Is there any thing like Report header in SSRS ? As a work around I am using a Rectangle control in the page header which I make visible if page number is 1 otherwise not visible. But if its invisible only the other items in the header seem to move up while the body height remains unchanged which I do not want. I want the body height to increase if the Report header is absent. Please let me know if I am missing something or if the SSRS has something like Report header already.
I am making a book-like report, I am using a report that has a header and calling a sub-report that has it's own header. However the sub-report header is not showing on the parent report. Parent report header is prevailing over the sub-report. Is it possible to have both headers displaying?
How to display the logo in middle of report header , The logo is embedded in the Image folder . The column of the report are static. we are using SSRS 2008
Is there anyway to create a Report Header in SQL Reporting Services?
I am guessing "no", but I have to at least try and ask away.
Okay, I have had reports where on the first page they want a report header, and then on the 2nd and the consequent pages they want a page header. This is simple, in the Page Header I put the text box(s) for the Report Header in one Rectangle and then the text box(s) for the Page Header in another Rectangle, stack the Rectangles on to of each other, and set the visibility property of the panels accordingly.
I also see on the table control (which I am using on my report), you can set the table header row(s) to either print on every page or only on the first page.
Neither of these options will work for the report I am trying to build based on a Crystal Report.
I have a page header that needs to appear on every page including the first page. It is about 3/8" tall. And then there is a requested report header that should only appear on the first page. The report header is about 2" tall. So if I try my trick I used before, I will have 2" inches of white space on the 2nd and consequent pages. The Report Header would correctly print on the first page, but the size of the Rectangle (even if the visible property is set to false) will still eat up white space.
Is there anyway around this, or will I need to have the users redesign their report to fit SQL reporting services?
I've got a feeling that the answer is, "can't be done," but I'll go ahead and ask the august members of this forum, anyway. Is it possible to alter the placement of the Parameter fields when previewing a report?
At the moment, it seems that they form in a column of twos, reading from left to right. I see how the ORDER is affected, by changing the order of the parameters in the Report Data window, but can I change the number of columns?
I have a tablix report (SSRS 2008) when I render it in excel my client always need to see the row headers as fixed one i.e when he/she scrolls report from row 20 scrolling should begin and always want to see first 20 row and next should be scrolling. Is this possible.
How to show the CurrentMonthanddateandyear in my report header in ssrs?
1.How to show the currentdateandMonthyear exmple date format like June 29 2015 on my report header.
2.How to change the report rdl name with the same name like EmpUpdatedreportJune 29 2015.rdl ,it is possible to create and change the rdl file name with the current dateandmonth.
In above format:15-10 means Oct 15, 15-09 means Sept 15I am getting issues while formatting this in SSRS.I need SSRS table headers to be dynamic. I need that it should be according to the sql table header...The table header should change according to the sql query
hi, in sql server reporting services,i need to display page header in first page only but it is repeating in every page.can any one tell me how to suppress or hide page header in otherpages.
I have searched high and low for how to calculate page numbering in the header where the global values do not apply.
I have a report that generates 300+ invoices and I need the page numbers to reflect page x of xx for that invoice only. My report page breaks for each customer invoice. I have found code to get the page number in the header and I have found code to get the total pages in the body. These two solutions cannot be combined.
Has anyone found a workaround in code behind or some other method?I would appreciate any guidance.
Side note: thank you all for all your postings and solutions. They have been highly valuable as I am new to SSRS.
I want the header to be visible while scrolling. After changing on the static Properties FixedData=True, it is working on BIDS and Internet Explorer 11 . But is does not work in Chrome. Most of my users are using Chrome. Is there any way to fix it for google Chrome.
I am building a report with 3 tablixs using SQL Server 2008. Tablix 3 is long and spans over 3 pages. I am trying to get the header for the to remain visible on all pages and as we scroll through the end of each page. Now this is a frequently asked question and I have found the approach to achieve the desired results. All approaches involve clicking in the advanced mode of the row and column groups to modify the static and dynamic groups. However, when I click the advanced mode there is no effect. I have attached a picture of the design mode. The tablix3 is grouped by the Department column.
I have several row groups in a tablix. I want to keep header visible through scrolling.and i also want the first row group to visible, only the first.
So I set the first row group's properties fixedData to TRUE and keep other row groups to FALSE then when running the report i got error "FixedData is not allowed in row TablixMember, unless it is also set on the first row TablixMember"
Now I think this is not possible. or is there anyway to make it works?
I have an SSRS report I'm working on. I have Row Groups plus details.
A) How can I get the row group headers to repeat on every line? B) I would still like to use the drill down, click the plus sign, and have that work when I export to excel.
Here is the report header: URL....My first thought was is there a way simply to cause the header to repeat. I cannot find that anywhere to do that.My second though was to split the cells and copy the fields to all the rows. Here is the same header with split cells:URL....two problems.
A) I cannot split one cell; See the "X" in the second capture. B) How do I still hid the rows until I drill down.
I have a report with two groups and a detail row (subtotals & totals to follow). When I add the child (detail row) it pushes out to the right of the parent column. Is there any way to start the detail row all the way back to the left hand side of the page? I lose a lot or real estate with the group descriptions.
