How can I print a field that is in the dataset on each page? I added a textbox in the Page Header and use =Fields!ProjectName.value in the value property. I got an error "Fields cannot used in page header and footer."
How can I have the table header shows on each page? Currently if the data goes to the second page, there is no table header.

I am using reporting services to build a report to show customer's balance statements. I need each page only show one customer and related transactions and balance etc.
Now it shows several customers' balance in one page, how can i change it to show only one record per one page, and also one customer per one page when print it out.

I created a report with a parameter. The parameter was created using a dataset in the report designer. This works fine. I deployed the report (webhost4life) and the report runs fine in the report manager. I am able to select my casenumber click on the default view report button and it works.
Problem: I embedd the report into an aspx page frmReports1.aspx. I call this page from another page (form). the frmReports.aspx page comes up and displays the default drop down list box with the casenumbers (fine). I select the casenumber and click on the view report button and NOTHING. I here the postbacks taking place but all that happens is the default value appears in the drop down list box and the toolbar shows. I checked permissions and everything is fine. I searched the forum and thought i found the solution with the inLine HTML and Async (still nothing) I can only think that something is not going right with the parameter. Here is my html, and code behind code. any help would be greatly apprcieated.

On my Home page I have a gridview that has Four columns: CustomerID, Product, Quantity, then a link (which appears on each row..called View). When a user clicks View on a particular row it will then send that particular CustomerID to the next page (CustomerProfile.aspx).
On the CustomerProfile.aspx page I have a textbox where the Customer Name should appear. How do I go about displaying the customer name in the textbox based on the CustomerID passed to the customerprofile.aspx page? Do I need to call a stored procedure? Do i need to call the Customer Table in my code?

I could return the Fiscal Year in a column from the data source, but the Fiscal Year would not populate if
no records were returned...Therefore, I must get the querystring parameter that was originally passed in...

Hi all,
I'm having an interesting problem. In my report, I use a table to show my data set. The borders of the table are giving me a hard time...
The problem is, I'm not being able to display the bottom border for a row, but only at the end of the page, causing the table containing multi paged report data to be seen inside a box. Just to be clear;
I don't want to display borders of each row
I don't want to display table footer in each page (Only on last page)
I've already tried to display page footer, top border. Its not the answer :D

I have one column in a matrix component and it has about 7 items, but the only the items which have values on the page appear at the top of that page.
This is for a labratory so the columns are the different Patient Types and the rows are the different Test Mnemonics. If one of the Patient Types is not used in any of the tests on that page, it doesnt show up. How to I make sure all Patient Types show up on every page?

I have a report that has 3 graphs and two tables that render to 5 pages in pdf. Some users should only get a subset of the 5 elements and some need all 5. When I set the Hidden property (in the designer or via a parameter) for any of the elements they become invisible but in pdf but the report still prints out a page for the hidden element. It works fine in the designer and rendered to html and excel but I get an extra page in pdf. it is like the hidden element still takes up the same amount of space but is just hidden.
Any help would be great.

I have a set of SSRS reports published on the server. It can be accessed through a web application or through SharePoint. Most of the reports work fine through both - web app and SharePoint. However, one of the report, which returns large amount of data has some problem:
1. It generates fine from web app
2. It generates fine from SharePoint; only if one or two values selected from Filter dropdown
3. However, if all items (about 20 items) selected from Filter dropdown... and click on View Report, it processes for a while and then shows nothing. The page remains blank.
Did some research and felt the problem is with Distributed Cache Service.
Tried restarting it; tried changing SPDistributedCacheClientSetting settings - requestTimeout, channelOpenTimeout... but didn't work.
I checked Event Viewer logs, SharePoint logs and SSRS logs but couldn't find any relevant error messages.

I am working on Sql server Reporting Services(Sql Server 2005),
i have designed a Report and deployed that report on Report Server, on this report i need to show the user selected values
in page header by using Parameters which i have already created in the Report.
There are 35 to 40 fields in the Front End(Asp.net2.0)
on passing all these values from front end Report is prompting for parameters which is not desired for my case even though i have made ShowParameterPrompts to false.

What I'm looking for is a sample of how to query a database, so that I can populate a listbox with the table names from a database - - and then, populate another listobx with the field names from the database, in order to build a user-driven sql statement builder....

I want to show 0, if the field contains NULL values.
I use the following expression.
=IIf(Fields!MTD_TotGrossBKCOAmt.Value = "NULL" , SUM(Fields!MTD_TotGrossBKCOAmt.Value), 0 )
But this works if the field contains only NULL values.
If it has a value, then it shows as #Error
Can anyone tell me how to make this work?

We have a web application (database) that uses one field called Application and another called TicketType.
When a user fills out a ticket they can choose up to 3 levels of this field.
Eg Application, Application2, Application3
Eg TicketType, TicketType2, TicketType3
The extra two levels not being compulsory.

I'm making address labels and within the table that I'm using there are 2 address fields called Address1 and Address2. The majority of the records do not use Address2, but some do. Is there an expression in VB that I can write so that if Address2 is blank, it will not show Address2?

