Data-Driven Subscription On A Report Containing Sub-Reports?

Hi,

Is it possible to have a data-driven subscription over a report containing sub-reports? I have been trying but without sucess...

I was unable to create the data-driven over the report... only over a linked report to that same report, but even that way when i execute the subscription i get error...

If i create a the data-driven subs to every single sub-report it works fine! So why can't i create the data-driven over the report with those sub-reports? What can be causing the problem?

Waiting For User Prompt When Running Report Builder Reports

I have created some reports using Report Builder however they autorun with default values when selected in report manager, cant think many people would want this to happen. Is there a way of getting rid of the default values in RB or preventing auto execute in RM?

I've created a subscription and scheduled it to run but I get the following message:

Failure sending mail: The transport failed to connect to the server.

Anyone any ideas why? or what I can do to fix it?

No Reports Has Delivered After Subscription

Hi

I tried to deliver a report using data driven subscriptions option. But It does not process. In report manager, under status bar, it indicates 0 processing of 12 total; 0 errors.
Although there is no error I can not see any reports on the shared folder.
But when I go to Mngt Studio and select the specific report and try to refresh that reports subscription I get the following error.

Error Creating Subscription To Reports

Hi all,

I am having a HUGE issue with SSRS, I am running SQL 2005 on Win 2003 server, the SQL uses SQL and windows permissions.

I have a datasource which stores it credentials securely on the server but for some reason when i try to subscribe to the report it errors saying

"Subscriptions cannot be created because the credentials used to run the report are not stored, or if a linked server the link is no longer valid."

Beats me but the credentials are stored, I am connecting using a user account which can run the report fine (This is proven).

I have SP1 installed, and have literally tried every last option in the book.

N.B i have read all the existing post about this and i seem to have a different issue, I am not using any paraeters in the report i am trying to test and i dont use anything like USR!USERID

Limit File Size Of Subscription Reports

I have a report subscription this is generating PDF files. The end user of the PDF files requires these files to be below a certain threshold in file size. Is there any way to set up a subscription to generate files that are under the threshold size?

If I knew approximately how many records would generate a report below the threshold, is there a way to generate several reports all of which are below the threshold?

Hi.

I'm using data-driven subscription to deliver reports to users via email.

However every few days or so, some of the reports will fail to get delivered to some of the subscribers. The rpts and subscribers affected are usually not the same.

Reporting Services :: SSRS Subscriptions Resend Reports For Each Subscription?

I have a Daily Invoice Report that has subscriptions for all customers and is run every night. The report has parameters of @date & @Customer. We had issues with invoices not being sent due to the Owner on the reports was disabled in Active Directory. We do not know how many reports did not get sent out so I am tasked with creating a script to rerun the reports for each day in August. I have queried the subscriptions, but need to figure out how to rerun the reports using the existing parameters set in the subscription, increment the report parameter date, and execute the emailing of the report.

Here is my query that gives me all the subscription information, but how do I rerun the job for all subscriptions for each date in August?

Subscription Reports Fail To Email While Others In The Same Batch Work Fine.

Data driven subscription uses a SQL query to create report parameter values.

The subscription errors are inconsistent meaning sometimes no reports in a batch fail and sometimes 3 out of 5 will fail. I don't think it is data related because I'm using the same data each time.

When a report fails to email there is a consistent error related to rendering a chart. That message is in red below.

The data source is Analysis Services 2000. Has anyone seen this before? I've seen a lot of postings that are similar but no solutions. Is it possible for RS to lose data or get corrupt data from an MDX query?

Is there a timeout between RS and Analysis Services (PivotTable Service) to check?

How do I prevent empty reports from being sent as part of a SQL Reporting Services subscription

I have reports based on a query that some time has data and other times does not. I only want the report sent to users via email through subscrption if there is data available.

I want to avoid sending a report without data. How can I set this up?

i just kicked off a job that starts a data driven subscription that generates ~200 excel spreadsheets.

I kind of expected them to appear in the execution log, and that the TimeEnd would reflect when they complete.

instead, it appears that the TimeEnd is when the SQLcommand finished executing, ie, a few milliseconds after the start.

it does not reflect when the report finishes completing; if i run sp_whoisactive, i see a stack of reports at a time clawing their way through the process. (ie i see calls to [CreateChunkStatement] and all the other steps a report kicks off.

Other than watching execution requests, how can i know if anything is running as far as subscriptions go?

Programmatically Determining If A Data Driven Subscription Is Running

Hi,

Quick question: how do I determine programmatically if a data driven subscription is currently running?

