I have managed to get reporting services running on Vista, but when I open report manager, I don't see the "Contents" or "Properties" tabs. I get the "SQL Server Reporting Services - Home" header and the links on the top right, but no tabs along the yellow or blue lines. I also have created and deployed a report but it does not show up in Report Manager.

I have a report in SQL Reporting Services that isn't displaying correctly. The report comprises a header and a simble table, typically consisting of 20 to 30 columns and 1-20 rows.
When I run the report IE, the table is truncated and only the first five columns are displayed. I can get the table to display correctly by doing one of the following:
Changing the report zoom - once the zoom has been changed, the report displays correctly even back at the default 100%
Moving to the next report page, then back to the first page
Refreshing the report by right-clicking and selecting 'Refresh' (not using the refresh button in the tool bar) What seems strange is that if I copy the truncated table from IE to Excel, the full table is copied so it appears that what I'm seeing is some kind of display issue. I've trawled Google and the forums but to no avail - can anyone help?
I am having problems displaying time values in my SSRS report. below is info. Tried expressions still does not work. I want the values to show what in the SQL Server table 00:00:00.82. I tried stored proc still does not work.
SQL Server table time value shown in milliseconds: 00:00:00.82
STR(YEAR(DATEENTERED)) + '/' + STR(MONTH(DATEENTERED)) + '/' + STR(DAY(DATEENTERED)) AS DATETIME ) AS Date,
[From], [To], [Company], [Catagory], [Client], [Description], [TotalHours] FROM [JcpowersJobs]"
It will show correctly in the query builder test but when you load it up in the gridview it will show the date AND 12:00:00AM for every one of the dates
I tried replacing DATETIME with VARCHAR but it would insert spaces into the date where I didn't want them: EX: (12/04/1994 => 12/ 04/ 1994)
I have an Excel spreadsheet with three columns of data, one of which is a "Score". The score will range between 1.0 and 0, going out to two decimal places. I am able to get this data into a global temporary table. I have a script in which a message box pops up, displaying the MIN value of the "Score" field in the temp table. The MIN value is .2. When I try to get the data from the temp table to a staging table, the Scores are all rounded to the nearest whole number. I think I've tried using every numeric data type for the staging table, and I always get the same results. In the temp table, Score is defined as such:
[Score] [decimal](18, 0) NULL
Does anybody know what I need to do to get the score to display acccurately?
I have a stored procedure using UNION joins on three SQL queries. Sadly, I'm only now learning how to use Stored Procedures, so if this is a really dumb question, please forgive me. I'm not used to big UNION statements like this either... usually I'm just programming websites to serve information out pretty simply :) I need to return one result set, sorted by date... one complete result per day. eg: 5/15/2007 | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX |5/16/2007 | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX |5/17/2007 | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | XX | Currently, when I run the query, I'm getting three separate date values for each date... eg:5/15/2007 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 |5/15/2007 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 |5/15/2007 | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX |5/16/2007 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 |5/16/2007 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX | 00 | 00 |5/16/2007 | 00 | 00 | 00 | 00 | XX | XX |etc How do I fix this? I've looked through my query ad naseum and don't see anything that sets me off as "wrong". Here is the stored procedure if you can help. I'd really really love the help!

The row counts I am getting from SQL Enterprise Manager and QueryAnalyzer are different. When I double click a table in EnterpriseManager it gives me a row count of say 1000. However, when I select *from that same table in Query Analyzer it returns 1028 rows. Anyoneknow why or better yet, how to fix it? Thanks!

