Hi.everyone.I use two computer in workgroup.I use A to be a publisher and distributor ,B to a Subscrible. When i create a snop in A computer and Create snopshot in "C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQL
epldataunc",when I use "view Synchronization Status" in B computer, the show "job already success start",but in A computer sqlserver error log show "Message

I find a lot of message in internet ,but no one can help me .I try use same account and password in two computer.but no help.
I am getting this error on replication and don't know why. Any ideas?

Hello all, I am running into an interesting scenario on my desktop. I'm running developer edition on Windows XP Professional (9.00.3042.00 SP2 Developer Edition). OS is autopatched via corporate policy and I saw some patches go in last week. This machine is also a hand-me-down so I don't have a clean install of the databases on the machine but I am local admin.
So, starting last week after a forced remote reboot (also a policy) I noticed a few of the databases didn't start back up. I chalked it up to the hard shutdown and went along my merry way. Friday however I know I shut my machine down nicely and this morning when I booted up, I was in the same state I was last Wenesday. 7 of the 18 databases on my machine came up with
FCB:pen: Operating system error 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.) occurred while creating or opening file 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataTest.mdf'. Diagnose and correct the operating system error, and retry the operation. and it also logs FCB:pen failed: Could not open file C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataTest.mdf for file number 1. OS error: 32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.).
I've caught references to the auto close feature being a possible culprit, no dice as the databases in question are set to False. Recovery mode varies on the databases from Simple to Full. If I cycle the SQL Server service, whatever transient issue it was having with those files is gone. As much as I'd love to disable the virus scanner, network security would not be amused. The data and log files appear to have the same permissions as unaffected database files. Nothing's set to read only or archive as I've caught on other forums as possible gremlins. I have sufficient disk space and the databases are set for unrestricted growth.
Any thoughts on what I could look at? If it was everything coming up in RECOVERY_PENDING it's make more sense to me than a hit or miss type of thing I'm experiencing now.
Hi I am using VWD 2008, SQL Express 2005, Reporting Services, Win-XP, IIS5Basically let's say I have 2 pages:Page1: has a SQLDataSource control that populates a GridView from a table from a database file myDB.mdf (no code behind)Page2: has a reportviewer control that show a report with data from the same table from myDB.mdf from the reportserver, (no code behind)I have attached myDB.mdf to the SQL Server Express using the SQL Server Management Studio Express. If I first open Page2 to display the ReportViewer it works ok. or using the Report ManagerNow this is the problem:If after that I try to open Page1 then a get an error message:Cannot open user default database. Login failed.Login failed for user 'myServerASPNET'. Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot open user default database. Login failed.Login failed for user 'myServerASPNET'.Then I have to restart the SQL Server to fix it,Now I can open Page1 ok, but if after this I try to open Page2 (ReportViewer) againThen I get this error:" An error has occurred during report processing. o Cannot create a connection to data source 'my_Datasource'. &And this error if open the report using the report manager:" An error has occurred during report processing. o Cannot create a connection to data source 'my_Datasource'. § Unable to open the physical file "C:InetpubwwwrootWebsiteApp_DatamyDB.mdf". Operating system error 32: "32(The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)". &Now if i check the Management Studio Express again, you can see that myDB.mdf was detached. It seems to be there by it has no Tables or definitions, so I have to attach it again..Do you know how to fix this? Thanks in advance,Ed
OBJECTIVE: I would like to read a text file from SQL Server 2000, read the text file content, and load its conntents in a RichTextBoxTHINGS I'VE DONE AND HAVE WORKING:1) I've successfully load a text file (ex: textFile.txt) in sql server database table column (with datatype Image) 2) I've also able to load the file using a Handler as below: using System;using System.Web;using System.Data.SqlClient;public class HandlerImage : IHttpHandler {string connectionString;public void ProcessRequest (HttpContext context) {connectionString = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["NWS_ScheduleSQL2000"].ConnectionString;int ImageID = Convert.ToInt32(context.Request.QueryString["id"]);SqlConnection myConnection = new SqlConnection(connectionString);string Command = "SELECT [Image], Image_Type FROM Images WHERE Image_Id=@Image_Id";SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(Command, myConnection);cmd.Parameters.Add("@Image_Id", System.Data.SqlDbType.Int).Value = ImageID;SqlDataReader dr;myConnection.Open(); cmd.Prepare(); dr = cmd.ExecuteReader();if (dr.Read()){ //WRITE IMAGE TO THE BROWSERcontext.Response.ContentType = dr["Image_Type"].ToString();context.Response.BinaryWrite((byte[])dr["Image"]);}myConnection.Close();}public bool IsReusable {get {return false;}}}'>'> <a href='<%# "HandlerDocument.ashx?id=" + Eval("Doc_ID") %>'>File </a>- Click on this link, I'll be able to download or view the file WHAT I WANT TO DO, BUT HAVE PROBLEM:- I would like to be able to read CONTENT of this file and load it in a string as belowStreamReader SR = new StreamReader()SR = File.Open("File.txt");String contentText = SR.Readline();txtBox.text = contentText;BUT THIS ONLY WORK FOR files in the server.I would like to be able to read FILE CONTENTS from SQL Server.PLEASE HELP. I really appreciate it.
