SSIS From SQL2K5 To MySQL

We recently migrated from a SQL 2K to 2K5. We had an automatic DTS scheduled every night that would transfer data to a MySQL server on one of our client€™s machine. It worked like a charm in SQL 2K.
I am trying to figure out how I can connect to a MySQL data source using SSIS in 2K5 as I don€™t see an ODBC Destination anywhere in the Data Flow Task; and run the same transfer using 2K5.
Do I have to add a reference of some kind or does 2K5 doesn€™t support ODBC destinations?

I have a process that copies data from a MySql database to Sql Server. This process has worked fine on another server but is failing on a new server. I created an ODBC connection to the MySql database which works fine. In the job, it has a Connection Manager object to the MySql database which Tests successfully. The job has a Datareader source with a very simple SQL command in it. When I run the job, I get the following error:

It says that the Data Source Name Not Found. If this was so, how is the connection manager test succeeding?
I am running the MySql driver version 3.51.12.
Any ideas what might be causing this to fail will be greatly appreciated!

Sep 7, 2007I need to export tables to a MySQL database. I created an ODBC data source for the MySQL database however not sure how to develop a package to export SQL Server data to MySQL.

I'm getting an error message (see below ) using the SSIS Import and Export Wizard to read in IBM DB2 databases on a XP 64 machine. I'm trying to import the DB2 (8.2.8) tables from IBM/AIX to SQL Server 2005. I have the IBM Client V8 with Fixpak 14 installed on the computer.
Using IBM OLE DB Provider for DB2 ( testing connection is fine ) for Data Source
Using Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server for Destination to SQL 2005 database (also tried SQL native Client )
During the next screen "Copy data from one or more tables or views" I get the following error and no tables show up.
CLI0102E Invalid Conversion. SQLSTATE=07006

I've checked on BLOBs and CLOBs in the tables on the DB2 side and none of the tables I have access to have them (but there are tables with BLOBs and CLOBs in them). I haven't checked on decimal conversion but I've seen DB2 Decimal (30,15) columns in some tables.
If someone could tell me the steps and tables that the Wizard uses to build the table list from, I'll go into DB2 Command Center and run a few queries.
I've also tried the MS OLE DB for DB2 Provider but I get an error message on the authentication method not being supported.

MySql SSIS Hangs With ODBC Drivers
Mar 2, 2006Hi, we are writting a SQL Server Integration Services package to import data from a MySql database to a Sql Database.
We are using ODBC 3.51 Drivers to connect to the MySql Database in SSIS. The package runs perfectly in design mode. When we schedule the package to run, the package seems to hang about 1/3 of the times.
What can this be. We used to the package and ran it from a Sql Server 2005 to a Sql Server 2005 database. This setup works perfectly. When i'm doing MySql to Sql Server 2005, 1/3 of the times, it does not work.
Can anyone help me with this?

Need Help With Microsoft's DB2 Driver In SSIS Package

I need to re-write some SQL 2000 DTS packages in SSIS to pull data from our db2 system into SQL. I would like to use Microsoft's DB2 OLE DB driver. I'm new to SSIS and the db2 provider, so it may just simply be that I'm setting things up incorrectly.
What I've done:
- created the udl via the Data Access Tool that comes as part of the DB2 provider - connection tests successfully
- created the data source in the SSIS package explorer - connection tests successfully
- added a connection in the connection manager in the SSIS package - connection tests successfully
When I try to set up a data flow, I pull in an ODBC source and edit the source to use the db2 connection. I can get so far as to select the desired table from the drop-down list and then when I try to view columns or just click the okay button, receive the following error :
Error at Package [Connection manager "UDLFilename.catalog.username"]: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80070057.
An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft DB2 OLE DB Provider" Hresult: 0x80070057
Description: "The parameter is incorrect.".
Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Souce [1]]: SSIS Error Code

I 'm trying to get countNumber from a select statement in MySQL source. Something likes this:
select @countNumber = count(*) from tableName where condition_1 = xxx
I use ExecuteSQLTask to get the result set with result name @countNumber along with ADO.NET connection type.
I 've installed mysql-connector-net-5.0.5 cause the source is MySQL 5x.
And I got a task failed error which is described below:
[Execute SQL Task] Error: An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "new_process": "Result binding by name "@new_process" is not supported for this connection type. ".

