Hi all ,
What is the best solution for reading/writing Persian Date from/into SQL Server 2005 and do calculations on it?Note That I connect to sql server database from a .Net App.
Any help would be appreciated .
Thanks in advance.
Dose SQL Server Integration Service support Farsi (Persian) language?
I passed a column of a Farsi text database to Term Extraction component put it didn't send anything to output (destination).
I even use CodePageConvert (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9E56417E-23D1-4FD3-8D6D-61314FAA2DE3&displaylang=en) between Source and Term Extraction, it seems that it converted the text but still nothing comes from the Term Extraction.
Sample input for Term Extraction component: به بوی نا?های کاخر صبا زان طره بگشاید ز تاب جعد مشکینش چه خون ا?تاد در دلها مرا در منزل جانان چه امن عیش چون هر دم جرس ?ریاد میدارد که بربندید محملها
I have soma ado.net code that inserts 7 parameters in a database ( a date, 6 integers). I also use a self incrementing ID but the date is set as primary key because for each series of 6 numbers of a certain date there may only be 1 entry. Moreover only 1 entry of 6 integers is possible for 2 days of the week, (tue and fr). I manage to insert a row of data in the database, where the date is set as smalldatetime and displays as follows: 1/05/2007 0:00:00 in the table. I want to retrieve the series of numbers for a certain date that has been entered (without taking in account the hours and seconds). A where clause seems to be needed but I don’t know the syntax or don’t find the right function I use the following code to insert the row :
and the following code to get the row back (to put in arraylist):
“SELECT C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 FROM Series WHERE (LDate = Today())? WHERE LDate = '" + DateTime.Today.ToString() + "'"
Which is the correct syntax? Is there a better way to insert and select based on the date?
I don’t get any error messages and the code executes fine but I only get an empty datatable in my dataset (the table isn’t looped for rows I noticed while debugging). Today’s date is in the database but isn’t found by my tsql code I think.

Hello Everyone, thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm creating a view in SQL Server 2005 to base a report on Crystal Reports XI. I've been trying to figure out how I can convert a date field in the format YYYYMMDD to MM/DD/YYYY. I'm not quite sure about the steps I need to take to accomplish this since I'm pretty new to this. The date is stored as an Int on the database, and I've tried converting it directly to the DATETIME data type like this: CONVERT(DATETIME, datefield,101) but I'm getting an error saying illegal data type conversion. Thanks a lot for your help, I really appreciate it.
does anybody know when SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 3 will be released?
We are currently encountering a lot of problems with replication. We have seen that the different SP2 Cumulative Updates are fixing a lot of replication troubles... but as they are not fully tested, we do not want to install them on our production servers.

I wrote a function and a SQL to get the 3 columns Date,Total Orders & Amount, for dates between Date Started and Date Completed if I pass different Dates in the SQL I get the correct result but if I pass same dates then I don't get the result I am looking for .For Instance,if I give Date From=1/02/2008 ;Date To=1/8/2008(Different dates )I am getting values for all the three columns. But I give same dates for Date From=01/02/2008 ;Date To=01/02/2008 then I am not getting the records. Some how I could not trace what could be the error in my SQL /Function.I appreciate if I could get some work around for this. Thanks! i wish to set a date data type to a column "Date". when i use datetime format, the values is inserted in the U.S. date & time format. i want the values to be in the british english format. i.e dd/mm/yyyy only and does not require time value. can any one help me to insert the date values in the british english format
Greetings,I have an e-timesheet application.i made a function that takes the startdate of the week:public SqlDataReader GetProjectsActive(DateTime SheetDate) { SqlConnection myConnection = new SqlConnection(ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["connectionString"]); SqlCommand myCommand = new SqlCommand("GetProjectsActive", myConnection); myCommand.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; SqlParameter parameterSheetDate = new SqlParameter("@SheetDate", SqlDbType.DateTime); parameterSheetDate.Value = SheetDate; myCommand.Parameters.Add(parameterSheetDate); myConnection.Open(); SqlDataReader dr = myCommand.ExecuteReader(CommandBehavior.CloseConnection); return dr; } i run the application and i pass the value 6/1/2008 (date without time) to the GetProjectsActive but what i notice that the storedprocedure adds the current time to the passsed date when it has been executed so some projects will not appear since the startdate and enddate of the project are only dates so i try this solution: parameterSheetDate.Value = SheetDate.Date;and it works finebut my question why the current time has been added to the storedprocedure automatically although i pass only the date 6/1/2008 date????your help is highly appreciated.Best regards.

