Problems During The Installation Of Integration Services

Sep 4, 2006

Trying to install SQL Server 2005 on my machine,I installed each part (engine, reporting services, integration services etc) seperately.

During the installation of Integration Services I got the following message

failed to install and configure assemblies D:Microsoft SQL Server 9090DTSTasksMicrosoft.Sqlserver.MSMQTasks.dll in the COM+ catalog. Error: -2146233087

ErrorMessage: Unknown Error 0x80131501

ErrorDescription: You must have administrative credentials to perform this task. Contact your system administrator for assistance

I am administrator of my machine an i tried to install SQL usign this account.

I selected IGNORE and the installation continued. Will I have any problem with Integration Services in the future because of this error?

What is the source of this problem? How could I solve this problem?

Installation Of Sp1. Sql Server Integration Services Do Not Start

Aug 9, 2006

hi,

after installing sp1 for sql server 2005 the sql server integration services did not start. and i can`t start them manually. the installation succeeded without problems (both sql server and sp1)

the only problem was with installing sql server 2005. in the sql server configurations manager the following protocols were disabled:

- named pipes

- tcp/ip

- via

- shared memory was enabled

is this a problem. because in the "how to verify installation of sql server" is written, that tcp/ip has to be enabled. however i can manually enable it.

i can`t start the sql server integration services manually. so what can i do? i also tried reinstall sql server but i do get the same error.

hope somebody can help me!

How To Optimize Integration Pacakages Or Best Practices For Integration Services

Sep 11, 2007

Hello friends.
I managed to design an Integration service package,but the desired level of performance has not been achieved(i.e it is performing slow).
So I want to know what are the best practices for optimized solution .
In my package I'm exreacting data from XML file and Storing it in SQL server database with some processing dring data flow.

I'm using
1) Two Script Task Control -In these control,I m opening the connection to XML file through VB.net code and
iterating each record at a time.
2)Two OLE DB Command -Each fetched record from script task component is processed in OLEDB command through
stored procedure and then inseted into database.
3)One for Loop -This loop contains two script Task control and two OLEDB Command control,
(mentioned above),for fetching single record and inserting it in database.
4)One derived Column
5)One Multicast
6)One Character Map
7)One OlEDB Source

As with my current performance I'm able to insert one record in every .5 second (Which is much below to acceptable limits)
Is control lying disabled on SSIS designer pane also affect the performance of execution.

Analysis Services 2005 Database Processing Fails When Run From Integration Services

Oct 11, 2007

Hello, I have a problem when trying to fully process an SSAS database using Integration Services "Analysis Services Processing Task" task. I have 2 of these tasks which are responsible for processing the Dimensions then the Cubes. When I run the package either via the BIDS environment or on the local server from the Integration Services engine, I will get an error after about 20 minutes stating:

"Error: Memory Error: Allocation failure. Not enough storage is available to process this command""Error: Errors in the metadata manager. An error occurred when loading the <cube name> cube from the file \?D:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2OLAPDataMyWarehouse<cube file>.xml"

The cube name is not specific, it will fail and any of my cubes could be in the error log

If I fully process the AS database using the AS engine (logon to local AS server, right-click AS database and click Process), I get no errors at all, it processes and completes fine. The processing options are identical when I run in AS or via the SSIS "Analysis Services Processing Task" task.

I've searched quite a lot online but no joy, the information I have gleaned from various sites does not directly link SSIS with SSAS processing problems.

When either the AS processing starts via SSAS or SSIS the memory usage of MSMDSRV.exe increases to around 1.4 / 1.5 GB but never goes to 2GB ever, even when the error appears.

I've done the following with no effect.

" Have run via AS and works fine
" No specific cube it fails on
" Have created a Dimension only package, same problem
" Changed the maxmemorylimit
" Changed the connections to localhost
" Memory DOES NOT max out on server

Server Specs:
Windows Server 2003 Standard + Service Pack 2
4GM ram, 2GB paging file

SQL Server 2005 + Service Pack 2

Is that true that is is not supported or it is just a bug in installation ?

