Now I only want to select these rows, where the Integer value3 ends on
1. So I need the Modulo-Function. I found in the Internet these two
functions:
MOD(x,y) und x % y
But I get an error if I want to use one.
For example, If I change
ADOQuery1.SQL.Text := 'SELECT * FROM database1 WHERE
value1=1 AND value2= ' + inttostr(array[3])+' AND MOD(value3,10) = 1;
I have defined a Data Transformation Services (DTS) package in MS SQL Server. In VB I know that the DTS execution can be done thru VB codings. But what about Delphi?
Can anybody suggest any Delphi components or codings for this purpose.
Hi there guys, I am currently trying to achieve a seemingly simple task in VC++ 2005. I have made a very simple form in Microsoft Access which I wish to serve as the beginnings of something greater. I created a db in MS Access named links.mdb containing on table-> Table1. Table1 contains 1 column, "Links", and i wish to read these strings into variables in my Visual C++ Windows Forms Application.
What I have done so far...
In Visual C++, I clicked on Data->Add new data source, and followed the wizard to add the microsoft access database to my application by the name, "linksDataSet". I can see the table in my left hand "Data Sources" pane in VC++. All I need to know is how to access my database from here so that I can read these strings stored in my table. Also, would be possible to schedule my application to log on to a http server and retrieve these links every time the application is executed? How would I go about doing this?
SQL Database in my application with windows authentication rejects accessing after deploying and remote access 1- My web applications databese access is windows authentication 2- In developing area there is no problem for accessing database 3- After deploying to another server there is problem accessing database: Cannot open user default database. Login failed.Login failed for user 'BRCK231ASPNET'. How can I solve this problem? Thanks.
I am trying to access data from a database to print a report. The code I am using says I have a syntax error regarding the object person_info. Person_Info is a table value function on the SQL Server (2005). Does anybody see a problem with this line of code? Thanks for your help! Regards, Steve "INNER JOIN (SELECT * Person_Info FROM (" & Session("current_project") & ")) ON pc.personID_fk=pe.personID_pk " & _
I have this function in access I need to be able to use in ms sql. Having problems trying to get it to work. The function gets rid of the leading zeros if the field being past dosn't have any non number characters. For example:TrimZero("000000001023") > "1023"TrimZero("E1025") > "E1025"TrimZero("000000021021") > "21021"TrimZero("R5545") > "R5545"Here is the function that works in access:Public Function TrimZero(strField As Variant) As String Dim strReturn As String If IsNull(strField) = True Then strReturn = "" Else strReturn = strField Do While Left(strReturn, 1) = "0" strReturn = Mid(strReturn, 2) Loop End If TrimZero = strReturnEnd Function
Is there any way of not allowing users with MS Access from using it to connect to a SQL 7 server? Basically, no connection to SQL through MS Access should be allowed. Any ideas?
When I access SQL2K using ODBC (linked table manager), I am not able to display any data. The columns show #Deleted as their data values. How do I display data in ACCESS from SQL2K tables?
I have a package which runs fine from the client but not the server (see error below). I am logged into the client with my domain account, and the package runs under a proxy using that same domain account (for now). The MS Access db I am trying to pull from is on a non-domain computer, and I have created a Y: mapped drive on both the client and server that access a share on that machine where the Access database lives--I created the mapped drive using the "different user" option, and used a local account on the non-domain computer to create the mapped drives.
On the server, when logged in as my domain account, I can use the y:MyDB.mdb you can see below in Start | Run to hit the Access database. Why can't the package also see this file when running on the server?

I am using XP_CMDSHELL to run 2 Windows commands (from a SQL 2005 SP2 server) that access files on a remote server (called webserver). The two commands are:
1. cscript.exe \webserverwwwrootEur_SaveProductImages.vbs 2. dir \webserverwwwroot Up until very recently this worked fine. Now I am getting Access Is Denied errors:
For #1: Microsoft (R) Windows Script Host Version 5.6 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1996-2001. All rights reserved. CScript Error: Loading script "\webserverwwwrootEur_SaveProductImages.vbs" failed (Access is denied. ).
For #2: Access is denied.
This happens if the above commands are run through a job, or directly with Query Analyzer as SA.
I understand that XP_CMDSHELL commands are run in the security context of the SQL Server startup account. The SQL Server startup account is called SQLServer and this account exists on both webserver and the database server. On both servers the username & password are identical and the user is in the local Administrators group. The two servers are in a workgroup.
