I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 and Visual Studio 2008. However, after several installations and un-installations. I could no longer use the SSIS to create New Projects. I cleaned out the registry with a Registry cleaner from Wise. I deleted the SQL Server and Visual Studio folders as well.
When I create a New SSIS Project, I immediately get an error as follows:
"Microsoft Visual Studio"
"An error prevented the view from loading."
"Additional information:"
"Specified Module cannot be Found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"
"(System.Windows.Forms)"
What this means is that I cannot create any new SSIS Projects.

Hi,
I created a SSIS package which will generate an output file and place it on a remote fileshare location which will look something like this
\RemoteServerNameRemoteFilePath
The package is executing fine when I am executing it through BIDS or through execute package utility and writing the output file to remote file share location.
I created a SQL job for the package and ran the Job. Then, its throwing an error saying
Executed as user: DomainUser. Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility Version 9.00.3042.00 for 32-bit Copyright (C) Microsoft Corp 1984-2005. All rights reserved. DomainUser have all the permissions on the remote file share location.
SQL server agent is running with the log-on account DomainUser(same as the above).
Could anyone help me in resolving this issue.
Thanks & Regards,
Sriram.

Hi,
Using ssis, is it possible to refresh the data inside an excel file which is sitting on a separate machine (i.e. machine B) on the network?
When I try this using the importy wizard, the error message is:
The microdoft jet database engine can not open the file \pathnamedata.xls. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view it's data.
I have checked and the file is closed. No excel is running when checking the processes.
I have given myself full permission on that file from that machine where data.xls is sitting.
Thanks

I have installed in my machine SQL 2005 with SSIS components, and the Visual studio 2005. The installation process was successfully and all components seem to be on the machine, but I did not find the shortcut to allow me running SSIS environment.
When I re-run the SQL setup the SSIS components is there but is unable to be used.
Any idea how to solve this issue?
Thank you,

Hi,
I have been working on an SSIS project for sometime now. The project files are located on a remote server. Suddenly I am not able to open the solution I get a lot of error messages and all the data flow taks are gone. I later found out that SSIS encrypts packages, so that other users will not be able to see them. Fine, but I have been using the same windows user account for months now. What could be the problem?
This is what I get when trying to open the solution:
There were errors while the package was being loaded.
The package might be corrupted.
See the Error List for details.
And the error list also contains messages saying "Could not load from xml".
Any pointers will be much appreciated.
TIA

I am in the process of migrating DTS 2000 packages via DTS Migration Wizard.
I ran all of the packages through the wizard. Then, I successfully completed changing the remaining issues in two of my packages to SSIS. Everything was fine. The second package I completed is called from a SQL Agent Job. I managed to get the job step converted to use SSIS package. It ran successfully.
Now, I am trying to open other packages to work on them and I get "Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document: Value does not fall within the expected range." and a message window that says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." This actually happens with the two that I migrated, also. I can no longer access them.
What happened?!?!?!? Does anyone have any experience with this?

hi everyone,
A couple of issues.
1)I usually connect to my remote server via TS using a specific login (it belong to Admins) and through that user I open my SSIS projects (30 packages). Now, I have a new user and the same operation take a long time and I don't know why (same permissions) the reasons for this big delay.
2)When I'm gonna to press "Delete all Breakpoints" from Debug menu BIDS is closed. Previously appears a Microsoft dialog (Microsoft has encountered an error...) asking if you inform or not of these errors.
Thanks in advance and regards,

I am receiving the following error when attempting to create a new package in SSIS 2005. I have completeley re-installed, and even had our support folks re-image my pc, but no luck. Works fine on my laptop, and others are not having any issues.
Microsoft Visual Studio is unable to load this document:

