I have database on localhost and i want to show this data on my website. I want to create a database online and want to sync with Local Host. Can it be possible syncing data automatically after some interval?

We need to sync a database on A so that there is a copy of it on B.
We need to be able to query both databases so mirroring isn't an option.
I have my first small SQl Server 2005 database developed on my localserver and I have also its equivalent as an online database.I wish to update the local database (using and asp.net interface) andthen to upload the data (at least the amended data, but given thesmall size all data should be no trouble) to the online database.I think replication is the straight answer but I have no experience ofthis and I am wondering what else I might use which might be lesscomplicated. One solution is DTS (using SQL 2000 terms) but i am notsure if I can set this up (1) to overwrite existing tables and (2) notto seemingly remove identity attributes from fields set as identities.I know there are other possibilities but I would be glad of advice asto the likely best method for a small database updated perhaps onceweekly or at less frequent intervals,Best wishes, John Morgan

in my iis the version of .net it says its running reads: 2.0.50727, though when i go to add / remove programmes i have 3.5 there? maybe its nothing to do with .net versions?

For the last twelvemonths it has been connecting without problem to my online SQL Serverdatabase provided by my ISP.Three weeks ago the ISP applied some sort of extra securityarrangements to their SQL Server to allow access only through port1433. they have told me to configure an alias using Network Client andto register this alias in the usual way using my Enterprise Manager.My problem is that despite creating the alias in exactly the wayinstructed I just cannot connect to online database. system error 5: "5(Access is denied.)".and a code dump showing that the code is breaking at the open connection. A little research on the error indicates that IIS does not have permission to execute the database operation. I can not find any information on how to give IIS this permission in SQL Server 2005 Express. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have done a bit of searching around and cant find a clear answer to this question.
Current Setup
Desktop application (c#) that connects to a SQL Server 2005 express database on the same local network as the application (currently 3 users)
It is only a very small company and has just taken on their first remote worker, but expects to take on another 6-8 over the next few months. They have asked for the database to be moved online.
The application was written in such a way that everything has been done using no stored procs, or views, it is all native SQL.
This will be my first DB hosted online and before I go ahead and do anything I just wanted to make sure what I have to do is correct, sorry if this is a very basic question, although I have been programming for a long time, I have never had the chance to do any online databases before.
Will this work.
1.Find a SQL Server 2005 Hosting company.
2.Move the database to the server.
3.Setup the users permissions.
3.Alter the connection string in the application to point to the new location.
So the only thing that would change would be a new connection string in the application preferences?
Or am I living in a dream world, because nothing is ever that simple.
One thing I am worried about is the security/visiblity of the database and data as it travels from the server to the client and back.

We have a database on our central servers that is the backend to a webapplication we have in ColdFusion. About 4 times a year, we have a userthat goes out to other locations without internet access that would needaccess to this application. I am setting up SQL audit on sql servers in my environment based on requirement. I want to create database specifications ASAP database created. I tried DDL trigger but Audit doesn't support triggers. So I created audit specifications on model database. the only problem with this is every specification created on new database with same name.database specification name includes newly created database name or other methods to create database specifications on newly created databases.

I need to organize the data for these orders into a structure that can be imported into my ERP application db frequently either on demand or periodically during the day. We are essentially trying to make the manual order entry process automated. My thought was to get the data into views that resemble the schema of the order table in my application db and then schedule a stored procedure with sql jobs or a load routine from within the ERP application that would insert data from the view into the order table.

I'm using SQL Server Management Studio Express and I'm trying to figure out how to copy a table(s) from my local database to my web hosting database. I know how to do it in 2000, but it's completely different now. Is this feature not allowed on SSMSE? If so, then how do I deploy database tables to a web host?Also, how do you add local database(s) to SSMSE? I tried to use 'attach database' in SSMSE and it wouldn't allow me to navigate to My Documents folder where the database resides. Thanks...