What is the most efficient way to display the most recent value for each employee ID via MS SQL.?
Hey, i've written a query to search a database dependant on variables chosen by user etc etc. Opened up a new sqldatasource, entered the query shown below and went on to the test query page. Entered some test variables, everything works as it should do. Try to get it to show in a datagrid on a webpage - nothing. No data shows.

AFAIK I have configured the source to pick up the dropdownlist value and the textbox value (the text box is autopostback).
Am i not submitting the data correctly? (It worked with a simple query...just not with this one). I have tried a stored procedure which works when testing just not when its live on a webpage.

I am trying to script a case when to achieve the following.
I have a table of measures with certain threshold. The threshold direction can either be > or < so I want to create a field that shows if the measure hits that threshold or not to be later picked up in SSRS. So a nested case when?

I want to include a value from my result set in the header of my report but get the "You cannot reference a field value in the page header or footer" message. Here's why I want to do it:
The report uses three parameters: Date1, Date2 and Type. If Type is set to DATES the stored proc uses dates 1 and 2 as criteria to limit the returned records. Because Dates 1 and 2 are set in the report I can use the parameters collection to get those values and include them in the title of the report. If the Type paramter is set to MONTH, dates 1 and 2 are ignored and the stored proc determines what the dates are going to be using a UDF called from within the proc. The only way I could think of to get these calculated dates back from the proc was to insert them into the temp table it creates. Cheesy, I know... but I got the dates to the result set. Problem is I can't use them for what I need. So... to make a short question very long... how can I get the values in the result set into something I can use in the header or footer?

I am currently developing a backend SQL db for an ASP website. I am only learning, so quite new to it all & would appreciate some help with the following;
I currently have a form that updates a recordset in my SQL db. This is working fine, except for the fact that when the form loads and the db tries to write the field value into my text box, e.g. Address: 20 Harbour Drive, the field value is truncated at the space and it writes the address as 20 in the text box.
When I view the detail page, no problems, the recordset was updated, but when I go back to the update page, the record values are truncated again as though the ASP page thinks the space is some kind of delimiter?
The size property of my textbox element is the same as the varchar datatype size in the SQL table.
Can anyone help?

Hello,I've been searching the web for quite some time to resolve the problemof "1/1/1900" returning in a datetime field in SQL that resulted from ablank (not NULL) value being passed to it through an ASP page.The solution is that a NULL value needs to passed to SQL from ASP.Thats fine...I understand the why the problem is happening and thesolution around it. HOWEVER, I can't seem to get the proper syntax towork in the ASP page. It seems no matter what I try the "1/1/1900"still results. Below are a few variations of the code that I havetried, with the key part being the first section. The best I have managed is: CONVERT (varchar(17),DATE,113) AS Date1 but this still leaves me with:

I have created one reports but all the records are displaying on one page.find a solution to display the records page by page. I created the same report without group so the records are displaying in page by page.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHello I have a project that uses a large number of MS Data access pages created in Access 2003 and runs on MS SQL2005.
When I am on lets say my client, (first page in a series) data access page and I have completed the fields in the (DAP), I am directing my users to the next step of the registration process by means of a hyperlink to another Data access page in the same web but in a linked or sometimes different table.
I need to pass data entered /created on the first page to the next page and populate the next page with some data from the first page / table. (like staying on the client name and ID when i go to the next page)
I also need the first data access page to open and display a blank or new record. Not an existing record. I will also be looking to creata a drop down box as a record selector.
Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.
I am some what new to data access pages so a walk through would be nice but anything you got is welcome. Thanks Peter€¦

I have two problems.
1. I downloaded ChartFXRSTrial and created one chart, and able to deploy it in ReportServer, but the problem is the reports are not showing there, i checked the configuration of .dll files in the help provided by chartFX, but couldn't get anything, so could help me on this.
2. How to give Tooltip for the X- axis or Y- axis values in the ReportServer , i tried using chartproperties of .rdl file, but didnt understand it. can help me on this, and one more i tried with Dundas too, If im giving tooltip as #valy then, it is showing samething in reportserver instead the values of 'Y-axis'.

The following objects are placed on the Report body of the Report pane of SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services :

<textbox: string1> - considered as the Title in the Footer section of the report
<texbox:string2> <textbox:expression3>
<textbox:string3> <textbox:expression4>
<textbox:string4> <textbox:expression5>
<textbox:expression6>
I can't find any explanation why is it string1 and string 2 of the footer section of my report displayed separately from the expression3 which is aligned on it and the rest of the object on the second page.
The expected design is that all Footer items should be displayed together of whether it is placed on the first page or on the last page.
As a workaround of this, I converted string 1 into an expression (Added = and enclosed the string with double quote).. As a result, all of the items in the Footer section are now placed together on the last page of the report.
I also remember one of the issue I encountered before where the Footer items where placed together on the first page and still have space at the bottom of the page, but then expression 6 is forced to display (alone) on the last page of my report.
I can't find any discussion related to this, I wish somebody could give me an idea why RS behaved like this.

Fit an intere table in same page without page break for save the excel export.
My table has a Group for order my dates.
I need to have the intere table in the same page, i don't care about blank space at the end of the page.
I can't use the page break beacuse i need an excel export in a unique sheet..
I have tested.. every page break..you'll have a different sheet in your excel export
