I am attempting to link a table to an .ADP using an ODBC link. When I run through the link table wizard, I hit 'finish' and this is the error I get.
[edited to add]: I am running MS Access 2003.
Can anyone help with this or tell me what this error message's translation is? Thanx.

I am having a problem following the installation of SQL Server 2005. When i try to run the SQL Server Configuration Manager, i get the following error message:
"Cannot connect to WMI provider. You do not have permission or the server is unreachable. Note that you can only manage SQL Server 2005 servers with SWL Server Configuration Manager. Class not registered [0x80040154]"
I looked at the thread "Unable to Uninstall SQL server 2005 Express" in which the same error number was mentioned and followed the advice, but still i get the same results. I have also tried
mofcomp "C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90Sharedsqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof" in command prompt, but no luck. Im running windows xp professional SP2.
Ive spent 4 hours on this issue, and even tried uninstalling and installing again, but i am having no luck. Any help is deeply appreciated.

A linked server is configured to a sql 2000 server and when I execute sql statement SELECT * FROM [LinkedServer].[Database].[dbo].[TableName] it gives following error message: -

OLE DB provider 'SQLOLEDB' reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.

In case if anyone has a solution to it, please let me know.

I had just installed SQL 2005 dev on my laptop and got an error message when I tried to create a package using the BI IDE. I received the same error using VS2005 IDE. But the project was created regardless without any packages. When I tried to create a new package in the project, I received the same error again, but with an option to view the error details.

I found a similar post that suggested that they try the following:
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml4.dll
regsvr32 msxml6.dll
But msxml6.dll could not be found.
I did get a copy of this file from a coworker, and after copying it and registering it, I was able to add a package to the project.
My concern now is what is the likelyhood of this being the only file missing from the installation.
I'm wondering if I should reinstall, or (if it exists) do a repair on the installation.

I am doing a SSIS package that is going to export the value of a table into an excel file.
I have set Run64bitRuntime debugging setting to false to can utilizate this export, here all goes well, but now I tried to go a little more far and I want to execute this package using the ms-dos command dtexec, and it's here where it gives me the error that in a first moment I has solved changing this set to false.
Has anyone any idea of why it is giving me that error?????

an error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for data set, ole db provider msdaora reported an error.
What things can I check? I have tested all my datasources and they succeeded.

First-time poster (and very new to ASP.NET, so please be patient) - I am using VS 2005. I have an ASP.Net 2.0 app that is using Forms Authentication and a Login server control with AspNetSqlMembershipProvider. I have an instance of ASPNETDB.MDF in the App_Data directory on my local machine and all works well (or at least as expected). I used the Copy Web Site function to port the app (including the ASPNETDB.MDF files) to my production platform, where I encounter the error mentioned in the subject line. I have found posts (both here and other forums) that mention enabling TCP/IP using Surface Area Configuartion Utility, SQL Server Browser are exempt from firewall, and a few other things. My production machine does not have SQL SVR 2005 installed nor SQL SVR Express. Do I have to install SQL Server Express onto my production platform in order to resolve this, or is there another means (something in SQL Server 2005 Management Studio on my local machine) that will enable me to do this on the production machine?Also, I have been told that it is possible to use a database on another machine as the data store for authentication. Does anyone know how to do that? This would make the first question moot.Thanks in advance!

I have the oracle client installed and I am able to use SQLPlus to connect to the oracle service and run queries. I set up the linked server just like I always do, but now when I attempt to access one of the tables on the linked server I get "Error 7399: OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA' reported an error. I am able to use the OLE DB provider for ODBC and connect with ODBC to oracle, but not with the MSDAORA OLEDB provider.

I have a strange problem with one of my Linked server connections. I am connecting from
SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition (9.00.3042.00) to and Oracle 10g database using the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle. The connection works and I am able to select from all the Oracle tables except for 1 table. When selecting from this table I get the following error:
OLE DB provider "MSDAORA" for linked server "DBNAME" returned message "ORA-01476: divisor is equal to zero".
Msg 7330, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "MSDAORA" for linked server "DBNAME".
This probem happens if the table has rows or has no rows (empty table).
I have tried SELECT * and count(*) along with selecting a specific column from the table.
I can use SQL*plus from the system that the SQL database server running on it and select from the table using the same login/password that the linked server uses to rule out a permissions problem.
Any suggestions on what I can try next?

I am using windows 2003 server and i have installed SSAS 2005 and configured http request for AS 2005 with this below url : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/httpasws.mspx. I had tried all the possiblities given in this url. But i am getting like "Test connection failed because of error initializing provider. The HTTP Server returned the following error : Not found" when i create udl file. Moreover i have installed MSOLAP 3.0 and OLAP 9.0 provider and MSXML 6.0 Parser.
Can you anyone please provide solution for this?

I have application in which i am performing synchronization between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 CE.
I have one table "ItemMaster" in my database.There is no relationship with this table,it is standalone.I am updating its values from Windows Mobile Device.
I am performing below operations for that.