Things I have tried (with no effect):
1. Restarted the servers 2. Deleted and recreated the SQLServer login on both servers 3. Changed the startup account for SQL Server through the SQL Server Configuration Manager to another account and back to SQLServer.
The most revealing tests are these:
1. If I log into the database server myself using the SQLServer account I can run the above commands in a Command Prompt with no problem
2. I installed SQL 2005 Express SP2 on webserver using the same startup account (SQLServer). If I run the same XP_CMDSHELL commands as above but accessing files on the database server, the commands work! So, an XP_CMDSHELL command run under SQL Express using the local SQLServer account to access a remote server works, but an XP_CMDSHELL command run under SQL Server using a local SQLServer account (that is supposedly identical to the same named account on the other server) does not work !!?!?!?
It is almost as if XP_CMDSHELL commands run under SQL Server are NOT using the SQLServer startup account, but using some other weaker account. How can I tell if this is true?
How can I get this back working (as it was a week ago). The only thing I can think that happened on the servers to cause this is the installation of Windows Updates.
I am accessing my reports through one aspx page designed by me. in that i am using webservice to render the report and linking the url of the report to reportviewer
it is working fine but for the first time it is asking username & password of the reporting server to render the report. i am using Reporting Services 2000 plz help to avoid this user name & password prompt.
We are experiencing failures when accessing a datatype="Attachments" field in a query in an MS Access 2007 database using ACE ODBC or OLEDB drivers.
We are using an MS Access 2007 database ACE ODBC/OLEDB drivers installed (i.e. Office 2007, which installs these drivers) DB contains a table with a field of type "Attachments" (which is new in MS Access 2007) DB contains a query that selects the fields of the above table
Using ACE ODBC or ACE OLEDB drivers to display the table works fine. The "Attachments" field is displayed as the file name of the attachment(s).
However, using either ACE ODBC or ACE OLEDB to display the query (i.e. NOT the table) results in either incorrect results or unexpected failures of the ODBC/OLEDB drivers.
Error using ODBC (using "ODBC Test"): ============================= select * from Query1 does not give an error, but displays a "1" for the Attachment field. select Attachments from Query1 gives the following error: stmt: szSqlState = "HY000", *pfNativeError = -3087, *pcbErrorMsg = 97, *ColumnNumber = -2, *RowNumber = -2 MessageText = "[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Reserved error (|); there is no message for this error."

If it would help to analyze the problem, I have a folder containing all pertinent files (bare-bone database, tools, instructions) to reproduce this. I could attach it as a ZIP file, if requested.
I try to connect (locally) to SQLServer Express from Delphi5. On my developer computer, which has Windows XP, SQLServer 2000, VisualStudio2005 (and with that, SQLExpress 2005), it is no problem. However, when I transfer my program and the database to other computers with Windows 2000/WindowsServer2003 and a more recent standalone-version of SQLExpress, I get error messages like:
'Db-Library error 10004: No connection possible: SQL Server not available or not existing'
It does not matter which protocols I activate at the Server or whether the Server Browser service is running or not.
Does anybody have an idea how this might be fixed? Or whether it is a problem of the operating system?
I am using Delphi 7 and need to save mulitple documents that range from 2K KB to 200K KB. These need to be stored in the database for inclusion in the database backup.
When i am working on the 200K KB file i continusely run out of memory, how can i resolve this.