Hi
I couldn't find an 'SQL Server Agent' Forum , so I'm posting this here...sorry.
I'm using a job to run a batch file with several robocopy commands in it.
The step in the scheduled job runs a SSIS package saved in the Server Package Store.
The SSIS package uses an 'Execute Process Task' control flow item.
The 'Execute Process task' simply calls and execute the batch file. (WindowStyle property = Maximized)
The package/job runs fine in both Visual Studio and in Management Studio. However when run from the latter (SQL Management Studio Job) the command prompt window (dos screen) doesn't open so I can't tell at what stage the batch file is in at any given time.
How can I get the window to open? By the way the window does open if I run the SSIS from Visual Studio.
Thank you

I have seen several problems posted where an SSIS package writes a file successfully when executed manually, but fails when executed via SQL Agent job..I have the opposite problem. I'll try to lay it out succinctly: SSIS writes to a file on a shared folder, specified as HostAShare, for example. I created the share and gave full control to Everyone (out of frustration).I'm working from HostA via RDP, connected to the DB on DBHost via SSMS.If I kick off a SQL Agent job that executes the package, it works fine. (SQL job is running under SQL Server Agent Service Account). If I execute the job interactively (logged in to SSMS with Windows Auth), it fails with "Error: Cannot open the datafile "HostASharefilename.ext""We did find that if I RDP directly to the DBHost, I am able to execute manually. Also, if I try executing an xp_command shell command to write a file to the share, it works. (When RDP's into HostA with an SSMS connection to DBHost under my windows domain auth, as above.)The problem is the same when I RDP to any remote host.

I get the below error only when my IDE open. It connects well when it is found closed.
[SqlException (0x80131904): Cannot open user default database. Login failed.Login failed for user 'JPASPNET'.]
I could solve this by giving the logged in windows user to impersonate under IIS window > WEBSITE > ASP.NET tab > EDIT CONFIG > APPLICATION tab
But I wish someone could give me the proper solution.
I almost tried all from giving ASPNET user as a administrator to configuring the same in Express management tool.
Environment: XP pro, VWD and SQL Express

Hi there,
I got an approach like that:
1) Read something from DB - check the value, if true stop if false go on2) Read the second Value (another SQL Statement) - check the value etc.
Now I could open the connection at 1) and if I have to go to 2) I leave the connection open and use the same connection at 2). Is it ok to do that?
The other scenario would be opening a connection at 1), immediately close it after I read the value and open a new connection at 2).
Thanks for the input!

I don't know why my application on the internet try to access the SQL Server 2005, when the host still having the 2000 edition. I put the following connection string:
Data Source=##DBSERVER##;Initial Catalog=##DBNAME##;User ID=##DBUSER##;Password=##DBPASSWORD##;
Isn’t everything fine with that? I created the table by host but dosen’t work. I’m wondering if can I conect straight with Data Base, without register in the server, like with mdb?
This is the error that I’m getting.
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Hi, Has somebody had a problem like this before? Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the
fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not
open a connection to SQL Server) That's part of the code: SqlConnection con; string sql; SqlCommand cmd; con=new SqlConnection("Data Source=elf/SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=logos;Integrated Security=SSPI;"); sql="SELECT max(id_kandydat) from Kandydat"; con.Open(); cmd=new SqlCommand(sql, con); int id = Convert.ToInt32(cmd.ExecuteScalar()); con.Close(); SqlDataSource7.InsertCommand="INSERT INTO Kandydat_na_Kierunek(id_kandydat, id_kierunku, id_stan) VALUES ("+"'"+id+"'"+","+"'"+DropDownList1.SelectedValue+"'"+","+'1'+");"; I don't really get it. I'm nearly 100% sure that before some changes in my project this had worked perfectly. Does anybody have any idea how to make it work again? I would be very grateful for any help. And, yesy, I know it is quite common error, but proposed solution found didn't help.Regards,N.

I want to open a view from a different SQL Server and database. I have gotten this to work fine with a different database, I believe the problem I am having now is tied to the name of both the SQL Server and the name of the database. The SQL Server has a '' in the title and the database has a '-' in the title. This is the code I have used and it does not work.
SELECT *
FROM REACTSCHICOSQLEXPRESS.REACTS - CNC.dbo.vwB30SalesContractProduct
I have tried putting in {} and [] and "" nothing seems to do the trick.
