Report Server First Time Configuration: Provider Load Failure
Dec 13, 2006I'm trying to do the above using the Reporting Services Configuration Manager and I can't even connect. I get the error Provider Load Failure.

As suggested on other threads, I have checked the reportingserviceswmi.dll and it is version 2005.90.1399.0 and the WMI service is running.
Any suggestions on what to do next?

I am having problem in connecting to the report server in SQL Server Management Studio. An msg said "Provider load failure" is displayed but i could deploy reports in Visual Studio and view them in IE browser by going to http://localhost/Reports.

Using the same laptop and credentials I can successfully load Report Builder ONLY from the LAN-side of the firewall. However, if I reconnect using my Sprint AirCard I cannot load Report Builder; I get the now infamous "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized."

Report Viewer Load Time
Jun 19, 2007I have a Visual Studio 2005 web application Front End.
The front end is basically only used as a series of links to SQL Reports.
It seems that when you first click the links to access the reports, there is a slow response time to first load the report viewer. Then after a while of accessing the page, I suppose some of the components are cached so the page loads faster.
Is there a way to automatically cache the pages or any other way to decrease response time on the report viewers?
Edit: To clarify, it first takes around 10-15 seconds to load the .aspx that contains the report viewer. Then it takes around 5-10 seconds to load the report viewer and the report. Is there any way to minimize these times? It seems to speed up the more the page is accessed, but is there a sure-fire way?

We have four Windows 2003 advance servers with SP 3 configured on NLB.
Each of them has one NIC.
Recently we started to get frequent time-out error messages from web applications on those servers when they try to establish the connection with the SQL 2005. If you run web pages application to connect to sql server 10 times, 9 times you will get good connection results and 1 time you will get time-out.

Dec 10, 2007I get the following error and have been trying to figure out why I keep getting it. Initially, I had placed my project under wwwroot folder and ran it under IIS and it gave this error. Then I moved it to my local C drive and same thing. I am sharing this project with two other co-workers and all our config files and code files are same...they don't get this error but I do. I checked that SQL Server Client Network Utility has TCP/IP and the 'Named Pipes' enabled. I thought maybe I have setting in the Visual Studio 2005 that I'm not aware of that's causing this problem...it can't be the server since my co-workers aren't having this error and can't be anything in the code since all of us are sharing this project through vss. I dont' think using different version of .net framework can create this error. I changed the version from 2.0 to use 1.1x and it gave same error... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have recently downloaded Orcas beta VS product and had no previous version of VS before. The install went clean and I have been able to generate Window apps and web apps with very little issues; however, I have one issue with running a web app using the "view in browser" option for checking an aspx page for validity. If I use the default Northwind database provided and generate an aspx form using the "DataSet" toolbox widget, the tool prompts for the datasource etc. required to generate the required code. I can select the Northwind database and select the desired columns from one of the tables. Once completed, I build the project (clean build) and then select the "view in browser" option to verify the results. The result is an error page indicating a server error ->

I created on odbc connection to an iSeries(as400) box and was successfull in displaying the table on the webpage! I looked into the web.config file and it appears that all the required XML data is present. Any help would be appreciated as I am fairly green when it comes the .NET world.

Load All Data Without Knowing Old One Was Load In The Previous Time???
Apr 27, 2007I just have done the SSIS example in the tutorial document included when install SQL 2005 ENT. I have a problem that whenever I test to run, the service load all data from source with out noticing about the data (I mean it load all the data to the destination), I do it several time and it continue to load all without checking. That mean the data is dublicated when the schedule run???
I think there should be a paramete or something like that to help the engine just load the new data to the destination. Could you help please?

SQL Server Make ASP.net Load Slower At The First Time From Localhost.
Feb 16, 2004I dont know if it's just a beginner issue.
My ASP.net project with database connection inside, I mean DataBound or whatever the name is make my website load slower because there's a delay about 8 til 9 seconds when in its first load from localhost, after the first load my ASP.net project run very fast and it just take 1 second or less to reload.
The problem will show up again after I restart my computer and trying to load my project from localhost at the first time.
How do I make my ASP.net project to load very fast with just 1 second or less at the first time from localhost?

Oracle claims that its software is compliant with Microsoft ADO.NET 2.0 and €ś€¦more flexible, faster, and more stable€¦.€?. On top of it Oracle introduced many new features €ś€¦ not available from other .NET drivers€¦€?.

I decided to give it a shot and try in SSIS.
I installed ODP.NET on my machine and it works just fine in PL/SQL Developer
Next, I opened Data Source Wizard in BIDS for SSIS project.
I see Oracle Data Provider for .NET option is enlisted under .NET Providers node on a tree. But when I select it, I am getting an error dialog:
Failed to find or load the registered .Net Framework Data Provider.
So what could be done in such scenario?

Bulk Load Failure
May 10, 2006I have numerous jobs that use the Bulk Load object to transfer data. Once or twice a day, one of the jobs will fail with the folowing error:
Error: 0xC0202009 at Data Flow Task, SQL Server Destination [73]: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E14.
An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client" Hresult: 0x80040E14 Description: "Could not bulk load because SSIS file mapping object 'GlobalDTSQLIMPORT ' could not be opened. Operating system error code 8(Not enough storage is available to process this command.). Make sure you are accessing a local server via Windows security.".
Error: 0xC0202071 at Data Flow Task, SQL Server Destination [73]: Unable to prepare the SSIS bulk insert for data insertion.
After receiving this error, any job that uses the bulk load object that attempts to run will fail with the same error. After restarting the SQL Server service, all jobs will run ok.
I can find virtually nothing on this particular error so if you have seen it before please let me know. This has become a maintenance nightmare!