When I initially downloaded SQL Server Express the System tables were visible using SQL Server Management Studio Express. I was able to create a new database and define and populate a couple of small tables. I then attempted to set up an ODBC SQL Natvie Client connection so that I could print the table contents using Crystal Reports. That failed with the following error message:
"An error occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default setting SQL Server does not allow remote connections."
I subsequently uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Server Express. Now, I get the following error message whenever I try to connect to the database using SQL Server Management Studio Express. Additionally, the System tables are no longer visible. However, I can access my database via the Server Explorer in VS2005.

I have created a linked server that connects to "mpp" file, and it connects and opens successfuly returning a list of tables that exists in the linked server to the mpp file.
But the problem i am facing now that whne i write a select statment to get data from the tables in this linked server
select * from linktompp.testmpp.dbo.tasks
such that linktompp is the linked server name
testmpp is the catalog name
tasks is the table name i need to select data from
it shows an error that says
"Could not obtain a required interface from OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.Project.OleDB.11.0'."

Using the full SQL Server 2005 patched up to build 9.0.3054.
Creating a simple maintenance plan to backup specific databases.
As soon as i try to save the plan i get the popup error :"no such interface supported". It won't allow me to save any plan at all regardless of what I put in there.
I need someone's help!!!!
I got Form Authentication to work, but I am getting this error sometimes. To reproduce this error consistantly is to run iisreset.exe to have a fresh start. Go to my report server login and open any report.
The page will display: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
If i click "F5" to refresh the page the report will show up or if you go to another report it will work also. It is just the first time after iisreset.exe. It is very strange.

I have recently installed SQL Server 2000 64 bit on Windows 2003 64 Bit. While trying to use OPENROWSET function to query Oracle Database I get the following error.
Server: Msg 7403, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Could not locate registry entry for OLE DB provider 'MSDAORA'.
OLE DB error trace [Non-interface error: Provider not registered.].
This is the syntax I am using for the OPENROWSET function. This same statement works fine in 32Bit environment.
SELECT * FROM OPENROWSET('MSDAORA','ORACLEDB';'Oracleuserid';'pa ssword','SELECT COUNT(*) FROM oratable')
Would appreciate any information you can provide to fix this problem. I checked the server for MSDAORA.dll and it is residing on the new 64 Bit machine - not sure why its not recognized.

Two node AO cluster setup.
I found errors frequently in cluster events at logs as below
"Cluster network interface 'Node1 - 10.X.XXX.1' for cluster node 'Node1' on network 'Cluster Network 1' failed. Run the Validate a Configuration wizard to check your network configuration. If the condition persists, check for hardware or software errors related to the network adapter. Also check for failures in any other network components to which the node is connected such as hubs, switches, or bridges."
How to fix this issues? is it missing any patch OS or cluster side?
Where would i find my particular database Error log file, Event log file and Trace file etc?

Hi All! Looking for some help with SQL errors.
We are using SQL 2005. Our server has been failing (service just stops responding) several times a week. We don't have a DB admin, just me, the developer, so please be patient.
I can view all the errors in the existing trace through the Profiler, but not sure how to follow error to query source.
How do you use the trace logs to find the problem query?
I have two significant errors in my logs. One is Hash Warning and the other is Missing Join Operand. I'm not interested in the general causes of these types of errors, that info has been easy to find.
I don't know how to link or otherwise associate a particular instance of an error in the trace logs to the query that caused it to determine the query that is causing the trouble.
The traces are already on the server. I've never created a new trace. I believe they are generated automatically by the server...
Can someone shed some light on how these existing traces are being generated and how I can modify them to include the data I need? When I open an existing trace on the server and view the properties, events tab, there appears to be no way to select the column "TextData" (no checkboxes) for the two errors we are seeing (listed above).
If the TextData column for the errors will allow me to see the offending query, can someone please tell me how to enable that column in my traces that are currently being generated on the server?

Hi i am a newbie in sql so any help would be appreciated. i have a serverlog table that initially had one server and different functions types, my sql query got a percentage of the execution times for the different functions and all worked well, however as soon as i put more servers in to the table i got the following error...

[DTS.Pipeline] Error: The PrimeOutput method on component "Flat File Source" (1) returned error code 0xC0202092. The component returned a failure code when the pipeline engine called PrimeOutput(). The meaning of the failure code is defined by the component, but the error is fatal and the pipeline stopped executing.

I have some code that calls a stored procedure on SQL Server 2005 using the Microsoft JDBC driver 1.1. The code normally works however, every once in a while an exception is thrown:

com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !, <,<=, >, >=, or when the subquery is used as an expression.
Generally, this has been resolved by restarting SQL Server 2005, but why is it showing up to being with?

Hi there. I work in a support department and on great occasion (such as this morning), I am RASd in to a client and try running a SQL trace, only to receive an error when setting it up, 'In order to run a trace against SQL Server you have to be amember of sysadmin fixed server role.'
Today, I even called their DBA and asked him if he could set our userid up with the proper permissions to all us to run traces (I'm debugging a RTE). He stated that he was unfamiliar with the error and didn't know where to assign us to resolve this problem.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Is there a dbcc flag that will capture all error messages in the log
e.g. when inserting data into a table, a PK violation occurs throwing, Msg 2627
..similar to trace flag 1222 to capture deadlock info..