SQL Reporting Services Installation Problem

Aug 12, 2004

I have this situation in my current project.
I’m trying to install SQL Reporting services on two machines: the web part on a web server, the databases on a SQL Server. The ASP.NET process is running under a custom account that I created, let's say, 'MyAccountASPNET' . I'm using this account to connect to the SQL server. I already have a web application that is using this configuration to connect to SQL.
Now, during the SQL reporting services installation, at the end of the installation, while running the scripts to create the databases, I'm getting this message: 'The account 'MyAccountASPNET' is not a valid domain name <domain/username>. Please use the correct name.'
How am I suppose to use <domain/username> , while the two servers are not in a domain, on each of them I have a user 'MyAccountASPNET' with the same password, but of course the users are 'WebserverMyAccountASPNET' and 'SQLServerMyAccountASPNET'.
Any idea how to solve this problem?
Thanks

Reporting Services Installation Problem

Feb 2, 2004

Hi,

Here's the situation:
* I had an older beta (beta 1) of RS installed on a machine at an earlier time.
* Someone manually deleted the RS files on the machine as opposed to a add/remove programs operation.
* I installed the RTM Reporing Services on the machine.
* I try to author a report and get the following message:

'The located assembly's manifest definition with name 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop' does not match the assembly reference.'

I have removed VS 2003 and Reporting Services, and re-installed them numerous times, but still keep getting the same error message when I try to author a report.

Can anyone help?

I've searched the forums and followed the advice I've found to remove and reinstall .NET, but it hasn't helped. User ASPNET does exist on the machine with a local account, and IIS5 is running. SQL gurus, please help me figure out what to do! Thanks.

Reporting Services Installation Question.

Jan 20, 2007

I have installed Developer edition Sql Server and Reporting Services 2005 on my Windows XP machine (peer-to-peer network not domain). If I try to access the Report Manager home page (http://localhost:8080/reports), a login dialog appears but my own login is denied access, even though I am a member of the computer administrators group.
If I change the access of the reports virtual directory to permit anonymous access then I can get to the Report manager home page, but of course there is then no site settings tab.

In the Rpting Svcs Configuration, the following are maked completed: Server status, Report Server Virtual Directory, Report Manager Virtual Directory, Windows Service Identity (set to LocalSytem), Web service identity (set to ASPNET account), Database Setup & Initiatialization.

Where did I go wrong?

Silent Installation - SQL 2000 Reporting Services

Feb 14, 2008

Hi,
I'm trying to install SQL 2000 Server Reporting Services silently.

I've read that I need to customize template.ini file. This is my file:

[Options]
USERNAME=user
COMPANYNAME="Company Name"
PIDKEY=*******************************
INSTALLDIR="C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server"
;Components to install
ADDLOCAL=RS_Server,RS_Manager,RS_Designer,RS_Admin_Tools,RS_BooksOnline_EN
RSACCOUNT=
RSPASSWORD=
RSAUTOSTART=1
RSVIRTUALDIRECTORYSERVER=ReportServer
RSVIRTUALDIRECTORYMANAGER=
RSREDIRECTTOMANAGER=0
RSUSESSL=1
RSDATABASESERVER=
RSDATABASENAME="ReportServer"
RSDATABASEFILELOCATION=
RSDATABASELOGFILELOCATION=
RSSQLACCOUNT=
RSSQLPASSWORD=
RSSETUPACCOUNT=
RSSETUPPASSWORD=
PERSEAT=1

I don't know if I missing something essencial or if I did it in a wrong way, but when I ran the installation from the command line, I get, after a while, a minimized window with "ERROR REPORTING" as title that I can't restore.

I could install it manually without problems (as a test). I've made ISS files for the SQL 2000 Server Developer Edition, but I couldn't for reporting services. Is this possible? Is there an error in my template.ini?

Thank you in advance!!

SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in For SharePoint, Installation

Nov 27, 2006

Setup:  Windows server 2003 SP1, SQL 2005 SP2, Sharepoint Office server 2007, Report Services addin (CTP v9.00.3027).

Using the Report server configuration tool,  setting Report Server Virtual directory, end up with RS Configuration tool crashing.

It appears to be happening on the task "Changing Secure connection level", & returns "System.NullReferenceException was unhandled
Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

any ideas?

Integration Services

May 24, 2007

Is there a way to give customers access to SSIS? They need to be able to create their own SSIS packages. Of course we have more then one customer so it would be nice to have modular security in place where they don't get to see customers abc and customer xyz packages. Only their own.

thanks!
