can start and stop the SQL Server Express easily.

The only thing in there is "SQL Server Error and Usage Reporting"... The other thing I am greatly concerned with is this: All is want is for my webpages to be able to access my database for user authentication. Hello, I only need to know if I need to have a bidirectionnal connection between the subscriber and the publisher for merge replication or if the connection ca be openned only from the publisher to the subscriber if i use the push subscription option.
I get the following error and have been trying to figure out why I keep getting it. Initially, I had placed my project under wwwroot folder and ran it under IIS and it gave this error. Then I moved it to my local C drive and same thing. I am sharing this project with two other co-workers and all our config files and code files are same...they don't get this error but I do. I checked that SQL Server Client Network Utility has TCP/IP and the 'Named Pipes' enabled. I thought maybe I have setting in the Visual Studio 2005 that I'm not aware of that's causing this problem...it can't be the server since my co-workers aren't having this error and can't be anything in the code since all of us are sharing this project through vss. I dont' think using different version of .net framework can create this error. I changed the version from 2.0 to use 1.1x and it gave same error... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have setup merge replication which successfully synchronizes with a group of desktop users using SQL Compact Edition.
However now I have setup Article Filters and when I attempt to regenerate the snapshot I get the following error:
Invalid column name 'rowguid'.
Failed to generate merge replication stored procedures for article 'AssignedCriteria'.
When I look at publication properties at the Articles page.. All my tables have the rowguid uniqueidentifier successfully added to tables and selected as a compulsory published column, apart from the table above "AssignedCriteria".. Even when I attempt to select this column in the article properties page and press ok, when I come back it is deselected again. ( The Rowguid column is however physically added to the table)
I have scripted the publication SQL and then totally reinstalled from scratch, including the database but for some reason it doesn't like this table. I remove the article filters, but still this "rowguid" is never "selected" in article properties.
We are using Uniqueidentifiers in other columns as well for historical reasons, but this doesn't appear to be a problem in other tables..

I have been working with a client on a legacy application migration to SSIS and I found SSIS to be very helpful, as this is my first project using integration services I found myself in a situation where multiple solutions can work but I cannot assess the risk of using one or the other and the effort required for the implementation.
The situation is as following, we cannot touch the input files that come from the other legacy systems so I need to get information that is packaged following the next multipart schema:

Etc... Needless to say that they can come in whatever order and they need different processing depending on the format. I have been tempted to use the techniq shown in "Handling Different Row Types In The Same File" from http://www.sqlis.com/default.aspx?54.
However, there are multiple issues that I have to resolve to do that: First is how to feed the pipeline with the Data in format N and then reparse them in an easy way cause the data that comes from the other system is very wide (aprox 120 columns), so using a parsing script is by no means a viable solution (I have multiple formats to handle). So I do not see a way to treat the data without using a Custom Connection Manager. Here comes my first question: Is there anyway someone can use the already provided managers to handle an scenario like this one?
Next comes the separation, which one is the wisest thing to do: Write again that to disk in as easier format or pass along that information to the next task in memory? The volume of data is in the order of hundreds of megabytes (100 to 200), maybe half a Gigabyte in the extreme cases. How about uploading that to SQL Server and work from there?
BTW, the production servers will have 6 to 8 Gb of memory and 4 to 8 processors (more or less).

This Job is executed every hourly and an error is fired atleast once a day notifying failure of this process. Please help me in resolving this issue.

I have an ASP page I'm testing and this is what I'm trying to do with it. I simply need it to read a SQL table on my server and display data from that table on screen. Thats it. But no matter how many times I tweak my code I keep getting 404 web page not found. Here is the entire pages code:

In Merge Replication, I am not able to replicate one table having more than 5 GB data to the subscriber. If I have filter on the table I am able to do. I couldn't understand the problem? Any one having any idea on the same?

