Then on the Advanced Menu of .Net Script task I input tbl1 as my ReadOnlyVariable. But once in the design view of the .Net Script I am unable to get and work with every row of the my tbl1 variable.

Access Dataset In Custom Code

For setting different languages on the column haeders i need to access a dataset from a custom code function call. I want to pass a parameter to the function that will allow me to find a specific item in the dataset - like a lookup function. I cannot find a way to get access to the entire dataset and to iterate through its components.
Is there any solution? Every hint will be helpful!

Custom Data Processing Extension With Dataset
Feb 8, 2007I have been getting to grips with writing a custom data processing extension for using a supplied dataset. I have got it working OK so far, but I don't see how to make use of relational data. There's plenty of code for walking through the fields, but nothing to walk through the tables. Since this clearly has to be possible can someone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Images With Custom DataSet Passed To SSRS Not Displaying

Hi,
I'm developing an ASP.NET application that creates on-demand reports with Reporting Services 2005 in report server.
I use a custom data set that contains the data that I want to bind to the report, and I use a WebService to pass that DataSet to the reporting services to accomplish my purpose.
The query passed to the reporting services is:

This works well and all the fields are displayed in the report fine except the Image Fields, that are not showing (the red X appears instead of the image).
The issue is that all the data that is bind to the dataset is contained in a SQL Server 2005 database, and the Image column in the table of that database is a VARBINARY(MAX) field (I insert the image into the database table).
Also, when I created the dataset in .NET, the column type of the dataset I declared for the Image field was Byte[], but that didn't work for me. I've also tried to declare as the field type Byte,SqlByte,Image,SqlBinary, etc without succesfull results.
I've also tried creating a XML Schema, declaring the Image field as base64Binary, then do DataSet.ReadXMLSchema(myschema) and then retrievied the data from sql server and filled the dataset, Again, the Images doesn`t display.
For finnishing my unsatisfactory tests, I've also tried to handle the image data with a MemoryStream object:

Well... As I said in other topics, I'm doing a clustering plugin for text mining. I'm facing many problems and, with your help, solving them one by one.
First of all, thanks a lot again.
Well... I've made a clustering function that is actually working very well. But I'm exporting its results to a log file I use as an algorithm trace for debugging.
My clustering method returns a vector containing information of what cluster each register belongs. For instance:
vector[0] = 1 -> The register of index 0 belongs to cluster 1.
vector[1] = 9 -> The register of index 1 belongs to cluster 9.
vector[2] = 2 -> The register of index 2 belongs to cluster 2.
...
And so on.
But... I know that none of the Navigation methods receives a structure like this one discribed above. I only use it to log the results to debug the algorithm.
But how to pass this information (what register (or test case) belongs to what cluster) to the Navigation ?

Pass Dataset To TaskScript From Variable, And Be Cleared After The Taskscript.

Hi, firends,please look at this:
Prepare:
1.prepare a SQLTask component, and read a table by it, return the result in an Variable Object(RegionDim).
2.Pass the Variable into a Taskscript component. In the Script, write this:
Public dtRegion As New DataTable
Public daRegion As New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter
daRegion.Fill(dtRegion, Dts.Variables("RegionDim").Value)
3.Use dtRegion in the script. It's OK.
Problem:
After the TaskScript, the RegionDim is be cleared in fact. So I can't use it in other places, and need to read the table again.
I think the "daRegion.Fill(dtRegion, Dts.Variables("RegionDim").Value)" mark the RegionDim as the dtRegion, and the dtRegion is a variable scoped inside the Script, which will be distroyed after the Script. So the RegionDim is cleared.
How to avoid this?

