I actually found the problem but could not find the code to it.
I have reporting month which starts every 28th of the month and end 27th of next month. but when i try to get the running balance which is MTD() for it , it still takes the calander month in consideration. and when i specify the report hirerarchy , i get a #value error message throught.
please advise

I have a QA Deployment Date field that is being returned in a custom report I created. I also found a sample date range parameter:
What I want to accomplish:
I want to select a From and To Date and filter the report to only display the rows that have the QA Deployment Date within the selected range.
For example.. I want to select From Date (8/1/2105) and To Date (8/31/2015) and I only want to return only the results that have a QA Deployment date between that selected range.

I have 2 dates as input. The main date and reference date (Last date of previous year) of the main date. At the moment I manually insert the values for main date and reference date, but I only one to select the main date and automatically insert in the first column of the matrix report the reference date.
I have three types of specific reports that i have to create with the input parameters (range) either
1: By date (rdl 1)
2.By Month (rdl 2)
3.By Year (rdl 3)
Is it possible ( or how do I ) to create just one report template ( one rdl) with the three sets of parameters ( hiding/invisible which ever two sets base on user selection) and the output of the report will display the desired type( either by year, month or date).
I ask this because its possible to create a drill down report from year down to date etc in report designer (vs 2005). Not sure if I can create one instead of three rdls and with the 'logic' built within that template.
I have a date filter, and I default it to first day this month and last day this month under relative date, when I run it it givis me error:

The report parameters for From and To contain a first item of 'All' which I don't want. How can I remove this please?

I am trying to add a date to the emailed excel file. Is there someway to do this? I have schedules a daily file, eg file ReportDocument.xls. Is there someway to make it ReportDocument10/06/2006, ReportDocument10/07/2006, ReportDocument10/07/2006 etc? I've been looking around and I can't find an answer to this.
We are pulling data from a sharepoint list and we have created a report using business development studio in sql 2005 and have created a table with data that we want to display. We are trying to filter this data so that we can get the report to show entries for the day or for a week, but im not sure how to achieve this? Thanks in advance.

previous one i always missed records on 10/31/2006...is there any solution or i always add one day to end date and then get values??
I created a SSAS cube with the dimension "date" (including dates from 2006 to 2007) and "service numbers" (including service number where customer can call in) and a measure "number of calls".
The I created a report with the MDX builder showing a date as column (i.e. 02/01/2007), service numbers as rows and number of calls in the middle. Easy :-)
Now I will add a column with a date one year before (i.e. 02/01/2006) and a column showing the difference between the two dates as a percentage value.
How can I create this in the graphical builder? Or do I have to create the MDX query manualy?

I have an ASP.Net page that needs to sometimes pass a null parameter value to the querystring. It bombes out with an error that a date cannot be "" and that i need to supply the date.
Has any1 been able to get this right? How does one pass a null date through the querystring?
I have to filter my report with the date parameter. Custom Dates are comming from the database.
I have to filter with the date just previous Date which user selected as a parameter.

I'm trying to clean up our report server and prune reports that are no longer in use by our users. Is there a way to find out the last time a report was accessed?
I have a model with "Purchase Date" column. The Model has created the date variations "Purchase Day", "Purchase Month", "Purchase Year", "Purchase Quarter", "First Purchase Date" and "Last Purchase Date".
When I create a report using report builder, I want to list the purchase details by "Purchase Quarter,Purchase Month". The "Purchase Month" being the Integer attribute it is displaying 1,2 3... however I would like to display "Jan,Feb, Mar..." So I tried the following 1. set the Format to "MMM", this displays MMM and not "Jan, Feb, Mar..." 2. set the Expression for "Purchase Month" to "PurchaseDate" and then the Format to "MMM". this gives the "Jan, Feb, Mar..." but it displays one for each date and it doesn't aggregate.
I've a SSRS report with the details in regards to shipping information. Currently in my report the 'Scheduled Ship Date' is set to following Monday, if we miss the 'Requested Delivery Date'. However, I need to change this report to set shipment date('Scheduled Ship Date') to Tuesday and Friday for the shipment having 'Requested Delivery Date' for this week or next week(current week and next week).
For example- Jobs that have shipment date between 3/1/2015 - 3/7/2015 will have 'Scheduled Ship Date' as Tuesday and Friday of current week. If we miss the shipment for this week it should be scheduled for next Tuesday(3/9/2015) and Friday (3/13/2015). I need to follow this for current week(3/1/2015-3/8/2015) and following week(3/9/2015-3/15/2015) and after that all the following weeks will have 'Scheduled Ship Date' as Tuesdays.

