I got through the installation hoops for SQLEXPRESS Reporting Services in Vista and set up the default configurations in Report Services Configuration. I can explore the default directory for "Reports" in IIS7, but I can't browse in IE. I get the "The report server is not responding. verify that the report server..." message in the browser. This is after I migrated the app per the initial http 500 error using the preferred method - %systemroot%system32inetservAPPCMD.exe migrate config "Default Web Site/Reports".
I'm running Vista Ultimate, VS2005, SQLEXPRESS SP2. I've tried running IE as admin and also I've disabled UAC from gpedit.msc - ...Windows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PolicySecurity Options and unchecking UAC.
When I go into Report Manager, http://localhost/reports, and try running a report it is giving me this error message:
The request failed with HTTP status 401: Access Denied
But if I go directly to the Report Server, http://localhost/reportserver, and try running a report there then everything is fine.
Does anyone know why it is doing this all of a sudden? I did change the Reports app in ISS to allow anonymous access but have since changed it back, and it still gives this error.
hi all, i have SQL 2205 with SP1 installed on my machine. and i m not bale to connect to Report Server using SQL management studio as well as from web.
i have installed reporting server and database on same machine. i tried using
but i am not bale to connect i am getting "Service Unavailable" page.
and when i try to connect using SQL Management Studio with "servername/instance" as well as "http://localhost/reportserver" i am getting a error saying.
=================================== Cannot connect to http://localhost/reportserver.The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.UI.RSClient)
===================================
but if i try and connect to other reporting server on other machine using web http://servername/reportserver i m able to connect it. but dont know whats the problem on my machine.
Hi, I have setup reportserver with default settings (non https) and afterwards in IIS added a certificate and https support. Know I am able to work really well and secure over the internet, but some links in report manager pointing to http://server.domain.com/reports instead of https: For example if i call a report and then in the top there are (view, properties,...) - View is HTTPS - Properties is HTTPS - History is HTTP - Subscription is HTTP
I have read some articles - mentions I should configure https, but - in Report Configuration you could not setup HTTPS - in rsreportserver.config i have entered the https link version but did not change anything - in RSWebApplication.config the Reportserverurltag is blank - so i did not change anything
I need to understand why I am getting the following error when I run my deployed (remote) report embedded in an iframe within a page of my web application.
error: An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for data set 'cnMOOR'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote error
This happens when I fire the following code from a commandbutton: AppSettingsReader cfgApp = new AppSettingsReader();
on the same page I created a link - which runs the report perfectly - no permission problems. <a href="http://server2003msrs/reportserver?/moorreports/Client&rs:Command=Render&rs:Format=HTML4.0&rc:Parameters=False&supplierid=28&clientid=71&startdate=2007-01-01&enddate=2007-02-16&ownertype=1">Test</a>
I don't understand why these two controls are behaving differently.
I'd appreciate some guidance with this as the deadline looms...
I looked online and couldn't find anything to help me make this change. I want to change the default URL for reporting services to another url. Is this possible? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
I am using windows 2003 server and i have installed SSAS 2005 and configured http request for AS 2005 with this below url : http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sql/2005/httpasws.mspx. I had tried all the possiblities given in this url. But i am getting like "Test connection failed because of error initializing provider. The HTTP Server returned the following error : Not found" when i create udl file. Moreover i have installed MSOLAP 3.0 and OLAP 9.0 provider and MSXML 6.0 Parser.
Please take me out from this hell. I created report using VS2005 Business Intelligence Project. It builds fine. I can also see data in the design time. But when I am trying to deploy it gives me this error.

Please let me know what all I need to do to resolve the problem.
I am new at using Report Service and after successful install the SQL SERVER EXPRESS ADVANCE SP2 and configured the ReportIing Services Configuration. I try to launch the report manager by typing http://localhost/Reports I get the following error:
The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.
I've read many forums but I couldn't resolve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I am running IIS 7 on Window Vista Business Ed. & SQL Server Express Ed. I am not sure if this make any differences.
