I am working in SSRS 2000, and I have a report using a table. In the footer of the table I want to do a calcuation. I have a textbox in the table called "SumAmtCurrent", which is a sum value for a field in my dataset. I have another field in my dataset, "TotalRevCurrent", and I would like to take this second field, subtract the value in the textbox "SumAmtCurrent", and have the result in the footer of the table. I tried to reference the textbox using ReportItems!SumAmtCurrent.Value - but that gives me the following error
"...The value expression for the textbox €˜textbox7€™ refers to the report item €˜SumAmtCurrent€™. Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope..."
Is there a way I can get this total into my report?
I have a report parameter textbox in my SSRS report which has the parameter properties as "allow null value" and "allow blank value" checked.
How I can ensure that when the value is entered in textbox, it should accept any character ie. The SQL code I should write so that all the characters inputted via the report parameter are accepted.
1. I have one combobox for supplierID, it displays 1,2,3... Now i want to display the corresponing SupplierDescription in the textbox placed in the Page Header Section. If it is multiple selection then it has to be seperated by ',' (Comma).
Ex: IF i select 1,2,3 in the combobox then in the TextBox should look like Suplliers: Ram, Don, Krish
I tried modifying it and playing around with the TranslateTranform function but I'm really confused on how it works. I can get the first letter in my text to be upside down but the rest is not showing up. It's like it's being cut off or something. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I need to add carriage returns into a text box of 3 lines. The data is pulled from the BD so the "cariage return" symbol need to be in the database field.
I know that some reporting software give the option to add HTML code into textbox but I did'nt find out about ms reporting 2000.
Hi! I dont know if i will explain this correctly, but my problem is with reporting service. I'm supposed to Sum value in one textbox and than that sum use it in sum in other textbox.
Something like this: Sum(Fields!Abc.Value/(Fields!dfg.Value+Sum(Fields!abc.Value)),"matrix1_RowGroup1")*100 I get error msg 'The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox49' contains an aggregate function (or RunningValue or RowNumber functions) in the argument to another aggregate function (or RunningValue). Aggregate functions cannot be nested inside other aggregate functions.'
Something like this wont work either Sum(Fields!abc.Value/ReportItems("textbox56").Value)*100 Error The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox55' uses an aggregate function on a report item. Aggregate functions can be used only on report items contained in page headers and footers.
So, pls help if you know how to reference textbox in other in body of report. Thx.

I have 2 dates as input. The main date and reference date (Last date of previous year) of the main date. At the moment I manually insert the values for main date and reference date, but I only one to select the main date and automatically insert in the first column of the matrix report the reference date.
Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial on how to create a drill down report in SSRS 2000. I found one for SSRS 2005 http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/MohanKumar.R/DrillDownReport02212008083910AM/DrillDownReport.aspx If I had the AdventureWorks Db I may be able to figure it out.
I know how to create a hyperlink but I need the toggle (+/-) for my latest endeavor.
My book "Hitchhikers Guide..." didn't help me out.
I want to create reports in SSRS that use cube in SQL 2000, I don't know which type of connection that i have to use,
I tested it with Microsoft SQL Analysis Services, means I connect to my cube with this type , everything is ok in developpement (create MDX query , make reports...), but in production It gives me this error message (cannot connect to the datasource),
windows 2003 SP2 with AD, IIS with SSL, SQL 2000 SP4, RS SP2.
I am trying to deploy a report from visual studio .net 2003. Error message: not able to connect to https://servername/reportserver I can access the reporting website on IE https://webserver/reportserver, and I can up load reports with site interface, but can't use designer 2003 to deploy.
I have a SSRS 2000 report that when I view the report data does not refresh until I press the refresh data button in the report. Clearly this can't be right and to expect users to press the refresh button every single time is also rediculous.
HAs anyone had this problem before and know what to do.
Here is the scenario: I have a report in SSRS 2005 that uses an OLE DB connection to send a MDX query to an AS 2000 cube. The report has been working fine for weeks. When the report ran today, it returned the row and column metadata, but not the cell values.