Hi, I'm trying to upload the ASPNETDB.MDF file to a hosting server via FTP, and everytime when it was uploaded half way(40% or 50%) I would get an error message saying: "550 ASPNETDB.MDF: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" and then the upload failed. I'm using SQL Express. Does anybody know what's the cause? Thanks a lot
I was given a 2 GB XML file without an XSD. I need to find the element names. I know how to do that using openxml but it takes forever on a file this large. Is there a faster way to do it using xquery?
I have a File System Task Copy file operation to copy a file in an SSIS package. The package when scheduled as a job fails with the following error:
The process cannot access the file 'C:ETLConsignmentAppleAppleRawFile.txt' because it is being used by another process.".
However when I right click on the package and execute it manually from the Integration Services it runs successfully without any problem. I am not certain on how to resolve this issue any inputs will be much appreciated.
Error: 0xC002F304 at Rename file 1, File System Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.".
When running two File System Tasks after each other, with the same file, the file is still locked when running the second task. Resulting in an error: 0xC002F304 at Rename file 1, File System Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.".
I found a workaround by addind a Execute Process Task before the second File System Task that pings to the localhost. This results in a 5 second delay, but there must be a better solution. Anyone?
hi, I have not done any replication process before . but I am trying to learn it . so I have the sql server reside in a window NT4.0 (first NT server )and I am using window workstation which has a client utility to manage the database. What I am thinking to do is to have a nother pc that has a window NT4.0 (second NT server) and sql server 6.5 installed. so what is my question.
Can I control the replication process from the workstation by using the utility tools to replicate the database from the first NT server ( source database ) into the second NT server
I need to write a process to get file size in kb and record count in a file. I was planning on writing a c# console app that takes the file path and name as a param however should i use a CLR?
I cant put a script in the ssis when it's bringing the file down because it has been deemed that we only use ssis for file consumption.
I need find out the number of columns in flat file before i process that particular file.I have file name in @filename variable and file path is @filepath variable. But do not not that how i will check the column name in before i will process that file.
@filePath = C:DatabaseSourceFilesCAHCVSSourceFiles And i am using for each loop container to read the file one by one and put the file name in @filename variable.and my file name like
Now what i have to do is i need to make sure that ID,Name,City,County,Phone is there in flat file.if it is not there then i have to send mail to client saying that file is not valid.I need to also calculate the size of flat file.
Hello Experts, I am createing one task (user control) in SSIS. I have property grid in my GUI and 2 buttons (OK & Cancle). PropertyGrid has Properties like SourceConnection, OutputConnection etc....right now I am able to populate Connections in list box next to Source and Output Property.
Now my question to you guys is depending on Source Connection it should read that text file associated with connection manager. After validation it should pick header (first line of text file bases on record type) and write it into new file when task is executed. I have following code for your reference. Please let me know I am going in right direction or not.. What should go here ? ->Under Class A
I have a filetable that contains a binary file. I need to do a selective read of the file stored in the file table. I can write a C# CLR function that will open the file, read n bytes the from a starting byte. Or I can write a SQL statement that reads the stream in the filetable into a VARBINARY variable using SUBSTRING beginning at the starting byte (offset from 1) for the same n bytes.
Both give me the same result. However, the SQL statement takes considerably longer to read. I know there is overhead in reading through SQL (interpreted language), but the difference in performance is substantial, and I can only attribute this performance degradation if SQL first tries to "load" the entire stream before it identifies the portion of the stream that it needs to read beginning at the starting byte offset.
I wonder if this is the case or if there is another option to read a stream from a filetable directly through SQL queries that is more efficient.
Unable to open the physical mdf file or log file because it is being used by another process
I am trying to write a Windows Application using ASP.NET 2.0, C#2005 EXPRESS, and SQL 2005 EXPRESS.
I had followed the introductory video to create a connection to the Database using Windows Authentication, and use the wizard to create a dataset and checking all the tables in the database.
After that I dragged a table from the data source created from the above process. The Details Grid so created is able to perform update, delete and addition of records.
But when I went back to the database at my PC I wasnt able to connect to the database. And if I opened the database first and then load the windows application and perform some database operations and went back to the physical database I wasnt able to open the tables in the database.
The error message is that the physical database connection cannot open the .mdf file or log file because another process is using the database. I guess it refers to the Windows Application.
Is this normal? Will it have any implications after the application is deployed? I suppose that there isnt a scenario where a Windows application and a physical process will access the database at the same time.
Will appreciate some feedback and advice on this scenario and whether it is a problem.

i had configured a merge replication betwen 2 server and i was running fine. but due to network problems my network admin has changed the ip address and name of the publisher, distributor and subscriber.
i just want to delete all the publication and subscription.. but i cannt' do this.. i m getting some sql server error.. is there any command that i can execute to reset the replication process that will delete all the publication and subcription. and then i create a new publication and subscription
Using SQL CE 3.1 merge replication. Working fine, but want to make subscription read only. In other words, master/slave pattern. How is this accomplished?
