During the execution of SSIS Package which is populating huge data into OLEDB Destination from OLEDB Source, then some of the records are getting rejected. Again if we are executing it twice or thrice, the rejected records are getting inserted.
Wants to know, why the records are getting rejected? Target table does not contain any constraints.

I assume that this is caused by the no. of records im loading since the .xls file can only contain 65,000 records.... i tried using the .xlsx file but i guess it only accepts .xls.
What's the alternative to load to excel 2005 with this numbers of records?

Hi,
A long long time ago I asked for the ability to define an order in which you insert data into multiple destinations in a single data-flow. This was to get around the problem of loading tables in the same data-flow that have FK relationships between them.
My chosen alternative at the moment is to load the table with the unique key first and drop the data for the table with the FK into a raw file and load it in a seperate data-flow. Another alternative is to disable FK constraints and reenable after but I've chosen the raw file method.
Now that I'm using SSIS on a real project this is becoming a much bigger problem that I ever envisaged it might be. Its rare that I'm building stuff where I don't have to use raw files for this very reason and this means that I have god knows how many raw files hanging around all over the place.
I suppose the reason for this post is to flag the importance of this requested feature. I really hope that this makes it into Katmai. Or into a service pack would be even better!
Its a bit of a failing at the moment.
Are there any chances that this will make it into Katmai? its one of my biggest bug-bears about SSIS v1.

The further i get with doing my current SSIS package the more i am starting to wonder about best practices and performance.
My current package loops through CSV files in a specified location and extracts events from these files. Each file contains multiple events which are a mixture of different types. Depending on the event there are a different number of comma seperated values. In the package i firstly set each event to one column seperated by a comma delimeter. I then create an array for the event which is split by the delimeter. In a script i weed out all elements of the array that are common to all events and set the remaining events to another array. After some processing i come to my conditional split transformation which splits the processing of each event based on the EventID. This is where i'm having doubts on whether i have approched the package correctly. There are approximately 60 different events so each one of these has a seperate pipeline to process the remaining parameters in the array and output them to the destination table. The destination table is differnet for each ID. Is it viable to have this amount conditions and paths when creating the pacakge and is this likely to have any detrimental effect on performance. Is there possibly another way that i could approach this problem?

What I am trying to do is move data from a staging table into a live environment and then update the staging table AFTER the row has move (and not errored). There does not seem to be a reliable method for doing this.

I can€™t use hardcoded connection strings. I can€™t use configurations because they are not encrypted. I already have managed code that will give the corrected connection string. I already have a custom connection manager that I use from the data flow sources. I just need one for data flow destinations but I can€™t see a way to extend into the OLE DB?
I have recently upgraded to SQL2014 on Win2012. The Access front end program works fine.
But, previously created Excel reports with built in MS Queries now fail with the above error for users with MS 2013. The queries still work for users still using MS 2007.Â
I also cannot create any new queries and get the same error message. If I log on as myself on the domain to another PC with 2007 installed it works fine, so I don't think it is anything to do with AD groups or permissions.
I have a stored procedure that attempts to INSERT @BatchSize number of records at a time into a table. Currently, I have @BatchSize set to load 50,000 at a time. The table I am inserting from has a little over 67,000 records.Â
When I execute the procedure with NOCOUNT left off, the procedure seems to run indefinitely, and the count of records returned surpasses what I have in the source table. However, only 50,000 records are inserted into the table.

I develop my application on two different workstations (one at work and one at home). On each, I created a database with the same name, and added identical users with the same login ID and password. For simplicity, let's just say the database is called "my_data", and the user is "my_user" with a password of "12345". Recently, for reasons beyond this post, I needed to copy the data from my work database to my home database. I tried both a Detach Database, and a Full Database Backup, and have gotten the following result: When I attach/restore the databases to my home computer, the login "my_user" and "12345" fails. I THINK that even though my databases have users with the same login ID and password in them, that the two users are actually DIFFERENT users because they were created on different servers. I tried to remove the user from the database, but the db server wouldn't let me since the user owned a schema (which I can't uncheck in user preferences because it is grayed out). So I think I need to figure out how to remove the user that is in the restored database, and re-add the user that exists on the server that the database was restored to. Any suggestions? How do I remove the owned schema from the user that is in the database? Thanks! Mike