Let me fitst say that I have found this forum to be VERY good and the members have an excelent knowledgebase.
I am very impressed and appreciate all of the help.
I have a table in my SQL database that I need to modify a little and which contains a lot of data.
My question is in wondering if it is possible to write a function that would loop through all of the rows in a particular column field and update the values?
What I mean is that I have a few columns (fields) in that table that hold numeric values like (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, .......) and I need to loop through all of the entries in that table to add 10000 to each one and store the results back into that same table.
Example is to replace 1 >> 10001, 2 >> 10002, 3 >> 10003, etc.....
Could some one please tall me how this can be done and what I need to do?

Hi, I am trying to incorporate a cursor into a table function so that i can use the function to insert values inot a table. Everytime i add the INSERT INTO @MyTable syntax then the cursor seems to start an endless loop.

Don't know if this is possible or not - Need to produce a report and the main report has a grid in it.
For every row in the main report, in one of the grid fields there are n images. So to do this, I am using a sub-report. But there is a problem with going to the database for every row to fetch images that if the user does a report spanning more than about 6 months, there will be thousands of records each with the potential to have many images and the constant round trips to the db server would probably kill it.
So what I want to achieve is to fetch the dataset in the main report with just one trip to the database and then pass the dataset filtered by a uniqueidentifier to each row of the subreport.
Could someone please let me know if this or something like it is possible and how to go about it?

This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. In other words, I'd like the results of dataset6 to show me the property id's that are contained in the AUDITS table but which are not being pulled into dataset1. Both tables are in the same database.

I want this to return the CLOBs for the small number of rows in Table 1. The PK is indexed obviously so it should be a fast look up.
Table 1 and Table 2 live on different Oracle databases. How do I perform this operation efficiently in SSIS? It seems the Lookup and Merge Join wont do this.

Expression Editor On Custom Properties On Custom Data Flow Component

I've created a Custom Data Flow Component and added some Custom Properties.
I want the user to set the contents using an expression. I did some research and come up with the folowing:

But it doesn't work, if I enter @[System:ackageName] in the field. It comes out "@[System:ackageName]" instead of the actual package name.
I'm also unable to find how I can tell the designer to show the Expression editor. I would like to see the elipses (...) next to my field.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

At runtime,
The first one is responsible to set a valid date in @[User::varCurrentDate] variable. (the date is 2007-01-15)
The second one contains my custom data flow component with my custom property that was set to an expression at design time
When my component get executed, my custom property value is still "DB189912189912.VER" and I expected "DB200701200701.VER"
Any idea ?

I have a stored procedure attached below. It returns 2 rows in the SQL Management studio when I execute MyStorProc 0,28. But in my program which uses ADOHelper, it returns a dataset with tables.count=0.
if I comment out the line --If @Status = 0 then it returns the rows. Obviously it does not stop in
if @Status=0 even if I pass @status=0. What am I doing wrong?

I read the documentation and it says if we set the ExpressionType to CPET_NOTIFY, it should work, but it does not seem to work. Not sure if I am missing anything. Can someone please help me?
This is what I did in the custom task
customProperty.ExpressionType = DTSCustomPropertyExpressionType.CPET_NOTIFY;
In the Editor of my custom task, under custom properties section, I expected a button with 3 dots, to click & pop-up so we can specify the expression or at least so it evaluates the variables if we give @[User::VaraibleName]
Any help on this will be very much appreciated.

How To Transfer Data From One Dataset To Other Dataset
Apr 11, 2008i have two datasets.one dataset have old data from some other database.second dataset have original data from sql server 2005 database.both database have same field having id as a primary key.i want to transfer all the data from first dataset to new dataset retaining the previous data but if old dataset have the same id(primary key) as in the new one then that row will not transfer.
but if the id(primary key) have changed values then the fields updated with that data.how can i do that.

I have two datasets in my report, D1 and D2.
D1 is a list of classes with classid and title
D2 is a list of data. each row in D2 has a classid. D2 may or may not have all the classids in D1. all classids in D2 must be in D1.
I want to show fields in D2 and group the data with classids in D1 and show every group as a seperate table. If no data in D2 is available for a classid, It shows a empty table.
Is there any way to do this in RS2005?