Hi, I am trying to replicate a production database server,on sql server 2000 at a particular geographic location to a new failover database server on sql server 2000 in a different geographic location via internet. The intention here is to use the failover database during times when the production server is down or busy and the synchronization needs to be sceduled for every 10 min. It will be of huge help if any expert could give the detailed process involved and any precautions that need to be taken. I also need to keep inmind to use the ever/odd sequence number generator during the replication implementation. Also, Whether to use row-level or column-level tracking?
One of our users tried to set replication solution in a sqlserver (the idea was given up). SQL Server added in each table a column related to replication. We want to remove theses columns and I used the following script :
select 'ALTER TABLE dbo.'+object_name(id)+' DROP CONSTRAINT '+object_name(constid)+' GO' +'ALTER TABLE dbo.'+object_name(id)+' DROP COLUMN '+'msrepl_tran_version GO' from sysconstraints where object_name(constid) like '%msrep%'
Question: 1. I want to know how to introduce a carraige return in order to have some thing like this :
... ALTER TABLE dbo.T_CommandCopyFile DROP CONSTRAINT DF__T_Command__msrep__44AB0736 GO ALTER TABLE dbo.T_CommandCopyFile DROP COLUMN msrepl_tran_version ... 2. Is there any other solution to do this more simply ?
I am getting this error during Merge Replication "Unable to synchronize the row because the row was updated by a different process outside of replication."
I could not reproduce this error in my development enviornment, can anyone tell me what is cause of the above error and how do I reproduce this error in my development machine? I am able to get which is outside process?
The Conflict Type is 10 for above error which is logged into Conflict Table.
Everyday between 18:00 and 20:00 nearly 1000 PDA Subsriber anonymously synchronise via Merge Replication and at least two time he have the error :
IIS Worker Process Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, faulting module sscerp20.dll, version 2.0.7331.0, fault address 0x000110f4.
And subscriber which synchronising meanwhile becomes suspect.
Can someone offer a suggestion as to the cause of and correction for this error?
Thanks,
Hakan G

I need information on adjusting the priority of the replication thread(s) within SQL Server 2000. All I've been able to find is how-to's on adjusting the priority of the SQL Server process itself, as well as information on how to adjust the relative priority of changes made to the database by subscribers.
Here's the situation, from time to time our replication system goes down, it starts itself up after waiting 5 minutes but this causes a problem. When its starting up it seems to be taking up far too many CPU cycles. As such the server is unable to process SQL queries, which forces its subscribers to time out. This is a bad thing as the subscribers are control systems on an assembly line. What I want to do is lower the priority of replication so that the server can still process queries while the replication agent is restarting itself. Is this possible? If so how can it be done?
I'm in a project to replicate a database from the production environment to another sql server.
The idea is use it for some biggest querys because in the production database we had experimenting various problems. What is the best way for do it? Transactional replication? Log Shipping? I'm reading absolutely everything but I can not get decide.
Both servers are SQL Server 2008 R2 and they are in the same LAN.
I'm trying to setup transaction replication between 2 servers. This is a one-way replication: Server A to Server B, not Server B to Server A.
I am able to replicate all the tables except one. I added commands to the agent so that it would create an output file, possibly with more or better information.
Here is a portion of the error causing the failure
Agent message code 20037. The process could not bulk copy into table '"tblSuppContractFee"'. Can somebody help me in finding a solution for this error? I don't see any Error Text and there are no resources available for the error code throwing up in the log file.
We're going to use replication on our database. There are tables without any primary key.
Is a primary key necessary for replication?
I have also antoher question: We want to replicate the whole OLTP database (size 30 GB).
Is snapshot replication a suitable mechanisme for this? I thougt snapshot replication overwrites all of the data, not only changed data. Or should we use another replication method?
We have many users with a mobile application running SQL Mobile and using merge replication to get data back to the SQL 2008 R2 database. This has worked very well for many years.
We now have a requirement to have this data reported on using Reporting Services. This is where it gets messy.
Due to a limitation of Report Builder(see this blog) we cannot provide access to users for creating their own reports. The report database is remote from the host and there is no VPN.
We hit upon the idea of creating an almost identical publication but the articles as read-only. It was only after this was done that we started having trouble with our existing mobile users.
It seems that a published article is EITHER Bi-directional OR Read-only even if they are in separate publications.
I then thought of using Transactional Publication but this too is blocked on creation with "automatic identity range support is useful only for publications that allow updating subscribers"(Merge and Transactional publication are mutually exclusive)
So in the final analysis is there a way for me to have merge replication AND some other form of SQL replication/data transfer that can have the same data transmitted readonly to a separate full SQL server database?
It would be a stored procedure that would read the XML attributes into 2 tables, the number of attributes could be 1-N, so I thought XML would be a good choice. Also, one of the attributes could be up to 4000 characters. I think this may limit our options, can 100-150 4000 character strings be passed in a standard call to a query/proc in SQL?
Currently the client application makes round-trip network calls to save upwards of 100 pairs of data. 1 header row, and many detail rows. All within a transaction.
I think If we move an XML file to the SQL box, then do all the import/save work on the "Server" side it would be much better. Cutting the transaction time down a lot by not doing so many round-trips at network speed...