How do I insert data that I have collected in a local database onto a table on my online ie hosted database which is on a different server?
At the moment I am just uploading all the data to the hosted DB but this is wasting bandwith as only a small percentage of data is actually selected and used.
I thought that if i used a local DB and then update the table on my hosted DB this would be much more efficient, but I am not sure how to write the SQL code to do this!
Do I do some kind of
INSERT INTO sample_table
SELECT xxx
FROM origanal_table
Or is it more complicated than this?

Scenario: In general user will take database backup from database server to local system. User perform some changes to his local database based on his requirement. Again user connects to database server and click on update, local database should update to server database by informing each record status to the user. ex: record 1 updated / call closed do you want to update?

I have SQL 2000 SP4 running on a W2K server SP4.
The server acts as a subcriber and publisher and acts as its own distributor.
Each publication uses its own distribution agent and is set to loop.
There are 4 queued updating subscriptions on this box.
When running 3rd party tools to determine open active ports, the replication executables (distrib and logreader) are connecting to local server multiple times. Easily 15+ established connections plus many more waits.
Everything connects to 1433 then opens a new port.
Is this because of the queued updating?
Replication is functioning as it should without any problems.
I even checked our 2 main distribution servers which only act as distributors and there is not one connection from replication to itself.
Any insight would be appreciated

HiAs i have read, there have been discussions before how to move a local MDF databas to MSsql server at a webhost.But i cant figure it out, i know the answere is out there but i cant find it.I have downloaded the Host Deployment tool that generates a .sql file from my database, it looks ok.The problem is that my host dont allow me to execute this. Is there anyway that a mdf file that i have build in VWD 2005 can work as a standalone database?I would like it to be as a .mdb database that is simple to move and so on.
Or do the mdf database have to have a MSsql Express or a MSsql Server?

Am I just out of luck on this? I can't use the "copy database" feature since I'm using Express. I can't get the actual files since the database is on a shared server. I know I'm not the only person with this issue; I see people asking the question but I don't see any answers.
Is there any way I can copy this database?

I've just started with a company that had a web developer in to set up their site. She set it up with Coldfusion and MS SQL Server, uploaded the whole thing to their provider, then disappeared. Then the whole thing got dumped in my lap, and I'm pretty new to both SQL Server and Coldfusion.
My first question is, how can I access the SQL Server database online? It's somewhere on the web host's site, and I have the name of it and the password, but I have no clue how I'm supposed to get a look at the thing. Is there a file I should be able to find? Can anyone provide a clue?

One of our database size 90 Gb was backed up and restored on a standyby server with NoRecovery option .A Stored Procedure was written to do production Database transaction log Backup every 15 min and restore the Tlog File on Standby server.
Once the last transaction log file is restored on standby server the tlog file is deleted.
Now due to some reason the restore tlog job failed but the tlog file got deleted.
Now till we will not restore the last database backup we will not be able to start the restore tlog job.
Now the database is in restoring mode.Is there any methord to get that database online without any transactionlog.

I have a hard time copying my db (or instance?) from a SQL Server 2000 db which resides at my web host. I have Sql Server 2005 Express and Sql Server Management Studio Express on my computer and, well, there is no "ftp-like" option so I don't have a clue about how to proceed. I've read many posts on the net on this matter but nothing seems to apply to this, in my mind, rather common, configuration.
I have receieved Excel docs that should be appended to tables in my db. I have successfully installed DTS (see http://mobiledeveloper.wordpress.com/ for details - it's really simple but takes two hours) so I have a wizard for the actual import from Excel. My plan is now to
1. download/detach/whatever my table/db/part of the web host's db and download it to my computer. Then
2. fill the tables with the data from Excel. And finally, to
3. upload/attach/whatever my local db or table to the web host again.
I'm sooo confused, please, please help me out here!

Is it possible to setup replication for a particular database from an SQL2005 database server to a SQL2000 database server.
I've searched a few forums and the MS knowledge base but can't find a specific answer.
Hopefully someone can point this novice in the right direction.

If I want to let people come to a wesite and login and let them look at information pages and I also want the database to be used by staff of the organization.
So I would have people logging in over the Internet as well as logging in local to use the same database, but the online people would be restrickted to only some of the pages.
What would the basic database design look like.