I ran the MDX query separately in the SSRS query editor pane, and it returns all values properly. I was also able to perform the query using ProClarity, so it appears that the issue is between the result set and SSRS.
Hi, i want to add a text box as a column(it means for each and every row i need to have a textbox as a column) and i need to enter some data in that textbox and i need to save that data in my database....
SQL server 20005 SP2 is install in my WIN XP machine. I implement a SSRS report and try to deliver the report to a share folder in window 2000 server.
I create and set permissions on a shared folder as per the information in http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms345228.aspx. The account that I use in subscription is local admin account in the target machine.
I have try path \<servername>c$XXX and \<servername>XXX. Both is not ok.
I find following error message in the log file of reporting service.
ReportingServicesService!library!d!04/29/2008-00:03:40:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.FileShareDeliveryProvider.FileShareProvider+NetworkErrorException: A logon error occurred when attempting to access the file share. If I try to deliver same report to a share folder in WIN XP in the same way. It is ok.
Hello. In Report, above every column i put descriptional textboxes http://picasaweb.google.com/rustam.akimov/ReportBuilderProblem/photo#5147746349361385602 Everything was fine, but when i looked this report from localhost/Reports, size and location of textboxes changed http://picasaweb.google.com/rustam.akimov/ReportBuilderProblem/photo#5147746349361385618 Same problem arise while exporting this report in excel http://picasaweb.google.com/rustam.akimov/ReportBuilderProblem/photo#5147746345066418290 Does someone have any idea, how to prevent this.
I'm developing an SSRS report using VS2013 Premium with SSDT - BI v12.0.2430.0. SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance. The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report?  Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?
I want to put a textbox on the report such that the end-user can type in that textbox and then the text entered in the textbox could be captured by the report and could be used for further processing. Any pointers to this??
Am having problems setting a normal SSN xxx-xx-xxx format for a report textbox using the Textbox Properties / Format tab. The data is stored as text, and am using the "Format Code .... " option. When I choose "Custom" option, and attempt any formatting string containing the "-", the SSN is displayed without the "-". Nothing I have tried works.
What is the correct context string for this format?
Does anyone know of a link or list that has all the parameters for the "rs:" section of the URL access parameter, except for the ones in the Microsoft books?
I need to add a textbox in the report which would display the total number of rows in the report.I need to do this in reports which have either tabular layout or a matrix layout . Thanks in advance
I have a matrix report NESTED inside a "List" control. I want to put a reference in the text box in the matrix report to a dataset field in the List control. How? Thanks.
Is it possible to use Cell reference in the calculations, in SQL reports.
Like Excel allows "=A1 * B1", where A1 and B1 are two cells with some numeric value. Is it possible to use Cell reference in SQL reports? Like "textbox1 * textbox 2"... or something like that, with textbox1 and textbox2 containing some numeric values.
I have a report with some groups which can all be expanded/collapsed by clicking on a textbox with an action attached to it. The example I used can be found here: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=600583&SiteId=1
But I want to hide the row containing this textbox (or the textbox itself) on the actual printed report. Is there any report item that can tell me if the report is in preview phase, or can it be solved in any other way?
I've just joined this community and already feel alot better in doing so!!
My question is aimed at SQL Server 2000. Part ofmy job role has swicthed to SQL Developer to Database Administrator. To learn SQL Server 2000 (latest version available to me) I wanted to find out about courses (based in London, UK) which help teach along the lines of the following topics:
Fundamental concepts SQL Server installation and upgrade Database management Backup and recovery Alerts and jobs Security Replication Monitoring SQL Server Converting and migrating data
This is what I understand to be prior importance for the role.
My main question to you guys: Can anyone recommend a reference book which is a good desktop companion which covers all of these topics to detailed depth??
I'm running SQL Server 2000 on Windows 2003 Server. I'm aware some books may be old, but the later they are the better?
I've studied SQL at uni, covering RDMS, OLAP, Data manipulation, Data Definition. But now its to be applied to SQL SERVER 2000
