Operand Type Clash - Int Is Incompatible With Date

Apr 18, 2013

I'm getting this error when trying to insert data into a table.

"Operand type clash: int is incompatible with date"

This is the SQL I used to create the table:

Code:
CREATE TABLE customers(
customer_id int IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
member_yn char(1) NOT NULL,
membership_number int NOT NULL,
date_became_member date NOT NULL,

[Code]....

This is the SQL I am using to add data: (Note that there are two dates in each line, scroll to the side.)

Code:
INSERT INTO customers VALUES ('y', 156, 2010-08-29, 'John', 'Smith', '1235 Main Street, Dunmore, PA 18512', 6963287654, 'jsmith@hotmail.com', 1986-06-23);
INSERT INTO customers VALUES ('y', 159, 04/15/2011, 'Mary', 'Jones', '235 Ardmore Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15221', 3429831594, 'jones_mary@gmail.com', 01/12/1992);

Each of the lines above to add data uses a different data format because I tried both, while commenting out the other, hoping for the problem to go away with the change in format.

Here is the SQL code to create a primary key for this table:

Code:
ALTER TABLE customers ADD CONSTRAINT pk_customers PRIMARY KEY (customer_id);

Operand Type Clash: Nvarchar Is Incompatible With Image

Oct 4, 2006

I uploading an image from a web page into Sql Server 2000 database. I call a stored procedure with the parameter @Flag of type Image. When I tried to pass a null value to this parameter I got the error:"Operand type clash: nvarchar is incompatible with image".I was adding the parameter like this:sqlCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Flag", DBNull.Value); After trying few different things I found a workaround using the following:sqlCmd.Parameters.Add("@Flag", SqlDbType.Image);sqlCmd.Parameters["@Flag"].Value = DBNull.Value;Possibly a bug in the SqlCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue method ?

Client Found Response Content Type Of 'text/html; Charset=utf-8', But Expected 'text/xml'.

Aug 29, 2007

Hi,

I am getting these errors from Report Manager. It seems that every time after the server has been idling for about 15 minutes, I would get this error message. I can click on other links and I am able to continue to use Report Manager.

Is there a timeout setting to help me resolve this or is this a bug with Report Manager? I just insitalled SP2 on the SQL Server and the Reporting Service.

Error message on browser:

Text Is Getting Cut After 1.4k Letters In Text Data Type

Oct 26, 2007

Hello all,
started working on a website in ASP that use mssql, i am trying to store large ammount of text, for now its just 10kk letters, the data type is set to text in the mssql db, but when i read it back from the db, i only get 7.7k letters, i know its not an ASP problem cause i print the var holding the content before storing it in the db.

my question is, is there a way to change the text length limit in mssql, or use another data type?

Thanks,
Gilad Darshan

EDIT: forgot its saving the html source with the style and not only the words. fixed to the right amount of letters

A Text-type Value To A Date-type Value

Hi
Is it possibly in SqlDataSource's SelectCommad to convert a text-type value to a date-type value (11/1/2008 (text) -> 11/1/2008 (date) ) , so that order by can be used. Or is the other ways to use order by correctly with text-type (date)values
Thanks.

Convert Text Data Type To Smalldatetime Data Type

Oct 9, 2007

I have a field that is currently stored as the data type nvarchar(10), and all of the data in this field is in the format mm/dd/yyyy or NULL. I want to convert this field to the smalldatetime data type. Is this possible?
I've tried to use cast in the following way, (rsbirthday is the field name, panelists is the table), but to no avail.

SELECT rsbirthday CAST(rsbirthday AS smalldatetime)

FROM panelists

the error returned is "incorrect syntax near 'rsbirthday'.

I'm rather new to all things SQL, so I only have the vaguest idea of what I'm actually doing.

Thanks for the help!

Text Data Type

Jun 17, 2002

Hi All,
In the SQL Server documentation, it is said that, the text data type will contain upto 2GB size. I assumed it will save upto 2GB. But what happened is, it saves only 255 characters all others were truncated. Is there anything wrong with me? Or the wrong is with the SQL Server?

Thanks,
Amjath

When I assign data type as "text", its field length is automated determined
as 4 ( I don't know what's the unit for 4). But this length is short for my
application.
Why does this occur? And how can I solve the problem?
Thanks!

Text Data Type

Mar 23, 2008

I'm having a bit of a problem with this data type. It is supposed to be able to store about 2,147,483,647 characters, but when I enter more than about 1,834 characters no more charaters can be stored.

Has anyone experienced this and knows how to allow up to the 2,147,483,647 characters. Is it anything to do with another SQL Server setting or variable that needs to be changed

Thank you in advance for helping on this.

Regards
