Hi,
I try to load in a C# application a DTS Package containing only one OLAP Task.
But the "LoadFromSQLServer" command hangs for 1h30 before retrieving the DTS Package information.
The same code is working perfectly fine for other DTS Packages.
I have already set the Workflow properties of the DTS task to "execute on main thread". It doesn't change anything.
HELP!!!!

I have some problem:
Evryday I autmoaticaly run SqlAgent job with DTS task that run tasks:
1. SQL Task: Shrink tempdb database
2. Analysis services task: Process ALL Database
From some time the job fails to run. I have error indicating that tempdb is full
The error string is: "The log file for database 'tempdb' is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space"
The size of temdb file growth to 20GB.
When I process Databse manually in Analysis Manager the database process correctly (because Analysis Manager do not use tempdb but temp folder)
What I should do in this case?
I shrink tempdb before every processing so back up of transaction log will not help me.
Any sugestions?
I'am using SBS 2000 Standard Edition ENG with installed components:
Active Directory
Exchange 2000
SQL 2000
System has 4GB RAM and 2 XEON CPU.

I have installed OLAP services along with SQL Server 7.0. I want to use the sample MDX application supplied with the CD. When I try to use the dsample application, it comes up with a dialog to enter the server name and gives me an error unable to connect to the OLAP server.
My computer is Windows 98. Do I need to install OLAP Server ? If so how ?

We have an OLAP Cube which has 126 Levels in it (128 is maximum).
The processing of this cube only works sometimes.
Latest problem is the folling error message when refreshing the cube´s
Data-Source:
Failed to inform the OLAP-Server to refresh the connection to the
'A000S8-DW' data source. (A000S8 is the OLAP-Server-Name)
Error: Cannot open transaction to the server.
Cannot open database 'A000S8' on the OLAP-Server. (There is no A000S8
database on the Server A000S8 !)
When i test the connection in the data-sources-properties-box it says
'TEST Connection succeeded'

I have cube created, When I use the drill through option for some cells I get the the following message
'Unable to drill through. The operation requested failed due to timeout'
I tried setting connection timeout in the advanced tab of data Link properties to max(at the moment set to 15 seconds), But could not save that. The Analysis manager does not respond.

In trying to use a €œTransfer SQL Server Objects Task€? in a container using a transaction on the container. The task is set to support the transaction. It is setup to copy table data from several tables from a non-domain server (sql server 2000) to a domain-based server (sql server 2005). I get an error stating, €œThis task can not participate in a transaction€?.
I am wondering if it means exactly what it says €“ this task in SSIS can€™t participate at all. Or does it mean that it won€™t in this scenario for some reason. I attempted a simple copy of data from mssql 2005 to mssql 2005 (same server) and the task still failed). MSDTC appears to be running properly on my machine and such (I can do a simple distributed transaction across linked server to the 2000 server in Query Analyzer (QA)). Also, MSDTC appears to be working on both servers with distributed transaction query tests in QA.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to prove I can use SSIS to connect to a web service. The WS I am trying to connect to was developed by a vendor and covered by a NDA, but I was able to reproduce the issue with a public WS.
Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:
In the Web Services Connection Manager, I entered http://office.microsoft.com/Research/Providers/MoneyCentral.asmx?wsdl in the URL window. I am able to successfully "test" the connection
I pasted the above link into IE and saved the resulting XML as a .wsdl file on my local machine. In the Web Services Task Editor, General Tab, I specify the path to the .wsdl file and click on "Download WSDL" button. No Issues
When I click on "Input" and select "MoneyCentralRemote" from the drop-down for Service, I receive an error message saying "This version of the Web Services Description Language (WSDL) is not supported"
So the questions are:
Did I perform the above steps correctly?
What WSDL versions are supported in SSIS?
How can I tell what WSDL version was used to create the .wsdl I am trying to access?
If the WSDL is an unsupported version, is there a work-around to fix the issue?

Using "Integration Services Project" template in Business Intelligence Studio. Using platforms Visual Studio 2005 along with SQL Server 2005.
Getting the error while trying to execute package after loading it programmaticaly.
I've just one task "Transfer SQL Server Objects Task" on my Integration Services package. But when I try to execute it from VS 2005 project programmaticaly, it gives the above mentioned error.
The commands I use:

I have a developer here that created an SSIS package that contains a Send Mail Task. When this developer runs the package in the Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) the send mail task runs without issue. But when he tries to run it using command line and the DTEXEC program it errors out with the following error message:

Here are the details of his machine:

Once we promoted the package to a production server it runs fine. I can also run the same package from my machine without issue. So, I'm pretty sure that it's specific to his machine, but I have no idea where to start looking.
Any deas where this error comes from?
I'm trying to determine how / if we can use the web service task in a number of senarios.
1) Is there a way to get the value from a reference parameter of a web service. The output result doesn't seem to include these values and the input parameters are not getting updated.
2) I'm assuming that if I want to use a web service as a data source, I call it and write the result to a file (or variable) in a pre-step and then use an XML data source in my data task?
3) If I want to send a dataset to a web service do I just use the dataset destination, and then send that as a parameter to the web service?
4) I'm at home while Kirk's book is at my apartment atm. Are there any other books / sites with examples of writing components for SSIS?