I have 1.7GB free space in C drive. Is it a space problem in C drive? Actually my data base is storing in E drive. It has 30GB free space. But Sql Server installed in D drive it has 2 GB free space.
We have an HTTPS merge publication which has been working fine, but all of a sudden the subscription for a subscriber is failing with the following message at the publisher:

Overview. I am converting over from MSDE to SQL Express. My front end program is unable to connect to the database. To troubleshoot, from the remote computer I tried connecting with the management program and I get the Error 26 unable to connect.
(The connection string worked previously (yesterday) when using MSDE as the server. When I installed SQL Express I named it the same instance as the server name under MSDE. I also use server authtication on both with same user name and password. As stated below I cannot connect using the managment console.)
Here is what I have done: I made sure that the SQL Server configuration has been changed to allow network connections (both TCP and named pipes). I have disable windows firewall on both machines. I confirmed that I can connect from the remote machined to the server by network browsing. Both machines are running XP Proff. There is no other security software running on either machine.
More Info. when attempting to log on I am using the server authntication, I use "sa" as the user id plus my password.
Goal. The front end of database program connects to the server remotely using a program called Hamachi over the internet. This works without a problem on MSDE. But for now I am simply try to connect using the managment program which lets you browse for other serves. When I do this it shows the remote computer, but not the name of the computer but not the SQL server which I type in like the following: "INTELsql1"
What I have not Done: I have not changed any permissions or added any users to the server, since this does not seem necessary. As stated the user of remote machine can connect to the server and change files.

Dear Friends, I am very new to replication, For learning purpose I am trying to setup merge replication. The given setup I am using.
1. Windows 2000 Server + SP4 (Publisher for SQL 2000) 2. Windows 2003 Server + SP1 (Subscriber For SQL 2000)
I am getting a replication error, I have taken this errors details from merge agent on publisher server.
Find enclosed replication error details in the microsoft document file format (.doc). The document is consist of three SQL Server snapshot rather three diffrent errors.
In the pictures you can find the red & white color cross (wrong sign) on replication monitor tab, I don't know why it is appearing. :confused:

I have a merge replication publication that has been running for months. This week the Snapshot started failing, reporting that an article was not included in the publication. I checked and found 3 articles that mysteriously no longer show up as being in the publication. When I attempt to add them it reports that it can't add them because there is already an article by that name in the publication. Apparently some table has lost its rows for these articles while another table(s) still has its rows.
Has anyone had this problem? Is there a solution short of dropping the publication and starting over - a solution that would literally take weeks for us?
I have setup merge replication between SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server Express. The setup uses web synchronization. (And the setup uses dynamic filter HOST_NAME)
On some of the client machines, replication fails with the following error (when initializing the subscription):

I enabled verbose logging for the snapshot agent for the subscriber, but there was no error there. It is obvious from the log info above that the error occurs only after downloading the snapshot to the client and during applying it to the subscriber by the merge agent.
After I got this error, I tried running the subscriber program again and it successfully replicated on the third attempt. But this behavior is not consistent and it fails for most of the time on some of the machines
I'm looping through a set of IP's (sql servers), i'm changing the property ServerName for OLE DB connection dynamically.
So, I'm having a DataFlow Task inside a For each Task.
Data Flow task has OLE DB Source & OLE DB Destination. I've set ServerName of OLE DB Source to a variable which gets updated by For Each Loop.
Till now everything is working fine. However, if a Server (IP) is down it causes OLEDB Source to give an error. So in my case, if one server is down, it gives error and does not proceed further. I want it to continue with other servers.
When trying to start a Merge Replication agent I get the following Error message:
The process could not enumerate the changes at the subscriber. 2812
The snapshot agent works fine as far as I can see.
The replication is set up between a Win2000 / SQL7 / SP 4 and a Win2003 / SQL2000 / SP 3a machine. Sqlserveragent on both machines is run as a system account.
In trying to activate a merge replication between a Win2000/SQL7 distributor/publisher and a Win2003/SQL2000 subscriber I keep getting the following error:
Process could not enumerate changes at the subscriber (error 2812)
Merge publication works fine between the distributor and another subscriber (NT4/SQL7).
When i look at the details of the merge agent history i can see the process stopped with :

I read article 308743 on microsoft/technet, and there they advise to install SP3a for SQL2000 on the subscriber. Ive done that but the error persists.
SQLServerAgent on the subscriber starts up with a local administrator account, the (physical) server itself is not a member of the local network; (outside the DMZ). The server is declared in the Client Network Utility of the distributor/publisher and is therefore known as a potential subscriber. In fact, the snapshot agent works perfectly (or so it seems).
