I have this table which contains 2 datetime fields called Startdate & enddate
Startdate cannot contain NULL
Enddate can because it can be a single day event or a period.
If enddate is not null it must be later than startdate
i created this checkconstraint
enddate > startdate
But i also fires when enddate = NULL
Someone knows howto do this?

I used Local System for the user name as that is what I think I am seeing as the right user account.

Well I looking voor a nice way to check a creditcard number with a contraint. I don't want to do it in the client software. So I thought I could use a contraint.

You can't have but one default contraint in a DB named
df_revisiondate Default getdate()
I thought that sense they were being created on different Tables that it would not matter. It was a way to maintain a type of consistency by giving them the same name. However, it SEEMS to have caused all my tables to crash.

I have created a typed-dataset AuthorsDataSet and created a table in with name Authors, manually by right-click > New > Table. I have kept the data-types, sizes and contstriants exactly same as the table in the database, though I have kept the Column names different. ExtractSession is an integer that uniquely identifies the run (for the night, perhaps). I load a bunch of staging tables that retain their data for a period of time, with each load identified by this staging number. So, I need to restrict my data pull to the correct load (extractSession).
The first query returns three (3) rows when I should be getting back all 250,000 rows from table1. The second query listed works correctly.
Am I missing something, or do I need to find another way to constrain my tables' extract session dynamically at execution time in SSIS? Is a control table the best way to go here and simply join to it?

I just upgraded my SQL 2000 server to SQL2005. I forked out all that money, and now it takes 4~5 seconds for a webpage to load. You can see for yourself. It's pathetic. When I ran SQL2000, i was getting instant results on any webpage. I can't find any tool to optimize the tables or databases. And when I used caused SQL Server to use 100% cpu and 500+MB of ram. I can't have this.Can anyone give me some tips as to why SQL 2005 is so slow?

I am unable to install 32-bit SQL Server Integration Services on the server due to something that was left behind by the 64-bit version.
I've uninstalled SQL Server 2005 64-bit and when I try to install the 32-bit version of Integration Services, I get this error: "Failed to install and configure assemblies C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft SQL Server90DTSTasksMicrosoft.SqlServer.MSMQTask.dll in the COM+ catalog. I can't seem to figure out how to resolve this problem with the COM+ and I can't remember if Integration Services is required.

I have a vb program that include a dts package that has been saved to vb with sql2000 dts wizard and works very good.
Now that I upgrade my website to sql2005, this vb dts package doesn't work.
The error I get is:

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have some production boxes on Win 2000 32-bits OS and some production servers have been upgraded to Win2003 64-bit OS runing SQL Server 2005. There are also a number of Win2003 32-bit OS running SQL 2005.
The issue is that when linking the 64-bit production servers to the 32-bit boxes running SQL 2005 / Win 2003 OS, the linking seems to succeed, but I am unable to see a number of entries in sys.objects. Typically, these objects are User Stored Procedures.
Moreover, the linking seemed to have worked, but data extraction does not take place between the servers. However, there are no errors. The objects (user stored procs) exist on the 64-bit side, but linking does not actually happen.
Microsoft KB has addressed this in SQL 2000 case in this KB article, but has not suggested a solution for SQL 2005.
Any ideas? Has anyone else encountered this?

For Example I have 1 CPU License of SQL 2005, but I have 2 sockets in my physical box. One socket is having 2 cores. So I want to say the SQL server (2005) to use the 2 cpu's only( i.e Any of one socket)

I have an SQL2005 db residing on a 64bit server.I can load and run my App, provided it is installed on the server.However when I try to run from a Client's PC I get timeout errors.
Initially the error was Remote connections not allowed,but I have overcome this by ensuring SQLbrowser was running and that AllClient and Server Prodtocols were enabled.
I now keep getting a message the timeout has expired.
Do I need to do more in a 64bit environment.
Please help !