For some reason whenever I look at the SQL statement of a particular table, the table name displays twice. For example,SELECT * FROM State StateEven when I execute this statement, it still returns the correct results. It does this for all tables in this particular database. I also check another database and thoses display the table names in the SQL statements correctly. Does anyone know why the table name would display twice in a table inside of a particular database?
Does anyone know a way to display the header of a sub report when the sub report is part of a main report? Im able to get the main report and the sub report to display properly, but the header of the previously developed/tested sub report will not display when embedded in a main report.
I have a report viewer control within a web user control which i am using to display the report. The report has been designed within a Visual Studio Report Server project and it looks fine when previewed here but when i deploy the report to the reporting server the table rows within my report become stretched and there are other formatting issues, the formatting issues occur when the report is viewed from both reporting services server and my webpage. When the report is exported to a pdf from my website it looks fine why is the report not rendering correctly.
I am trying to create a drill-down report by passing the Customer ID number to the drill report. The 'parent' report is a tabular report, as is the 'child.' As long as I used the numeric Customer ID, the child report returned no rows from the passed parameter. However, when I use the Customer Name instead, the child report functions correctly.
Here is the parameter as passed using the Customer ID: [Customer Hierarchy].[Customer ID].&[70011231]
Can anyone shed some light on why this wouldn't work?
A user was created with a limited privilege under the USERS group. Once this user loged in the Report Manager he is acting like an Admin and Content Manager, though he is not given even a browser role.
What do u think that this guy is acting like a Super User evenif he is restricted to a browser role on the Report Manager ????????????
Insert Into Table2 Select * From Table1 Where Column1Val = '4'
As you can see, I don't need any parameters so I havent configured any. Also, there should not be any result set so I shouldnt need to configure a resultset parameter.
Why is the above query failing with
Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly
I have a report that has ten pages (essentially ten different reports). Each page has one, large main chart and then three smaller charts stacked on top of each other off to the right. The layout is in landscape. When I render the report in Reporting Services, the layout looks fine. If I export it to Adobe, it is also fine. However, when the report is emailed as a PDF attachment, the main chart on each page is completely missing. Has anybody experienced something simliar? I was having issues with the layout, and decreasing the height of each page fixed everything, but created this new problem. I am using Adobe 7.0. Thank you.
I am facing some issue in rendering my SSRS report(2012 version) to excel sheet with color codes. i am using conditional formatting to display the colors. So what is happening is ,take the below expression as an example, for the id = 0, we are not getting white back ground, we are getting some other colors. But the same thing is working fine in SSRS 2008R2.
In an asp.net app I'm creating email attachments from ssrs reports and am rendering them In Word and Excel using the WORDOPENXML and EXCELOPENXML format extensions. When I render the report in excel, the image is sized correctly, however, when I render the same report in word, its very small. I will attach a screenshot of each, and in the word screenshot, I will select the image so you can see the image control's outline (the control's actual size). Notice the image inside of the border is very small. How can I resolve this?
I have a report and I display specific images based on the parameter selected. i.e. If parameter value = "1" then I display "image1.jpg". The images were added as a part of the project so I was able to display the images by setting the value property on the images to the image file name. So if I want to display image1.jpg then I would set the value property of the image to "image1.jpg". Now I have decided to create a folder called "images" in which I want to keep all the images. So I have removed the images from the project. In the value property of the image when I put "/images/image1.jpg" it doesnt work. I have also tried "images/image1.jpg" When I run the report in the Preview mode, the image is not shown. How do i fix this? The directory struncture is so:
Hello Guys, I am trying to display image on a report. The image field is stored as a binary data in the database. I am using webservice to access the database and return datasets through which data on the report can be accessed. I saw that the xml returns binarystring value from the database. but when i try to display the image it does not show me anything except blank page. I checked the value of the binary data and it does not proceed with ox and tried appending 0x value but no luck. Guys please help me.
We mark cells in a report using color names like red, pink, and transparent in the fill expression. In the browser it works correctly. When exported to Excel the colors go to the wrong cells. This worked correctly in SSRS 2008.
In the report I'm working on, I want to display a list of the parameters selected by the user, as in:
Selected Cars: Toyota Camry Ford Taurus Chevy Corvette Saturn Ion
Note that these are selected items from a multi-value parameter. How can I go about doing this with Reporting Services 2005? In ASP.NET, I'd just use the parameter array as the datasource for a repeater/datagrid/gridview. Could I do something similar with SSRS? I'd really like to use the format specified above, whether or not it is in a table; I really don't want to do the following:
Selected Cars: Toyota Camry, Ford Taurus, Chevy Corvette, Saturn Ion.
Is there a way to create an expression that references the DataSets / Queries? I'd like to be able to create an expandable text box that shows the raw sql query used to generate the report.
I am creating a report using report builder and I am using several fields from various entities. Is there a way to sort the data in the report using a field that is not being displayed in the report? The "sort and group" option lists only fields that are selected for output in the report... but is there a way to do sorting using a field that is not displayed in the report?

I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.
I have written a report visual studio. The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free. When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. None of the headers or static text is displayed. The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax. We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