I am using SSRS 2012 RC0 in Visual Studio 2010 sp1 to build this tabular report. I had inadvertently removed the initial header row from my tablix before adding numerous nested groupings to move the column headers to the header section so they would show up on each page.
I would like to reverse that decision, but I seem to be unable to now re-add that header row back to my tablix. In older versions of SSRS, I was able to right click on the table and then click on insert row-->Header row but that does not seem to be possible in ssrs 2012.. I tried adding a outer row to my top most grouping, but that option was grayed out.
I have just upgraded from Report server 2005 to 2008 r2. I have a program that calls the report server to run some reports but I have getting the error Server did not recognize the value of http header SOAPAction:
[URL] .....
I can log in to the report server and run any report that I want without any issues.
I has developed one report in SSRS in SSRS 2008 R2 and when I preview the report in report viewer in all pages Report Header is repeating, whereas when I export the same report to PDF strange for some pages header is missing.
When I searched in google for SSRS 2008 Microsoft agreed that it is a bug and they provided the hotfix. And this hotfix is not working for SSRS 2008 R2 as it is a higher edition but still I facing the same issue.
I have a program where I have to do a weekly data upload of approx 1,500 records. I've written the sql, but need to know how I can add static header text to the SQL statement.the text I need in the header is Reportname(Static string) + #rows (Rowcount of the sql, int) + department (String static) I'm planning on writing it and saving it as a package, then schedule it to run every Friday at 5:00. But I have been reading a little on Reporting Services and wonder if people think it' might be the way to go? Is it a whole new area of security issues? Or is it worth installing and learning? I will have more and more reports I need to write that will increase in complexity, and want to know if I want to keep writing querys by hand, or use reporting services. Thanks in advance! Dan
For the past couple of days I've been having an issue with Reporting Services. From what I can understand reporting services doesn't work well when exporting to word.
The scenario is quite simple, I am developing a report for a client with a 'master page', which works as the cover, and executes 2 sub-reports with one table each, nothing fancy. We don't export this report to pdf, because the internal client has to attach another report that is impossible to automate, so they generate that report via excel and integrate it on our word document before sending the document to their business partners.
Our main problem is that we can't export the header/footers to word.
I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?
There is a one header in the report, when I publish and hit the report in IE(internet explor) the header appears fine on first page when I go to next page this header does not appear.
But in mozilla the header is visible on every page of the report. so it is working fine in mozilla.
I just created a report builder. I have a main report and i wanted to create a sub report. why i cant or i cant view the path or the folder of my .rdl file to be use as my sub report.
Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?
I have done the following and a domain user would not access report created a login to the SQL server to the user (this SQL Server is where data source DB is)went to site setting in Report Manager and made this use a system userright clicked on report folder and made this user in the browser roleeven checked that in the report in question, the user is already in the browser role Still the user would not access the report! "User .......... does not have required permission" is the error message I am getting.
I have written a report visual studio. The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free. When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. None of the headers or static text is displayed. The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax. We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.
Ralph SELECT RTRIM(a.ITEMNMBR) AS Style, RTRIM(a.ITEMDESC) AS Description, a.ITMSHNAM AS UPC, c.LOCNCODE AS Store, d.LISTPRCE AS ListPrice, a.CURRCOST AS Cost, a.USCATVLS_1 AS [Main Category], a.USCATVLS_2 AS Market, a.USCATVLS_3 AS [Alternate Retail], a.USCATVLS_4 AS Country, b.ITEMXTRAS_1_Type AS Type, b.ITEMXTRAS_2_Finish AS Finish, b.ITEMXTRAS_3_SubCategory AS SubCategory, b.ITEMXTRAS_4_Department AS Department,
We are about to implement SSRS reports (SQL Server 2012), and have found one issue we don't like. The report looks great when we open it in pdf format. However, when we open it in Excel format, we want it to be the raw data, not look like the pdf report. I tried the simpl headers, and that removed the page header/footer. However, the report format was still in play.In other words, we would like the report when opened in Excel, to look just like it does when we open it as a CSV.I have tried to modify the config file a couple of times. Here is my latest attempt:
Essentially I have set Visible = "false" for the Excel type, and tried to duplicate the CSV, changing the name to make it look to the user like it is "Excel". This fails. I checked the event viewer, and I see two entries.. The RSReportServer.config file has been modified. (Information)The value for UrlRoot in RSReportServer.config is not valid. The default value will be used instead.I literally took the file, opened it in Notepad, pasted in my changes, from another notepad window, and tried to run the report. I did not see EITHER of the two names I expected, using the OverrideNames tag. As I said earlier, I was able to affect the outcome, by setting SimpleHeaders to true (or however it is identified). That did work in that the page header and footer was removed.
I have a ssrs report having 2 tables in with 4 columns in each. When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .
I am working on reports in SSRS 2008 (not R2)... There are some reports with parameters that are hidden when the report is accessed through normal URL using ReportViewer.asx..The thing is that these hidden parameters need to be visible when the report is accessed using SSRS Report Manager.
