Getting Code 0 errors in ActiveX scripts within DTS & can't trap the decription(s).
I remember seeing an OLD Thread on expanding the Code 0 errors but can't find it.

Any ideas? Would setting the isolation level to Read Commited help?

Our guess is when the data size of User Events table is more it throws this error. If we try to transfer small subset of data it succeeds. What could be reason for this error?

ODBC Driver Example Code
Dec 20, 2007I am new to Microsoft and have been tasked with writting and ODBC Driver.
I've looked through the MSDN site and found a number of articles that discuss ODBC Driver development. I've read through the ODBC API reference manual and have a pretty good idea what needs to be done.
What I need to move forward is to find some example code that I can look at. An article that identifies the steps to creating and deploying an ODBC driver would be great!
Does anyone know where I can find some ODBC Driver example code? Would it help if I had an MSDN Subscription?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I supplied sa credentials to connection manager, and it shows the list of Packages on SQL Server but when running the task it says
Error 0xC0202009 while preparing to load the package. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x%1!8.8X!.
Any clue ?

Usually the ".Update" triggers the exception, but sometimes the other sql commands do it.
Have tried various experiments with disposing of objects immediately when finished, but no effect.
Opening and closing the connection each loop seems to delay the errors, but it still happens eventually.

Feb 12, 2007I have an application that connects to SQL 2000 thru ODBC.
When our administrators login on the workstation the application
works well. But when ordinary users login they get the following error.
SQLState: 28000
SQL Server Error: 18452
Login failed for user ". The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
I have restarted SQL Server and IIS to no avail. We are using SQL and Windows auth mode.
Any ideas? This just started this morning.

We have an application that connects to SQL 2005 thru ODBC with the following string:
driver=SQL Server;server=server1;database=db2005;uid=serveruser;pwd=pwd1;

Then the standard SQL Server Login window pops up asking for the Login ID and Password. On the window the 'Use Trusted Connection' is checked and the name of the user on the workstation appears on the LoginID. What we do is uncheck the 'Use Trusted Connection' then login using the credentials above.

I do not want to add the login account to sysadmin role on my production server and giving the logon account db_reader rights to my database is not working. Is there another way around it.

Mar 22, 2007I'm trying to create a simple Data transfermation. I have a flat file that came of a unix server.. it's 177 bytes wide.. thought it was 175, but when I created the flat file connector, I could see some extra characters on the end.
My output is going to be an excel spreadsheet, I only want two columns from the input. I created an oledb jet 4.0 connection. and followed instructions from here :

to create my datafow.
On my first attempt to dataflow, I ran into unicode errors and had to do this:
ran into a problem with unicode errors. went to the source for the flat file. for the output column in question changed to Unicode string [DT_WSTR].
When I run , here are the errors I get:
[OLE DB Destination [513]] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E09. [DTS.Pipeline]
Error: The ProcessInput method on component "OLE DB Destination" (513) failed with error code 0xC0202009. The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.

ODBC Error Returns Error, But Sql Is Fine
Mar 12, 2002When I run some code through an odbc driver onto a SQL server 6.5 database, from vb an error is being returned along the lines of
22005 Syntax error converting 'string' to INT4
if I copy this code, either from vb or from sql trace, and run it in isql the code runs without any errors.
The only thing I have found is about NULLs so I have removed these from the code that is passed through?
Any more suggestions?

Apr 28, 2008I have been searching high and low for days and I am perplexed and appalled at the lack of information regarding what can not be an isolated incident.
We are trying to get an Analysis Services 2005 to process on a x64 server. We have both versions of the Oracle client installed and .ora file in both places. I have seen a couple of posts regarding this issue, but they are 2 years old and MS was supposed to have resolved the 'parentheses' issue long ago.
The test connection succeeds, and I can explore the data in the datasource view, but I cannot process the cube. All I get is the "OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Class not registered"

I tried a few things that were suggested in posts, but nothing has worked. I tried the cmd line starting SSMS from progra~2 instead of (x86). I tried renaming the directory with no parentheses. This is the second time we've tried to get it to work in 2 years. We'll probably give up again and stay with x86, um, because it works without all these silly mickey-mouse tricks. Most of our relational DBs are ORACLE so this is a showstopper for us as far as trying to go x64.
Sorry for the attitude, but I'm really frustrated!

hello,
we have changed the name of MS SQL server 2005 from XYZ to ABC using
sp_dropserver <old_name>

sp_addserver <new_name>, local

Now our maitenance plan is getting failed we are not able to execute backup jobs we are getting following error

I am applying hourly differential backup to the backup server from production with the following command. This command makes the database on standby server into read only mode.
RESTORE DATABASE ARSYSTEM FROM DISK = 'E:SQL backup from productionsql_full_backup'
WITH MOVE 'arsystem' TO
'd:ardataarsystem.mdf' ,
MOVE 'arsystem_log' TO 'D:ARLOGARsystem' ,
STANDBY = 'E:SQL backup from productionSQL daily diff back up'
Now I want to run a command which will put the database in write mode. I have created a job which would make the datbase Write mode. This job runs successfully sometimes and fails sometimes. I need to ensure that the job always succeeds. When it fails, how do I troubleshoot and what is the possible fix?

I am getting an error "An unknown error occurred in the WMI
provider. Error Code 8000000A" when connecting to a web server. The
reporting services is running. Is there any other installation that is
missing. Please help.

I am trying to install Project Server, and i'm having issues with sharepoint, and connecting to SQL:
dataserver is running sbs2003 sql2003 and analsys services.
server2 is running server2003 is to be the application server for project.
ProjectDb is the database that i have setup in sql.
username is the account that can control everything as administrer.
in Sharepoint is asks for the database server: <<dataserver>>
SQL Server database name: <<ProjectDb>>
I'm using windoes authentication and then i click ok, and get the error message.
I've also see the error message can not find the SQL Server, and access denied. Under ODBC i have installed the sql server information under System DSN.
Any help would be great.

Jun 24, 2001I got this error message while I was trying to backup the last transaction log before I start restoring a database that is marked SUSPECT. SQL Server is running on Windows 9x. Please how can I handle it because I can't even restore the db. Thanks for your help!

May 28, 2000We are using ASP to connect to a remote database running on SQL server 7.0. On our testmachine we get no trouble, maybe because the SQLserver and Webserver is running on the same machine. But when we upload our code to a webserver and make a copy of our database on a remote SQLserver we get this error :

The setup routines for the sybase system 11 odbc driver could not be loaded due to system error code 127.
It also gives the following message when I hit ok for the above message

Jun 25, 2007Hi guys, I have not posted to this site before, but I am wondering if someone knows about DTS ODBC source files and maybe if I am having some kind of permsissions problem.
I am trying to create a DTS import through SQL Server 2000 and pull data via an Advantage Database ODBC. I can seem to get it to work on a remote server with the Management tools installed, but if I try to schedule it as a task it fails.
Anywas the files are on one server and the odbc is installed coorrectly, but when i try to import the tables I get this error message:

Any one know why this is happening?
My goal is to set a scheduled task to import these tables every night from an export that is written by another team.
