Create report with SharePoint list. Columns are displaying on the report I used out of the group SUM function and it is group by report. one group total is showing correct total and other groups are showing wrong total and showing too much big value even there is whole column is empty.where value is not in column I am using "-" with IIF function. these columns are calculating by using date difference function between two date columns. these values coming with minus value . so ABS function is also using.
Columns calculation expression:
=IIF(ISNOTHING(Fields!DateCAPackage.Value)
OR (ISNOTHING(Fields!Date_CA_Application.Value)) ,
"-" , CINT(Abs(DateDiff("d",Fields!Date_CA_Application.Value,Fields!DateCAPackage.Value))))
Total calculation expression:
=Sum(ABS(DateDiff(
"d",Fields!Date_CA_Application.Value,Fields!DateCAPackage.Value)))
In my SSRS report i have a date parameter and i want to set to it a default value with a complicated logic. I arrived at this strange behaviour:
Today is May 6th, wednesday. If i use the following expression:
DateAdd("d",Weekday(Today(),DayOfWeek.Sunday),Today())
for the default time picker I get May 9th. If I use exactly the same expression in a textbox in the same report
DateAdd("d",Weekday(Today(),DayOfWeek.Sunday),Today()).ToLongDateString()
I get May 10th! The only thing that changes is the toString. Why are the two values different? I tried with different expressions and the difference arises when i start using Weekday(Today(), somevalue).
The result of Weekday should be independent from regional settings as I am forcing Sunday to be the first day of the week, right?
In my report i have CNAME parameter , which allows null value. I checked Allow null value check box in report parameter properties.
when i preview the report , it displays checked NULL check box beside CNAME parameter . I want to give some meaningful name(i.e.ALLCustomers) to this checkbox instead of NULL.
Is it possible through SSRS designer?
I have SQL Server 2012 SSIS. I have Excel source and OLE DB Destination.I have problem with importing CustomerSales column.CustomerSales values like 1000.00,2000.10,3000.30,NotAvailable.So I have decimal values and nvarchar mixed in on Excel column. This is requirement for solution.However SSIS reads only numeric values correctly and nvarchar values are set as Null. Why?
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Import_CustomerSales](
[CustomerId] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[CustomeName] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
[CustomerSales] [nvarchar](50) NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]

Hi,
I have a CLR function that throws an error if one of the parameters is NULL. Am I using the IsNullable tag correctly or am I supposed to do this another way? The function simply formats decimal values using .NET culture information and returns a string. Thanks very much for any help. -- Erik
[Microsoft.SqlServer.Server.SqlFunction(IsDeterministic=true, DataAccess=DataAccessKind.None)]
[return: SqlFacet(MaxSize = 30, IsNullable=true)]
public static string FormatGeneralDecimal([SqlFacet(Precision = 28, Scale = 8, IsNullable = true)] SqlDecimal sqlDc,
[SqlFacet(MaxSize = 10)] string cultureName)
{
string result = null;
if (!sqlDc.IsNull)
{
CultureInfo ci = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture(cultureName);
result = sqlDc.Value.ToString("G", ci);
}
return result;
}
It works great unless I call it with a NULL value for sqlDc, in which case I get this:
select [dbo].[FormatGeneralDecimal](NULL, 'de-DE')
Msg 6522, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user-defined routine or aggregate "FormatGeneralDecimal":

I'm running the following test query on a single table:
SELECT sph.datestamp, sph.stocksymbol, sph.closing, DATENAME(dw, sph.datestamp),
CASE DATENAME(dw, sph.datestamp)
WHEN 'Monday' then 'Monday'
ELSE (SELECT CAST(sph2.datestamp AS nvarchar) FROM BI_Test.dbo.StockDB AS sph2 WHERE sph2.DateStamp = DATEADD(d, -1, sph.datestamp) AND sph2.StockSymbol = 'NYA')
END AS TestCase,
[Code] ....
And here's an example of the output I'm getting:
Why the exact same subquery in the THEN of the second CASE statement is returning NULL when the first one completes as expected?
I have a situation in SSRS to get the common values between the two columns where the values are sorted comma separated as below.Ex:
ColumnA : abc,cde,efg
ColumnB : cde,xyz,abc
the result in
ColumnC : cde,abc
similarly Column A and B will have n number records. I need to right an expression or the Code function to get the required result in ColumnC. I am using SharePoint Lists as Datasource. Cannot write SQL query to achieve this requirement.
I am SSRS user, We have a .net UI from where we want to pass multi select values, but these values are comma separated in the database. how can I write a sql query such that when I select multi values on my UI, the comma separated values are take care of.

