Problem Of Adding Trusted Accounts To Reporting Services: 'Some Or All Identity References Could Not Be Translated'

Hi
I created a new database called "TestReportServer" as mentioned in the installation instruction but I didn't
see (or could select) the option "Create the report server database in SharePoint integrated mode".
How can I select this option? Do I need to remove the reporing services and reinstall it again? Any suggestions?
After creating the database I get the error 'Some or all identity references could not be translated'.
The user I selected is a local administrator and has permission to all groups starting with wss.
I guess the database is not created as a sharepoint integration mode as I can start Server Management Studio
and see the database. Is that a correct assumption?
I hope somebody out there can help as I am strating to bang my head towards my desk right now :-)

Seems only a few of us are experimenting with WSS 3.0 and RSS 2005 (requires sp2 ctp). I've gotten just so far after battling several installation problems. Only Brian Welcker and Spyuta (sp?) have been active here or on their blogs about this. While the instructions are good at the RSS addin for sharepoint page, http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/2/5/f250ed72-c102-4216-8653-63189e24fa02/readme_rsaddin.htm, there are some notable word mismatches. Under the section "Install the Reporting Services Add-in and Configure the Report Server on the SharePoint Technology Instance" they refer to granting accounts access to the database, which is labelled, 'add trusted accounts'.
This is as far as I can go because within that step there is a dialog prompting for credentials and no matter what I use, domain, local, whatever, the page displays a warning in red above the server name that says 'Some or all identity references could not be translated' And so it seems that is where I'm stuck.
If I change the server name in the page to an IP number, then I get this warning instead:
Report Server is not running on the same machine as SharePoint and Report Server is configured to run as a machine account. This is not a supported configuration in CTP2
Both of these assumptions are untrue. My report server is running side by side, and I have changed the port number in the rsconfig file. I try using the port number along with the ip number or machine name, but then I just get:
A connection to the computer cannot be established
Banging my head on this long enough, I now go back to the 'Integration setttings' page and change the authentication mode from Windows authentication to Trusted account. Now I redo the 'Add trusted account' page and it seems to go through without an issue. (whoa, I just ignored the directions and did the opposite)
I check the domain account used as service account for all of the above and I see it has been granted dbo and RSExecRole for the WSS/RS integrated database.
Now I can move ahead and actually see how the RSS integration with WSS 3.0 works. Of particular interest is deploying already created reports that I had appearing in the report manager web app before creating the integrated RSS database.

I am just wondering if i can control the access of range of variables from users' logins.
To be more specific, if i a parameter alpha has five values (1,2,3,4,5) and then i have 3 users A, B C, what i need is:
1. A can access Vaues(1, 3)
2. B can access Values (2, 4)
3. C can access Values(3,5)
Is there anyway i can do this either from the stored procedure i am getting the data or i can do it on SSIS development side?

How do you add a reference if the assembly you want to reference does not live in C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727? It doesn't seem to make sense that you cannot access the connections the AquireConnection() method serves since the interfaces are defined in Microsoft.SQLServer.DTSRuntimeWrap.dll (in C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90SDKAssemblies).
For example the code below works fine, in order to make it work I had to copy DTSRuntimeWrap.dll to v2.0.50727, surely any assembly which is been added to the GAC should be available as a referece?

I'm installing TFS on W2k3 R2 with MSQL2005
Finishing the TFS setup, I got this message:
"Error 29112. Team Foundation Report Server Configuration: Report Server is not properly configured or the Reporting Services Web site could not be reached. Use the Report Server Configuration tool to confirm that Report Server is configured properly and that Reporting Service Web site can be founda before running the installation again. For more information see the Team Foundation Installation Guide."
Then, I go to the SQL Report Configuration page and I see the error in Web Reports Site configuration.
But trying to configuring I got this message:
"ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: A virtual directory must first be created before performing this operation.
at ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerAdmin.SetWebServiceIdentity(String applicationPool)"
Any idea? I created the Virtual Directorys and application pools but something I'm missing cause I still getting this same error trying to configure the Web Report Service.

I'm using Reporting Services Configuration tool to add the Reporting and ReportingTemb databases. Once the have been created, the tool attempts to upgrade the databases and can not create a script. This are the errors I see from the from the Reporting Services Configuration Tool after creating the databases:
! Verifing Database Version
The Database version (C.0.8.40) does not match your Reporting Services installation. You must upgrade your Reporting Services database.
! Creating upgrade script for database version C.0.8.40
ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.WMIProviderException: The version does not match a supported version.
at ReportServicesConfigUI.WMIProvider.RSReportServerAdmin.GenerateDatabaseUpgradeScript(String databaseName, String serverVersion, String& script)
I've reinstalled the entire SQL Server 2005 installation. As part of company installation precodure, SQL 2005 w/o Reporting Services is installed first, followed by SP1. I then perform the SQL Reporting Services installation add-on.

HI,
Is there an easy way to install reporting services on a machine that is already running sp1? When I initially isntalled Sql Server I did not install ssrs. Now, SP1 is installed and when I run the setup tool to install ssrs, it warns me regarding a "version change", presumablly because my media is not sp1, but RTM. Any ideas?

I have a field on my report that uses the following expression to determine the commission amount for each order line. It works correctly to get the commission amount for each line, however, I need to get a total of the commission amount for each Salesperson.
My report is grouped in the following manner:
Salesperson, Type of Sale, Invoice Number, then the detail invoice line items (where the formula below reside). How can I get the totals for the Salesperson and the Type of Sale?