More info:
I��m writing a web application which allows the user to kick off an existing data driven subscription (reporting services 2000), which runs from a table with parameters, paths, etc which the user has populated.
The subscription can take several minutes to run, during which time I need to prevent other users from attempting to run the subscription or alter data on the table driving the subscription.
All I��ve found in the docs so far is
1. The ActiveState on the subscription.
This seems to have more to do with weather or not it can run than if it is running.
2. The status of the subscription.
This seems to only return ��done: {0} of {1} with {2} errors�? Parsing this is likely to be too flaky to be acceptable.

I really need to move on this as soon as possible, any help is appreciated.

Cannot Set The Subscription For Any Report Created By AS 2005 Through Report Builder.

I have created couple report through report builder which using AS cube as the data source. Every time when I try to access the New Subscription from the web UI. It complains about "Subscriptions cannot be created because the cedentals used to run the report are not stored, or if a linked report, the link is no longer valid.".

So I went into "Properties" -> "Data Source" and use the custom data source. I've selected "Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services" and put in the following Data Source=SQLTEST;Initial Catalog="Data Warehouse AS". I've select "Crednetials stored securely in the report server", using my Windows login and password.. and I've got the following error.

"
An error has occurred during report processing.

Query execution failed for data set 'dataSet'.

The SemanticQuery element at line 7, column 351 (namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/10/semanticmodeling) cannot appear under Envelope/Body/Execute/Command. "

Crystal Reports Running Slow ??

I have been tapped to help with fixing a reporting tool. We have a Sql Server database/crystal reports(10) setup. I havent had the chance to look at the tables in the DB yet, but I was told that aggregate tables were used. In my past experience with crystal reports, we used database views to feed crystal reports (in Oracle). I was thinking that I could somehow use views instead of tables and then try to re-index the base tables and compile satitics (if theres such a thing with Sql Server). I was also going to look into bottlenecking and locking (table locking as opposed to row or page locking for the lookup tables...to reduce overhead on the main tables) but, I'm not sure if it'll make a difference since this is just a demo server with no major traffic hitting it yet.

The question is, does anyone have any experience with crystal reports running slow with Sql Server, what should I look out for??

Automatically Running Reports Then Emailing Out

I'm hoping someone here will be able to guide me in the right direction. I am trying to figure out a way of looping through table columns or a flat file in which there will be three parameters every time. With these parameters I am then wanting to run a report using two of these parameters to feed into the report and then email this out to an email address which would be my third parameter. Does anyone here have any idea how I would go about doing this?

Reports Choke When Running On Demand...

I have a report that runs perfectly well when scheduled, but when run on demand it seems to put a ridiculous load on the target database, sometimes to the point of virtually halting the server. Is there any reason it should behave differently when run on demand than when it's scheduled? Thanks.

I have created a process that creates a file is a particular directory once the data has completed loading however I am unsure how to make the report look for this file and then refresh the report.

Running Total For Cell Reference In SQL Reports

I'm trying to do running total of the calculated field. Here is the detail of my RDL:

In a table, I have "textbox34" with the formula =count(Fields!ADF_NO.Value) in it and "textbox30" with the formula =first(Fields!TOTSTKS2.Value, "ProdServSales") - reportitems!TOTSTKS.value in it. I have divided "textbox 34" with "textbox30", and placed the results in "textbox36". Now, I want to do a cummulative total (Running total) of "textbox36", using the formula =runningvalue(reportitems!textbox36.Value, sum, nothing) in "textbox14". Its giving me an error saying:

"[rsAggregateReportItemInBody] The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox14' uses an aggregate function on a report item. Aggregate functions can be used only on report items contained in page headers and footers."

Any suggestions? I appreciate your help on this.

I created a report based on an OLAP cube in the report designer using SSRS 2005. One of the dimension in the cube contains of the name and email address. I want to set up the subscription to this report so that it will send out the report to the subsciber's email address in a pre-set schedule. How do I assign the "Name", "Email" and "Parameter" in the subscription page so that it will loop through each name to send out the report rather than to set up multiple subscriptions if there are 500 names in the dimension. Also the information contains in the report is strictly to that subscriber only i.e. "Name" of the subscriber will be used as a parameter in the subscription to the report. Thanks.

Report Subscription Setup?

I am trying to create a report subscription on my test sql server (2005). I noticed that the "New Subscription" and "New data driven subscription" options are disabled in SSMS. "Delete all subscriptions" is the only enabled option. I do have the sql server agent running. What else must I do to enable these options?