Table RDTEST may have one or multiple values for RD for each PID. So the function GIVERD will return one or multiple values of RD for each value of PID passed to it.
When I run the following query, I get the required result except the rows for CID 500 for which PID is NULL in table T1. I want the rows for CID 500 as well with PID values as NULL.

How to Add Reporting Services in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an SSIS package that imports data from an Excel file, replaces any value in Excel that reads "NULL" to "", then writes the data to a couple of databases.
What I have discovered today, is I have two columns of dates, an admit date and discharge date column, and what I need to do is anywhere I have a null value in the discharge date column, I have to replace it with the value in the admit date column.
I have searched around online and tried a few things using the Replace funtion in Derived columns but no dice so far.
Hi,I am evaluating Microsoft Reporting Services against Business Objectsas a reporting tool against SQL Server. I am primarily a BOBJdeveloper and am finding RS not easy to use. Can anyone provide anyfeedback to the overall comparison between these 2 products as I amfinding RS frustrating and am wondering if it is just a matter ofre-adjusting and spending more time on it or if anyone else is findingRS more trickey to use than BOBJ as wellI would be extremely grateful for any feedback.Many thanks in advanceLA

Hi,
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a pivot transform that pivots a batch type. After the pivot, each batch type has its own row with null values for the other batch types that were pivoted. I want to group two fields and max() the remaining batch types so that the multiple rows are displayed on one row. I tried using the aggregate transform, but since the batch type field is a string, the max() function fails in the package. Is there another transform or can I use the aggragate transform another way so that the max() will work on a string?

In ssrs, I want to display a column "Actual Value", which is a currency field.
If the field is null, I want to display a "0.00" value, otherwise I want to display the actual value with 2 decimals as well
Not sure how to do this. Below is what I have so far....
=IIf(IsNothing(Fields!Actual_Value.Value),0,Fields!Actual_Value.Value)
I have some data from SQL server which contains NULL values for certain fields. I have to create a chart with sum of a field. There is no category and series groups, we are just showing the total sum of a field in chart. Since I have NULL in my source data, nothing is displayed in the chart. I cannot exclude this record from dataset as I have to use this record for other charts. I have to do some filtering in the chart area itself. I have given IsNothing() in the filter of chart properties. It does not work for me. Even I tried to give IsNothing() in the exp of Sum() .

