I deleted a login name from the server Security - Logins. The login name was added to the database (myDatabase) permissions before it was deleted. I meant right click at myDatabase. Select Properties, and the Permissions tab. What is the command for removing the login name from myDatabase Permissions?
I did it from the Query Command window yesterday using maybe EXEC SP_????????? but I could not find it again on the web. Can someone please help me with this?
I need a SSIS Package that compares the two tables and removes the rows in the first table with keys that do not exist in the second table. For example....
I have a table of returns based on returnID. In another table I have returnErrors that are based on returnID as well. I want a package that will uses my returns table as a source and compares that dataset to the dataset of the returnError and remove or spilt the data so that my remaining dataset only has returns that have returnErrors. I can do this in T-SQL, but I am looking for a SSIS solution that uses the conditional split transformation or some other transformation(s) combinations.
I have small table that has been corrupted. I'm getting the following error when running a simple select statement: "could not open FCB for invalid file ID 0 in database 'data_base_name'. Table or database may be corrupt. connection broken."
I have already created a new table, but I have been unsuccessful at removing the corrupted table. Does anyone know the steps to go about removing this table? And, if anyone has seen this type of error before, why did it occur? Is it a bug with microsoft SQL7? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Hi All I have the dbo.OperatingHour It has many duplicates and I want to remove duplicates permanently The statement below works but when I open the table there are no changes
Insert into OperatingHour(Weekdays, Wednesdays, Fridays,Saturdays, [Sundays/Public Holidays]) (SELECT DISTINCT Weekdays, Wednesdays, Fridays,Saturdays, [Sundays/Public Holidays] FROM OperatingHour)
Problem: I have a user who wants to remove table, but when she tries to remove it ( drop the table), she gets an error: =========================================================== MSG 3724, Level 16, State 2, Line 6: Cannot drop the table, 'dbo.<table name>' because it is being used for replication. MSG 2714, Level 16, State 6, Line 2 There is already an object named '<table name>' in the database. ============================================================
To investigate, I saw the following:
In the SSMS---> Replcation---> Local Publication--> [XYZ].Pub_XYZ [SERVER Name].[XYZ_Replication]
Local Subscriptions: [Reference DB].[ServerInstance].[Instance Name]:ABC.ABC_TO_XYZ.Reference DB).
How do I remove that table? Do I need to edit Replication? How? Which one?

I have uninstalled the CTP version of the SQL Server express so that I can install the released version but CTP version is still listed in the add/remove program list but without the change/remove button. I have been to different sites to find information on cleaning this up and I have ran all the uninstall tool I can find but the problem still prevails. I cannot install the released version without completely getting rid of the CTP version. Please help anyone.

