I have a dataset in MDX using an OLE DB connexion. Here is the query:
Code Snippet
WITH
MEMBER [Number Proposal Issued] as
'[Measures].[# Proposal]'
MEMBER [Value Proposal Issued] as
'[Measures].[Amount - E]'
select
{ [Fact Proposal].[Proposal Status].allmembers*{[Number Proposal Issued],[Value Proposal Issued] }} ON 1
,non empty
[Time Key Issuing Date].[Month].children
ON 0
FROM [BV Sales DW]
where {[Time Key Issuing Date].[Year].&[2008]}
It is simple, it works. BUT, the dataset fields take the name of the returned columns and in this case, the [Time Key Issuing Date] values. The aim of this query is to be able to change the year at will (in the where).
For the moment, the fields has the full tuple name like Time_Key_Issuing_Date_Month__2008_1 for january. If I change the year to 2007, I will get Time_Key_Issuing_Date_Month__2007_1 so a different name.
So my question is: is there a way to call the first column for example "January" whatever the year is so I can call it in my report? Something like:
[Time Key Issuing Date].[Month].&[ (param year) ]&[1] as January
,[Time Key Issuing Date].[Month].&[ (param year) ]&[2] as February
...
on 0
I have tried to rename them in the dataset fields tab but when I put another name, it says the field doesn't exist.
We have managed to do it with code in the report but it a huge code not very easy to handle.
I have query which retrieves multiple column vary from 5 to 15 based on input parameter passed.I am using table to map all this column.If column is not retrieved in the dataset(I am not talking abt Null data but column is completely missing) then I want to hide it in my report.
I need to rename a replicated table columns.will this affect my current replication (Transactional replication)? Do i have to create a new snapshot and restart the subscriber?
I have a problem. I need to rename all columns of a database to uppercase. Since SQL SERVER 2005 does not support changing system tables is there a smooth way to do this? Has anyone ideas for a script? point me to the right direction. I have found the stored procedure sp_rename which could be useful (or would it be better to alter the tables)... So any help would be appriciated very much...
hi, i am having 2 columns in a table in a dataset. i want to add those two columns and bind the resultant total as a single column to the datagrid. is it possible. if yes, how o acheive this? please help me. thanks in advance. muppidi.
I have a dataset with rows that I normally would display in a table control. I have too many columns and I would like each data row to be display on many lines. How is that possible?
We are facing an issue while executing a stored procedure which uses a table of current database with INNER JOIN a table of another database in same instance.
Per our requirement, we are inserting select statement output in table variable. Then applying business logic and finally showing the data from table variable.
This scenario is working exactly fine in Dev environment. But when we deployed the code in quality environment. Stored procedure does not returning OUTPUT/ (No column names) from table variable.
During initial investigation, we found that collation of these two databases are different but we added DATABASE_DEFAULT collation in the JOIN.
I have a dataset with 2 columns, a rownumber and a servername - eg
rownumber servername
1 server1
2 server2
....
15 server15
I want to display the servernames in a report so that you get 3 columns - eg
server1 | server2 | server3
server4 | server5 | server6
...
server13 | server14 | server15
I have tried using multiple tables and lists and filtering the data on each one but this then makes formating very hard - i either end up with a huge gap between columns or the columns overlap
I have also tried using a matrix control but cant find a way to do this.
Does anybody know an easy way to do this? The data comes from sql 2005 so i can use a pivot clause on the dataset if somebody knows a way to do it this way. The reporting service is also RS2005
I have a report with multiple datasets, the first of which pulls in data based on user entered parameters (sales date range and property use codes). Dataset1 pulls property id's and other sales data from a table (2014_COST) based on the user's parameters. I have set up another table (AUDITS) that I would like to use in dataset6. This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. In other words, I'd like the results of dataset6 to show me the property id's that are contained in the AUDITS table but which are not being pulled into dataset1. Both tables are in the same database.
I have a small number of rows in a dataset, Table 1. There is a CLOB on a large dataset, Table 2. They join on a PK. I would like to retrieve this CLOB and add it to the data flow for Table1. In short I want to emulate the following:
Table 1: Small table without CLOB, 10 rows. Table 2: Large table with CLOB, 10,000,000 rows
select CLOB from table2 where pk = (select pk from table1)
I want this to return the CLOBs for the small number of rows in Table 1. The PK is indexed obviously so it should be a fast look up.
Table 1 and Table 2 live on different Oracle databases. How do I perform this operation efficiently in SSIS? It seems the Lookup and Merge Join wont do this.