We have SharePoint list which has, say, two columns. Column A and Column B.
Column A can have three values - red, blue & green.
Column B can have four values - pen, marker, pencil & highlighter.
A typical view of list can be:
Column A - Column B
red - pen
red - pencil
red - highlighter
blue - marker
blue - pencil
green - pen
green - highlighter
red - pen
blue - pencil
blue - highlighter
blue - pencil
We are looking to create a report from SharePoint List using SSRS which has following view:
red blue green
pen 2 0 1
marker 0 1 0
pencil 1 3 0
highlighter 1 1 1
We tried Sum but not able to display in single row.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a report with datetime parameter which is required to be optional (there should be an option not to select this parameter which would cause in not narrowing result of this report by this parameter).
I used datetime parameter
@daTo (to have the calendar control for selecting date) and check on "Allow Null" value. Here is default Value.
I've also tried to set DefaultValue expression was "=Nothing".
IN my query of data set, here is the part I use the parameter @daTo
... Where (@daTo IS NULL OR TRUNC(@daTo) >= TRUNC(pe.start_time) ....
But when I run the report, I got below error:
ORA-00932: inconsistent datatypes: expected DATE got NUMBER
I think it @daTo value actually not null so it try to TRunc the value
I don't know how to set null value default in my report.
Hello,
I have a report. I need to make a drop-down parameter optional. I've setup the parameter to use a dataset as its source, and I need to allow the value to be null. I've selected allow nulls check box, and I've even tried setting the default value to System.DBNull.Value. But, when the entry is not selected (blank), no data ever comes back. If the data is blank or null, my procedure works (I've tested it). How do I send a null value to the database through reporting services report? I was hoping to avoid creating a special query just for that purpose.
Thanks.
Hi all
How to pass Null parameter in Reporting Services.
Regards
I'm trying to have a default or null value in the dropdown list of the parameters on SSRS report. The dataset is bound with the Dynamics-AX 2009 AOT query. In the screen shot below you can see that I need a show All option in the dropdown list.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to import some XLS files that I receive from some suppliers. The problem is that every time they send some columns with text values but formatted as number. When I read those columns with SSIS Excel Source, they come all with null values.
I don't want to change the columns data types every time, so I would like to know if there's a way to bypass the column types that are already there.
I tried to use both the Jet driver and the Office 12 driver. I've already used the IMEX=1 on ExtendedProperties too with no success. Is there a way to force reading the columns as text, even if they have data types assigned to them?
I have the problem of aggregating semi-additive measures correct in higher levels in a matrix control of reporting services. I use the "Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services" data provider. I have a calculated measure saved in the AS2005 cube which looks like:
[Measure].[Net Sales (kg)] = iif( [Measures].[Sales Volume KG] = 0, 0, [Measures].[Net Sales (RLG)] / [Measures].[Sales Volume KG] )
In the matrix, I have a 4 level Product Dimension on the rows (4 groups matrix1_level1 ..... matrix1_level4) and the visibility of the groups is toggled by each upper level, so I can drill in the product dimension. I place this measure in the data part of the matrix with (sum(Fields!Net_Sales__kg_.Value)). On the leave level all values ar correct. But on each other level, I see the sum of the sublevels.
After a lot of pain researching, I found that I have to use the "aggregate" function instead of the "sum" function, because aggregate uses the aggregating which comes from the data provider and the "Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services" data provider is able to do that. Thats all of documentation I found. I have played around with this function, but always when I use it, I get no values on all levels. I tried the "scope" parameter of the aggregat function, nothing changed.
I tried aggreagate(Fields!Net_Sales__kg_.Value, "matrix1_level1"), aggreagate(Fields!Net_Sales__kg_.Value, "SalesCube") (SalesCub is the name of my Dataset in Reporting Services I use), aggreagate(Fields!Net_Sales__kg_.Value, "matrix1") and last but not least aggregate(Fields!Net_Sales__kg_.Value), all is the same, no values.
It seems to me, that the aggragate function returns "Nothing", because than, according to the Online Help, no values will be shown. But according to some blogs and forum entries, the "Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (AdomdClient)" Data provider should deal with aggregate. Have I do some special entries in the "Advanced..." Settings of the data provider??
Can someone tell me, what I'm doing wrong, and did someone know a good documentation (with examples) for the aggregate function on the internet. The Help-file doc is very, very poor!!!
Thanks
Hans
I have the problem.
I have many Cognos Reports to be converted in Reporting Services.
Out of which there are several Ranking Reports.
Cognos has inbuilt Rank Function while SSRS does not have.
I dont want to do grouping on Database level, rather trying to find a solution in RS.
But unfortunately I couldnt find any solution.
I sorted the group according to requirement, now only thing left is showing the rank number and limiting top 60 rows only.
I tried filters to show TopN, but always gives and error and also tried custom code to show the row number for that group but didn't work.
Anyone has any idea how to overcome this limitation of Reporting Services.
One more interesting is when I try to create a field in dataset having IIF and / within.. RS terminates, all unsaved work gone.
Sometimes I think Microsoft cannot have a product which is 100% perfact and working.