After adding cascading parameters my report which was running earlier is failing. I'm using Report builder 3.0, windows 2008r2, am running the report from the server
Error message "An error has occurred during report processing.(rsProcessingAborted)
Query execution failed for dataset 'LastName' (rsErrorExecutinGcOMMAND)
Incorrect Syntax near ','."
Is there a way where i can look up the code in xml using report builder or some other way so that i can delete the extra '','.

I typically use Report Designer, but I have a new project requiring Report Builder 3.0. In Report Designer (BIDS), I can take more complex expressions (ie SWITCH with 5 or 6 options), and put each pairing on a new line to be able to better read the code.
In the Expression Editor in Report Builder, pressing the ENTER key on my keyboard closes the Expression dialog box and saves the changes.
Is there any way to add line returns in the code to make it more readable? The expression editor wraps when it runs out of room, but this doesn't make it more readable, in some cases, it wraps in the middle of a field name, making it even less readable.
The 2012 version also has this same "feature".

I am creating a subscription to deliver reports via email on SSRS. One of the problems I am having is I can't add groups to the To: or Cc: fields for report distribution. I am able to add individual user email which works fine but it will be a lot of emails to add if I have to go that route. So how do you add groups to report subscriptions?

I've successfully created a column bar graph that shows the availability (0-100%) for a given site for each month YTD. I would like to have fixed lines added to the graph across all the columns at the 99.0 and 99.99% marks to show where we've reached and surpassed these key service levels.
I can't seem to find any examples on how to do this. The line drawing tool doesn't always line up with the graph correctly when it's displayed so I was looking for a data point at those levels.

I wouls like to have a custom button called "Set" in the report toolbar in addition to the "View Report" button. I am aware of the fact that the look and feel of the existing controls on the toolbar can be customised or can be hidden using HtmlViewer.css. Is there any code which I can tweak to add buttons or images on the report toolbar?

I have a report which takes around 5 seconds when run in BIDS but takes around 20 seconds when deployed on report server.Execution log says TimeDataRetrieval is around 3-4 seconds and rendering time is around 15-17 secs.From this report I am passing 8 parameters to a drill through report and there are 36 text boxes where I have defined these parameters for drill through action.All these parameters are populated in main dataset.When I deployed the same report without any drill through action and parameter, it takes 5 seconds.So I am suspecting that because of drill through parameters report is taking more rendering time on server.I am using 2008R2 and IE11.
Is it expected behavior that due to so many parameters for drill through action, report will take more rendering time?If yes, then why is it not taking same time in BIDS?

I've a slight problem with configuring my Report Server. I have set up everything apart from the initialisation and and the Windows Service Identity, however when I select the panel for the latter I am presented with a message box displaying the following:
" Reporting Services Configuration Manager:
There was an error while switching panels. The most likely cause is an error retreiving WMI properties. The exception details are:
InvalidArgument=Value of '1' is not valid for 'SelectedIndex'.
Parameter name: SelectedIndex "
I have tried re-installing the entire SQL server setup and this made no difference, I followed this by removing then reinstalling just the Report Service. Still nothing.
Any ideas as to what it is doing and how I should go about fixing it?

I have created a custom library(CodeLibrary) which internally references the dlls Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Client and Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.
I added this custom Dll codelibrary.dll to my SSRS report. and the expression of one of the field as
=codelibrary.codefunction.GetValue(1000)
codefunction is the class and GetValue is the method.
When I preview the report, I get the error "Error while loading code module:
'CodeLibrary,Version=1.0.0.0,Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null'. Could not load file or assembly 'CodeLibrary,Version1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
I am using VS2013, I have placed the custom library DLL in the path
C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 12.0Common7IDEPrivateAssemblies
I have tested the custom library with a WPF application and it works fine.
I am not able to figure out what is causing this error.

We have an existing SSRS server, and have just created a new child domain. We'll be migrating users from the parent to the child, and want to add the users of that new domain with access to SSRS. In the parent domain they are able to access, but after migration with the child domain account, they cannot.
I have added the group CHILDDomain Users with a system user role on SSRS, and PARENTDomain Users was already there.
Is there any additional step I should/could take to get this active?

I'll go to a dataset, open up the query designer, add a new parameter, then refresh the fields, but the parameter won't be added as a report parameter. If I go to the dataset properties under the list of parameters, the value in the dropdown will be blank. However, sometimes this will automatically add.
Is this a bug in Visual Studio? How do I get around this?

I cannot get a consistent answer as to how many domain accounts would be suggested in a SQL Server 2014 installation. Previously the recommendation was a separate account for each service to provide isolation and minimum permissions for each account. It seems from what I've read that a single domain account would have something added to make it unique from SQL Server's perspective. Several still advocate multiple accounts. I don't know if they are doing so because that's the way it's always been done or if there is still some compelling reason to do so. I don't want to create unnecessary accounts simply because something is "ideal."

I have a table that I need to add an identity field to. I created a field in the table as an INT and added values to all of the existing records. When I try to change it to an IDENTITY field I continually get an error saying 'Invalid cursor state' . The help function tells me that this is caused by not having enough space in the transaction log but I don't understand this b/c the trans log is configured to expand as needed. Anyone know how I can do this?
