Mixed Chart Types In SSRS

Hi,
I am trying to create a graph that consists of a bar chart and line graph - both to appear on the same graph.
They will show different information, but will essentially come from the same dataset.
So far I have not been able to achieve this and it would seem that you cannot mix chart types. This is very disappointing given the plaudits associated with this product.
Can anyone restore my faith in this product by telling me that the above is possible and, if so, how do I go about it.

Hi,
I'm seeing confusing results coming back from a query and I want to make sure my joins are working as expected.
I have 3 tables, tbl_family, tbl_familyPhone, and tbl_phone. tbl_FamilyPhone is a linking table between families and phones that specifies if it's the primary number.
tbl_Family tbl_FamilyPhone tbl_Phone
--------------- ------------------------- ----------------
pk_FamilyID pk_FamilyPhoneID pk_phoneID
fName fk_FamilyID fk_TypeID
lName fk_PhoneID ...
... ...
So a family has many familyPhones and a phone has many family phones. I'm trying to get all the families and their home phone only, if they have one. I don't want families to duplicate and I don't want any left out. Here's what I've got

My thinking is the inner join between tbl_Phone and tbl_FamilyPhone will cause any FamilyPhone record without a phone record to be left out (fk_phonetypeid is the id of a home phone). Though some FamilyPhone records may be left out, I will not lose any families because it is left outer joined to familyphone. Is this right? Because if I just do select count(*) from families I get 4517 records, but when running the query above with the joins, I get 4383 records.

I am importing the Source: Excel 2007 (xlsx) to Destination:SQL Server DB Table..
One field had 739 records in that First 700 had General (i.e., Numeric ) last 39 had General(Alpha Numeric)

Hi,
I have seen on the internet that there are more chart types availlable then used by reporting services.
I have seen some pretty charts in exel 2007.
Are there possibilities to use such charts in RS.
I have also seen that you can purchase charts from special dev houses (like dundas).
So i think i must be able to create my own library with charts.
Any idea how i can do this ?

Can I change the chart type with the value supplied in the Report Parameters ? Other than chart types everything else have expression field attached to them.

Hi,
I have created an area graph.My requirement is the following:-
When the user moves his mouse over the graph on different points, the values corresponding to that points should be shown as a tool tip or as a textbox value.
Any idea to capture the values in the graph(Category,Series and Data values) and display them in a textbox or tool tip in a SSRS chart?

I want to do 2 things with the SSRS line chart.
1. Display the data with a "." (dot) w/o the actual value on the graph
2. Diplay the (x, y coodinates) when the user mouses over the point.

I'm a relative newcomer to Power View. I've been playing with charts and have been struggling to combine both line and bar on the same chart. It would appear this functionality is not available. Considering this is basic functionality when it comes to charting, how to achieve this....

Hi,
we have a requirement that, when we click on the multiple series bars in a SSRS chart, it should drill through that chart and the detail report should filter based on these x axis and y axis of the bars selected.
As far as my knowledge, we can drill through the chart by selecting single series bar at a time in SSRS. Is there any way to acheive this multiple drill through of a chart.

I have the integration set up between Sharepoint and SSRS, but I follow the Add-in readme below. I do not see the Reporting Services select content types section. I can manually create each content type(Report, Builder, Datasource, etc..) but the images for then when I click Add in the list there are no images associated to the different content types.
Set Permissions and Add Reporting Services Content Types
You must assign user and group accounts to SharePoint groups or permission levels to grant site access to those users. Users who can access a site can also perform reporting tasks. For example, users with view permissions to access a site can also view reports on that site.
To complete the integration steps, you must ensure that all users who access and manage report server content on a SharePoint Web application have the appropriate permissions. You might also want to add Reporting Services content types so that users who have permission to use Report Builder can start it from the New menu. To add content types:
Open the library for which you want to add Reporting Services content types.
On the Settings menu, click Document Library Settings.
Under Content Types, click Add from existing site content types. If Content Types is not available, locate the General Settings section and click Advanced settings to allow content type management.
In the Content Types section, select Yes to allow multiple content types.
In the Select Content Types section, in Select Site content types from list, click the arrow to select Reporting Services.
In the Available Site Content Types list, click Report Builder Report, and then click Add to move the selected content type to the Content types to add list.
To add Report Model and Report Data Source content types, repeat steps 5 and 6.
When you finish selecting all the content types that you want to add, click OK.

