Hello,I have been having a tough time writing the follow requirement for aquery.On a table that the primary key is a tagId and an hourly timestamp, Iwould like to find out for every hour which tags did not get enteredinto the database. Essentially I am looking for patterns of entriesthat are not making it into tableB.Examples of the tables:TableA TableBTagID and TagName TagId TimestampPK PK1 PK2approx 6000 rows approx 6000 rows per hourI am thinking that I will need to do something like:Select tableB1.time, count(*) from tableB1 group by tableB1.timehaving tableB1.time >= XXXX and tableB1.time <= XXXX and tableB1.tagIdnot in (select tagId from tableA where not exists (selecttableA.tagId, distinct.tableB2.time from tableB2)I have been trying to create an effecient query handle this but havenot had any luck. Any assistance would be more then appreciated.Thanks,Andy

Hi
I am looking to write a query that returns all records Inserted in the last hour.
The problem, as I see it, is that the column I need to refer to is a VARCHAR() datatype. Can I convert from varchar (example 14:04:31)to a time value and calculate from this ?
I would like to subtract 1 hour from current_timestamp or similar, so that the query dynamically changed.
Many thanks
I have a table that is recording hits to a website. Everytime someone views a page, the datetime of the hit is recorded in a field called hit_date_time. I would like to be able to come up with a query that will show how many hits occured on a given day or given days, broken down by hour.
The resulting table for two days would look something like:
Time Hits
1/1/01 12:00 1
1/1/01 1:00 23
1/1/01 2:00 54
1/2/01 1:00 15
1/2/01 2:00 14
I can't seem to figure out how to write the query so that I can take into consideration the date and hour of the event so that I can count it.
Thanks,
Eron

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a datetime field used to store a date of birth. When inserting the date of birth into the table it works fine. But when the date of birth is in the month of October, it takes an hour off. For example, if the date is 04-OCT-1993, it inserts as 03-OCT-1993 23:00.
It only happens for dates in October. It's being inserted via a .Net table adapter. It just so happens that October is the month that daylight savings kicks in parts of Australia (an hour is added), but I think this must be a coincidence.
I am using MS SQL 2012 and have a pretty simple table dbo. Migration Breakdown with sample data as follows.

What I am trying to do is parse the data set to find out when we have more than three like movements ex. 3 to 10 within ANY rolling 72 hour period. I have looked at the SQL Window Functions OVER with a ROW | RANGE subclause, but I can't find out how to tackle this rolling 72 hour business.
I know how to do this in Excel, but not sure about Power Pivot. Our fire department works on a 24 hour shift that starts at 0700 each morning. I want to look up what shift is working depending on the date and time of dispatch. In Excel, I would do a look up table, but instead of using false() as the last parameter, I would choose true().
I am not sure if this would be best created as a calculated column in the table that holds the incident date and time values, or have a separate table and create a relationship to use the shift in the rows/columns of my pivot table.
If the id1 will change in table1 it should also change the corresponding id1 field in table2 it does not do anything.
CREATE TRIGGER [dbo].[IDCHANGE]

Hello,
we need to track date/time of last update for each record in a table.
As we understand it, we can't use field type Timestamp as this type does
not use dates/times.
Is there any SQL function available which we can bind to a column or
do we really have to use triggers?
Greetings from Mannheim, Germany

Hi everybody,
I have a problem. My provider(ISP) is supporting SQL Native Client driver and my forum supplier is only supporting SQLOLEDB. I am trying to access our sql2005 DB located at our ISP.
I have changed this line:
strCon = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Connection Timeout=90;" & strCon
To:
strCon = "Driver={SQL Native Client};Connection Timeout=90;" & strCon
Now I can access the database, but when I am trying to loging I get this error:
Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occured while writing to the database.
Please contact the forum administrator.
Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_loginUser()_update_USR_Code
File Name:- functions_login.asp

What can I do?? I am stuck in between and need a solution.....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a table written in to sql by the program Wincc flex wich is currently constantly saving data in to it. I want to reed this data back in to Labview and update it’s content on Labview constantly to plot a graph that keeps updating over time.
I have achieved this after some research but my problem is that I need a way of just reading the last row (meaning most recent row, not last row as the bottom one) inserted in to the table written by wincc and saved in sql WITHOUT having to read all the data and selecting for example the higest value of a timestamp column (which is added by wincc) because this would cause too much lag since the table has a lot of elements and I need to constantly read it. One of the main problems is that the data written by wincc is written in a circular buffer, which does delete 20% of the data when it fill’s up and start writing new data in to the free space, so that the temporal order of the data does nothing to do (at least nothing simple) with the index order in the table. Is there anything like a method to save the index of the last row modified in the table so that labview could read it and directly access the most recent recordset in the table just by index specification on a query?
I am writing a generic trigger in VS 2005 that selects records from the inserted table, and updates an audit table. I am, however, unable to retrieve the name of the table that the insert occurred on. I am using the following code to select the records, and obtain the name.. Can anyone offer any alternatives to accomplishing this task? Thanks in advnace for any help you can provide.
Craig
SqlDataAdapter tableLoader = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM inserted", connection);
DataTable insertedTable = new DataTable();
tableLoader.Fill(insertedTable);
string insertedTableName = insertedTable.TableName;
is there any way to know when was the table last touch (updated) in all scenarios (insert, delete, update, etc..)?