In microsoft 's document, http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187617.aspx, It suggests the for the value, If the Variable check-boxes are selected, select the variables in the list to provide the inputs; otherwise, type the values to use in the inputs. but I cannot find such Variable check-boxes.

Hi. I have an Analaysis Services (2005) cube with four dimensions and one fact table (with three partitions - 2006,2007,2008) for which I need to create an SSIS package to process. I only want to process one of the three partitions (2008) - the previous two years should remain unchanged.
This is what I have currently in the Analysis Services Processing Task under Processing configuration:
- An object for each of the dimensions with "Process Full."
- An object for the 2008 partition with "Process Full."
(Note - Under Process Options, I see only Process Default, Process Full, Unprocess, and Process Data for dimensions and partitions).
Batch settings are:
- Processing order: Sequential
- Transaction mode: All in one transaction
- Dimension errors: Ignore errors
- Process affected objects: Do not process
When I execute the package, the cube loses the 2006 and 2007 data.
I am assuming that I have an issue with the Process Option or the Batch Settings, and I would appreciate any guidance!

Hi all, here is my problem:
The last node of my workflow in SSIS is an analysis Services Processing Task, which is supposed to fully reprocess a cube, defined in a different project.
In the configuration, I found the correct cube and setups for it, I thought I wasn't gonna have any problems with it, but it started to complain about user and password information. I thought since the databases configured itself when I added them, the same thing would happen with this Task.
I do have my own user and pass which has permissions to reprocess the cube, although I thought windows authentication would be better then setting up a user and password for the application/task.
I looked in the entire configuration pane and found no information regarding username and password.
Where should I set it up, my SSIS solution or the Cube's solution?
This might be a newbie question, I'm not quite sure...

I am trying to run Olap Cube 2000 inside SSIS project.
I am using "Analysis Services Processing Task" Object.
The Visual Studio Project is sitting on the machine where the
analysis 2000 is running but yet i get an error while establish
a connection to the Analysis server.
On that machine also install MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2005 .
the error is:
A Connection Cannot be made . Ensure that the server is running.

When I execute the DTS package from EM, every thing works fine.
When I schedule the package from SQL Agent, I get the following error when the job executes:

How To Use Message Queue Task In Integration Services
I have been trying to get an SSIS package to allow me to set as a variable the actual script for running an Analysis Services DDL, want to perform a restore of a cube. Our environment is different for the location for DEV/QA/ and Production, so when I schedule the task to run I want to have the script needed, really just the path to where the backup lives.
Can someone give a solid solution for this? I have not tried to store parameters in a SQL table, but it would seem this is something that can be done through a variable. I have created a package variable and set the value inside and it runs, but if I try to change the value when I run the package it does not set the value I want.
Under Set Values of the package when I go to run I set the following:
Package.Variables[User::RestoreScript].Properties[Value]
I get a warning saying: "Warning: Configuration from a parent variable 'RestoreScript' did not occur because there was no parent variable collection.
I also have another variable to set, but same issue.
i set break point in Script Task, but the process didn't stop.

the 'loggingMode' is set 'enabled', but there is no records in the sysdtslog90 table while all other tasks are logged in the table. How to logging into the sysdtslog90 table?

OK. I give up and need help. Hopefully it's something minor ...
I have a dataflow which returns email addresses to a recordset.
I pass this recordset into a ForEachLoop configuring the enumerator as (Foreach ADO Enumerator). I also map the email address as a variable with index 0.
I then have a Execute SQL task which receives this email address as a varchar variable (parameter 0) which I then use in my SQL command to limit the rows returned. I have commented out the where clause and returned all rows regardless of email address to try to troubleshoot this problem. In either event, I then use a resultset to store the query result of type object and result name 0.
I then pass this resultset into a script variable to start parsing the sql rows returned as type object. ( I assume this is the correct way to do this from other prior posts ...).
The script appears to throw an exception at the following line. I assume it's because I'm either not passing in the values properly or the query doesn't return anything. However, I am certain the query works as it executes just fine at the command prompt.

Email works fine and sends out messages but the content is empty. I pass the parsed data as string values to the messagesource and define the messagesourcetype as a variable in the mail task.

Executing the FTP Task - The execution starts and after 3 or more minuts the execution stops with the RED X but with no errors, and the file is not transferred.I use the same entries to the FTP connection manager as it is for the Dreamweaver...The variable that I created for file in the site is FileName1 and the site directory tree is The local path is And The File Transfer is filled up like this: After the Execution stops I get..And the file was not transfered..Also, when I try to Specify the Variable Expretion.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a SSIS 2014 project that is being deployed to the 2014 SSIS catalog. In one of the packages there is a script task that uses an ftp connection manager within the package.
There is structured error handling in the script and it runs fine in development, but fails when deployed and scheduled to a SQL Server agent job. The error that is being returned isn't permissions of authentication failure, but returns as the task times out. The package and project use encryption by password.