I am using Access 2003 as a front-end to a SQL Server 2005 database.I make design changes using SQL Server Management Studio. I have atable that includes a datetime column. I create a view and sort bythe datetime field. When I initially look at the result it is sortedcorrectly. Then I save the view and re-open it and it is not sorted.I've simplified the view so it only contains the date field and itstill does not sort. Here is the view:SELECT TOP (100) PERCENT Period_DateFROM dbo.Period_SummaryORDER BY Period_Date DESCThe date seems to be a random order.I don't have this problem in the SQL Server 2000 version of thedatabase.Help please! Thanks,Jerry
I was wondering, is it really true that in Sql Server 2005, there is no updated date -property for stored procedures? There is a created date -property, but it's not useful, because stored procedure's get updated often. This is a huge disadvantage for me, and I was really waiting for ms to fix this problem after sql server 2000, but no. Does anyone figured out any solution to this problem?
Is the Date/Time of the latest SQL Server 2005 instance restart stored somewhere in the system catalog? This value is quite relevant when retrieving information on the costliest unused indexes in the instance.
I know of one way of doing this, which is to search the SQL Logs for this info. This solution is very unwieldy - we recycle the logs daily and we only keep the logs of the last 7 days.
Hello, My problem is with Validating Date parameter filed, when I user enters wrong (assume user is entering date instead of selecting from date picker). Where following are scenarios I would like to validate. When user enters non-date. When user enters 30/feb/yyyy.When user enters 29/feb/yyyy. (for non-leap year). When user enters 31/mm/yyyy. (for months does not includes day 31)
Could you explain in a little more detail how to accomplish this?
Any one please tell me is there any possible way to identify the table modified date.
I have checked the table created date from sysobjects or by right click properties. my requirement is to identify the exact date of table modification and column creation, alter dates. Is there any such provision in sql server 2000 or 2005 , My application is in sql server 2000.
I need to confirm this because some database structure modification has affected my application and causing dataloss i need to check with the date of structural change of table and lost data date can any one help
We are trying to move our application from SQL2005 to SQL2005, we are using 2005 jdbc driver 1.1.
The problem we have is, when a date is retrieved from the database, only the year part got correctly, but the date is automatically set to January 1 of that year. The interesting thing is this problem doesn't occur on local development environment (developer's windows platform), it only happens when we deploy the application to production server (unix).

To find continuous date, you look at the beginning date in row 1 and end date in row 2, then if no break in dates, row 2 beginning date to row 3 end date, if no break continue until last date There could multiple dates up to 12 which I have to check for "no break" in dates, if break, display beginning date of last continuous date.
I want to compare two columns in the same table called start date and end date for one clientId.if clientId is having continuous refenceid and sartdate and enddate of reference that I don't need any caseopendate but if clientID has new reference id and it's start date is not continuous to its previous reference id then I need to set that start date as caseopendate.
So I have to build dynamic T-SQL because of a date parameter that will be provided. The Date Parameter will be provided in SSRS in normal MM/DD/CCYY format. So how do I then convert that date to my Oracle format
Hi, Basically the above is a very common requirement, please comment on my solution which I've arrived at by searching through the web; -
In summary I have used 3 SSIS components these are "Flat File Source", "Derived Column" and "SQL Server Destination".
1) File Connections Manager Editor 1.1) Within File Connections Manager Editor; - Name the data type e.g. "INTERCHANGE_NET_APP_DATE_SRC" and assign a type to the data type e.g. string[DT_STR]
1.2) Click on the Preview button to ensure the expected text is assigned to the expected data type.
2.4) Select "database timestamp [DT_DBTIMESTAMP] " as Data Type.
2.5) Within the Mappings tab of the SQL Destination Editor have; - Input Column as INTERCHANGE_NET_APP_DATE and Destination Column as INTERCHANGE_NET_APP_DATE.
Please comment on the above, I will then pass on my suggestion to Microsoft.
I have a query to run a report where the results has a column named “Due Date” which holds a date value based on the project submission date. Now, I need to add 4 columns named, “45 Days Expectant”, “30 Days Overdue”, “60 Days Overdue” and “90 Days Overdue”.I need to do a calculation based on the “Due Date” and “System (I mean default computer date) Date” that if “System Date” is 45 days+ to “Due Date” than put “Yes” in “45 Days Expectant” row.