I've a SSRS monthly sales report with the sales details for current year and last year. I've 4 paramaters in the report. StartDate1, EndDate1, StartDate2 (hidden), EndDate2 (hidden).

A Contractor has a list of Contracting Companies that he has worked for in his history.
For each row in the "Contracting Company" table, there is an Active Date and an Inactive Date. Each Contracting Company cannot have overlapping dates.
The last row in the table for that Contractor may have a null Inactive Date. That just means that he doesn't know when his contract will end.
In Report Builder, I can access the "Last Active Date", because there is a pre-built formula for "Last Active Date". However, whenever I access the prebuilt formula "Last Inactive Date" - I get the inactive date for the second-last row, because the last row has a null value for the Inactive Date! I want to get the Inactive Date for the last row - not the second last row!
My company sends reports on a daily basis to our customers. Now I want to save all the sent reports on disc with the date in the filename. I have set up a subscription which daily saves the files where I want them. However, I haven't found a way to add the date easily. I already have a parameter when creating the report, it is called Date. Does anybody know if I can use a parameter or something else?
But have error (An error occurred during local report rpocessing. The properly "DefaultValue" of report parameter 'EndDate' doesn't have the expected type.)
I was wondering if there's a way to override the default date parameter of a report to a dynamic value such as Today(), Now(), DateAdd(),... through Report Manager.
I know this can be done in Report Designer, but never been successful when I try to change the date parameter value in Report Manager.
I've tried to change the date parameter value by clicking on the Override Default button in the report's properties page from Report Manager, error like the one below will be shown after I entered Now() in the Default Value field and clicked Apply: The value provided for the report parameter 'StartDate' is not valid for its type. (rsReportParameterTypeMismatch)
I am doing search through Date Range but didn't get correct result.
For Example if i created a Task on 5/8/2014 and when i have take Date Range from 1/8/2014 to 6/8/2014 then didn't get 5/8/2014 data in result but when i taken range from 1/8/2014 to 5/8/2014 then got the 5th Date data.
I have a table containing typed log entries. One log entry is supposedto be created every twelve hours, but sometimes there are gaps. I needto create a report showing the time of entry, and the actual log entry.I can't just list the contents of the log table, because if I do thatthere will be dates missing. Instead, when there isn't a log entry fora date, I need to print the date, and then just leave the log entryblank.The SQL bellows shows what the output should look like. HOWEVER, thecode below makes use of a temp table containing all possible dates. Myquestion is, is there a better way to do this - one that doesn'tinvolve the temp table? Since migrating Reporting Services from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008, the Last Run date, visible on the Details view of reports in a folder under Report Manager, has been blank. I would hope that this is supposed to be populated and equivalent to the "When Run" date visible in the 2005 version of Report Manager. Any setting that needs to be configured in order for this to show, or if this has been reported as a bug?
I'm having a hard time getting date filters to work properly in Report Builder 2005. One of my model entites contains a datetime field called Date Opened, which corresponds to a datetime field in my database table. This is how the data looks like: 6/27/2007 11:31:52 AM, 6/27/2007 11:33:33 AM, 7/3/2007 9:24:07 AM.
1. I created an ad-hoc report and added a filter on Date Opened field, setting condition to PROMPT where Date Opened EQUALS some value. Next to EQUALS I get a dropdown list with the following values: 6/27/2007 11:31:52 AM, 6/27/2007 11:33:33 AM, 7/3/2007 9:24:07 AM. It looks like this list was generated by pulling all Date Opened values (including a time stamp) from the database. The problem comes up when I run this report and Date Opened filter limits me to choosing exact date time, when I want to see all rows for the specific date (the entire day). Is there any way to make EQUALS list not include the time stamps and show only dates, or give me a calendar control instead so I can choose the date (no time) to filter on? I noticed that if database had no existing values for Date Opened, the Equals list lets me choose a date with a calendar. I need to accomplish the same even if there are some values in the database.
2. The same setup as above. This time I choose to see all rows where Date Opened is AFTER specific date and set it to PROMPT the user. If I actually choose a default value on Filter Date dialog, run the report having picked some new value in a filter, it behaves as expected giving me all rows AFTER the date I specified. If I leave default value unspecified, run the report having picked some new value in a filter, it returns all rows on the date I specified and AFTER. In other words, it behaves like ON or AFTER. Is this a bug?
3. Same as scenario #2 above just using On or BEFORE. If I leave the default value unspecified on Filter Date dialog, run the report having picked some new value in a filter, it returns all rows before the date I specified, behaving like BEFORE rather than On or BEFORE. Is this a bug?
Any help is greately appreciated. I know we'll be getting customer calls about these issues.
I need to schedule a report with date ranges which change from month to month. Is there a scheduler date function I can place in the parameter field(s) for that report?