I have a Pie Chart report that works well until Users discovered that when values are 0% or less across the chart, the Legend returns NaN. How do I format the Legend to return 0% instead of the NaN that Users do not want to see. Below is my express for the Legend Property="#AXISLABEL" & " - " & "#PERCENT{P0}".

Hi,
I am having a report which contains a line chart. I have tried different alternatives, but i could not get it solved.
For example:
Line Chart with
x-axis : month(1,2,....,12)
y-axis : sales amount.
series group : city (DimGeography.City) filtered by (DimGeography.StateProvinceName = "London")
I am getting different lines for different cities of London. That's working fine. But the requirement is i need to display one more line in the same line chart depicting/showing the sales for the "London" state as well.
Please help me if anyone can.

Does anyone know if there is a way to dynamically set the chart type (i.e. pie, line, column, etc.) for your report in SSRS? I want the customer to be able to chose which type of chart they'd like to see.
I've looked all over the Internet and can't find anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

I guess I should clarify a little. I am using an ASP.NET 2.0 page written in C# and using a ReportViewer control.
More Clarification:
The ReportViewer displays an rdlc.

I need to manage the height of an horizontal range bar chart inside a SSRS 2012 report.
In my report, I've a filter to read a particular data set. So, I could select five data rows or ten data rows or twenty data rows and so on. I'd like to maintain fixed the height of the horizontal bars while the number of data rows changes.

In my Chart I have to keep the angel of the category field fix to 90 degree. When I do this the format of the Label does not look quite right.
I expect Below : I can work Out dd and mm positions ..what I am concerned about the date direction because of which its not quite readable.
I have tried many format in label format but it is not giving expected result.

When I place an image WITHIN a chart, it appears in the correct location in DESIGN mode, however, when I preview it, my chart renders...and then the image renders NEXT TO the chart. I can't get the image to display WITHIN the chart area.

For my SSRS 2012 report I've created a dataset to extract the TOP 20 amounts.
I've create a stacked column chart to put these amounts as a values.
But in the chart I can see only ten amounts and not all 20 ones.
20 is a fixed number.
How can I adjust the number of columns in the chart in order to show all 20 amounts?

I have this issues with empty points in a Line Chart. How to make it work with dynamic values in the series and some dates in the category, how to join the "data" values for a "series"where there are no category value. So far I cannot see any fix that would make it work by joining the data points with the "average" data on a empty point (no category value) and with the same color on the line.

I have created an SSRS report containing a bar chart. The Y-axis contains some application names which are displayed based on a certain criteria. Hence sometimes there are only 2 values in y-axis while sometimes it may range upto 20 items. I have tried a lot but have been unsuccessful in getting a dynamic y-axis which changes with the number of items present.

In a bar chart, we are using the LargeCheckerBoard as the pattern style in series properties > fill. It is showing correctly on the browser but if we export to PDF, this style(checks) are getting small and different from what shown on the browser.

What is the best optimised options to display the date labels with bi-weekly intervals starting date Date from one month to three months future from the current date?
As per above requirements, I have built the below line graph query and graph, currently it only displays the date labels as per data but I need to display date labels with bi-weekly intervals starting date from one month to three months future from the current date. Also another issue found, if there are few more date labels then does not show all labels on horizontal axis.

We developed some of the chart reports. It is working fine when we preview the reports in the solution itself. I have a report in which I have assigned custom colors with a function to one of my stacked column charts. When I run it in the report builder, the colors are correctly placed, but as soon as I upload the report to the server and view the report from there, the colors get swapped. I have these custom colors applied to other stacked column charts in the report and they work perfectly fine. The only difference between this chart and my other charts is that it contains two category groups.
EDIT: Alright, I have gotten it to display the correct colors by using a function with the colors I wanted in reverse. I have two values, "Upcoming" which is displayed in red, and "Outstanding" which is displayed in blue. If the chart has only upcoming values, it will display in blue rather than red, whereas if I have upcoming and outstanding values, they will display in their correct colors. why this is occurring?