I get this error after I have opened VS and then open the Server Explorer Window.
I have been using VS2005 Professional since December of 2005 and have never encountered this before. I have never had a beta version of anything on this PC. I have been searching the Net but haven't found a solution. At this point, I haven't tried reloading VS because even if it does fix it, what is the guarantee that I will not encounter it again. I would rather find and fix the cause.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Additional: I have now uninstalled and reinstalled VS2005 and SQL Server 2005 including service packs and am still getting the error.

Jan 25, 2006HiOn our SQl Server (2000) we can have queries that take at least 10-20mins(require full table scan fo billion row table). When one of these queriesis running it substantailly slows down very quick queries (sub secondqueries take several seconds).I believe there is no way to set priorities but was wondering if thereare other configuration settings that could help. The server is dualprocessor so maybe setting maxdop to 1 will help. Memory size isdynmaically assigned up to 4Gb but as the DB size is > 1Tb I'm not sureif allowing this much memory is actually decreasing performance when thequick query trys to get through.Any suggestions.ThanksMike

Nov 6, 2007I originally developed SSIS packages with the destination DB to be SQL Server 2005 for unit testing on my desktop. We are planning on deploying to Oracle. After changing the Provider and other attributes in the configuration file the package loads, however there are lots of issues. The primary one is that the mappings are gone. I'm not sure if that is the result of how the table names are stored "Oracle"."File" versus [SQLSERVER].[File] . Even after attempting to change the way the table names appear I still get the message "the external metadata column is out of sync with the data source columns". Then it lists all of the columns that need to be added.
Is there any way to accomplish this that you are aware of.

Apr 9, 2007I'm attempting to install and configure Report Server for the first time.
In the "Configure Report Server" dialog box the first 5 tasks are successfully configured with green circles and check marks. ( Server Status, Report Server Virtual Directory, Report Manager Virtual Directory, Windows Service Identity, Web Service Identity)
Database Setup has a red circle with an X.
The following is returned in Task Status:

I've just finish re-installing VS.NET 2005 and tried the Walkthrough: Displaying Data in a Web Forms Page
I followed exactly as it is that is I tested the connection "Connection Sucessful", test Query "Successfull" but when i run it prompt me with the following error message:

BULK Insert Failure - OLE DB Provider 'STREAMS' Reported An Error
Nov 1, 1999Using BULK Insert with a format file I am receiving the following message:
Server: Msg 7399, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
OLE DB provider 'STREAMS' reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.
The statement has been terminated.
I am running SQL Server 7.0 w/ SP1 applied. The same data file and format files work fine if I use bcp.
The data file contains fixed length records.
Any ideas what the problem is?
Package Failure Still Causing Partial Load
Jan 16, 2007I have a package that is failing because of a truncation error. Now, by default (and I leave this for ALL my packages) if one row fails processing the entire package should fail and nothing gets loaded into db. But instead I am actually getting a partial db load.
I have confirmed the "Rows per btach" value (blank) and the "Maximum insert commit size" value (0) for the OLE DB Destination Editor so I have no idea what is going on. Are there any other properties I should be checking?

Cannot Load The Report Server DocumentLibrary Extension
Jan 9, 2008I receive event ID 108 every day only once the first time I modify a subscription. We have two instances of Reporting Services on the same box in seperat SQL instances; one is native and the other is SharePoint integrated. The issue is with the native instance. The error information along with hardware and software information is below.
Does anyone know why this happens?

Configuration File Locations - Likes To Say It Can't Load Them In Designer
Feb 28, 2006I have a package and added a configuration file to it to hold settings such as connection strings etc.
When I open the package up in the designer and check where the configuration file is from, it likes to specify it with a full path like this:
\myserverprojectspackageslah.xml
Where blah.xml is the configuration file and the package file is in the same exact directory.
This creates an issue when I use build and then try to install the package on a server. When installing, the server tries to read the config from \myserverprojectspackageslah.xml which it can not.
Conversely I've tried editing the location in the designer changing it to just be "blah.xml". Then after using the build option I am able to install the package successfully on the server (it can not find the xml file).
However when I then load the package later in the designer to try to edit or chagne it, the designer complains that the "configuration file could not be loaded" and it can't find it even though it is in the same directory that the package definition file is in.
What's going on with this and how do i solve it?
Large Report Time Out On Report Server 2005.

I am getting timeout or connection closed error on report server when i try to create snapshot for a large report on my development machine.Snapshot are getting created for small reports.
I have done following changes to rsreportserver.config
<Add Key="SQLCommandTimeoutSeconds" Value="1000000"/>
<Add Key="DatabaseQueryTimeout" Value="1000000"/>
and
IIS time out to some large value.
But everytime it shows timeout or connection closed forcibly.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Integration Services :: Shared Memory Provider - Timeout Error 258 / Communication Link Failure
Apr 1, 2014When running the etl I'm getting the error: <SSIS Task>: Shared Memory Provider: Timeout error [258] ; followed by the message "Communication link failure".
What is special about this message that it happens on a SQL Execute task (random task) and the Timeout is after 2 minutes.
When executing the packages separatly it is working fine. The SQL Tasks that are failing are also quit heavy, but reasonable and takes between >2min and 10 - 15 min. Statements are stored procedures that puts an index on 3 mil. records or update statements,...
I had a look to all my (SSIS-etl)Â timeouts and they have the default value 0, the "remote query timeout" of the server is set to 10 minutes. According to me, these are the only one that exists?
There are 2instances on the server each instance has 24GB allocated, the server has 64 in total. Also when the etl runs (that results in an error) no other etl is running on the 2 instances. I'm working with the oledb sql server native client11.0 provider : SQLNCLI11.1.
