Query Find A List Of All The Jobs In A SQL 2005 Database
Apr 22, 2008
Hi,
I was wondering if there was a SQL query I could run that would list all the current jobs in a SQL 2005 database? I would like to check to ensure a job exists before I call it, but was having trouble finding a way to determine if it existed.
Any sql script or powershell script which outputs late running jobs? Currently I am using the below script to find out currently running jobs along with duration. But my requirement is to add few more columns to the query which indicates whether jobs is running fine or running behind expected time.
-currently using query to pull running jobs SELECT ja.job_id, j.name AS job_name, ja.start_execution_date, ISNULL(last_executed_step_id,0)+1 AS currently_executing_step_id,
I would like to create a query to find what user owns the job. It probably is in the master db, but I wouldn't know where to begin other than that. Telling me how to either change the job owner or create a job through t-sql would also help. Thanks -Kyle
When I give job Id in filter of this query this will give job status of "Success" but actually my job is currently in executing stage. I want to get all jobs that are currently in executing status.
Use msdb go select distinct j.Name as "Job Name", --j.job_id, case j.enabled when 1 then 'Enable' when 0 then 'Disable'
I wanted to check with you all if it is possible to create a script which generates the list of the schedules of all the jobs and then analyses it to rearrange the job starttime to ensure that we have equal gap between two jobs starting time. Just to ensure we donot have many jobs running at the same time.
We have our SQL Server 2005 hosted at a datacenter and have only SS Management Studio access (no term serv, no event log, etc.). Also, our hosting company has disabled the Database Mail feature. We have over 60 jobs running on a minute/hourly/daily basis that are critical for our business. It is super important for us to know if and when a job failed.
Given this scenario, how do you suggest we implement monitoring/notification of failed jobs?
I need to know if there is any way to extract all our jobs/dts packages where the 'sa' password is being used in either the job steps or any stored proc the sa pwd harcoded in it.
Hi, This is the situation: There are around 300 jobs on the server. The server shutsdown abnormally and is not functional for let's say 2 hours. After the server is back on, I need to find what jobs had to start during the server was down. Is there a way to get this list? I tried to write an SQL script that tells me the needed information, but the job schedule sheme is so complex that it would take too much time in developing such SQL script. Maybe anybody has a better solution, or has already made a similar script? ThankYou.
I try to find out how many jobs where run in parallel on my server in an interval of time. For example: between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM there were MAX 66 jobs that run in parallel and MIN 4 jobs. I am not sure if I can find this info out from a system view or I need to play with sysjobhistory view.
SUBSTRING(RIGHT('000000'+CONVERT(varchar,run_time),6),1,2)+':'+SUBSTRING(RIGHT('000000'+CONVERT(varchar,run_time),6),3,2)+':'+SUBSTRING(RIGHT('000000'+CONVERT(varchar,run_time),6),5,2) 'Start Date Time'
I can use Profiler to see database usage activity. However, in addition to it, is there a good query I can use to see whether user databases are being used (last select, last update, last alter or last delete etc., with date/time stamp)?I am looking for both SQL2000 and SQL2005 as we need to decommission some of the older servers.
My group is trying to ensure that there is a sufficient amount of cushion between the space allocated and the current size of a database. I know that I can check this using the Enterprise Manager. Is there a stored procedure or a systems table that holds this information. I know that sp_spaceused will give me the unallocated space, but i want the allocated space. Any suggestions?
I need a query to find out the server uptime and downtime of the server from MOM database, i don't know in which tables MOM actually stores this infomation.
I need this very urgently.
Thanks in advance
You can use this code to find out the information stored in the MOM tables:- ############################################################################ create PROC [dbo].[SearchMyTables]
Also , is it true that Grants to service accounts should go through roles as it is against audit & compliance standards? If yes, than how to find out the list of users who has direct grant to a service account ?
- Then how to revoke this grant from service account and than how to grant through the role ? - Is there a script that i can run and find the list of users in each SQL server instance ?
Hi all, I want to find the list of filenames associated with the SQL server instance programmatically. As VDI is concerned with taking backup of SQL server. Can we find the list of filenames associated with a DB using VDI ? or Is there any other way to know filenames?
We have a plan to use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition RC1 as a backend. Our Front-end is VS .NET (VB.NET).
We want to know how to edit the Compact Edition database (.SDF). Is there any editor is available right now in the market? or microsoft provided any editor for this.
OR Can i use microsoft 2005 sql server standard edition for this.
I'm using this to find duplicates where a person has the same email but varying firstname and lastnames:
select distinct t1.booking_id, t1.first_name, t1.last_name, t1.email_add, t1.booking_status_id from [aren1002].[BOOKING] as t1 inner join [aren1002].[BOOKING] as t2 on t1.last_name=t2.last_name and t1.booking_id<>t2.booking_id where t1.booking_status_id = 330 order by last_name asc
Sample data: 3927 Greg Smith greg@emailno1.com 303 5012 John Smith greg@emailno1.com 303 6233 John Smith greg@emailno1.com 303 4880 Dulcie Abuud dulcie@theiremail.com 303
However it is listing the non duplicate rows, For example: The record with Abuud as the last name, doesn't have any duplicates in the table, so I don't want it listed.
The data should be like this: 3927 Greg Smith greg@emailno1.com 303 5012 John Smith greg@emailno1.com 303 6233 John Smith greg@emailno1.com 303
how to find the names of the tables owned by the particular user in sql server and how to display the distinct object types owned by the particular user.
I am trying to use the SQL "Contains" method and full text indexing for some search functionality in an application.
I understand that full text indexes will break data using certain word breakers which are dependent on which language the index is created with. However, I cannot seem to find a list of the what the actual word breakers are. I cannot find these online or in Books Online ... please can you let me know where I can find out more about this?
Ok, I want to write a stored procedure / query that says the following: Code: If any of the items in list 'A' also appear in list 'B' --return false If none of the items in list 'A' appear in list 'B' --return true
In pseudo-SQL, I want to write a clause like this
Code:
IF (SELECT values FROM tableA) IN(SELECT values FROM tableB) Return False ELSE Return True
Unfortunately, it seems I can't do that unless my subquery before the 'IN' statement returns only one value. Needless to say, it returns a number of values.
I may have to achieve this with some kind of logical loop but I don't know how to do that.
I have installed the SharePoint adapters from codeplex and they show OK in SSIS 2008R2. But in SSIS 2012, I can't find them and their is no SSIS component tab to pick it and add it to the toolbox.
SELECT event_data.value('(event/data/value)[4]', 'bigint') AS cpu_time, --database name event_data.value('(event/data/value)[5]', 'bigint') AS duration, --estimated cost --estimated rows --nest level
[code]...
Basically, is a simple T-SQL query that reads the local file for my already setup extended event sessions. But I can't find the way to retrieve the following attributes as part as the T-SQL query:
--database name --estimated cost --estimated rows --nest level --object name
I am trying to find a BOL or some MS link with the full list of possible values for event_data.value but can't find one.