I am working SQL Server 2005 and One Table Which contain only one column without primary keyNow I want to remove all duplicate value from that table with only single query
We have a table that we BCP into, the data is then processed and inserted into its appropriate table. Then the table or its data needs to be removed. This seems to be a very slow operation to remove the table or table data. I have tried drop table, and truncate table and it takes nearly as long as the bcp operation. The table has 12 million rows. I didn't think either operation wrote to the transaction log except for page extent management. Why is the drop and truncate so slow. Suggestions?
I have a table with one column, and i want to remove those records from the table which are duplicate i meant if i have a records rakesh in table two time then one records should be remove... my tables is like that
Is there any way to remove IDENTITY property on particular table? I tried removing IDENTITY property using Manangement studio, but this operation behind the scene use migration concept that is by creating tmp table and then populating with data; droping the orginal and renaming the tmp back to original.
Second, i want some kind of generic solution using certain system table like aya.sysobjects, sys.identitycolumn etc such a way that i should be able to remove the idenity property from all of the table accross a database.
I currently have one table that lists all projects and tasks within the organisation. One of the table fields is the task status, open or closed. I would like to be able to have a process by which the tasks that are completed are removed from the table and placed into another (archive) table. The same records then being removed from the original table. which then only contains the incomplete tasks. This process could be run at given times during the day or at the point when the status of a task is changed from open to closed, either way each time the process is run it would need to append the rows removed into the archive table. Anyone any ideas on the best way to do this?.
hello, once upon a time when i created my db (originally in access then used the conversion tool, which i now know is wrong!) i thought it would be an amazing idea to have cascading updates and deletes, however it turns out now this is exactly not what i want! if i leave them in then it throws errors when i delete records out of my stock table as related records are in the order_line table here is the code (well i think so, im not the best at sqlserver as you probably can tell already) that im using if anyone can help or point me in the right direction that would be great, thanks USE [nashdfDB1]GO/****** Object: Table [dbo].[tbl_stock] Script Date: 07/13/2007 02:52:14 ******/SET ANSI_NULLS ONGOSET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ONGOSET ANSI_PADDING ONGOCREATE TABLE [dbo].[tbl_stock]( [Stock_ID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [cat_id] [int] NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__cat_i__15502E78] DEFAULT ((0)), [sub_cat_id] [int] NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__sub_c__164452B1] DEFAULT ((0)), [location] [int] NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__locat__173876EA] DEFAULT ((0)), [n_or_sh] [varchar](50) NULL, [title] [varchar](255) NULL, [description] [varchar](255) NULL, [size] [varchar](50) NULL, [colour] [varchar](50) NULL, [cost_price] [decimal](9, 2) NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__cost___182C9B23] DEFAULT ((0)), [selling_price] [decimal](9, 2) NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__selli__1920BF5C] DEFAULT ((0)), [qty] [varchar](50) NULL, [date] [datetime] NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__date__1A14E395] DEFAULT (getdate()), [condition] [varchar](255) NULL, [notes] [varchar](255) NULL, [visible] [bit] NULL CONSTRAINT [DF__tbl_stock__visib__1B0907CE] DEFAULT ((1)), [picture1] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture1_thumb] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture2] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture2_thumb] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture3] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture3_thumb] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture4] [varchar](50) NULL, [picture4_thumb] [varchar](50) NULL, [display_price] [varchar](50) NULL, [created_by] [varchar](50) NULL, [buying_in_recipt] [varchar](255) NULL, CONSTRAINT [tbl_stock$PrimaryKey] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [Stock_ID] ASC)WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]) ON [PRIMARY] GO SET ANSI_PADDING OFF
Hey all, I have a profile table for members of a website that allows them to upload an avatar for use throughout the site. I decided to add the option to just remove the avatar if they want to no longer use one at all and I am stuck. I am running an update statement against thier entire profile incase they change more then just removing thier avatar but of course when I try this statement. myCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue("@avatar", "") I get a conversion error, which makes sence. So what instead of "" do I need for code to just insert empty data to overwirte thier current avatar data. Any help would be great, thanks for you time.
I have a table that is corrupted and want to remove and add a backup version of it. How can i remove this table and add it again preserving all the foregin key restraints, permissions, dependencies, etc? Simply exporting and importing does not work. I could painfully remove the table and then painfully reconnect it again, recreating all the foreign key restraints, etc, by hand; but there has to be an easier way! What is the How-to?
I apologize if this has been posted/asked before... a search of the Forum for keyword "NULL" doesn't return any result (not even a 0 found).
When I import an XLS file into SQL2000, everything goes fine, except that every column after my data has <NULL> in it. How do I prevent this from happening, or fix it?
I am using the Database is Oracle SQL Developer, here the Requirement is like Before insert the values in Database I need to remove the Database table and insert new values.
DELETE FROM XXMBB_NOSVOS_TMP_VO_NO WHERE EFFECTIVE_DATE BETWEEN '01' || '-' || TO_CHAR(to_date(:N_Date,'DD-MM-YY'),'MON-YY') AND to_date(:N_Date,'DD-MM-YY') AND LEDGER_ID = LED and name_rdf='NOSVOS'; COMMIT; DELETE FROM XXMBB_NOSVOS_BAL_TMP_VO_NO WHERE PERIOD_NAME = TO_CHAR(add_months(to_date(:N_Date,'DD-MM-YY'),-1),'MON-YY')
I have table with columns as ID, DupeID1, DupeID2. ID column is unique. DupeID1 and DupeID2 -- the combination should only be there once. I don't want reverse combination of duplicates, i.e. DupeID2, DupeID1 in the table. How can I delete the reverse duplicates from this table?
We are using SQl-2000 Sp2 clustured on two compaq servers We have to modify our database shema every month. We are using sp_repladdcolum and sp_repldropcolum to modify table without snapshot.
Owever I would like to add/delete entire table in shema database without using snapshot ?
I have a table that is riddled with weird characters. So far I have found an escape character for PDF files and a trademark sign. These characters are crashing my SSIS packages. I am able to remove these characters with an update script...
Update TABLE set LEAD_NOTES__C = Replace(LEAD_NOTES__C, nchar(65533) COLLATE Latin1_General_BIN2, '!');
Update TABLE set LEAD_NOTES__C = Replace(LEAD_NOTES__C, nchar(1671) COLLATE Latin1_General_BIN2, '!');
This works fine, but my question is...
I would like to write a script that removes all foreign characters with the exception of the normal characters like (@,#,$,%,etc). I need a dynamic process that handles this so I am not losing time sifting through over 20,000 rows of data and changing my update script to remove a specific column. Although this method works, I would prefer a dynamic query. I intend to wrap this in a stored procedure that loops through all columns in a table (as parameter).
I have two linked tables from two different databases, there is a column "product" on each table however the product on one table has a Prefix so not a direct match. How can I join these tables ? In the query I have used product2: Replace([scheme_pos.product],"-B","") then tried Joining on product2 but it says JOIN not supported.

Many thanxs.