I have created a login page for users. The login page contain <FORM action="verifyuser.asp" method="post">. The verifyuser page verify that the user exist in the database. All the pages, home, login, memberspage, updatemember, seems to be working properly except for the verifyuser page. This is the code for the page:
<% Dim objConn, oRSu Set objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection") objConn.Open "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=False;"& _ "User ID=sa;Password=test12345; Initial Catalog=members;Data Source= Kai-PC;"
dim varUsername, varPassword varUsername = Request.Form("Username") varPassword = Request.Form("Password")
set oRSU=server.CreateObject("adodb.recordset") SQL = "Select * from Users where Username = '" & varUsername & "' AND Password = '"& varPassword &"'" oRSu.open SQL, objConn If oRSu.EOF Then response.redirect "Login.asp" end if Session("Username") = oRSu("Username") Session("password") = oRSu("password")
Response.redirect "memberspage.asp" oRSu.Close set oRSu=nothing %>

Whenever I try to login a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error appears... I have no idea whether that caused by the codes or because I'm using Vista? Thanks
what is it supposed to mean when the sync fails and just says "a security error occurred". i verified i can view the .dll from Internet Explorer and view the share from the workstation. i gave up on the normal replication because it kept saying access was denied when it tried to download any of the files in the share... i granted access to 'everyone' for all the files and folders in that share but that didn't help.
I created a website project and added login control etc. etc.Login works fine when running in Debug, however when i try to browse to site via iis , it fails with following error when "Log In" button. I am receive following error:

Hi, can anyone help with this pls - it's getting very fustrating! there seems to be some messages and text on this issue (looks like a common problem that MS haven't published anything about yet!) but nothing I could make heads or tails off... so any help here would be very useful!
I'm using VS2005 (release, NOT beta), the new reportviewer web control and an ASP.NET page - really basic, nothing fancy. I've set the reportviewer properties to:
I'm testing the ASP.NET page is on my local machine - and the reportviewer is connecting to a remote test server (W2k3 SP1). When I view the page, then I get
HTTP ERROR 401 Unauthorized
Directory Security on the report server is Windows Authentication - W2K3 with SP1 and Reporting Services 2005 (release, NOT beta)
Directory Security on my local machine is Windows Authentication - XP SP2 and VS2005 (release, NOT beta)
Like many others, I am have trouble getting this to work, and none of the solutions I have found on the inter-tubes seems to work for me:
"An unexpected error occurred while connecting to the report server. Verify that the report server is available and configured for SharePoint integrated mode. --> The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized."
The Setup:
MOSS/SSRS (Integration Mode) running on a server farm on a single server: myserver.mydomain.org
Service Account for all Services: mydomainmyaccount (trusted for delegation, member of IIS_WPG) myserver trusted for delegation SSAS running under Local System on ssas.mydomain.org.
SETSPN -L mydomainmyaccount results:
HTTP/myserver.mydomain.org
HTTP/myserver
MOSS Authentication Settings
Authentication Type = Windows Default Authentication Provider = Negotiate (Kerberos) Anonymous access not enabled
IIS Settings
SSRS on Default Web Site: Port 8080
Application Pool Identity mydomainmyaccount
NTAuthenticationProviders="Negotiate,NTLM"
Security: Windows Authentication
MOSS on Sharepoint-80 Site: Port 80
Application Pool Identity mydomainmyaccount NTAuthenticationProviders="Negotiate,NTLM" Security: Basic Authentication except _vti_bin/ReportServer is Windows Authentication The idea is to use kerberos to pass credentials from SSRS reports running on myserver.mydomain.org to SSAS on ssas.mydomain.org.