Hello,I have a situation where I have to run a Delphi 1.0 application onWin95 via ODBC to MS-SQL 6.5 server. This is working for me onseveral workstations.I always install 16-bit BDE and make appropriate changes to odbc*.INIfiles, etc.I have a machine which has just now been setup for this situation -and at the same time converted to a wireless network card.Everything works great as far as network connection, running querys, etc. But when get to the point of saving a transaction - I am gettingthe message:"Error - EDBEngineError(General SQL error. [Microsoft]{ODBC SQL ServerDriver][SQL Server]Line 2: Incorrect syntax near 'DATE_TIME')Here is the sql statement and partial source code:sql.Add('INSERT INTO INVOICES (INVOICE_NO, TOTAL, TAX, VOID_CODE,TYPE_CODE,');SQL.Add('invoices."DATE_TIME", TERM_NUMB, USER_NUMB, CUSTOMERID,BATCH)');SQL.Add('VALUES (:xINVOICE_NO, :xTOTAL, :xTAX, :xVOID_CODE,:xTYPE_CODE,');SQL.Add(':xDATE_TIME,'+':xTERM_NUMB, :xUSER_NUMB, :xCustomerID,:xBATCH)');ParamByName('xINVOICE_NO').AsString := InvoiceTotals.InvoiceNumber;ParamByName('xTOTAL').AsFloat := InvoiceTotals.Total;ParamByName('xTAX').AsFloat := InvoiceTotals.Tax;ParamByName('xVOID_CODE').AsString := vcFinalized;ParamByName('xTYPE_CODE').AsString := InvoiceTotals.TypeCode;ParamByName('xDATE_TIME').AsDateTime := InvoiceTotals.DateTime;ParamByName('xTERM_NUMB').AsInteger :=FUseStation;{InvoiceTotals.StationNumb;}ParamByName('xUSER_NUMB').AsInteger := InvoiceTotals.UserNumb;ParamByName('xCUSTOMERID').AsString := InvoiceTotals.CustomerID;ParamByName('xBATCH').AsString := DateToFieldStr(FUseBatch);ExecSQL;I realize DATE_TIME is some sort of reserved word but in this context(ie. table name and quotes) it works on all other stations. This isthe first part of a two part SQL transaction. What could be wrong? Thanks - Scott Murray.
I'm looking at using SQL Server CE as a replacement for MS Access in a WIN32 Delphi Application. This limits my database options to Providers that is usable from ADO.
I see that the OLE DB Interfaces are implemented, but I can't connect to a SQL Server CE database from Delphi. I've cut and paste a sample connection string (replacing the data source bit) but no go??
I've installed the Runtime Environment, VS2005 bit, Connectivity Tools and the SDK :)
I have a Client/Server app built with SQL Server + Delphi as Front-end. I have maybe 15 TTable components (active tables in the app.) and when runnning the app, each table uses 1 connection to the server. I had to boost the # of user connections from 15 to 25 just to run 1 instance of the app. If i try running another instance of the prog. the server needs 15 x 2 connections. I`m wondering if this is NORMAL? Would it be possible to have only one connection per instance instead of 15 !?!
I'm making an application in Delphi that use an SQL database, i want the user can import a table in DBF format (that its located in another computer) to the SQL Server (in the database that i want) by one click of a button.
I try with the import wizard but its not what i want because it requiere to do the process manually. Its there anyway of achive this (Stored Procedure or something?)

Hi, I would really appreciate some help on this one as I know nothing about triggers to be quite honest.
I'm trying to add a feature to my Delphi 2007 application to start a SQL package whenever a load button on my Delphi form is clicked. Assume I'll need SQL code to perform this.
Can anyone please assist in this matter - sample code will also be much appreciated. Thanks a million!
Dear friends I have a problem with the use of DELPHI and MSSQLServer!
I have installed in a PC a MSSQLServer Express. The PC is connected with a other via a small network. I have developed an application in DELPHI which runs also in the two computers. I have regulated SQLServer so as to is accessible via TCP/IP, make that I tryed after in the other PC I installed SQL Server Management Studio Express and had access in the database via the network. While in the beginning both applications worked normaly and were connected regularly in the base suddenly one day they couldn't be connected giving as message the following "DataBase Server Error: SQL State: 08001, SQL Error Code: 17 ", as there was no server. That is to say without I have teased the properties the access to DataBase was impossible via the application but possible via the SQL Server Management Studio Express and the environment of Borland Delphi 2005 from both PC's. That is to say suddenly only the application simply could not be connected. I tryed a lot of solutions but no one it did not work. When I installed the MSSQLServer Express in the other PC the application could be connected from this but no from the other via network always giving the same message. Has anyone any idea why I am in impasse from solutions!!!!
I just switched to a host that allows database connections so that I can now upload my database to their server.
When I test my site on my personal PC it works great. I upload everything to the server and nothing. I know that I need to load the database to the server. I have Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express and can make the connection but how do i load my database from my personal PC to the host computer?
I would be greatful if someone was able to walk me thou the steps on how to transfer the database. I am really very new with the database thing and ASP.
Since there is no native support for 64bit integers in dbExpress, itis not trivial to fetch a BIGINT from SQL 2k.If it is possible, how can a BIGINT be fetched using TParam or TField?Any help appriciated
