Hi,
I downloaeded "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Datamining Viewer Controls" feature pack, and tried to run the dataminingviewerclient.exe.
When i view my local time series data mining model, It works well for single series model, but when i load a Microsoft time series model containing multiple data series, an unhandled exception occurs.

I am having trouble installing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 (KB 921896). When I go to Microsoft Update Home, it is the only update listed as available for my computer and I am trying to download and install it, but every time I do it fails with the error message:
€œSome updates were not installed

This has been going on since the beginning of December, and I have a strange feeling that there are updates that I am not getting because this one keeps failing. I have other Windows XP machines with SQL Server 2005 and they have consistently been getting updates fine. This seems to be the only one. (please note that I have not been keeping track of the KB numbers of every update so it is possible that my other machines have not encountered this specific update.) I have also tried killing all of the services associated with SQL thinking that it couldn't update the program while running, but that did not solve the problem.
Any suggestions on why this won't install? Thank you in advance.
Windows Update Web Page indicates I have BOTH a SUCCESS and FAILURE for SQL Server 2005 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 2 (KB 921896) ?Is it possible for my machine to have TWO DIFFERENT MS SQL Server Express installations? Is the problem real or some small ghost issue? I do have a trial CD from Microsoft .. Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite.

I bought the book €œData Mining with SQL Server 2005€?, but I can€™t find the solution to a problem I have.
I want to retrieve from C# the logistic regression Attribute Value (AV) Scores for the Logistic Regression Algorithm. I can see the Scores from the Microsoft Logistic Regression Viewer (the same of Neural Network Viewer), but I cannot retrieve them via DMX, OLEDB or similar.
Otherwise, is there a formula that I can use to compute that score from the coefficient, support, or probability values of the Attribute Value pair (I can read this values from DMX)? I can access to them via DMX:

When updating automaticallly, this update always fail, I have put the configuration manager /server browser : the only one that was disabled, on manual (I have not the automatic option for this one) but nothing works, what can I do ? I am running a SQL Server 2005. I created the mining models from the tutorials. I can connect with the DataminingViewerClient directly on the SQL Server(i.e. to localhost), but when i try to connect to the Server from my other computer it is not working i always get connection faild and i should check that the server is running. I can connect to the Server with other programms but the viewer is not working. Any ideas what that could be?
I am doing drillthrough from ReportA to ReportB via the Date field on ReportA. In Report Manager, all is well. However, when run through a custom app using asp.net and the report viewer control, the behavior was erratic. sometimes it would work. sometimes it would merely bring up the ReportA again and i would have to click Date again and then it would work.
a coworker recommended the Report Viewer fix http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933137. Since the redistributable was not present in Add/Remove programs on my test box, i installed the full version. I then started up the .net app in debug and ran ReportA and drilled through to ReportB several times and could not make it fail. I was happy.
Since the redistributable was not present on the production box, i installed the full install there as well. However, the erratic report viewer behavior continued.
I decided to try runnign ReportB directly instead of via the drill through from ReportA. ReportB had always run perfectly on its own. When i try to use the graphical date selector control, the results are different depending on the machine I use.
1. If i am using my test box, and i run ReportB directly via the app in debug mode, i get a runtime error indicating Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object required. It then points to Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd at the GetObjectPosition(obj) function.
2. If i am using my test box and go out to the live production website, i get the same runtime error.
3. If i am using another machine and go out to the live production website, the data selector control merely seems to refresh the report. This is the same behavior i get when using the production server and going out to the live website.
The redistributable has been uninstalled from both the test box and the production box. This did not change the behavior described above.
All of the Microsoft.ReportViewer items in C:Windowsassembly indicate version 8.0.0.0.
Any help would be grand. Also, please let me know if I should cross post this in the .Net forums.
We have a product that uses, and will bootstrap, several of the feature pack components when it is installed (xmo, MSOLAP9, etc). However, if our product is installed on a machine that has SQL Server 2005 already installed, all of the feature pack components will have been installed as part of the server install, so we don't want to bootstrap them in that case. Is there a good way to detect this case? Clearly, simply checking that the feature pack MSI hasn't been installed isn't good enough, since SQL Server has its own MSIs that are different from the FP MSIs.
after installing the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 DTS Designer Com feature pack and then restarting my management studio, I still cannot see or edit my dts packages. I also tried editing them in the integration services consule but no luck there. I see them under the msdb and have no option to edit them.

I wanted to find out more about Service Pack 5. I have heard that the purpose of this service pack is to make SQL Server 6.5 Y2K compliant.

I have a complex scenario , so first I want to ask out the feasibility of it . i have made some Data Mining Model Examples in Excel 2007 (not temporarily!). They where there after leaving an re-opening Excel. I have used them several times. Then I want to look, if I can see them also via SQL Server Managment Studio in the Analysis Services. There where nothing in the DMAddInDB in Analysis Services.
And after this, in Excel my DataMining Models have disappeared and all Models i have made since this disappeared also.
Perhaps I have destroyed the database. But will this happen every time? Can I share Data Mining Models I have made with Excel with Projects in SQL Server Analysis Services?
I am using SQL 2000 running a couple of large (up to 70GB) databases. I am currently backing up to disk, which is working fine. I now want to backup the databases using the Snapshot feature of my storage array. To do this however, I first need to put my databases (3 of them) into 'backup mode', so as to stop transactions being written to the database, and provide a consistent database to backup. Has anyone had any experience with this feature? Microsoft provide a sample C++ program called snaphot.cpp that puts a single database into 'backup mode'. I am not particularly clued up on C++. Can multiple databases be put into this mode simultaneously? Is this particularly difficult to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello all, I am having problems running a stored proc from an aspx.cs file. Basically I want to extract data from webForm controls and create a new record in a DB table. I have watched the "Getting Started" videos on thi site, and the only difference between my code and the code of the demonstrator is the connection string. This is what I have to do.
I insert into a table XML message. the messages are pushed automatically by an application I have no ""control" on and I get several messages "at the same time".
Everytime the message is inserted into the database I need to trasform the XML data into the correspondent relational value and I know already that in some cases it could take a while (1 second can be considered a while..) My worry is that in the moment I process one message I loose the other one inserted after ,,,

Hi, I understand from previous threads that installing SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 on the desktop client can speed up the response rate of the Visual Studio 2005 Business Intelligence Tools.
However after logging on as an administrator and installing Service Pack 2, Service Pack 2 returned no errors. However after launching Visual Studio and clicking on the about dialog box the version reported was still €œRTM.050727-4200€? where I was expecting to see €œSP.050727-7600€?.
I understood that I applied the same service pack to my copy of SQL Server on my laptop and the upgrade worked successfully.
Hi, I am porting a massive VB6 project to ASP.net 2005. Most of the code is fine, however because the original developers used lots of data controls and my own time restrictions I thought to replicate the functionality by using Sqldatasource controls instead. These data controls are bound to DBtruegrids. The project has has lots of code like... AdodcOrders.Recordset.RecordCount > 0 or If AdodcOrders.Recordset.EOF or AdodcOrders.Recordset.MoveNext() or AdodcDetail.Recordset!FieldName The problem is the sqldatasource control doesn't have a recordset/dataset property which I can access and manipulate, or does it? What should I do to get round these? The project has thousands of lines like this in so its not feasible to rewrite it (although if I could I would!). I participate in the SQL Server Integration Services and Reporting Services forums and I have seen many outstanding issues users would like to see fixed. Is there a SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 being developed and if so when would it become available?