Maybe is it a newbie question : it is the first time I install a SQL Server licence purchased with the eopen program.
My SQL server licence is a french one. I purchased the correct media kit.
During the installation, I am asked the name, and the company name but the product key is greyed with product id which begin with "RY62Q". I guess it is normal (?)
But later on, when it comes to installing SQL server itself, i get a message telling that my product ID is incorrect. (id : 28021; event type : sqlcasqlcax.cpp@DetectProductID@DetectProductID@x6d75).
I tried dozens of times :
-with another admin account
-after cleaning up the temp and program files subdirectories
-after cleaning up the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftMicrosoft SQL Server,HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftMSFTESQLInstMap; there was nothing anyway)
If it helps, I first try the installation from a wrong media. As I had no key, I went not far away.
I did received the authorisation number etc from Microsoft but I have no clue of what have to do from that.

i want to import data from an excel sheet into a database. While reading from the excel sheet OleDb automatically guesses the Datatype of each column. My Problem is the first A Column which contains ~240 Lines. 210 Lines are Numbers, the latter 30 do contain strings. When i use this code:

I am getting ErrorCode 8 while loading the data from stage to model. I have checked my error view it states that "Member Code is Inactive".
Initially I have loaded same set of data in Model from MDS Stage table but then deleted with ImportType = 5 which removed all the data from the MDM model.
Now i want to load it back but its giving the Error Code 8 .. Before loading the same data i have changed the stage table Importtype to 2 and Importstatusid to 0.

The column data for column "Column 20" overflowed the disk I/O buffer.
I tried to add another column 21 at the end and truncate or leave that column unmapped to destination but the same problem occurs for column 21 what should i do to over come this .

for some reason, SQL Server is rejecting the Credentials that is provided to CR Services, the user has right to that database. When We run the report manual, it works fine, but when we run Automatic on schedule , it fails.
The Authentication mode is set to Mixed.
The Startup Service accoutn is set to "This Account"
Any idea, why would this failure on User is encoutered.

We found that some of the data field become 'null' after the load action finished, if we load the same data again, problem disappeared, we can't 100% reproduce this issue each time, we don't know why, Anybody here can help us to solve this issue or give us some clue?
I would like to reinstall the enterprise manager of sql server 2000,and i have currently sql server 2000 SP4 installed on it.I googled on it, and read that installation of enterprise manager ispossible from the setup disk, however, this is not possible: it rejectsbecause of the service pack.How can I reinstall enterprise manager, without haveing to uninstallsql completely?ThanksPrem

I scheduled my subscription and tested it. I didn't receive any mail from the setting email address, but got an error message in ReportServerService log file as following.
Error sending mail, CDO error -2147220978, will not resend
Error sending email. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8004020E): The server rejected the sender address. The server response was: 530 authentication required - for help go to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-11.html

I have a package which loads data from a flat file (csv) to 4 tables in a database.
Now, the load is incremental.
I want to clear the data of all 4 tables(in the database) before loading the data from flat file everytime.How can i do this?
Iam using 4 Oledb Destinations, 1 multicast, 1 source component to do this.
Also can it happen like a transaction? because if it deletes the existing data and couldnt load new data there will be a problem!.how to avoid this?

I got an error when i do an OLE db Source pointing to an sql 2000 database and executing a sql query inside the OLE Source. The ole source will point to an OLE DB destination which is an sql 2005 database.
But i got the below error:
Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Destination [245]]: the column firstname cannot be processed because more than one code page (936 and 1252) are specified for it.

I am loading Data from Mainframe to SqlServer on WinNt.
Normally it was taking 35 mts do the dts job.
on last two days it runs for more then six hours still the job doesnt get over.
I am at a loss to know what to do and how to fix this problem. THe main frame ppl said sqlServer is fetching the data very slowly.
If anyone knows the solution pl post a solution