Also, if “Due Date” is less than or equal to system date by 30 days, put “Yes” in “30 Days Overdue” and same for the 60 and 90 days.how to write this Case Statement? I have some answers how to do it in SSRS (Report Designer) but I want to get the results using T-SQl.
I'm writing a view to check record counts in a table that has numerous datasets and therefore various "Activity Dates". Is it possible as part of the SQL statement to have a CASE statement for example so that it can identify the field to use as the activity date?
The field to use is being identified using a seperate table so at the moment I have CASE WHEN FieldToUse = '2' THEN MapCol ELSE '[Activity_Date]' END, where FieldToUse = '2' identifies the date field to use and the MapCol data is the field name to be used as the activity date.
I am writing a ASP.NET C# web application. I will need to store the date in one field in one of my tables. It appears that I need to use the datetime data type for the date in SQL Server 2005. So I have a question 1.) How do I get today's date in C# and how should this be passed to SQL server?
HiI am using SQL 2005, VB 2005I am trying to insert a record using parameters using the following code as per MotLey suggestion and it works finestring insertSQL; insertSQL = "INSERT INTO Issue(ProjectID, TypeofEntryID, PriorityID ,Title, Area) VALUES (@ProjectID, @TypeofEntryID, @PriorityID ,@Title, @Area)"; cmdInsert SqlCommand; cmdInsert=new SqlCommand(insertSQL,conn); cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("@ProjectID",SqlDbType.Varchar).Value=ProjectID.Text; My query is how to detail with dates my previous code wasinsertSQL += "convert(datetime,'" + DateTime.Now.ToString("dd/MM/yy") + "',3), '";I tried the code below but the record doesn't save?string date = DateTime.Now.ToString("dd/MM/yy"); insertSQL = "INSERT INTO WorkFlow(IssueID, TaskID, TaskDone, Date ,StaffID) VALUES (@IDIssue, @IDTask, @TaskDone, convert(DateTime,@Date,3),@IDStaff)"; cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDIssue", SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDIssue.ToString();cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDTask",SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDTask.Text;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("TaskDone",SqlDbType.VarChar).Value = TaskDoneTxtbox.Text;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("Date",SqlDbType.DateTime).Value = date;cmdInsert.Parameters.Add("IDStaff",SqlDbType.Int).Value = IDStaff.Text;Could someone point to me in the right direction? Thanks in advance
I have 2 tables, one is table A which stores Resources Assign to work for a certain period. The structure is as below
Name StartDate EndDate Tan 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Max 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Alan 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 2015-04-02 00:30:00.000
The table B stores the item process time. The structure is as below
Item ProcessStartDate ProcessEndDate V 2015-04-01 09:30:10.000 2015-04-01 09:34:45.000 Q 2015-04-01 10:39:01.000 2015-04-01 10:41:11.000 W 2015-04-01 11:44:00.000 2015-04-01 11:46:25.000 A 2015-04-01 16:40:10.000 2015-04-01 16:42:45.000 B 2015-04-01 16:43:01.000 2015-04-01 16:45:11.000 C 2015-04-01 16:47:00.000 2015-04-01 16:49:25.000
I need to select the item which process in 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and 2015-04-01 17:30:00. Beside that I need to know how many resource is assigned to process the item in that period of time. I only has the start date is 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and end date is 2015-04-01 17:30:00. How I can select the data from both tables. There is no need for JOIN, just seperate selections.
Another item process time is in 2015-04-01 10:00:00 and 2015-04-04 11:50:59.
The result expected is
Table A
Name StartDate EndDate Alan 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 2015-04-02 00:30:00.000
Table B
Item ProcessStartDate ProcessEndDate A 2015-04-01 16:30:10.000 2015-04-01 16:32:45.000 B 2015-04-01 16:33:01.000 2015-04-01 16:35:11.000 C 2015-04-01 16:37:00.000 2015-04-02 16:39:25.000
Scenario 2 expected result
Table A
Name StartDate EndDate Tan 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000 Max 2015-04-01 08:30:00.000 2015-04-01 16:30:00.000
I have a job in SQL 2005 that when it runs works fine if I hard code the Makedate, what I need it to do is have the Makedate equal todays date minus one day...I came up with the code below, but that does seem to work...any thoughts. INSERT INTO abcTransaction( Payee, Payment, AccountNumber)SELECT 'Credit', SUM(Rebate * Quantity), A.AccountNumberFROM Account AINNER JOIN abdTrades T on A.AccountNumber = T.AccountNumber Where MakeDate = getDate() - 1 GROUP BY A.AccountNumber
