I used a textbox with strikethrough font in my report. In preview, the report has that font and also in Print. But exporting to PDF has no strikethrough font. (Export to excel has this font). Can anybody help to resolve this.

I use the export option from the report viewer, I have problem that when it export, the width is too long and it wrap to next page. Is there anyway that i can set it to lanscape format before it export to pdf file?

Hi all,
We are currently using reporting services to display reports in our application.
Amongst the reports there is one that shows barcodes (using an idautomation font).
We've installed the font on every pc that uses the software, and it works on all but 4.
Now we've checked the following:
The user signs in on another pc and it works. So not user related
The user uses the font in a word document. So nothing wrong with the font itself.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
I would appreciate it.

I was wondering on a question that : exporting a report to xlsx is feature of SSRS server or of Report viewer control itself.I have multiple report servers (eg 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014) . I am using a windows application and reportviewer version 9.0.So when I use report server 2008 R2 its not showing the xlsx export option but working fine with other report servers.Again I changed the control to 11.0 (also 12.0) and checked the same scenario and same results with Reporting server 2008 R2 but working fine with 2012 and 2014. if its worth to change the Report Viewer control or just changing the server is okay to achieve the functionality of exporting to xlsx.

Was wondering if anyone might have some info in regards to this issue. I am using SSRS report viewer client in a asp.net page. I would like to restrict the export types in the export type dropdown list to 'pdf' only. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated!

I'm have two issues I need to work out.
1) - I need to get the RDL (the RDL format merged with the data, like a rendered report in RDL format) - to pass back to the client Report Viewer. Is there a way to do that? I do not see that as an optional output types.
2) - I need to export to a specific file/path from the client side Reportviewer.. Is this possible? Is there a lower level API for this?

i hv made a rdl having 2 tables.My requirement is to display the tables on different sheets of excel, so i hv inserted "Page Break At End" in table1.
As a result im getting tables in different sheets but second table (in sheet2) is starting from 2nd row of the sheet i.e. 1st row is coming as hidden, and i want to remove this row as client feed's this excel file in some other application.
If anyone is aware of the solution pl. reply ASAP.

I have a report that uses a Garamond font and it renders correctly in HTML, but when the report is converted to PDF, the font changes (I believe to a variation of Arial, but that seems irrelevant). My Operations team has installed the Garamond font on both the web server as well as the Report Server, but the problem is still occurring.

Hi all,
I'm using a free barcode font so i can create scannable tickets via reporting services 2k5. When I print the tickets, everything seems fine. But when i export to PDF though, it looks like the barcode font shrunk. All the lines are pulled together, making scanning impossible. Is there a certain setting or so that i can use to ensure the font's width ?

The weird thing is: when i export it inside visual studio, the barcode is shown as it is supposed to in the pdf !?

we use a 3of9 barcode font (TrueType). It works fine with Visual Studio, but when the report is run on the server, the font's width is false (2 times larger, but the correct height...).
We've test different font (barcode or not) and the problem occurs with all True Type fonts but not the True Type Outlines fonts... (and we not find any True Type Outlines barcode font)
Does anyone have an idea ?

Is it possible to setup different font size when a user is browsing or printing a report?
I have a lot of data to print on a report and i need tu use a font size of 7pt which is fine for printing but when the user is looking at the report on the browser a font size of 7pt is a bit too small and the bold doesn't work.

I made some Reports with some report parameters for filteration. When I run this report, I can make all changes in look of Reports but can not change look of this parameters it looks like simple Text Boxes with lables

Very strange phenomenon with the "Jump to report:" Hyerlink Actions when I deployed my reports to the production servers:
The Actions no longer funcioned properly when attempting to go to one report to another. Sometimes, the same report would come up and sometimes a different report. It appeared that whatever mechanism Report Server uses to construct the proper URL when using "Jump to report:" is unreliable(or the URL is not being honored by the web-server).
All this is happening under the Report Viewer control. I have had to do a painful fix of manually constructing the entire absolute URL and including the reportviewer control in the url.
Any way to get back relative Jump to report: URL's?

I have a problem using Report Viewer With SQL Reporting Services 2005.
I had a really weird issue with a ReportViewer. It would show the little green Loading progress bar image €¦ but it wouldn€™t show any data, just a white background where the output should be. I knew the data was there because exporting to Excel or PDF showed the data just fine.
The problem is report toolbar is display but NO DATA is displayed and the report comes out as EMPTY .

On all lines with trailing spaces, they (the trailing spaces) have been removed. This is affecting my formatting of some reports and statements. We really want to use the report viewer as it has built in paging, print and export capabilities.
Why does it look okay in VS2005 but different in Report Viewer via URL Access and Report Manager?
Note: When I export as PDF, it looks okay.

i just clicked on Advanced mode in Column Group, and then in Row Group Side i set Fixed Data=true for first top static. I'm using local report not server report and i'm displaying that local report in Reportviewer. Now also its not working....

Do I need the report server running in order view a SSRS report in a report viewer control? I've created my report in .net and it works great when I'm viewing it in visual studio, but can I run it my web app without the report server.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed a fresh lab machine with WSS 3.0 and SQL 2005 SP1. I registered the RS web parts.
In the home page I added the Reports Explorer and the Report viewer web parts. I set up the Reports Explorer and the list of reports are showed.
When I connect the Report Viewer Web part to get report from the Report Explorer web part I get the maintenance WSS page. I have to delete the Report Viewer web part to have the page working again.
If I use only the Reports Viewer with a report (not connected to Reports Explorer) is working just fine.
Any ideas what could be the problem? Any hints on how to investigate this is also much appreciated.

But I created another website using visaul studio in my local machine and then used report viewer to disaply the same report. Its in server mode same as earlier. This one can be viewed without any trouble.

I have a reporting viewer in a windows form that behaves very strange. When I open the form and run the report it shows up nicely in the report viewer. If I print the report it only prints one page. When i print the report a second time the whole report is printed. Next I'll change the report parameters and run the report, then it shows up nicely in the viewer, but when I print the report the first report is printed.
Does anyone know what to do with this problem?

Hi, I am getting the following error when I try to open up my web application now, after installing the report viewer add on and placing it onto one of my pages.
Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.ReportViewer.WebForms, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=nutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system could not find the file specified.

So far I have tried to fix this error by installing the reportviewer.exe on the server. I have also verified that the ReportViewer files are in the assembly folder on the server. I also found a site saying to run the reportviewer.exe from a specific location, here is the link