I'm new to this forum. I have been searching around for the solution to the problem that i'm having, and I can solve it. I'm having the same problem as the title say....unsupported HTTP function call....The thing is that it worked on my development server. When I transfer all the source to a new pc and execute it, it failed with the error in the subject. I uninstalled and reinstalled everything. I ran the http://iissvrname/iisvirtualdir/sscesa20.dll and I get this "SQL Server CE Server Agent" which tell me that IIS & SQL CE are setup correctly. Here is the error log:
Source: Microsoft SQL Server 2000 windows CE edition Number: 80004005 NativeError: 28017 Description: An incorrect or unsupported HTTP function call was made. [,,,,,] Param = 0 Param = 0 Param = 0 Param = Param = Param =
I'm running SQL 7 on the PC and using RDA to pull data from SQL7 db to the PocketPC.
I am using .net 2005 as front end and Sql Server 2005 as backend, as i face the problem on client side when i installed my software it works properly but after some time i face this error "HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration. Internet Information Services (IIS)" Also some time it shows me all records. Some time it disconnect the database connection so i can not understand why it happens like this, if somebody know then please help me out this bug.
I have setup SSRS 2000 and gotten it to work but I am having trouble with SSRS 2005. I can't access to reportserver anywhere on the network. The only way to get to reportserver is termserv into the server and hit it with http://localhost/reportserver The server is Windows 2003 server Standard Ed. running SQL 2005 SP2 and Sharepoint Portal Server 2007. Can somebody please help? Thank you.
Now I need to synchonize the data in Pocket PC to the remote sql server database.
I have configured the publication and the virtual directory in the server. When the Pocket PC directly connects to the server (that to say, the Pocket PC connects to the server through the ActiveSync), the data can be synchronized successfully. But when the Pockec PC connects to another computer () through the ActiveSync (this computer connects to the server through the network), the data cannot be synchronized. But when I run the application in the emulator in the same computer, the data can be synchonized with the server.
After deploying my report on the report Server, I try to access it on the browser which gives me the following error.

I have a pretty complicated report (lots of subreports, tables, etc) that can be well over a few hundred pages long. I can generate the report just fine, but I cannot seem to export it to anything other than an html archive. I need to export to PDF. Every time I try to export it get an error that says:
An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details.
I don't get any more information than that. Is there a way that I can figure out what the actual error is, or any other way I can go about troubleshooting this? Thanks.
I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS 6.0 and SQL Server 2005. I have just (Today) deployed the first ASP.NET application (developed in Visual Studio 2003 and, as such, dependent on .NET Framework 1.1) on this server and am getting HTTP Error 403 (You are not authorized to view this page). This ASP.NET application runs fine on another server that is configured with the OS=Windows Server 2003, IIS=6.0 but without SQL Server 2005 and without the .NET Framework version 2.0. I found in the IIS Application configuration (on the troublesome site) that my app (in the Default Web Site folder) was pointing to the version 2.0 aspnet_isapi.dll. All efforts to use aspnet_regiis to "re-align" my app with version 1.1 have been fruitless to eliminate the HTTP Error 403. I granted the NETWORK SERVICE account privledges to the wwwroot folder. At this point, I don't know if I have a Framework error or a privileges problem.
We built our prod server [vm] with SQL Server 2008 R2 on Server 2008 R2. It works nicely. Then we made a copy of the VM and renamed it (so our test environment would be IDENTICAL to production). After that, SSRS was broken: I get "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable." I can't connect via http, or SSMS.
We have tried:
* Running SSRS config tool (several times)
* Running with/without the IIS Server Role
* Dropping & recreating the SSRS keys
* Recreating the ReportServer database, etc
* Checking all of the accounts, permissions, etc
* Running SQL Repair
* Going through the registry to fix any references to the machine's old name
* Uninstalling, reinstalling SSRS
* Completely uninstalling ALL of the parts of SQL Server 2008 R2, deleting all directories, removing references to SQL Server from the registry, rebooting, reinstalling everything.
None of this has worked. SSRS [R2] is still 503 on our test box.
the SSRS [NT] service seems to run, without error. The Event Viewer doesn't seem to be recording any errors. The SSRS logs say that the default URL is wrong, but we get the same error in Prod, and Prod works fine. The other SQL Logs say something about not being able to contact the service. However, as I said, the [NT] service seems to be working fine.