In SSIS Execute SQL Task, Single-row Result From Querying Mysql Binding With A Variable
Jul 20, 2007I set up a connection to mysql using ADO.NET's ODBC Data Provider. And I'm running a simple query to return one table's maximum ID(int32 unsigned). There is no problem to achieve that.
But when I bind the result to a variable and excute task. It gives out error message: "An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "MaxAuditLogID": "Result binding by name "MaxID" is not supported for this connection type. "
I tried to change the type of variable around but with no luck.
Could anyone help with this issue? Thanks!
Special Character Problems With SSIS Data Reader Using ODBC Driver For DB2

Hi,
in SSIS I read data from a DB2 database on AS400 using the Client Access ODBC Driver for DB2 from IBM and write it to a SQL Server database. Since it does not work using the odbc driver as data source directly, I use a data reader component with .net providersodbc.
Some special characters were not translated correctly when read from DB2. They show up as ? in the SQL Server target table.
I tried to change the client locale in the ODBC connection properties but it did not help me. I tried changing all other settings in odbc but it still does not work.
In dts I could source all the data without this problems and good speed using the same nodbc driver.
The OLEDB Providers delivered with SSIS do not work in SSIS or I am too stupid to configure them correctly. They are even too slow as I explained above.
I cannot use the MS OLEDB Provider for DB2, because it works only in Enterprize Edition and we only have the Standard Edition.
Thus, only using Client Access ODBC Driver for DB2 with net providersodbc (as bridge) is performant enough and works on Itanium. But how to work around the problem with the special characters?

getting msg below at the sql server . i looked at other posts on trying to uninstall SQL Native Access Client and norton antivirus. i could never find the snac on the add - remove programs and this server does not have a virus protection program yet.
here's the history of the installs on the server:
wanted to test a 2005 upgrade so:
1) installed sql server 2000 then sp4 then restored some databases to it - all OK
2) tried to upgrade to sql 2005 but ran into problems and left it at that.
had a disk drive crash on the d drive so lost the installs but not the operating system
when the drive was replaced, left alone for a while
then wanted to test a straight 2005 install
1) removed the broken 2005 attempt
2) removed the 2000
3) installed 2005 and got the error on the subject line:

SQL Server Setup could not connect to the database service for server configuration. i am not sure yet if this is an issue with sql, php or phpbb
php is installed in iis and has all the modules installed which the php msi installer supported. i can run php code but in this case when i'm running the install.php file for the phphbb setup, i fill in the values for the database and got that error
phpbb detects all the required server settings and sees that i have ms sql installed
any suggestions on what that error means or how to go about configuring odbc driver?

Jun 1, 2015I have a SSIS package running well in production however sometimes the package will fail when the excel file contains more than 25000+ rows.
The SSIS package is run by SQL Server Agent and is set to run in 32bit mode.
I checked the data by loading in batches and all data loaded successfully. But the funny thing is when I run the same package on my local development PC using BIDS and the same data file. The package loads all 25000+ rows successfully.
Is there some setting that is preventing all rows loading in the server environment.

For instance, how can I know Ms SQL Server 2000 can work with which version of sqlsrv32.dll, a particular version of sqlsrv32.dll can work with which version of odbc32.dll and a certain version of sqlsrv32.dll/odbc32.dll conforms to which version of ODBC API spec (e.g. 3.5).

It was written to use MySQL running on a Debian server, but I am going to move it to SQL Server 2000 and integrate it with our Accounting software. The part I am having trouble with is the user login portion. I previously used this:

Apparently the password() function is not available when accessing SQL Server via ODBC. Is there an equivalent function I could use isntead so the passwords arent plaintext in the database? I only have 15 people using the system so a blank pwd reset wouldn't be too much trouble.

Please let me know if anyone has one or knows of one that works because I really do not want to hand port my 70 table database from mySQL to msSQL

Oct 21, 2007Hi, I've been coding in C#/ASP.NET for a little while now, but I've only ever used MS SQL.I'm starting a new project at work soon, and our host provides free MySQL databases but charges for MS SQL databases.
What are the pros/cons for each of these databases, and how much conversion would be required in an existing C#/ASP.NET application if I wanted to change from MS SQL to MySQL? I assume the syntax/commands to operate a C# app with MS SQL are different to the ones required to communicate with a MySQL database?
I'll probably stick with MS SQL because it's what I know, but I'd like to get familiar with MySQL as it might come in handy one day.Thanks, any information is greatly appreciated.