I found out the data I need for my SQL Report is already defined in a dynamic dataset on another web service. Is there a way to use web services to call another web service to get the dataset I need to generate a report? Examples would help if you have any, thanks for looking
Hi, I have a stored procedure attached below. It returns 2 rows in the SQL Management studio when I execute MyStorProc 0,28. But in my program which uses ADOHelper, it returns a dataset with tables.count=0. if I comment out the line --If @Status = 0 then it returns the rows. Obviously it does not stop in if @Status=0 even if I pass @status=0. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.
ALTER PROCEDURE [dbo].[MyStorProc]
(
@Status smallint,
@RowCount int = NULL,
@FacilityId numeric(10,0) = NULL,
@QueueID numeric (10,0)= NULL,
@VendorId numeric(10, 0) = NULL
)
AS
SET NOCOUNT ON
SET CONCAT_NULL_YIELDS_NULL OFF
If @Status = 0
BEGIN
SELECT ...... END If @Status = 1 BEGIN SELECT...... END
i have two datasets.one dataset have old data from some other database.second dataset have original data from sql server 2005 database.both database have same field having id as a primary key.i want to transfer all the data from first dataset to new dataset retaining the previous data but if old dataset have the same id(primary key) as in the new one then that row will not transfer. but if the id(primary key) have changed values then the fields updated with that data.how can i do that.
D2 is a list of data. each row in D2 has a classid. D2 may or may not have all the classids in D1. all classids in D2 must be in D1.
I want to show fields in D2 and group the data with classids in D1 and show every group as a seperate table. If no data in D2 is available for a classid, It shows a empty table.
Case: Exporting Report to PDF/Printing/TIFF Report: Contains 1 table with 19 Columns. 1 column is static, the other 18 are visible at the users descretion. Report when printed/exported to pdf spans 2 pages naturally, 16 on the first page, 3 on the second, and the column widths have been adjusted to provide a perfect page span .
User A elects to hide two of the columns, and show the rest. The report complies and the viewable version is perfect, the excel export is perfect.. the PDF export on the first page causes every fith column, starting with the last column that was hidden to be expanded to take up additional width. On the spanned page, it renders the first column on that page correctly, then there is a white space gap equal to the width of the hidden columns and then the rest of the cells show with the last column expanded to take up the same width that the original 2 columns were going to take up, plus its width.
We have tried several different settings to see if it helps this issue or makes it worse. So far cangrow/canshrink/keep together have made no impact. It is not possible to increase the page size due to limited page size selection availablility for the client. There are far too many combinations of what the user can elect to show or hide to put together different tables to show and hide on the same report to remove this effect.
Any help or suggestion on this issue would be appreciated
=CountDistinct(IIF(Fields!Released_DT.Value = Fields!Date2.Value, Fields!Name.Value, Nothing)) Released_DT = a date - 09/03/2015 or 09/02/2015 Date2 = returns another date value in this case 09/03/2015
What I'm trying to do is: count distinct number of people (Fields!Name.Value) if the Relased_DT = Date2.My IIF statement is returning a zero value.
Hi every body... I have a probleme I have a web Services which contains a method getValue(IDEq (int), idIndicator(int), startTime(dateTime), endTime(dateTime)) I need to call this method. i am trying to set up a way of renaming a table in a sp.
ive been using
exec sp_rename 'old table', 'new table'
however if i try and specify to database and owner i end up with a weired db.owm.db.own.table name in the outcome. ive tried putting using it without specifying a db name in a sp and then sched job to exec the sp but it doesnt rename, probably because it doesn know which db to look for the ld table name in. however the sched job doesnt fail?
Hello,I have a shared hosting plan which already has aspnetdb.mdf on the server so of course I cannot use that db name for my site...I have renamed the db and now I get an error Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.aspnet_CheckSchemaVersion My question is, how can I make this thing work? All help is greatly appreciated!
Can anybody please tell me how to rename an sql server express. I have an SQL server instance named 'PC075/Sqlexpress'. I have to change it to 'PC075'. Thanks,
if my computer name is x and sql server was installed and therefore took on the default name of x, can I change the sql server name to y at a later date while the computer name remains as x? If so how do I do it?
The sp_addserver is internal recognition. But I want to connect to sql server using the new name y. I am assuming setup needs to be run only if computer name also changes to y and this is not the case.
Is there a way to rename a object across server using the sp_rename sp. I have a job running across server and I one of the steps requires me to rename a object on a different server.
In EM, when you right click a database and go to properties you can see on the general tab the file name,the location,the space allocated in MB and the file group. Is it possible to change the file name and how you achieve it? Where are these names stored? I really appeciate any suggestions. Thank you very much! Franco
I would like to rename my SQL server. Someone suggested SQLServer and we went with it, but after some discussions with other developers we thought that this name would be a hackers delight. So now I need to rename it to something that wouldn't put a "bulls eye" on its back. Any suggestions? :-)
This machine is not in production just yet, so if I had to reinstall SQL it wouldnt' be that bad of an option.
